Wanda Kay's School of Dance, Inc. has been teaching children ages 3 & up the joy of dance for 45 years! Developing a well-rounded dancer will help build each dancer's confidence and set them up for more versatile activities such as: theatre, cheerleading, drill team, and much more!
Besides ballet, tap, and jazz we offer a variety of add on classes such as: hip-hop, pointe, lyrical, acrobatics, jazz heels, musical theatre, and more!
In addition, we have a dance troupe consisting of grades 6 and up. Our Dance Troupe has been entertaining New Bern for years! They perform in community events such as the Mum Fest, Town Christmas Parades, New Bern Get Your Color On, & more!

I'm actually surprised there's not more reviews for this place. My daughter joined dance class awhile back. She's about to turn 5 years old. I can't speak for her, though her huge smile after every class would be a tell on its own. If only I could capture that for a review. Here's what I can speak on though. Every dance class I sit with the group of other parents, some brand new and some seasoned dance parents in the waiting room. Which is prime spot to see everything. All the classes going on, the people that walk in and out, and the latest gossip in town. That means I've seen the teachers work together in not just a incredibly professional way but in a family way as well. I see them all working together to ensure ever child is looked after and cared for. Cared for beyond just the basics. They make it super easy to stay up to date on the whole process, events, pictures, what to buy, everything you need to know they walk you through it. The teachers are incredibly patient and it's not what I would consider a toxic environment. Meaning you or your child won't come here and be berated for not being perfect. Wanda Kay's is worth it. As someone who genuinely hates leaving the house, this place feels like another home to my daughter and I. I don't know if she will want to go here forever, but what I do know is they created a core memory, and that to me is everything as a mom.

This has been a great place for my daughter to take dance lessons, improve her self confidence, and refine her skills without feeling pressured or intimidated. She loves this studio and her instructors.

Wanda Kay’s dance company promotes children to enjoy dance and they do not pressure competition. They have helped my daughter grow in her confidence and develope a love for dance.

This studio is amazing! I wouldn't be who I am today without it! It's not just about dance like you would find at some other studios. Wanda Kay's is a family who will support you for the rest of your life. You will make lifelong friends and no matter what your skill level is you will never be denied the opportunity to try!

Great dance studio with an amazing new studio, instructors seem to really know there stuff. Daughter enjoys the hip hop class and ballet/tap/jazz.
