I love this studio. The room is cozy, light filled with high ceilings, and modern. The yoga teachers are caring and superbly knowledgeable of yoga technique and philosophy.

Y2 is the best hot yoga studio in Charlotte and beyond. The instructors are excellent and the flow is high energy. So many physical and mental benefits of practicing here.

I love Y2! I started coming to Y2 at the urging of a friend about 6 months ago. The changes I have seen in my body & mind when I’m practicing regularly are AMAZING!! I credit this to y2 & to my favorite instructor Faith. She is funny, attentive, and helps me to connect spiritually to the practice. She’s clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about this and I can’t express how important that is to me! She also has the best music lol. I love working out but Y2 & Faith make it feel like so much more! I really appreciate the sense of community here. Thank you to Y2 & Faith for making my life exponentially better!!!

Please stop packing your room full of people, we are not sardines. Paying $69 a month is not worth the inability to stretch for an hour.
To further explain: Imagine doing half poses for an hour and you don’t have the ability to fully extend.

I love hot yoga but sometimes these classes feel like you’re in a Petri dish of everyone’s sweat. Imagine being in a small room, super crowded with heat and humidifiers on full blast. You have people sweating all over your mat because there’s just no space, and you can feel the lack of oxygen and you try not to think about the fact that you’re breathing in other people exhales.
The instructors and style of the classes are great and maybe if they limited the number of people in class then I would have no complaints. To put 60people in that small room is too much.

There is only one thing I don't like about this place but otherwise it is truly great, I genuinely enjoy the sense of community and passion for yoga which works in tandem to create an really enjoyable atmosphere. I thought I'd miss yoga one being in this studio but I think Y2 has done an excellent job of stepping in and taking over. The one criticism I have is actually for the owner, Tanner, who also instructs a couple classes a week (unfortunately). His quality of instruction is below the rest of the staff he has working there and it's pretty obvious. His classes don't have as much flow to them as he'll play some pretty horrendous music (particularly for yoga) that always has significantly more energy and pace than the flow itself (but more on that in a minute). One of my bigger issues is that he always makes jokes throughout class which break up your ability to concentrate, what's worse is that those jokes are always directed at other people who are not him and they will be blanket statements like, just taking for example this morning's "people who like country music and grapefruits are weird" (this was the premise but he took his time to really jab at people who might fall into those groups in a frankly uncomfortable and strange way - like dude I'm here for yoga?). Point is - the jokes aren't funny, they are always targetting other people besides himself, he laughs at them while no one else does, and it just serves to create a negative atmosphere and all around bad vibe. As far as assists go - he DOES NOT ask you to let him know if you don't want them at the beginning - like every yoga instructor ever does - what's even worse is he's bad at them - he "assisted" me on our FIRST major hamstring stretch of the class by pushing my leg straight up in the air (quickly) - I 100% have a pulled hamstring now that may sideline me for however long and I have to move this weekend. If he continues to have such disregard when assisting - he will continue to hurt people and might even catch a lawsuit one day. As far as his "flow" goes - he plays terrible music that never remotely matches the energy of the flow - he will then pause that music completely for multiple trips to the floor throughout the class - bringing the pace to a near standstill in every way - he will then crank that terrible music all the way back up and jump headlong back into the flow. So by the end of it you feel pretty much anything but at peace. I tried to provide him some feedback through the app last week but obviously he doesn't care or didn't read, which is why I've come here to relay my concerns - if you note the rest of my reviews, I'm not the kind of person to rush to give someone a bad review without first giving them a second chance + trying another method to provide feedback. Did I mention he showed up to his OWN CLASS five minutes late? Yeah. This guy is an absolute piece of work. The studio is great - but stay FAR AWAY from classes taught by Mr. Tanner Bazemore.

Best Hot Yoga place around! Just be prepared that this can be very challenging to anyone new to yoga as the poses are not always explained, but the coaches are very helpful. Classes can get very full, but all the attendees have been very nice and welcoming so far.

Y2 Yoga is the BEST hot yoga studio in Charlotte! It's definitely challenging. The first few times I went I had to take many breaks but the more you go the better you get! There's plenty room for beginners and advanced yogis. Every instructor is great! Coming from someone who moves around a lot, who's done yoga all over the world, trust me when I say you're going to want to try it out! The only complaint I have is that they should offer the first class free (hint) ;) just because I want to bring all my friends but they're not always willing to pay the drop in fee. I know if the studio offered a free first time, so many people would come! Not that they need it lol.

Y2 is such an incredible workout — but it is definitely very challenging. Very hot and very fast. Instructors are always really helpful and there seems to always be a mix of expertise in the room from beginners to very advanced. Bring lots of water!

I am disheartened that a yoga studio would require unvaccinated individuals to wear masks. People who value yoga are also those who value a holistic and natural approach to life. Discriminating against them is wrong. I love yoga but I am also a breathwork facilitator and I know the importance of breath and oxygen. I have epileptic seizures that happen more frequently when I wear masks and don’t get to breathe properly. I refuse to get an experimental injection with no long term safety data, especially after all of the terrible experiences I’ve had with pharmaceuticals and our medical system. I have long since recovered from covid, I am not sick.. I am one of the healthiest people you will ever meet. Please be more mindful and understanding.

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for yoga one, but I couldn’t be happier that Y2 took over this location, adding a second studio of theirs in Charlotte. Y2 classes are always upbeat and strenuous, offering great workouts while maintaining the special, soothing qualities of yoga. Can’t wait to continue my practice here!
