Tall single pitch lead climb paradise in the back room! Leave your 35M rope at home. Theres a lead cave but itβs not too steep. Bouldering is pretty fun but chaotic as there are children running and their parents taking videos with minimal spatial awareness. Two variable width cracks that I rarely see in indoor gyms these days! Bring your crack gloves and hype.
Other beta: no chalk bins, didnβt see lockers, yes fingerboards in the back, yes weight room in the back. Pretty good shopping selection for shoes, harnesses, ropes and belay devices.

I've been a member for a year now, and TRC is by far one of my most favorite places in the Triangle. (That is saying a lot since I also grew up here!) The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The classes are wonderful - climbing, yoga, strength. The members are the best; we've made new friends of all ages that we wouldn't have made otherwise before we joined. Strong recommend!

Very impressive facility with plenty of variety - lots of options for a different challenge. And I understand the climbing features get modified regularly so it keeps it interesting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. An exhilarating experience. I look forward to going again.

This place is awesome! Every time I have been in I am really well taken care of. The atmosphere is pleasant and the people who took care of me were very nice and gave me everything I needed to safely have a great time. I met a friend there who showed me how a little encouragement can really go a long way, so the next time I brought a friend with me and he loved it just as much as I did! I HIGHLY recommend! Go on, do it! It's fun! I don't know why I waited so long!

An unforgettable family adventure!
Our first visit to Triangle Rock Club in Morrisville was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The tour of the facility was thorough, and the staff took the time to patiently walk us through safety protocols and equipmentβmaking us feel confident and cared for every step of the way.
We spent a fun-filled Sunday morning climbing, laughing, and bonding as a family. Our boys had the best time and havenβt stopped talking about it since. Itβs rare to find an activity thatβs both physically engaging and emotionally rewarding, and this hit the mark perfectly.
Special shoutout to Ayresβhe was truly exceptional. His encouragement, patience, and positive energy made a huge impression on all of us. He didnβt just help us climb; he elevated the entire experience. Ayres is the kind of person who makes you feel like you belong, even on your first visit. Triangle Rock Club is lucky to have him.
The entire staff was kind, respectful, and clearly passionate about what they do. Beyond the climbing itself, we were struck by the sense of communityβmeeting other like-minded folks and feeling instantly welcomed. Triangle Rock Club is a first-class operation, and the ownership deserves major kudos for bringing such a unique and high-quality offering to the area.
We canβt wait to come back. If youβre looking for a memorable, family-friendly adventure with top-notch people and a great vibe, this is it.

A fantastic climbing gym with great staff. They have a great mix of all types of climbing walls as far as height, technical challenge, and type (bouldering, top rope, and lead).

I took my eight year child to the Durham location and was chastised by an employee named Kalden (He had shoulder length light brown curly hair). He upset my child almost to the point of crying. Iβm not used to getting yelled at by someone who is 30 years younger than me.
As for the facility, itβs first rate and well maintained. However, I will not be going back due to this rude young man. Management needs to provide better training to their employees.
The next time my child wants to go to climbing, Iβll try one of their area competitors.

This seems like a great gym, but I walked away with a super disappointing experience. I live in the Fayetteville area and drove about an hour and a half to check out this location. I arrived at 11:30 am on a Friday and was informed most of the gym was closed off for summer camp, but that it would be opening back up at 12. There was no signage on the door stating this, nor any information on TRCβs website or social media pages indicating the closure. I waited for 30 minutes, only for most of the kids to not actually clear out at noon.
Supposedly TRC is running a summer camp, but like another reviewer said, it truly feels more like theyβre running a daycare. Kids were running around, wrestling, throwing their shoes and harnesses around, and the staff on duty did next to nothing to reign them in. Not only are these conditions simply not fun, theyβre DANGEROUS. Do not come here on weekdays during the summer between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm.

This place has become a daycare. You canβt go there at any hour anymore where itβs not filled with young kids (think recreational gymnastics) being watched by one employee, including the weight/gym area. It looks like theyβve opened it as a daycare for the Summer because I went to use the gym during my lunch break and it was being used by kids, barely leaving space for anyone else. It also isnβt safe. Iβve seen small kids get fallen on or kicked in the bouldering area. It feels like they care more about liability than safety, which is wild because climbing is dangerous. Imagine going to a CrossFit gym or any other gym where children are running around. Iβve never been anywhere else, including other climbing gyms across the country, that are like this.
Itβs so disappointing. Between the ownership rolling back measures to stay inclusive for their large LGBTQ+ community, and now this, I wish there was another option for climbing gyms. Unfortunately, I think they know they own this market and can (and do) do whatever they want.
The facility is also falling apart. The yoga room lights flicker and the ceiling leaks when it rains. The routes are constantly stale, especially since adding the ropes area at Durham and now opening Salvage Yard. Itβs clear this is just a money-making endeavor with little to no concern for the actual climbing community.

As a current paying member at TRC with this as my primary location, I am disappointed with the recent change in policy of no longer providing feminine hygiene products in restrooms. Executive leadership is needlessly harming a diverse and inclusive community with performative anti-woke nonsense. At this location I have only ever met kind, tolerant, and inclusive people. It's truly a shame that the executives of the company can operate so openly against the interests of their community and customers.

Unfortunately cannot visit TRC in good faith any more. After seeing first hand the poor direction of executives in staffing their youth programs, and the disregard for human rights and comforts by removing menstrual products from all restrooms, it's clear this is not a welcoming or safe environment.

My husband and I have a Triangle Rock Club family membership. Itβs the only βgymβ membership Iβve ever stuck to consistently for more than a few months. Itβs definitely more pricey than a standard gym, but itβs a very fun workout and I found muscles I never knew existed. There is also a weight room and some cardio machines, but they are not the main draw to this place. Morrisville is our home location, but we change it up sometimes and go to Salvage Yard. We go mostly on week days after school drop off and before going to work (we have flexible jobs with the ability to work non-standard hours). Itβs not crowded at those times, even with the track out camps always running. There is also a dedicated climbing area that the kids cannot enter. The constant progress and the way the place changes up the routes regularly is great motivation to keep going!

The gym isnβt bad but they have summer camps that shut down 75% of the gym and donβt advertise it anywhere. Wasted 20 minutes driving out here to climb and basically get turned away. They need to post both setting schedules and summer camp schedules online.

Editing my original review: since the experiences I described we have returned to this location several times and had less issues. However, this location does consistently have a lot of small children compared to the others which I feel is good to be aware of.
First time visiting this TRC location over our usual. We felt very unsafe while climbing due to the large quantity of unsupervised children. Kids would run and stand directly under the wall while you were descending from a climb. Several children were playing tag on top of the bouldering wall. Will avoid this location to avoid falling on a child.

Such a great climbing gym! This specific location has bouldering sections and a variety of rope walls.
The gym is a little smaller than the other TRC gyms but it has a decent selection of hangboard options for climbing training and free weights with squat racks.
There are also excellent lifting and yoga classes available.
I am so proud to be apart of the TRC community and highly recommend you checking out this specific location.

This is honestly the best place for anything.if you want to relax have fun or do the extreme it's the place. The gym itself is amazing but the staff are on a whole other level as well as the community.ive spent so many track outs here and they have all been amazing. The cost of a membership is pretty expensive but it's Easley worth the money I love this place.the safety measures are superb and still don't really interfere with your climbing.its for all ages it really doesn't make a difference what age you are theres always a way you can do a route wheater your 4ft or 6ft.people really don't judge you. If you visit you may find yourself coming back.

Nice gym with friendly staff.
Adding the gym into Vertical-Life would be a nice addition. Our previous gym in Colorado had vertical life and it made tracking training a lot easier as well as added some competition for people who get stoke from leaderboards or want to share/look at beta.
Cheers!

Great facility, even for beginners and kids - will return. Note: if you do not have somebody to belay you, you will have to rely on auto-belay. This is fine however if there happens to be a birthday party going on while you are there, about half the auto-belay bays will be unavailable.

Youth track out camp
Our kids (10&7) attended the one day school holiday camp a few times over the winter break. They absolutely loved it. They raved about the climbing, the crafts, and the games they played. My oldest reported that her counselors were amazing and she hoped she got the same ones the second day she went (high praise from our girl!). We will for sure be back and recommend others who might need a day break without the full week commitment looking too! It was fabulous!

This place is great for kids and adults and there are different levels of rock walls for them to climb on. The staff does a good job making sure the kids especially are safe and have the harness on correctly. The floors are cushioned. It's a nice rock climbing gym if you have the right schedule and lots of patience. If you're unlucky enough to only have mornings free, be aware that you are paying full price for half a gym.
This place is a daycare until noon. At noon, when they let you access the whole facility you're paying for, they also unleash a dozen or more children to play, unattended, across the entire gym. The signage makes it seem like this would only be a summer/vacation thing, but it is year-round. They seem to have a deal with a local private school or something because this is a big, unruly group of 6 - 12 year olds who should be in school at this time. The least they could do is teach them basic rock gym etiquette or properly supervise them.
I wish they could make up their mind on what kind of business they're running because they have nice facilities. If you want to climb in the Morrisville area, they're your only option.

Great place to belay if you have a partner. Not so great if youβre alone. The bouldering is limited to essentially two short walls much of which is often taken by kids camps and the number of auto belays may be countable on one hand. Raleigh location is better for bouldering but could be better. Overall super nice people and good for what it is (basically partner belaying). Just wish it was a place a climber could go to work rather than it often requiring partner coordination. Also hope they open up a new place further south more focused on busy climbers who want to come in free time!

TRC is the best place to climb in NC. They have facilities all over the triangle in Raleigh, Morrisvilleand Durham. They offer free events and classes to members. Membership is around $90 per month, the coupleβs membership is slightly discounted per person. I prefer the Morrisville one over the Raleigh one because of the more beginners friendly bouldering wall. Itβs very hard to find parking if you come here after work. I often have to park at the Trader Joeβs across the street.

Iβve been climbing around the country, and had the fun opportunity of being part of the awesome climbing community for years. With that being said- Iβm bummed to be writing this review. I went a few weeks ago on a hot summer day wearing comfy climbing vibe clothes- big shorts and a sports bra. Halfway through my climb I was told to cover up as my sports bra was in appropriate. I found this disgusting and not the welcoming climber scene Iβm used to. Itβs 2022, my sports bra is the least of concerns. Climb on, my dudes. Cheers to better vibes!

I have a love/hate relationship with the gym. I love the routes and walls here but hate the safety when it comes to kids running around. I understand there are safety videos at the start of climbing and that there are counselors who watch a lot of the kids in camps, but I and my fellow climbers routinely have to tell kids and workers that kids should not be running and should be looking up above them when by a wall. I've had a friend almost land on a kid before and the workers put cones up but that was the one time. It's exhausting having to keep watch of kids, parents, and workers not taking proper safety measures. I and my fellow climbers have had to avoid areas/routes and it makes climbing not fun.
Please get a better system for watching over kids and keeping everyone safe. This is not an isolated incident and happens literally every time I come to climb. For example, kids will be jumping across the top of the donut, rushing over to a wall while people are climbing, jumping in areas others are climbing, running under people climbing, etc.
Edit to add: The answer should not be to avoid areas of kids or to find another time to climb. Safety should matter at all times and areas of the gym.
Also, staff are generally kind and helpful when it pertains to everything other than kids running around and jumping.

It was my first visit. It was fun even I didn't climb far on the black beginner route. The staff was nice and helpful.

Staff were super friendly, the bouldering area was a bit small and ranking was challenging for me, V0-2 felt much harder than Gyms in other states, although - I am a beginner so this is just how it felt for me.
They also got a few auto-belay spots which is great (and were hard for me, even the 5.8, and I am usually climbing 5.10c).
I will come later next time and try the kids section on the left that opens at noon, might be easier :)
