I don't usually review places I attend regularly, as I enjoy my privacy. But for this gym, I have to make an exception. The first thing that drew my attention, is that it's not freezing cold, like some other gyms. It's a good vibe, the owner and manager are helpful, and the clientele is motivating and very kind. I would not consider it a "beginner" gym, which is good for me, as I could only go so far with Planet Fitness. For somebody who is a beginner, there is personal training offered. My one request would be a full wall mirror in my favorite part, the yoga room. Overall, a very enjoyable experience at this gym. 🤩

Be careful, you are totally aware of the charges. I was charged almost $200 For 2 months. and it cost me almost $80 just to quit.Be very careful, you know exactly what you're paying with this company. It ended up costing me almost $200 to Get out of a contract I didn't know I had agreed upon. I walked in the door and gave them my credit card to pay $29 for a month and continued getting charged charged for 2 months after I told them I was moving and didn't want to be charged anymore. I was told that that's just the way they do it. But I wouldn't get charged for a 4th month. And all that was on top of sa $39 yearly fee I had already paid and was charged again. Companies like this are the reason they're trying to make it a law that they can't charge you the way this company does it's just blatant theft really

I have been a member since January 2024. I needed a place to escape to for a quick workout 3-5 times a week. This gym is perfect for me. It has a wide variety of equipment from cardio to weight machines to free weights. I use a mix of all. My doctor told me as I age that I needed both cardio and strength training for mobility and balance. I have been super happy with my experience here. Mike the manager has been super helpful, friendly and encouraging. He frequently calls folks by their first name which is a top priority for me as a longtime retail manager. Overall, I really recommend this gym.

Best gym I've ever been to! Most places rely too heavily on cardio equipment and smith machines, but this gym has just enough cardio equipment and a ton of machines to build a perfect workout. Mike and the crew are extremely welcoming and often take time to talk with me and encourage me! Recently they purchased new padding for many machines and even a new rope for the cable machines. Once I accidentally broke a resistance band during my workout and Mike was really chill about it and was far more concerned with my safety than the equipment and they replaced it within a week! Great place!

When I first moved to Cary, one of the first things I was looking for was a good gym and I found it at Workout Anytime in Cary! The atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting. I love the variety of equipment they offer. The women’s restroom are always clean which is yet another pro. Also, Michael is so helpful and nice every time I see him at the gym, he even created a nutritional guide which has helped me tremendously on my journey to better eating. My family and I were members for more than 7 years. The equipment and condition of the gym has gone completely downhill. The women’s bathroom is never cleaned. There’s nothing worse than going in and seeing both toilets aren’t flushed and the trash is overflowing. The ropes are frayed beyond use, one of the seated rows has a near broken cable, one cable station has been broke for months! No one cleans the gym or equipment, the 2 and 5 pound plates are always stacked behind a ton of 45s. The current manager Michael is probably the coldest, most unfriendly person I’ve ever met. When I asked if they would get more ropes he said they go bad too quickly to bother replacing! On top of it my son went in to workout and he tried to tell him our card was expired even though they literally charged me for our membership the day before. Mike calls me complaining and starts talking about some guy named Carlos who I don’t even know. When I tell him he just charged my card he hangs up on me! It was no longer worth the headache so we canceled all 4 memberships. I’d rather pay double than support a gym the owner and manager clearly don’t care about.

This is a very small gym, it is perfectly suited for BEGINNERS (mostly, mainly), the equipment is in perfectly working condition, it is clean and the staff is nice.
But, it is very very small, there is not enough equipment. Very limited variety of machines, and not multiple.
This gym is not big enough for bodybuilders, competition level or not, nor anyone with machine heavy workout routine.
There's a good amount of cardio equipment and free weights.
It is cozy, tight, and has limited equipment , And most importantly, no hack squad machine 😂.
But it is okay, overall.
Some side policies; the free trial is only for one day; personally, I need a few days to work out at different hrs of the day, in order to evaluate correctly,
You're allowed to bring a guess only once a year I think, I don't like that, but it is not necessary a deal breaker.

I’ve been working out here for a year and a half and like it a lot. It’s a great neighborhood gym, clean and compact. I can get in and out quickly after hitting my favorite weight machines. There is also a Hydro massage machine that is awesome for working out muscle kinks. Recommend if you are looking for a smaller compact gym at a great monthly price.

The place is open 24/7. Should you be interested in joining Workout Anytime Cary, you can come during normal working hours and a member of the staff will listen to you and give you a tour of the facility. Once you join Workout Anytime Cary, a certified trainer can coach you so you will feel at home learning and practicing exercises that are tailored to your needs.

I've been exercising in gyms for over forty years. I've traveled to many countries around the world during my life, and I must tell you that I feel at home when I go to Workout Anytime Cary.
Recently, I started adding dancing (let's call it aerobic dancing) to my routines when I go to gyms in different countries. It may look a bit weird at the beginning, but I've found that music and dancing is the best therapy when you are going through tough times or are facing unexpected challenges.
Some people deal with it adding breathing exercises and hydro massaging to their normal routines, but you may want to try a little of dancing too. You must overcome the feeling of being watched by others, but believe me, it is worthwhile, even you I must warn you, in some places they may start seeing you as a gay person, and you better not pay much attention to it.
One way to overcome feeling weird would be by dancing in other places besides gyms, such as grocery stores and parking lots. I started doing it recently and, to my surprise, in a grocery store, they clapped when I finished dancing solo while selecting few products from a stand. Yesterday I was approached by a member of the staff who asked me whether I was teaching dancing, which I have never considered doing, but that got me thinking. I may consider offering free lessons helping others to learn free solo dancing, but not at Workout Anytime Cary. Time will tell.

I have been going to this gym since Sept 2023 and have been super happy with it! I have Mike as my trainer and he is by far the best personal trainer I have ever had. I struggled for quite a while before starting and he helped me lose 20lbs in about 2 months. He is patient, honest, so knowledgeable and I am so happy I found him!! This gym advertises a free trial all over their website, but they did everything possible to prevent us from using it. My husband and I were comfortable paying full price for memberships, $40 per month, as it’s the closest gym to us and we don’t need much, but when my husband requested the trial he was promised, they regressed into uncomfortable sales tactics that made it clear they weren’t interested in honoring the trial. They instead tried convincing him with discount codes and fee waivers to sign a contract right away, so he left. If you would like to try a gym before committing, this isn’t the place to go.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this gym. Friendly and helpful staff, clean atmosphere, lots of equipment, access to all Workout Anytime facilities (great while traveling), 24x7 gym access, and a reasonable monthly fee. Very good value IMO. There's also access to tanning, hydro-massage, and personal trainers. The trainers aren't obnoxious and they don't pester you (like the trainers do at many other gyms).

Workout anytime in Cary is the place to get in get an intense workout in and go about your day! Crowd is very light just about all times with it being 24 hours allowing members to come at all hours. What an amazing gym! I've been going to Workout Anytime off and on for a few years. It's always been a good gym but they have really stepped up. The biggest changes started when Ahmad joined the staff. He's constantly cleaning and making sure that everything is in place. The entire staff is friendly but it seems like he knows everyone and is always pleasant and happy to help. They have added new equipment adding benches and squat racks clearing out any wait times that I had before. Speaking of benches and sqats, I have made significant improvements to my lifting thanks to Ahmad and his willingness to share his expertise. I will outline just a brief synopsis of one of the many issues I’ve experienced throughout my tenure here. A week ago I came in to train, scanned my badge and was not allowed access, after getting incorrect information from multiple employees, owner then apologizes to me and say that they froze the wrong account by accident. After that he proceeded to tell me even though I did not do actually do this I am now responsible for past a past due balance and late fees. Outside of this gym there is a sign that states “$1 enrollment on any plan today”. I was charged $20 and when I asked for a refund the employee refused and also refused to take down the misleading sign. The employee at the front desk stated that the owner knows there is inaccurate information on the sign and does not want it to be taken down. I cannot support this business especially when the business owner knowingly misleads his customers/members. It’s not because of the well kept, updated equipment, it’s not because of the cleanliness, it’s not because of the services offered which include tanning and water massage, it’s not because of the easy in and out location or the good music they play... It’s because of the people! The quality of people that use this gym is second to none. Just as important, the reason these good people continue to use this location is the caring staff. Great gym to get in a workout. Never terribly crowded and the equipment is kept in great condition and clean. Nice combination of machine and free weights plus a variety of cardio training machines. The manager, Rick, is very professional and also a great motivator. I've had some surgeries and Rick has been very helpful with recommending exercises suitable for my circumstance.

I have been a member of Workout Anytime, Cary for two and a half years. This is my first experience going to a gym (except for Curves, which is not in the same category), and it has been excellent. Since the gym has been under now ownership, new equipment has been added and the gym is cleaner than before. The equipment is in good repair, and the staff is always friendly and willing to help.

Joined about a month ago and am really pleased. It a clean and bright gym with plenty of equipment, and lots of TVs.. I've never had to wait for a cardio machine. Price is a real bargain, and staff and members are extremely nice. The round-the-clock access is a real plus because I can rarely fit in a workout during normal business hours.

Easy quick enrollment and matched the online price. Non intimidating place. Super nice easy to use treadmills and equipment. Nice clean bathrooms and lots of locker space. A lack of a professional and appropriate response to a health concern forced me to cancel my membership at Workout Anytime on Maynard Road in Cary today. I have been a member since June 12th of this year, and up until today, have enjoyed my daily workouts, in a location only a block from my home.

While working out around noon today, I noticed a young man in his mid-twenties (?), with large, rash-like, open wounds that covered the upper cheeks on both sides of his face. At first, I thought it was some kind of strange makeup due to it being so red. He was doing quick, single sets of exercise on most of the resistance machines. When he sat down at a machine next to mine, I could see ooze from both wounds that appeared to have blood in it, that was running from the wound areas, down his face and halfway down his neck.

Totally freaked out and concerned, I approached Rick, the Manager, who had been standing at the computer located at the front entrance. I told Rick about the fellow's condition, the fact that he had been on most of the equipment and had not wiped any of it down with the provided disinfectant and paper towels. I also told Rick that if the young man had any type of communicable disease, it would quite likely be spread to other members.

Rick told me that he would speak with the person, and believing that he would, I went back to my equipment to finish my sets. Five to six minutes later, after finishing my sets, I checked and saw that Rick was still at the computer. I changed over to some equipment that I did not see the young man using. After several more minutes, and Rick still standing at the computer, I became upset enough to go to him and say that if he was not going to remedy this potentially hazardous situation, then to go ahead and cancel my Membership, effective immediately!

Well, that inspired Rick to finally act. Rick approached the young man, and I have no idea what was said, but the fellow went into the Men's Room. He came out in a few minutes and resumed his exercises.

Allowing this fellow with seeping wounds to remain in the facility and potentially place other members in serious risk was too much for me. I gathered my belongings, went up to Rick at the front desk and told him to cancel my Membership. Rick told me that the guy told him that He was a "Physician", and gave him some name for His condition. My response was "How do you know he was telling you the truth? What if he did not tell you the Truth? It may be a chance that he was telling you a lie, but that chance could place your other members health in jeopardy!"

I added that he could have, and should have, politely asked the young man to leave the facility and return when he was healed, the wounds properly covered, or could provide proper documentation that indicated that he posed no threat of a communicable disease. I'm pretty sure that no reasonable person would find that request to be offensive.

So, in the end; either Rick did not have the gonads to approach the Gentleman and do the right thing, or just did not care about Member Health and Safety. As of today, I am no longer a Member of Workout Anytime, and if you are considering a Membership... you should ask them about their current policy when it comes to people using the facility with open and oozing wounds!

This situation, in and upon itself, earns the One-Star Review.

I only had one workout here, but this place is freaking awesome. Rick is a humble big man. He is all about helping you, training, and etc. The one thing about the place is there is no grunts, half dresses women, no smell, etc there. For 15 a month that is not bad. It may be a small place, but it get the job done. I'm going to join here in about month or two. Only because I really do feel like I'm getting my money worth.

The personal trainers are a great asset but if that's not your thing there's no sales pressure like at some of the fitness giants. And the Hydro-massage is the best. Definitely worth a look.

Great place. Owner and staff always makes sure to greet and smile when walking by. Clean and modern equipment. The prices are more than fair.
If I were to pick the negatives.. during peak hours (4p-6p), it doesn't take much for it to be crowded with how small the gym is. Also, if you don't like cages to do your squats in, you'll have to improvise because that's all they have.

I have been a member for about 5 months. It is a great atmosphere for all types of fitness. The staffing is very nice, informational and helpful. Also, the other customers or gym goers are very friendly.

I asked Keith and his team to get a certain piece of equipment for their cable machine and shortly after it showed up. The staff listens to what you need or would like.

The price is amazing whether your in college, just graduated college like me or if you just want a gym that has all you need.

I have been a member ever since they opened. I have been a member of numerous gyms, and I am fairly serious about lifting. I don't often write reviews, however, in the case of Workout Anytime, it is warranted.

If your looking to swim, play racquetball or mill around the gym eating bagels and hanging out (as I've witnessed all too many times at other gyms), then go somewhere else, please. However, if you're a budget-minded individual who enjoys a good variety of cardio, machines and free weights (among other things like tanning and a massage machine), then this is the place for you.

Since day one (actually 8/13), the staff has been nothing but accommodating and courteous. I speak from a lot of encounters. For the sake of brevity, I shall provide two examples of said encounters. First, prior to having a major shoulder surgery, the owner, Keith, worked with me in what I consider to be above-and-beyond in holding my membership. He worked with me so that I could freeze my account and not incur a monthly charge while recovering. This allowed me to start back up without incurring a new startup fee.

Second, upon joining the gym, I took stock of several pieces of equipment that I felt could make my experience at the gym more enjoyable ( i.e. 100 lb dumbbells, parallel bars, waist chain and flat bench. Keith was very receptive, and in less than a month, all the items had been purchased. I was pretty impressed at this point.

Lastly, you can't beat $15 or $25 a month for what you're getting. When I joined I was working nights, and needed a place I could workout on my off days after normal hours. Naturally, this gym fit the bill. Also, don't be fooled by what may appear to be a small gym. I have been a member of gyms that were much larger, and had felt more cramped than I ever have here. They utilized the space perfectly, and I very rarely have ever had to wait for a piece of equipment. Even during peak times, the gym never feels too crowded.

Keith and staff, thank you for making my past three years both enjoyable and accommodating. I look forward to being a member as long as I am in the area. Keep up the good work!!

I've been going to Workout Anytime for over two years now, and I've had nothing but good experiences. The price is extremely reasonable, in fact I don't understand how they stay in business at $15/month. The place is nothing fancy, no sauna, no pool or any of those other amenities that you never use anyway, so if all you need is a fully equipped gym with cardio machines and weights, then this is for you. They do have a tanning bed and a water massage table that is included in the higher tier membership, so if you're into those things I don't imagine you'll find a less costly package solution that allows you 24/7 access and unlimited use. The best parts, for me, are that they play 96 Rock when I'm working out during lunch, so I don't have to wear headphones to avoid that nerve-grinding gym music you usually get at these places, and that the place never seem to be crowded, so there's no line at the machines. As a bonus, you also don't get a lot of grunting gym rats, score! Keith and his crew are always friendly and helpful with any questions, and the place feels more like a small family. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Extremely overpriced and rude. Very hard to take a guest with you unless it's within office hours, even if you are only free in the morning.

Other reviews state that they will overcharge you even after you cancel your memebership, I didn't believe it at first, but I do now. They accumulated $79 dollars of charges in two days on my account, when I called to resolve the issue, the owner wouldn't even talk to me, completely ignored me when I went to visit. Save yourself the time and money, just go to planet fitness.

This place is a real value. For 15 bucks a month you have 24 hour access to aeorbic equipment, free weights, showers, etc. Everything you really need. Did I use my membership....well......at first a whole bunch and then later not so much, but I never felt bad about it since it was only costing me 15 bucks a month. I think you can suspend it if you want but because it was so inexpenisve I just kept it and went whenever it struck my fancy.

I will also say that I never had to wait for equipment and now that I am moving they did not hit me with a bunch of fees which I really appreciated.

The way the math broke down for me is like this. You can get an ok treadmill for 300 bucks on amazon if you do not want to run outdoors. Membership for a year is still less than that and I did not have to claim a bunch of space for free weights and a treadmill in my house.

Very reasonably priced for a 24 gym in Cary NC. Had a problem with the keycard opening the door after hours (as in, it didnt work at all for several days after signing up). Management was able to fix the issue in a timely and courteous manner, though. Also, having to return the keycard (small plastic card, think grocery store club card) or pay $20 fine is a little ridiculous.

That aside, clean/working equipment, clean bathrooms, good atmosphere. If I ever move back to the area, I'll join again without question.

I have been using the Club since it opened a couple of years ago and I like it a lot.

Owner Keith Fenn personally supervises every detail and it shows. I like dealing with businesses where the owner is accessible, and Keith is. He and the staff have been accommodating to me. I think he has made a better trade-off than some other clubs in areas such as the loudness of the music. At some clubs, it is obnoxiously loud, to the extent of making it impossible to fully enjoy one's own music through headphones.

I like going at night, but the Club is not overcrowded in the daytime either.

The Club has emphasized security and proper behavior, and I think that, along with the location, is paying off as I notice a lot of women using the Club even at night.

I do not see the broken equipment that one sees at some other clubs.

I have had no payment issues.

First off all this gym has nothing but positives. Keith and his staff are phenomenal in customer service and always take care of a problem if one occurs. Tucker is a great trainer as well who knows how to successfully train clients to perfection (as that is what he did with me). The gym is always being cleaned and you are always greeted with a smile. I chose this gym because of the proximity to my house and the price. I would probably pay more for my membership because of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. You are always greeted by name with a warm welcome. They keep the cleaning solution and towels fully stocked. The members are awesome as well. They help keep the place clean and organized unlike a lot of other gyms. It also does NOT smell! Thank god!

I haven't used their trainers because I do my own workout but a lot of members use them so they have to be pretty good.

If you are looking for a clean, friendly, low pressure gym then this is the place to join.

Yet another fitness rip off! Advertises $15 per month, no contract yet to cancel your membership it cost more than twice the monthly dues. Let's not forget the annual dues to help with keeping the facility and equipment clean (should that not be basic business practice that I should not have to pay for). Finally the staff, ask questions and their response will include: "I'm not sure but...", "I think...", "Maybe.." and " I guess...". The 2 stars represent the clean appearance that the members pay for with their annual dues. I've been a member of many gyms and this place was hands down the worst.

I joined because it was close to my house and cheap. Big mistake.

The small locker room smelled TERRIBLE on a regular basis.

When I joined on a month-to-month basis, I was told there was no penalty for canceling the membership. But then, when I cancelled, I was charged a $35 cancellation fee. When I complained, I was told it's policy. I was also charged $20 for not returning the cheap, thin piece of plastic members scan to sign in (the type public libraries, grocery stores, and many other places give out for free). When I complained, I was told to read the fine print.

There was one nice staff member. The others (including the manager) seemed arrogant and rude.

They often vacuum during peak hours, which is loud and annoying.

It was often un-staffed during business hours. So, if there's a problem with the equipment, good luck, you're on your own.

In case you're wondering...

No racquetball court
No basketball court
No group fitness
No sauna
No steam room

This place isn't even worth the relatively low rates. Save your money. And if you do join, read the fine print very very carefully because they'll nickel and dime you.

Even though it's smaller than all of those other huge gyms like O2 and lifetime it has everything you could need for any type of workout. The people both behind the desk and the other members are fabulous, friendly and relatable. After only a short time being a member I find myself coming in more and more to workout but also for the company that seems like a second family.
