My husband and I have been members here for two years now and really enjoy this gym. Steve and April do a great job of running this place. Steve makes sure this is a solid gym where people are here to workout and not take selfies, record videos or pretend to be influencers. The gym is 24 hours and is under constant surveillance so you always feel safe no matter what time of the day you train. Best gym in the area by far. We love Ultimate!

I’ve been a member to a few local gyms but Ultimate fitness is hands down the BEST. They have the cleanest facility, excellent customer service, quick response time, open 24 hours & has everything you could possibly need to meet & maintain your goals. My daughter had to recently cancel her membership & it was an easy & quick process. The owners actions have always reflected that they truly value their customers/members.

Customer service is lack luster. Called to cancel membership nearly a year ago and the business failed to execute the request. As a result the monthly payments continued to be pulled and the issue was not identified until the card on file was reported stolen. Even knowing I had not been attending the gym, as their system logs individuals upon entry, they still demanded I pay up through December of 2024 before canceling the membership. No offer to refund any of the money that was effectively stolen from me was presented. Would not recommend to anyone based on customer service alone.

I have been a member for over five years. This is by far the best gym I’ve ever gone to. The owner and the staff are delightful and very helpful. They have more than enough equipment for the weekend warrior. Or the hard-core power lifter. I have had nothing but great experiences there and I recommend this gym to everybody.

Not customer service oriented. "Open 24 hours," it says, but there won't be anyone to let you in. There's a keypad to the left of the entrance where members can punch their membership ID to access the gym. If you're not a member, don't bother going. Can't wait to get back to Los Angeles.

This place is open 24 hours for MEMBERS ONLY. Initially, I thought 24 hours applied to anyone who wanted to sign up for a membership. I was asked to come back during a time that was inconvenient to me... Hard pass!

Weights Weights Weights nothing wrong with Planet fitness but this place is designed to get you banging weights gaining shredding loosing whatever fitness goals. Update Fall 2023 the weights still waiting for you the atmosphere is really good people work out no cameras and posing just chill people that are courteous and willing to share their fitness tips it's a great environment to transform or maintain your body this fall and beyond

I love this gym! New to the area and I was so upset to find only a planet fitness. Googled near by gyms and found this beauty. The owners are amazing and straight forward. The price is amazing for a 24/7 gym with a working sauna!!! The also have meals. Haven’t had them yet but plan on getting some very soon.
If you are a real gym rat then this is the gym for you. They make you feel very welcomed. Happy to have found a gym home!

I've been a member of Ultimate Fitness off and on for years and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I've been a member here for over a year, and I agree with ALL of the 5 star reviews. This ain't a "pretty" workout facility with color coded machines that gives out pizza and candy to members. There is no silly "fear of lunks". Yes, they actually have a scale so you can track your progress.

It has plenty of weights and machines. The owners are SUPER nice and professional, and you get the most bang for your buck if you're looking for a REAL workout in a REAL gym (real gyms have squat racks). Highly recommend!!!

I have been in & out of gyms most of my life. I signed up here bc I tend to lean towards small business type of gyms. However this gym must buy thier reviews bc its Nothing like what I have read . Its also nothing like what the owner told me. She promised it would be friendly atmosphere and that she would know my name. It seemed to have pained her to even say “ hello” once my name was on the dotted line & she had my money..
The gym is not clean I have gotten my clothes messed up from the upholostry and rusted metal.The equipment is also very out of date, the bathrooms look like hell and the towels she hands out are dingy. You cant drop the weight or they will kick you out. The mats are old and ripprd up. The physio balls are easy to slip off of.
There is a bar right next to the gym, so if you like to go at odd hours , you might have to deal with drunks from the bar.
If you sign a contract bc your committed to your fitness. Be aware that you sign one to an affiliate company & not the gym itself...
Maybe there was a time, where they loved fitness but I dont think they do right now. They just want the money...

Anytime of day is perfect to go as it's never super busy. I've hardly ever waited for equipment to free up. Abundance of free weights with dumbbells maxing out at 130...140lbs. There is a cross training area available as well. Owner is friendly and accommodating. You can tell he's been doing it for years.

We (my Hubbie, daughter, and me) have been members for about 5 months and love it. I never have a hard time getting access to equipment and it is a fantastic place for women to workout. Plus the personal training is top notch. The owner told me the first week to let him know if I ever have a problem with a man because he won’t tolerate it... and this is the first gym where I haven’t had a single problem. The people here are so nice and highly focused on their fitness. I love it!

I really wanted to like this place, because it’s a small local business, and close to home. However, after being a member for a while, I honestly prefer Planet Fitness over this place. Ultimate Fitness only has the 1 location, and they charge more monthly, than the Planet Fitness black card that allows you access to all of their locations. I travel a lot, and that’s important to me. I’m not impressed with the equipment either, unfortunately. It seems a bit dated. I also don’t feel like a valued member here. After my agreement is over, I will switch back to PF.

THIS IS a REAL GYM!. Not like Planet Fitness (free fatty food while you workout), Not like Golds Gym (time schedules allowing). You take out a membership here, its open all day all night, 24/7/365. This has been one of the BEST if not the ONLY GYM that matters in Gastonia. NOT all fancy equipment but the equipment is NICE! Classes are FREE!, Saunas in each change room! All the weight you can think of to lift till you bust! The owners April and Steve are NO NONSENCE PEOPLE! They want you to treat their gym with respect and the equipment the same way. In doing so they give you the UTMOST respect and go above and beyond to make sure you Happy and Content. I can't imagine going any other place. On top of that at Ultimate Fitness, you also have FitView Personal training run by an awesome man, Jacob Hoyle and his more than qualified staff, as well as onsite Massage, child care and much much more. GET OVER there take out a membership. ULTIMATE FITNESS>>>>>THE ONLY PLACE THAT MATTERS!!!!
