Wilmington Strength is a gym and personal training studio focussed on improving individuals strength, health, and fitness. We offer personal training, semi private training (personal training in a small group with individualized programming), and fitness classes. We help clients loose weight, build muscle, burn fat, and improve strength, health, and performance. Wilmington Strength also provides top notch youth athlete training program. This is a strength, speed, and agility class for kids. Athletes are taught the fundamental of lifting with good form to help increase performance and reduce the risk of injury. Wilmington Strength has been such a great program for my son! He started working out with them in middle school and gained a lot of strength and was able to make the highschool basketball team. All of the coaches are great and work so well the children helping tailor programs to their specific sport as well. I highly recommend this program for middle school/highschool age children, especially athletes!

Wilmington Strength is one of my favorite gyms I have ever been to. I’ve been lifting for over ten years and have worked and trained under many coaches. Matt not only has exceptional coaching skills, but people skills as well. Sometimes it can be intimidating walking into a new gym whether you’re a beginner or seasoned athlete. I was comfortable the first moment I walked through the door. The workouts are challenging, but both Matt and Pat make them fun and are encouraging with every workout. I appreciate the range of ages and athletic abilities and how the coaches tailor each program to fit us individually while not making anyone feel like they’re better or more skilled than the other. I’d give 6 stars if I could, and recommend anyone wanting a coach and to challenge themselves to try Wilmington Strength first!

We have 3 teen girls (soccer players) who train at Wilmington Strength 2 days / week. We’ve seen very evident gains in strength, speed and agility, impacting their game dramatically. The confidence boost this training gives young athletes is second to none! The coaches do a fantastic job of teaching great form that will benefit them for life. It took them a couple sessions to warm up to something so new to them, but once they did the dominos of wins started falling. They love looking at the stats they are achieving too. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Matt and his team at Wilmington Strength. My 14 yr old daughter had no prior experience with weight lifting or strength training outside of volleyball workouts. They quickly got her adapted to equipment and format. She was tested on several things (sprinting, vertical jumps, pull ups, etc) giving her a baseline and building from there. After 30 days her improvements were incredible.
The classes are capped at eight youth attendees, allowing for great connections between the athlete and the coach (unless you attend the track workout, which allows for more athletes).
Matt is patient and very knowledgable. The students seem to really enjoy the shout outs on social media as they hit new PRs. Thank you for creating a positive space for our youth to build, learn and grow.

I love Wilmington Strength because It’s a smaller, but very personable gym that has everything you need to working towards a stronger body, teaching you proper form in lifting weights safely, which is very important for anyone who is starting out.
Matt and Evan are very professional, competent and knowledgeable in what they do. I have congenital scoliosis with a significant mid thoracic curve which causes pain. They made a plan specific to my needs and after training for several months, I can say that my back has never been more pain free—stronger and straighter than ever before!! Thank you, Matt and Evan, I’m very thankful for all you’ve done. I'm more encouraged to work towards a better, healthier and stronger me because of them. I could not be more grateful for the experience I had at Wilmington strength. During my time here, I went from being scared of lifting due to a college injury to finding my love for the gym all over again. I have had a ton of training in the past where I didn’t feel as though a program was catered to my needs and this was definitely not the same. Matt has been training two of my sons and a few of their baseball teammates for about 6 months now. Our original plan was to just train for the summer but the boys enjoyed it so much that we've continued with the workouts throughout the school year. We feel confident that Matt knows the right combination of weight and reps to challenge them but also accommodate their growing bodies. He also focuses on agility which helps with their fielding and base running. These workouts have been a great addition to their baseball practice.

Honestly, after training with Matt I realized how you should train your body instead of just lugging weights at the gym and using all kinds of fancy machines. I used to train with a physical trainer before and boy was I in pain after every session and not feeling that I was getting strong at all. Lifts were always causing me problems on the lower back and he would hardly give pointers to correct the same. I came across Matt's profile on Thumbtack while I was looking to switch coaches and finally I found the right coach who gives complete attention to the client for the session correcting mistakes till you get how to do the movement properly. It is a slow process and Matt has incredible patience, because you need to build strength to pull of a complex lift correctly. The results are now starting to show after training with him for 3 months - I can do proper deadlifts, kettlebell swings, complex movements and add to that my short term goal of doing proper pullups. His training methods improved my posture and my constant back pain is gone and I can see the difference in my strength. If you are looking for a coach who gives you proper attention and makes you work towards your personal strength goal, Matt is the coach you are looking for. He keeps the session fun and throws a new challenge every time to keep things interesting!

I found Strength Farm and Matt while shopping for a trainer to help me to get stronger fast. At 34 years old, with a very busy life and only a few week to train before I headed off to Basic Training with the Army National Guard, I showed up and saw huge results. Matt utilized very simple, doable strength training techniques paired with consistency; along with awesome coaching, encouragement and accountability I went from not being able to do one push up to 15 in a few short weeks. In those few short weeks I gained many simple strength building tasks I now have on my belt to take with me even after our training together. He was able to provide many modifications and unique exercises to make the most of where I was in my recovery. He was always checking in along the way too. Once I was approved to work out harder, he created balanced sequences and programs based on my fitness goals. Matt is a extremely knowledgeable and detailed trainer. He evaluated my specific needs eg. (very sore biceps tendon from too much swimming ) and helped me build up and strengthen the surrounding muscels so i could recover. Also, he has helped me strengthen the areas that needed to be enhanced so that i could be a much stronger 72 year old man.
