First, let me start with the positive. My daughter’s coach is amazing. She’s been with her for a few years now and absolutely adores her. My daughter had been with Triumph for nearly seven years, and her experience with all of her coaches has always been outstanding.
I’m writing this review because of our recent experience signing up our daughter to try out for the Stars team, which she was a part of last year. The Stars program is supposed to be a fun, lower-commitment way to prepare gymnasts for more competitive teams. Unfortunately, when we attempted to sign up, we were told that tryouts were already full.
After several back-and-forth emails with different staff members, we learned there was nothing they could do. There wasn’t even a waiting list just in case they had no-shows. My daughter was heartbroken. She loved the low-pressure, competitive environment and the excitement of going to meets. She was so disappointed that she was willing to leave her long-time coach and explore other gyms in the area.
We decided to check out SGA in Morrisville, and it turned out to be a beautiful facility. We spoke with the staff and learned they have an AAU team, which offers a similar lower-pressure competitive experience. The head AAU coach told us that our daughter could come back in a couple of hours for a one-on-one tryout that same evening! Her face lit up like it was her birthday. We came back, she tried out, and she was offered a spot on the team that night. Two days later, she attended her first class.
How impressive is that? My daughter had both her tryout and her first class before the Triumph Stars team even held their tryouts. We even met another family whose daughter could not attend the Stars tryout and made the same move we did.
We’ve now been with SGA for a week, and the experience so far has been wonderful. It’s clear that SGA has things organized so that there’s room for every child who wants to compete. I don’t understand why Triumph hasn’t found a way to do the same. The first come, first serve response to their call for tryouts email is not a satisfactory way to run things in our mind. They’ve lost at least two girls recently because of this and likely others before us.
Parents should know that your child may not be given the opportunity to try out, even if they’ve been enrolled in the gym for several years, 7 in our case, and part of the Stars team previously.

My daughter is a competitive gymnast in another state. She was in town visiting a friend and was warmly welcomed to practice at TRIumph. The coaches were encouraging and included her in everything. If youre looking for a wonderful gym in the area, this one is definitely it.

I love this gym! My Son is an elite level 10 gymnast and has been training here for over 9yrs! I’ve been to other gyms with my other children for different reasons, and none compare to the actual care shown towards their athletes! The environment is as safe as gymnastics can be, and the staff is great! I would recommend 10x over!

Enrolling my daughters in this gymnastics class was meant to be an enriching experience, but sadly, it has turned into a distressing situation. My heart sinks as I witness one of my daughters, previously full of enthusiasm, now trembling with fear at the thought of attending class. The introduction of a new male instructor seems to have triggered this change, and despite my earnest expressions of concern, the staff has not only been unresponsive but shockingly rude.
As a mother, it’s disconcerting to see my child go from embracing a beloved activity to becoming hesitant and scared. The lack of empathy from the staff leaves me questioning what has transpired in those classes that has instilled this fear in my daughter. The recurrent charges, persisting even after pleading for them to cease, only add to the distress. This ordeal has left me genuinely concerned for my daughter’s well-being and searching for an environment where her safety and happiness are prioritized.

My 5yo started there over a year ago and the coach was great. He had fun, she showed him the new techniques and actually taught him. She left a while back. There were 3 preschool classes going on at the timeslot he was there and 2 of the 3 coaches always looked miserable every week. The new coaches don't really teach the kids, they just stand there and let them go through the stations however they want for the most part. Let me just say that I am under no illusions that my son will be an amazing gymnast, but if he is going to classes to be taught gymnastics, they should correct what he is doing wrong and help him do it right. It was in his routine so we just kept going even though we did not see him getting much out of it. Recently we were running behind and he missed the warm up for the first time since he started over a year ago and they would not let him participate. I nicely asked if they would allow him to participate because he never does this and the answer was a hard no. I a little bit of leniency would have been nice. He is only 5. That was our push to cancel our membership. I can't speak to the older kid classes, but for preschool maybe try some other places in the area first. We have been to bday parties at other places in the area and the staff was much nicer and the coaches were more mature.

We love Triumph! It’s a 40 minute drive but it is worth it. Great atmosphere and friendly people. Coach Connor has been so helpful for my grandson. He has helped him overcome his fear of the high bar and worked with the boys in the class to teach them new things. He is caring and encouraging. Thanks Coach Connor.

I have to agree with an earlier post. There is no excuse to have such a dirty space for people to offer as open play.
Opening a business as such, should include the cost of a cleaning team. If that is not in the budget you should not open to the 'public'
It's not only chalk. Old masks, old socks, old hairbands, piles of lint dust, scrap paper, old balloons on the ceiling, stuff scattered around from picture frames to folders. It's a mess.
There is simply no emphasis on cleanliness and organisation overall.
Will not come again. Nor would I sign up my daughter to such a dirty place.

Our family loves TRIumph Gymnastics! Our daughter 2.5 years old and she loves it. She used to go to The Little Gym in Cary for about a year but we wanted something more and after the management changed there it went down hill for us. We tried out triumph and the ENTIRE staff is amazing! I love that it’s in an actual gym so they get more realistic experience. I think it’s awesome that if she enjoys this as she gets older she has the option to compete with this gym. Where as the other gym was just recreational. Whether or not you want this to grow into something more TRIumph is definitely the way to go. They have awesome holiday activities for the whole family as well! Can’t say enough about this gym, we love it!!

We came from another gym which doesn't hold a candle to Triumph. We have also done trial classes at several others. Triumph takes the cake. Here's why: each and every coach gives the students in their class their undivided attention. I found the coaches to role model discipline (in a self control and focus sense) and hard work. The athletes, even the young ones want to work hard because their coaches are working hard right there with them. The coaches demonstrate how stretches, exercises, and skills are done. Then when needed, they give each student constructive critiques to help them get it right. At Triumph, it isn't about filling the time, excessive water breaks, nor squeezing in as many reps as possible. Rather, it's about focus, strength, coordination, and technique. They would rather you do it 10 times correctly, even slowly, than 25 times at half effort or improper form. This all makes sense though because the owner is a medical doctor of chiropractics, and it shows. Not only are the athletes trained properly, COVID protocol is taken seriously. The coaches use a 'do as I do' approach, so the athletes naturally respect them. If you want your kids to run around playing to get energy out, this isn't the place for you. If you want your money and time's worth, and if you want your child to be trained rather than entertained, this IS the place for you!
What about the parents while the athletes train? Triumph has large tables and wifi for parents and/or students to bring in laptops and get their work done. If you need a bite to eat or to squeeze in grocery shopping, those places are located in the same parking lot.
Triumph truly has something for everybody. They offer classes from as young as walking toddlers all the way up through adults. I'm so thankful that our kids have this gym and their coaches in their lives for years to come.

We started classes at Triumph at neighbor’s suggestion and it’s close to our house and have since discovered it is Awesome and we totally lucked out. My girls love coming. Changing review. This was a nice gym with quality coaching but it's gone down hill. Like many other gyms in the area, they now have mostly minimally trained teens teaching the classes and there isn't much value in the coaching unless you join the team.

I am disappointed in the adult class. I briefly took gymnastics as a teen and really enjoyed it. I was looking forward to learning as an adult. Unfortunately being in the small town of Laurinburg there are not opportunities close by. I called gyms and came across Triumph. I was willing to drive 90 miles because it used to be a hobby of mine and I was looking forward to relearning old skills. I took my sister in law as company. We get there and pay the drop in fee. We asked the lady at the front desk if the class is for all levels including beginner’s and she assured us it was. Well come to find out it’s basically free time, as in you do what you want. However, as a beginner, with not a lot of knowledge of proper form or technique, what can you really do on your own unsupervised and not risk seriously hurting yourself? When asked about skills I wanted to learn I was given a tool from the coach to jump over and the coach left to practice his own skills. I kind of got the vibe of ‘try to chuck these skills and hope for the best.’ I guess I’m used to more structure and drills to get correct form and having a spotter. If I would’ve known the class was like that I would’ve stayed in Laurinburg. A waste of half a tank of gas and $15.

I wish I could give zero star. My daughter has been with Triumph for more than a year. There is a tryout event tomorrow that my daughter has been looking forward to participating for a long time. She reminded me many many times she won't miss that event. But unfortunately yesterday she was told that she was not invited. This is immediately after I gave a drop out notice since our family is relocating to another city in June. We are dropping out in June, but we are still paying the tuition for May, why she can not attend the event in May? Please understand for you this is probably a 5 minutes saving of your coach's time. But for her, that's a 5 minutes chance to demonstrate the skills she learned for more than a year. So sad....

We enjoy the environment at TrIumph and our daughter has showed much progress.
They might consider explaining better when they make changes. Their emails are not very clear and cause confusion.
The coaching has changed for the little ones but they work hard to keep things going.
Let me add that TRiumph is absolutely the right place for our daughter. They do work with them on all four phases and do encourage her development.

My 4 yo daughter LOVES gymnastics, and her only experience is with Triumph. She is always very excited to go and she loves all the coaches she's had experience with thus far. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that there have been a lot of changes (= inconsistency) with the preschool classes, at least on the weekend, but I feel like they've gotten things worked out and my daughter is getting a lot out of it.

The worst gym ever! The skills are never checked, coaches are changing constantly, make-ups disappear in their “system”! The only motivation for children are stamps at the end of the class. By the age of 8-10, they had them so many that it really does not mean anything to them. Open gym hours are no longer exist, parkour - cancelled, promised dance classes - never started. Customer service does not care about customers. For any question they try to call management and promise to give the answer later. They never do. What are we playing for?! 😡

My kids have loved Triumph from the time they opened. The kids have learned a lot, and I love the the gym has a high level boys competitive team. My son is still young but the boys are amazing role models. They show us that gymnastics are not for girls. Also, my daughter has limited motor skills. The instructors and staff have been wonderful at building her confidence even though her friends move up without her.
I'm not sure what the previous poster is talking about. The staff is warm and friendly. They are so flexible about last minute schedule changes and always try to accommodate our kids. They also communicate well by both email and phone. We wouldn't go to any other gym than Triumph.

Didn't even get a chance to go here as the payment is very confusing. We wanted to start on Sept 9 and when we start we will pay for the month but the next months payment is due for October on Sept 15. I can't afford to pay 2 months in one month for both my daughters. I also had to pay $35 each for registration. It was too much for one month and there was no give on their part. I guess why would they when they have waiting lists. I am just disappointed for the lack of flexibility, not everyone has a ton of money.

Be careful about payment and make up classes as others have said. Honestly, the teachers were great and our daughter loved it but over the summer when you miss a few classes for vacation - Triumph was not helpful at all in letting us get our classes scheduled and made up. We tried to make some up but unless you are absolutely sure you will go each week, in the end you will start to pay for classes and not be allowed to make it up.
We never write reviews but the customer service (I also see others had the same thoughts) was horrible! Actually very rude to my wife and I on multiple occasions. I try and be more nice to see if that helps (it didn't) but my wife completely blew up due to the front desk being so rude and unhelpful.
So be careful, teachers/instructors great, facility good, staff not!

The facilities are very clean and well equipped, the staff if mostly good - and the kids seem to like the classes. A few down sides - their administration is not the best in terms of timely replies to payment or class changes, some of their classes have a very high student to teacher ratio - they are filling up but they continue to take new kids in :( We may stay a bit longer but also look for options outside

While this place had a nice parkour class, beware of their payment policies. When you pay for a class, they never make you aware of the fact that enrollment is continuous and not by session. Very misleading and they have absolutely terrible customer service when it came to this matter. I signed up for a trial class and then went ahead, after the trial class, to enroll him in the parkour class. I didn't get any information at that time of the payment policies.
To make matters worse, the instructor for the Parkour class had been marking my kid 'present' for class the month of July, when we were not there. I even went so far as to state I will get the receipts of the hotels that we stayed at during the month of July to show that we were not even around and did not attend classes. No remorse from staff.
Very disappointed so please beware!
