If I could give Ripley Amell 10 stars, even 100 stars, I would do this without hesitation!!!!!! Five stars are not enough to cover how incredible a coach Ripley is and my words will not be able to express how amazing Ripley is. The best way is to take lessons from him and you will understand why I think so highly of him and his coaching. It is an amazing experience that I look forward to every week and I will continue having Ripley train me for a long time because I am so dedicated to becoming better and Ripley has helped me to be better in such a short time. I love taking these lessons and it is the happiest I have been in a long time!!!!!

Ripley is amazing coach and has helped me tremendously to become a better player. He is so caring, kind, and willing to help me learn and this says a lot to me as to the person Ripley truly is. He is a true teacher who has a gift that he loves sharing with his students.

Any pro can become a coach, but they have to have the qualities Ripley possesses in order to become a well rounded tennis coach who has the experience and knowledge to help every type of player, being beginner, intermediate, advanced and also any age level. This is Ripley.

Ripley comes from a very different background and instructs all of us to become well rounded players so that we become expert players, who care about the game and the people we play with. He has taught for many years and has transformed his coaching as the sport of tennis has transformed over time. He is an expert!!!

It is not just about hitting the ball, but it is also about loving this sport, loving learning and having fun. Ripley has helped me to have the self-confidence I needed to become better and better. He makes learning the different techniques meaningful and easy to attain with all types of drills and trainings. I feel comfortable with Ripley because I can laugh at myself when I make mistakes and this means a lot to me.

Ripley is an amazing coach and Yonahlossee is so fortunate to have him coaching in this wonderful place as are all of us who Ripley is helping. I love, love, love, taking lessons with Ripley at Yonahlossee!!!

My wife gifted me 4 private lessons w/Coach Ripley Amell at the Yonahlossee Racquet Club this summer, and it was a fabulous experience.

The facility itself is beautiful, quiet, and kept in excellent condition. Both the outdoor har-tru clay and indoor hard surface courts look new, and the grounds are kept clean. It really does feel like a mountain getaway here.

Coach Ripley Amell is a truly wonderful instructor. I hadn’t seriously practiced tennis since high school (about 20 years ago), but he very clearly and succinctly showed me how to improve my footwork, timing, and form in ways that I hadn’t learned before. After these 4 lessons, I’m confident that I’m a better player and am excited to play tennis again!

I play tennis and have recently started working at Yonahlossee over the summer and have loved every bit of it. So I am at Yonahlossee nearly everyday playing tennis or working in the pro shop! It’s such a great environment and everyone there is always super friendly. I’m so thankful to have Ripley as a coach and a boss. He has helped me and my tennis game so much!

Yonahlossee is such a wonderful place to place to play at both their indoor (hard courts), and outdoor (clay courts) are in great condition. I have been playing at Yonahlossee ever since I have moved up to NC in 2012. In the past years Ripley Amell moved to NC and has built up the club in so many different ways, especially helping many players and me improve our game! Ripley is such an experienced and advanced coach I am so grateful that he moved up here and help me through my journey of becoming a better tennis player! Thank you Ripley and Yonahlossee!

I have played regularly at Yonahlossee since I moved to Boone in 2012. I have made many friendships and learned much from the club pros over the years. Currently our teaching pro, Van Winitsky is doing an awesome job filling in here and there. Ripley Amell became our primary pro teaching both club members as well as training the club Academy kids of ages 8-18. He has made quite the statement with his 21 different named moves. He is definitely the best club pro we have ever had at the Yonahlossee Tennis Club!!!

I come to Yonahlosse very often to play tennis.The indoor hard courts is where I spend the most time, the courts are kept in amazing condition and the lighting is perfect. The general manager Ripley Amell is the person that trains me and other junior players. He has a deep understanding of the tennis game and improves all of our games helping us all be very successful in tournaments. He cares about all of his players and makes sure that what he is teaching us will help develop our game further. The club allowed us players to raise money by doing a car wash, all of the members there are so friendly and kind to us! The club also has an amazing view and it is also a wonderful place to play tennis, swim, and workout in the gym. The whole club is kept in great condition, it is always so fun to be at the club.

Great facilities ranging from the outdoor and indoor tennis courts, workout room, and pool. I play tennis there nearly everyday and could not ask for a better environment in which to spend my time. The coach, Ripley Amell, is fantastic and truly cares about all of the players.

I currently play at this racquet club, and I have played here for 3 years as a junior. The Club Manager and Director of Tennis, Ripley Amell, is a fantastic leader and coach. The indoor courts are where I spend most of my time, and they are amazing! If you are looking for a place to play, workout, or relax Yonahlossee is the place for you!

Very nice facility. The courts are nice and fenced high. The pool has 7ft long area and a wider 3 1/2 ft area. There is also a small “hot tub” spot. The workout area is nice and has a wide variety of machines. The locker rooms are typically clean but sometimes not. The parking is not the best which is it is only 4 stars. There is minimal parking and it is set up weirdly.

Nice tennis club, beautiful setting, 6 clay courts, 3 indoor, awesome indoor pool 25 yards, nice workout facility. Makes Yonahlossee a great place to rent a place, gated community with great landscaping and privacy, not overdeveloped. at a great location too 10 minutes from the parkway and close to Blowing Rock and Boone. On Shulls Mill Road that allows quick access to Banner Elk/Foscoe area as well.
