Went in to discuss membership and no one was at the desk, no one came to talk to me. Waited 10 minutes and then left. The place looked very dark and dreary. Didn't seem safe since the door is unlocked during the day and there is no one around to see who is entering.
UPDATE: Glad I read the reviews, looks like I dodged a bullet!! Thank you to everyone who wrote a review about their cancellation issues. Looks like I will join Planet Fitness before joining this place, even if it's 10 minutes closer than either location!!

I switched to this gym a couple of months back and I can say I have felt welcomed everytime I walk in. My trainer Caitlyn has helped me so much. Teaching me new things and bettering myself. I look forward to each of my sessions. I know she is not going to make the session easy for me but she makes it fun. Truly blessed to have found this gym and Caitlyn as I am making positive changes to my heath.

This gym is honestly a scam. When I first tried to cancel I was told no manager was there and to just write my name on a sticky note and they would handle it. Of course nothing was ever done with it. Then when I called again they said they were under new management and I suddenly had to be a member for a year, which was never in the contract I signed.

My boyfriend went through the same exact thing. After trying multiple times to cancel he finally just switched his card to stop the payments and they still sent him to collections.

I’ve been trying to cancel for almost a year and I finally went in today and supposedly got it canceled. Now I just have to wait and see if they actually stop charging me next month. If they don’t then there’s going to be bigger issues.

After reading other reviews I realized this is not just me. This is a recurring issue here and it’s clear they do it on purpose. The whole thing is shady and unprofessional. If you’re thinking about joining, do yourself a favor and pick a different gym.

These people are scam artists. They tried charging my card every 3 days for like 2 months. I got a new card and didn’t want a membership anymore and figured it would just close out. Nope. They keep trying then send a threatening letter saying I owe them 200$ when I haven’t been in their gym for months. After a month of non payment, they kept my membership open and charged late fees over and over.

Also do you like going to the gym and watching groups of teenagers sneak in? Do you like listening to teenagers yell racial slurs while you work out? I cannot stress this enough: avoid Workout Anytime and ABC Fitness Solutions at all costs. My husband and I canceled our memberships YEARS ago. We don't even live in the area anymore! We were assured multiple times by staff over the phone that our accounts were closed and we would no longer be charged.

Yet here we are in 2025 — my husband was still being billed for years until he closed the bank account linked to them, and now they’ve somehow moved on to trying to charge me, even though my membership was also canceled long ago.

We’ve called numerous times, spent hours explaining the situation, and each time we were told it was “handled.” Clearly, it wasn’t. This is predatory billing and borderline fraudulent behavior.

At this point, I want:

A full reimbursement for every unauthorized charge made to my husband’s account.

Immediate confirmation that ALL accounts tied to us are permanently closed.

Written proof that our information will not be used again for future billing attempts.

Until then, I’ll be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC.

Consumers deserve better than being hounded for payments on “closed” accounts. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from this company.

Plenty of machines and lots of room. The environment is amazing and the employees are phenomenal. I've been working with a trainer named Owen and would highly recommend him. He pushes me to keep digging but not in a manner that comes off as rude or disrespectful. I also really love that it's 24/7 and not super populated all the time.

The massage chairs tend to be broken more than accessible. The 24 hour access is a plus. Evenings tend to be very clustered and machines. are not accessible. The early am is always the best time. There seems to be a group that thinks they can just hang out,climb on machines as if they are at the zoo. I keep my membership due to the close to home.

Very attentive associates, and clean gym to enjoy some physical activity at. The tanning beds are clean and well kept also. I have been a member for a couple months now and never feel I comfortable with my surroundings as a female also. I’ve been as early as 3:30 in the morning and as late as 8 pm. I cancelled my membership back in October because I relocated for work. I completed all necessary paperwork and paid the fees to do so. To this day, I am still being charged as if I'm a member. Every time I call the gym, I'm told that the manager is busy and will call me back. I never receive a phone call back. I contacted corporate to see if there was anything that could be done and they just tell me to send an email to the franchise owner. I've done so multiple times and no one replies. I relocated for work. I cannot possibly utilize this gym if I wanted to at the moment. Why are they still taking my money after I did everything asked of me to end the contract? This has been a disappointing experience and has made me never want to join another gym again out of fear of something like this occurring once more.

I don't know or care aboukit rt whatever contract a person signs that person should be able to discontinue there membership at any time. Good spacious area inside has both heavy weight section and use to have a lighter weight matt area which is great but overpast several months, they have completely took light weights section out of the main room at this point into the back area where you have to have access to use girly light weights. Makes no sense. They have wipes instead of the spray bottles and paper towels like some of the other locations. It does get packed during evening hours. Stop pushing girlies out of the main room and bring back lightweights and all seems good to me.

Was a member for over 2 years. Canceled two months ago because I moved. They took another payment out of my account the month after I canceled. I called them and all they would say is they’d look into it and that I probably would not be refunded. I asked that my card be deleted completely from the account and was assured it had been deleted and there would be no more charges. A month later guess what… yep charged again.
I’ve had to dispute it with my bank and block charges from WOA completely. And now have to wait a week to get a new card. I’ll never rejoin or join another WOA. Period. I’m a single mom of 4 so that $29 might not mean much to you but it does to me.

The inside is nice but don’t be fooled! The trainers are very pushy! I got the personal training sessions and was going through a lot at the time and asked to cancel them. They would not and said it was a contract. I also heard trainers talking about me in their office while I was being trained! They trap you with the contract and empty promises! A great gym to go to if you live in the area. I love the welcoming energy of the staff. My trainer Tim is an amazing trainer, great guy with a fun personality, and definitely hits whatever you need head on. My first session with him showed results. I had went to him for help with back and shoulder pain. There's something about him that makes me feel safe to come out my comfort zone. Just a few months in and I'm already pain free in my back, even with heavy work loads, and my shoulder has an increased endurance and range of motion. If you are looking for an excellent trainer, Tim is your guy. Love working with him and I greatly appreciate the effort he put into each of our sessions.

I brought my son here for a membership in February. They said they needed a parents info and card to out on file as well, so I did. My son stopped going after a few times because the staff made him uncomfortable, and not one time did they try to charge me or my son, try to contact anyone and just decided to send the bill to collections. 400 some dollars a few times, because why not. Went up there today, and the staff was oblivious or something and unprofessional. When I asked them, they said none of my info or anything was in the computer, and for some reason they sent a letter 5 months later to an address I did not give them. So the staff essentially did nothing, never charged us, never bothered to contact anyone because the info just disappeared, even though you can't sign a minor up without parents info from what I was told. Not only that, the membership is only 40 bucks a month, not 440. But who cares, they want to sue a minor for all of this. Months later and a couple 440$ charges sent to a 14 year old kid because the employees did nothing at all. This place is a scam.

I called this gym in APRIL as my personal trainer was no longer working there and it no longer fit my schedule. I cancelled my membership and was assured that I would only have one final payment and would not be charged again.

To my surprise, I was charged again and called once more; speaking to a manager, I was told that there would be no further payments charged to my account

Somehow, I have been charged every month since then. This is absolutely unacceptable, I have not used this gym in months and therefore should not be paying for it; especially considering I cancelled my membership months ago!

UPDATE - After MULTIPLE emails with the owner and management, this issue is STILL NOT resolved. All I have received is excuse after excuse with no clear resolution. Do NOT trust this business, they WILL NOT stop charging your card once your membership is cancelled!

I have called & emailed about this issue, with no resolution. Does one need to get a lawyer involved to cancel a simple gym membership with this company?

‘My trainer left, and the gym didn’t try and do anything to keep me. They’re forcing me to continue paying $442 per month by auto drafting my account and threatening to hit my credit. Also they over charged me about $1000 and it took forever for me to get it back don't know if I even got the full refund. We joined in January of 2023. At that time, the staff was very friendly and seemed interested in the clients. When Selby and Jared were there they always spoke and made us feel welcome. The staff now seems to change every time we go and we go 4 days a week. They have very little to do with anyone but themselves. The customer service is suffering which is not a good look for regular attendees. It is no longer friendly or welcoming. We don't even know who does actually work there as they do not wear staff shirts. We go early in the morning when there are not many people there so it's not like we are "lost in the crowd".

Why I should have to pay another annual fee AFTER canceling my membership is beyond me. I have lived in Hickory for 20 years now. I know the gyms around this area. This is probably the most deceiving group of individuals that work there. I know people that have previously worked here and have told me the awful things said from the employees. I also have multiple friends who previously have gone to this gym (all of which have cancelled their memberships if that tells you anything). But let me tell you about my experience. Now I know a contract is a contract, but the fact they do their business off of lies SPEAKS volumes. First of all, they straight up lie to you from the very beginning. Upon the start of my contract, I was told that if I signed up, we would receive a free shirt. I never received it even after a year later and after reminding them towards the beginning. I have another friend who had the same exact experience and she did not receive it as well.
Next, the space of the area is so small and super crammed in. They have consistently told me and my other workout friends that “they will be expanding within the next month or so”. They still haven’t expanded, so I stopped going here.
Upon cancelling, I called in advance ON A BUSINESS DAY so that I could cancel since my contract finally expired. They told me that the “manager” was out and I had to come in the following days. (Note: they consistently tell people that the “manager is out” as they have so far told every single friend of mine the SAME EXACT THING upon any issues that they have had in relation to pausing their membership or cancelling, etc)
So, I go in on the Last day DURING business hours as I was TOLD I could cancel until today. Upon cancelling, I noticed a charge was made on the same exact day of cancelling. I asked him about this charge and he kept changing up his reasoning for this charge. I knew he was lying from the very beginning as I read over the contract with my uncle (as he’s a lawyer). Nowhere in the contract does it state that you get a $30 charge for a previous freeze on an account THE DAY OF CANCELLATION. ((((On contract it states something similar to: There will be a $5 per month fee per each month that you freeze it and you can not freeze it no more than 3 months))))
I knew this going in, so I repeatedly kept asking him to thoroughly explain the reasoning for this charge just for pure entertainment as he kept hesitating and stumbling upon his words and making up about 3 completely different stories as to what the charge is for.
So, in conclusion don’t go here unless if you have daddy issues and enjoy being lied to by grown men who can’t even speak without stumbling on their words 😍
Workout anytime, you can have my $30 that you took out of my pocket for absolutely no reason 😍 I work in social media, and in this profession we know just HOW MUCH word of mouth TRULY matters (: I have ALREADY suggested to so many of my coworkers to not go to this gym due to my horrid experience and because of many others. They also never in depth told us of all fees n failed to tell my fiance that 15 minutes was to long for him in tanning bed so he ended up in e.r . A great gym if you’re starting your fitness journey, the downside is the contract but it’s an investment to stay consistent for me. I also enjoy the free weight here for beginners. I love how its 24/7 so it works with anyone’s schedule but I do wish it was bigger since it can get crowded. I would say I’ve made a lot of progress at this gym and I’m glad I started off here. The workers are very chill.

Whatever you do don’t join this gym especially online. I call to cancel my membership because I had good intentions but being in healthcare I have spent all my time at the hospital so, they said considering I signed up online that they can’t cancel my membership for a year and that if I want to call my bank to stop that they would send it to collections, what kind of BS is that! I can only imagine them telling others that and if they do then I can see them not lasting much longer on springs road. Any other gym in Hickory or Conover that you join you can cancel anytime you like.
This is exactly how you run people off and make a bad name for yourself. There are other gyms that is about you not your money.

Honestly probably one of the worst gyms Ive been to personally. It’s cool if you go late night since it’s 24/7 gym but besides that, I would go to another gym. You have egotistical kids, the “CPT’s” don’t know nothing (you’re better off watching youtube videos for free), and all the machines are crowded. Oh and, don’t even get me started with the dumb contract they don’t explain to you when you sign up where you have to keep paying monthly for a year or two (btw they don’t explain that you). All these good reviews are probably fake or they paid someone to give them a good review because ain’t no way this gym is a 4 star.

Terrible service. This location withdrew an extra $50 from my fiancé's account and they will not work with us to get our money back to us. Every time they say they will talk to the manager. We have even went in person to see the manager with our bank statements and nothing has been done. As of now we have another meeting set up to meet with the manager. We will see if we get our money back.

Workout Anytime is by far the best gym in the area! There's a great selection of equipment, it's also 24/7. The gym is always very clean and the staff is AMAZING! If you end up signing up for the personal training, I cannot reccomend Erin enough. She is absolutely wonderful!

Great people and great gym. It does get crowded right after “normal” workdays around 5-7pm and you do have to end up waiting for machines sometimes. I had the chance to try out a couple trainers here, I do recommend Selby for your HIIT workouts and Imre for upper body workouts. They always killed it. Unfortunately I did have to cancel my membership because I had to move and the whole cancellation process took longer than I thought but not their fault but rather the franchise’s fault. Other than that, no complaints here. Great environment.

Updated: Originally everyone was so nice and allowed me to bring my 6 year old daughter and let her color pictures in a private room so that I could workout...they later told me that they couldn't allow me to bring her anymore due to someone leaving a bad review which was a lie. I cancelled my gym membership there due to being lied to and them not being accommodating for kids.

A bit on the "chain" side, but perhaps that's a given. Being open 24/7 and much closer to my house than Planet Fitness makes it a necessary and okay addition to the gyms I frequent.

At night, the only real time I go here, there seems to always be a chill to the gym, which requires me to warm up well on cardio even before doing light lifting. The atmosphere is also somewhat dim and grungy, and I often feel as if I am the only one wiping down my equipment. The music, though not typically something that bothers me because I wear earbuds 98% of the time for workouts, for some peculiar reason seems to frequently be stuck on playlists of Christian rap.

During the day, on the few days I went in early evening, the gym seemed a bit busier than it could smoothly handle. I'm used to waiting for a machine or two, or a set of weights, but there just isn't a lot to go around in a gym this small. Luckily, that is not an issue during later night.

But otherwise it's an alright place. It has a decent range of equipment (again, probably all they could fit - though it's efficiently planned), plenty of cables, and a full set of dumbbells and EZ-bars, and free plates (though not a ton of plates - I often wonder how they stretch between all the free weight stations during the busier day hours) for an adjustable EZ-bar typically situated at the preacher bench. I do like the narrower and more varied pull-up grips all around and the arm on the bench press stations that helps you unrack heavy bars without a spotter lifting it off for you. Some small quality of life improvements that I wouldn't mind seeing at my primary gym.

I love this gym in comparison to others I’ve used in the past. The gym is always clean. I can’t even give this gym one star considering the lack of communication and professionalism that has been shown to me in regards to the following. The only reason one star is reflected is bc i had to rate them in order to post. This review is to speak for personal training. I have been with the gym for over a year now and I have loved it, up until I decided to personal train for a few months to keep me motivated during the winter season. I am not a beginner whenever it comes to lifting so I asked for an intense workout. I started training with someone I thought would really push me. I was promised a meal plan, assessments, weigh ins, and different training exercises. In the beginning it went great but after a few weeks it was not what I expected. I never received a meal plan. I never once weighed in after the first day. I was also doing only 2-3 different exercises for the entire time during my session. At the end of my 2nd month my trainer quit. I had two remaining days left of that month so I finished it out with another trainer. There has only been one person who I’ve felt truly cared about what happened and that was Celby. I have spoken to managers many times! I’ve been on the phone and sent emails about this. You would think after this many attempts to resolve this issue that someone would contact me! No one has ever called me. I was told I couldn’t be given the owners name or any type of contact information. I’ve left my information and still no response has been given. The only thing i have ever received was another copy of my contract. I was still charged for the third month, although I received no training. My only request is to be reimbursed for what I did not receive. I completely understand business and I completely understand what was agreed upon but I also did not get what was in the agreement on their terms. I am very frustrated because this has not been resolved after two months. It is very unprofessional and unacceptable for any business.
