Where should I begin. Employment . Having your employees file their own taxes is insane. Blaming them for being closed or having to close because customers aren't buying smoothies is absurd . You closed because customers are canceling their membership . Why because the upkeep of your establishment is terrible. When are you going to tell your customers that the gym is under new management? When ? What made you think you could compete with planet fitness and good bodies ? Let me not get started on the membership contracts .

A scam place to get your credit card! We signed with them twice. The keep telling us different stories. Promised us they don’t need a card if we paid for a whole year. We paid for the year. Then they call us back the next day saying we shorted them, we told them to check the cameras, they said “it looked liked we paid” but clerk is short. Now trying to get our card again after we paid for the whole year and saying they need a card and we can’t get a refund. Asked for manager, was told no, asked for the owner the said they can’t, after owner told us to see him with any problems. A few people told us to go elsewhere, they had the exact experience. We tried staying loyal. Signed up with a better and cheaper place!

Very disappointed on how the contract is setup. I initially did the one year contract where you pay it up front, which is completely fine. What they failed to tell people is that after the one year if you do month to month it is still under a contract. Which you will need to contact a completely different entity to cancel. I only left the gym because I do not live in the area anymore and I moved bases, but this whole process is absurd. If I can signup at the front desk, I should be able to cancel my membership at the front desk. Also the lady up front told me to show them my military orders to cancel my membership, which I did, and it would be taken care of. 7 months later I have an overdue balance of $140 which is whatever, it just the fact that this process is completely unnecessary and I can see why the owner drives a Porshe.

Very clean and quiet gym. I love the high quality metal dumbbells and metal plates. They don't use those cheap rubber hexagon weights like other gyms in the area that I wont name. Great variety of equipment and it's all well maintained. Definitely a great gym and I find myself making the 40 minute trip to this place more often then I should be just because I like this gym so much

Just moved to kinston, me and my girlfriend where looking for a gym.. we went at 4/20 around 8ish and there was a new lady working the front counter, she was very professional and very nice made us feel welcomed, Mohamed as well was very nice and professional and even gave me FREE pre workout & a smoothie when we left the gym, very nice and clean gym, highly recommended this place if your looking for a new gym.

Very unprofessional environment. Was a paying customer. When I would enter the premises I was discriminated against they treated me as though I was not surpose to be there even though I paid my money. There are no word to describe how the owner and his staff made me feel. This establishment gets no star from me. I had to put at least 1 🌟 to post, but in reality no stars.

If negative stars were a thing, I'd do that. While the gym may be nice, what goes on behind the scenes is not. Employees, contractors, etc not being paid for services rendered. Promises of a certain wage being paid and then taken away. Firing and/or cutting the wages/hours of loyal employees and personal trainers for personal vendettas and because you can't budget correctly. Steer clear!!!!

Just moved to Kinston and am looking for good gym to join. Had a certificate for a free 5 day guest pass, but when i went there, the girl at counter told me I could only use gym for one day...and would not honor the certificate. No one gave me a tour of gym, explained fitness classes available, or any other services like the personal training, or even cost of membership. Several of the machines were "out of order" and not working, or heart rate sensors were broken. The customer service here is TERRIBLE and the staff was pretty much non-existent. Still upset they would not honor my 5 day certificate....which is posted on their website. This place is the epitome of Kinston,NC ---- sub par and unhelpful staff. Dont waste your time going here!!!!

Came from out of town and just needed a good gym to workout at for a few days. Came to Golds Gym in kinston and they were absolutely amazing! Super nice service and the gym was really organized and clean! I would recommend this gym to anyone in the kinston area.

Facility is nice but I did not feel welcomed after about 3 months of going to the place. So that is why I never went back to Golds Gym again. I paid my 1 year and plus because there was no mention of having to send a 30 day notification to a separate company that my contract expired after one year. They have been taking money out of my account for three months now and since the little box in the fine print of the contract was not marked there is nothing that company can do now.

Excellent gym! The staff is awesome and always helpful! I moved and joined not long ago and decided to get a personal trainer for the first time. I was nervous at first to have one but the first session I knew he had my best intentions! Billy has been great and every session he adds something new and challenges me! Even when I want to give up he's always right beside me with tons of support! Makes you feel great and accomplished after a workout! On days I'm not training with him, everyone else in the gym is so welcoming and always friendly! Great atmosphere, always neat and always clean! Definitely an inviting gym and "judge free zone" you won't want to leave! Very satisfied and happy with my decision to join!

Love this gym! The staff and management are awesome! Any concerns are immediately address without hesitation. They are always willing to help with any question I've had about weight loss, health, and even a workout I've been doing. They encourage and engage their customers, and I can honestly say I feel right at home when I walk through the front doors. I've been a member for over a year now and I could not see myself going to another gym. I highly recommend anyone to come!

i know this may be long, but.... i joined and paid for a year up front. I even pay and sign a contract for a personal trainer. Things were going fine, and then my trainer (and several other employees) left. I was without a trainer, and they had no other one to supply me with, but they continued to bill me for one. I spoke with the manager, they say ("they" because there is a new manager every couple of months) "i can't do anything, call this number" i call the number and they don't give a damn, and say take it up with the manager. It was an act of congress to get them to stop charging me for a trainer that they couldn't supply me with, finally i managed to get it halted but recieved no refund, so on top of everthing they have me in the hole for about another $120 for the trainer i didn't have. i pretty much stopped going after that, joined a new gym and just figured they stuck me for the $120. recently i get a call asking me when i was planning on paying for this month. do what?? apparently they automatically renew the contracts (fine print, i guess i should have read everything). When I ask to officially cancell my membership, guess what, the (new) manager says "i can't do anything, call this number....." so i call the number, get passed around, and not only do they charge me for one month, they charge me for two because i have to submit a form, in writing 30 days prior, they screwed me, and the worst thing is they just don't care. I own a business, and would never treat people in a manner like this. $120 for a trainer i didn't have and $24.99 for the first month that automatically renewed and another $24.99 for the 30 days of written notice it takes to leave this place. bottom line, if you sign a contract with them then you are screwed!!! please go somewhere else to join.

The gym is fantastic. Their billing company is another story. Read the contract completely. Make sure it doesn't have automatic renewing. Get a copy and keep it. Sign only what you say you are purchasing-membership period and personal training sessions. But as for the gym, equipment, members, and staff...I couldn't ask for anything better. Love the smoothies. Only complaint is the hours. Do wish we could have 24 hour access, or at least later hours on weekends.

I got this membership because I work out after work but when I changed jobs and could no longer go to this gym they tried charging me a $200 cancelation fee.

I figured I'd get a small refund considering I had 4 months left on my contract but no, now I still have to pay the monthly maintenance fee they charge to maintain their equipment besides the membership fee for not using their gym.

I was also informed that my account was set up to auto renew. Something I was not aware of. In order to get this canceled I had to let them know 30 days in advance and send them a written cancelation notice with a bunch of information.

All in all if you plan on going to this gym for the rest of your life, not the worst. But if you ever want to cancel, you better get your lawyer.
