I have been a member for a few months, but I genuinely love this gym. I found out they have a Zumba class on Mondays and Wednesdays and decided to check it out. The instructor, Tanya, is amazing. I knew 10 minutes into the first class that I would be signing up for an annual membership as soon as class ended. I have been going regularly to Zumba class, and have begun doing my own work out twice a week using the machines at the gym. I'm not a "gym person" so the first time I tried to figure out the machines was a bit intimidating. A very kind employee saw my look of confusion and asked if I needed help. I explained the type of exercise I wanted to accomplish and the muscle groups I was trying to work on. She showed me several machines and demonstrated their use so that I could figure out what worked for me! I have never had anyone make me feel awkward or uncomfortable, which was always a fear I have had since I'm not in very good shape. But going to this gym has genuinely helped me feel better about my over all health and strength, and motivated me to make a conscious effort to be healthier in all aspects of my life. I really can't recommend the Pumphouse enough!

I've enjoyed being a member here. Odd with the fingerprint scan-in, but I guess it does add safety. Has every machine you could want and a fair amount of free weights. There is a deadlift platform that I use every time and it has a loading pivot bar which is helpful. The gym never feels dead or too busy, usually a solid medium. Only complaint is the equipment itself is packed in tight at the dumbbell area. If they took away a machine or two it would probably help.

This gym is great and I have now been working out here for 3 years. The people and staff here are lovely. The only problem I have is how the free weights are never organized. This isnt a gym thing and more of a people thing. I also have minor ocd in the gym and some of the weights are different brands which is kind of annoying when loading up a bar as I like both sides to match. Other then that the gym is great in every aspect.

Greta place to work out. The trainers there are so chill and really motivate you. Debbie was my trainer while visiting NC. She was so knowledgeable and really helped explain the mechanical side of the workouts we did. Excellent trainer if you can book her. The gym had a lot of equipment and every one was respectful of the equipment. Wiping down after use. That's personal pet peeve when people don't.

so seeing everyone clean off the machines after use says a lot about the respect the community has for the gym.

The protein shakes are great. I had a chocolate peanut butter, chocolate banana, and chocolate strawberry. All Greta favorite was the peanut butter cup one.

10/10 I recommend.

Absolutely by far the best gym in WNC. I drive 35 minutes to go there and 35 back-well worth it.

Machines are new, state of the art and many. They are well maintained and clean. I get a killer work out and I consider myself an elite body builder.

Tammy who runs things in the daytime is awesome. She's extremely friendly, and knowledgeable and will take time to discuss all the amenities and extras. The clientele is great also.

Best of all its a real feel good place. Lots of tinted windows looking out at the beautiful landscape and attention to detail that blows me away, like the red metal bench out front and Dyson cutter hand dryers in the bathrooms.

I've lived all around the country and the owner (NOT CORP) nailed it with this gym.

Looking at fitness centers as a retiree. Asked about free pass I had from Active& Fit and if I could come in Monday. Told no issue and the owner was in 15 minutes before opening at 4am, came in at 4:10am and was told no staff was on hand to take care of passes until after 5am when the owner came in by people working out. Came back in at 9:30am and same person I saw on Friday behind the desk. Asked if owner, Brenda, was in and told she was out. After some back and forth about what was said on Friday and denials I asked if I should just go elsewhere, and the employee stated maybe I should. Came by The Pump House over the weekend at 5am while in Asheville for a bachelor trip. Brenda, who I assume is the owner, introduced herself, offered to show me around, and was nothing but friendly. She even checked on me during my workout to make sure I was comfortable and found everything.

The gym itself is very clean, with what appeared to have a very tight knit community working out, and chatting between sets.

The gym has everything you need, from deadlift platforms, dumbbells over 100 lbs, a great machine variety, and plenty of cardio options.

Definitely glad I made the drive to workout here as opposed to somewhere else. The Pump House will definitely be my spot if I ever come back to the area. Day passes are only $10.00 too!

They have a lot of equipment but the place is to small for all the equipment. Very cramped. Weights are never organized. You have to go searching for the matching dumbbells. The price is way to high. I have traveled all over the country and the world and I have to say they are charging in the top 3% for the monthly memberships. I paid half what they are charging when I was in NYC. They don't have a water fountain but they do have a vending machine to charge you for water. I only recommend if you don't have another option, which I did find and after my 1 month membership runs out I'm switching to the other gym I found.

I love Brenda and Rasheed (Sorry for the spelling if wrong) with all my heart! They are very personal and sweet and want to make you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. I have tried to get my boyfriend to go to the gym for a year and he never wanted to because of the atmosphere.. Now that we have a membership at the pumphouse, he makes me go every day! Rasheed also makes an awesome protein shake and I actually enjoy drinking it for once! The owner, Ms. Brenda is a shoe fanatic and hard working small business owner like myself. You can not please everyone but our first priority is to keep everyone safe but also to make sure they want to keep coming back. These people make me want to come back everyday. Even if we do not workout as hard as we need to for one day, we love coming to see them and to have a friendly conversation with them. You can see how hard they work and how they want to keep everyone happy! They sure do keep me happy!

After spending ample time originally filling out paperwork and signing up for a membership with Ramid and working out for a month only to show up on a Saturday to find out they had lost the paperwork and saw my information in the computer but I would need to do the process again,. After going and getting my credit card this time Brenda gives me a whole other amount than Ramid did and i proceed to workout. Several times I witness the unprofessional loud Brenda terrorize paying guests that they missed being authorized entry because the system at the door only works half the time leaving you standing at the door hoping someone will answer the phone and assist you to get in.
Multiple times I witnessed Brenda yell across the gym floor asking people to go back and do their finger to get authorized to enter. Degrading and insulting making it seem that at the age of 50 that someone was trying to get in without paying. A professional person would have quietly gotten the paying customers name and allowed the customer to continue their workout. Brenda yelled at myself from 20 feet away and had me get off the treadmill, watch me put my finger at least 10 times then it finally works and she says now you can go workout. Who enjoys being treated like a child, yelled at from across the room and pays someone for that abuse. Oh and after cancelling my membership she still charged my card. If this Gym was free I wouldn't go to it.

And not to mention twice I got up to do a 6am class only to find the teacher never showed.

Love the place. Renewed membership after being gone a couple years. Gave Planet Fitness a try. Pump House is much more suited for those wanting to push themselves, or to enjoy one of dozens of fitness classes with Brenda.

Immaculately clean and organized! I'm just visiting for a few days and the owners made me feel right at home. I purchased the week pass which was a bargain for 24hr access!! Highly recommend regardless of skill level.

I have been a member here practically since it opened I wouldn't go anywhere else. The equipment is up to date, staff is friendly and helpful, owners are always improving on something that's already great. This place is immaculately clean, has video cameras, tons of parking and secure 24-hour door. I feel safe going here anytime.

I enjoyed the pumphouse for a few months before they started construction and closed the area that I used for 25% of my workout routine. I had signed up for a year contract and paid it while I went to a different gym nearby. Even though I paid the gym through the contract, knowing that I could have stopped payment earlier with no consequence, they continued to charge me after my contact was up. They then sent my information to a collection agency that tried to bully me. Hahaha. No dice. I won't be paying the $196 they're trying to charge me. Their shady lawyers at internal credit system should go back to repoing rental furniture.

I started here 4 years ago I weighed 474 lbs I had been in a wheel chair for a couple years after an autoimmune disease crippled me the way they treated me was a big reason why I stayed everyone was so kind and nonjudgmental I have lost 160 lbs and feel great this is a special place where anyone can be successful
