We’ve been so happy with our experience at The Little Gym! Ms Marissa is so passionate about supporting kiddos and parents in their journey to confidence & happiness. She is patient, fun, and puts a lot of strategy & thoughtfulness into each class. I was thrilled to see how the classes helped my daughter build confidence to walk – and then quickly to run! – through such a positive and supportive environment.

The instructors create a positive atmosphere that is safe and builds confidence for the kids. My four-year-old girl learns a new skill set every week! The entire team at the gym, from instructors to support staff, is fantastic. We also hosted my little girl’s birthday party, and it was amazing not only for the kids to have fun, but the staff were so supportive and assisted during the entirety of the birthday party, from set up to serving and cleaning. I mean, everything was perfect! Thank you!!!

Update: After my review, the owner and director personally reached out to me. They responded very kindly and professionally, and took steps to improve the situation. They began additional training with the staff and are now monitoring classes more closely. This shows that the management truly cares about the quality and safety of the program for children.
***************
We’ve been part of Little Gym for almost two years, but lately I’m incredibly disappointed and frustrated with how things have changed. The constant turnover of teachers has always been an issue, but the new instructors seem completely unqualified and inexperienced when it comes to working with young children.
They try to ask engaging questions like “What’s your favorite activity?”, but then don’t even give all the kids a chance to answer. There’s no structure or turn-taking — and if your child is polite and not pushy, they’re often left out and barely get a turn.
What’s most concerning is the lack of safety and proper supervision. Kids are doing flips and rolls, but many are doing it incorrectly — some even go as far as standing on their heads, putting serious pressure on their necks. No one is guiding or correcting them, and it’s truly dangerous.
I really hope the management takes this seriously and reevaluates the qualifications of their staff and how classes are run. At this point, our family is strongly considering stopping our participation in Little Gym. Very disappointing.

Absolutely have loved our experience with the Little Gym. Our daughter started out as Bird and was just learning to stand. By the end of her first month she was confidently taking steps. Ms. Marissa is a gem and understands so much about early child development. She shares tips to help reinforce the lessons at home. She is very patient and works to get to know each of the kiddos. She makes the class exciting and tries to incorporate things that will get the kids excited to participate in class. They are also very thoughtful about scheduling classes and really value parent feedback. As two working parents it can be hard to find activities to do with our child during the week, but the Little Gym is one of favorite activities. The skills are transferable and we have enjoyed the confidence our child has gained through her participation. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Our family has been part of the Little Gym family for the last 2 years. We started going with my sensitive and shy son when we was 2 years old and immediately felt like we were in the right spot. It was the perfect blend of structured and unstructured play that allowed my son to gain confidence and independence while also enjoying himself and exploring in a safe environment. I also have appreciated that as my kids change developmentally, the staff is well equipped to help and support them through the different phases of toddlerhood. I enthusiastically recommend giving TLG a try!

I took my son here today for a trial class woth the Giggle Worms group since he just turned 4. He really enjoyed it and all of the staff were super friendly and worked really well with the kids. I could tell safety was a top priority. The facility was super clean. We live about 30 minutes away and traffic added 10 minutes so unfortunately we won't be able to make it weekly. However, I did see they have regular parents night out options where you can drop your child off for 3 hours. I definitely see doing this in the future. My son had an absolute blast and I felt like he was in great hands!

Our 3 year old daughter absolutely loves The Little Gym! She looks forward to it every week. This is the first activity that she’s participated in where the parents aren’t in the room (we watch through the wall of windows). We couldn’t believe how quickly she adjusted and we attribute that to her sweet teachers who make her feel special each week. We definitely recommend The Little Gym Huntersville!

My daughter that's 11 years old, really enjoys The Little Gym. She was recently moved up to a more challenging class since one of the teachers noticed that her skill level had gone up. While in her new class, during one practice she was feeling kind of down because she was having an issue on the bar. My husband and I were out of town and we had our son take her to practice, we received a call from her teacher and she informed us that she was feeling a little down and may need a pep talk to help build her confidence up and to tell her to not give up. She didn't have to do that and that showed me that these teachers are really passionate about what they do.

Stopped coming with the kid I nanny because instructors are quite unprofessional and I see one that is on her phone constantly while I am here. Facility doesn’t always seem “clean”. The teachers are too strict (this isn’t a warehouse gym). Went to a birthday party at another gym so will be looking into the one in Charlotte as I’ve seen much better reviews for them than here. Quite disappointed.

Our son has been going here for 1.5 years since he was three. He was very shy and struggled to get acclimated with a new environment, but ALL of the instructions at Little Gym were attentive to him every single time.
I’m an educator and I have to say that the attentiveness to my child was something I expect from myself for other kids that I teach.
Basically, we’ve loved our time here and my son has gotten much better at his skills.

We recently moved to the area and looking for a social and physical outlet for our sweet girl. She has only been to a few classes, and even though she is timid to try the new skills, we can already tell she is enjoying the gym, making new friends, and growing from from what she is introduced and practicing! As a first time parent, I am so excited to give her own thing to strengthen her body and mind! The team is definitely sweet, friendly and full of awesome information and skills too! Not to mention the singing is too stinkin' cute! Sign your child up! You will not regret it!

Paisley loves The Little Gym! She is in the Bugs class for 4-10 month old babies. It's the cutest class. It's fun and both socially and developmentally appropriate. Paisley learned to crawl and standing with support since starting May 29th. We are excited about having her 1st birthday party here as well in September. It's literally a hidden gem, no pun intended.

After a few weeks of being out of pre-school for the summer, my almost 4- year old was clearly bored at home terrorizing the nanny and his little brother. He insisted he didn't want to go to summer school or any camps. In a moment of desperation, I signed him up for 5 camps at The Little Gym of Huntersville. I loved how I could cherry pick class days to sprinkle them around other weekly events that were already planned.
I was nervous to drop him off on the first day as like most kids he doesn't always do well with unfamiliar surroundings. He handled drop off like a champ even though I told him he might feel sad and that was ok and normal.
When we picked him up he was so happy and asked right away if he could come back tomorrow. He had clearly burned so much energy and was exhausted, but in a good way. He could barely walk to the car he had played so hard! All weekend he asked if he could go back so needless to say, we purchased another 10 passes and will likely purchase more. We are so happy we found an affordable solution that works for him and for our family's schedule! I don't know what exactly they are doing to keep these kids entertained for 4 hours, but it's working! I'm so glad we found this place and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a solution for an energetic kid who insists they want to stay at home.
Also, communication has been excellent and the exposure I've had to the teachers has been impressive as well. They seem like a lively, upbeat, positive bunch!

Had several issues with this place and have been going there for about a year.
1. A. Extremely poor communication. I was told back in December of 2020 that the 21st was our last class. I get a text message in January saying we missed our class. I called to let them know that I was told our classes were up in December and was simply told that our membership was good until May of 2021. Would have been nice to have been told that back in December.
B.Drove 45 minutes to class today which is scheduled for 11:15am only to find the place is closed. When I called to find out why, I was told that they sent out emails over the weekend. I asked why I wasn’t notified over text message because I don’t check my email on the weekends and every other communication I’ve had with them has been through text message, but not this. I was told it was because of iPhones, which made no sense and she did not clarify what that was supposed to mean. Then I was told she is not allowed to text about covid related closures. However when I asked about the inclement weather notifications and was informed it would be sent through text. My issue with this is that I didn’t care why they were closed, my only care was why I wasn’t notified that there was a closure. There is no legitimate reason why you can’t text alert that the business is closed and you don’t have to mention why. Again, I didn’t ask or care why it was closed, just why I wasn’t notified. All I got from them were truly inadequate excuses as to why they didn’t notify me through texts. If I miss a class or need to make a payment or if there is a closure due to weather conditions, they text. Another issue then would be, if you literally can’t text me to tell me you are closed without giving a reason, then why are parents not being informed as to how they would receive other closure notifications, if they are not to be texted out, like everything else.
2. On our first class in January after missing the first one completely due to poor communication, we come into the class and feel that it is extremely cold in the gum area. I walk over to the thermostat and find it is set on 62 degrees in the dead of winter. Needless to say our first gym class of 2021 was extremely uncomfortable and made me want to quit right then and there, but we didn’t. Not yet at least.
3. My daughter is very shy and I don’t know why that would make a difference to the fact that she has been ignored in class, at least once, by every single teacher she’s had, except for one. While everyone else’s child is asked if they want to do the skill of the day or week, my child was never asked and her name never mentioned. While that doesn’t bother my daughter at her young age, it nearly broke my heart, for her sake.
4. Today we reached our final straw when we were not notified about the closure and then I was given a mirage of excuses, none of which involved anyone owning the fact that they did not ensure that people were properly notified. I also asked if I was the only person who showed up and had to call and to no ones surprise I wasn’t the only one, which should tell them that their attempt to notify people was severely lacking. So I called to get the refund and cancellation policy. I was never given these things but was told they will work on the refund as soon as they reopen, which I do appreciate, but also brings me to my final point, which is, she never asked why we wanted to cancel. I told her today wasn’t the first issue we’ve had and she didn’t even bother to ask what the other issues were. It has become glaringly apparent that they do not care what your experience of their facility is. It’s just absurd that you tell someone you’ve had multiple issues with them and they show absolutely no interest in what the issues are so they can fix them. This tells me they are comfortable in their complacency and that makes me uncomfortable.
Maybe it’s just me but I always assume I’ll receive at least the bare minimum from companies and oftentimes find my low expectations were actually too high. This place being another example of that.

My daughter and I love this place, but I am beyond livid. My daughter attends the Thursday sessions and today I was greeted with a notice on the door stating the gym is closed. I haven't received not one phone call, text message, or an email. I left the gym a message earlier today and sent a text message requesting someone to call me back about the covid outbreak at the gym and
still no word. This is unacceptable. I am considered high risk and I need to know if my daughter's class was directly impacted. It's in the best interest for someone contact me immediately.

Today was our first day back after the economy shut down and reopened for Covid19. I was a little nervous to take my daughter back into society just for the simple fact that she hasn't been anywhere over the past 3-4 months. The Little Gym was the first place that I have taken her, and I will say that with all of the precautions and sanitizing/disinfecting they do/did, I feel so comfortable knowing that it is a clean and healthy place for her to get back into the swing of things. I want to say thank you to all of the TLG staff for working so diligently to make it a safe place for our little ones!!!

Kayla and her team are fabulous! Super supportive and understanding. The Little Gym offers a generous make up policy with lots of options for class times. It's a great environment with lots of love for littles and their parents. The parent child classes are informative in a fun way offering a perfect balance of learning and exploration. Clear instructions during class for both parents and children. Instructors spot students so children learn responsible risk taking and build confidence. We've been attending since August 2018 and couldn't be happier. Our bird is moving up to the beast class this summer and he's ready. At 18 months, he can hang on a bar and walk across the balance beam with a spotter. I never would have realized his potential without the Little Gym. Thank you for a great experience! My family attended a birthday party here last weekend. The party was wonderful and so was the facility. However, one of the instructors was out of line with my son on a few occasions.
First, when my son (3) answered a question before he was called on, the instructor put her hand over his mouth and kept it there for a minute or so. I found this extremely inappropriate. First, my son is 3 years old, they speak out of turn, it’s normal. Second, why would you ever think it’s okay to put your dirty hands over a child’s mouth? You have just been touching tons of other children and gym equipment...
Next, when party favors were being given out, my son did not say thank you to the instructor (same girl as before), so I instructed him to go back to her and tell her thank you. As he walked up to her, she immediately snapped at him for trying to get a second party bag. I told her he wasn’t, he was just trying to tell her thank you. She realized her mistake and accepted his thanks.
My main issue here is that it seemed as if my son was singled out in a negative way. Though I’m sure this instructor does a great job most of the time, she was extremely out of line with my son, who is, again, only three years old.
