Iβve been a member for several years but recently decided to cancel my membership. Over time, I got to know many of the staff and really appreciated their work. However, Iβve noticed a significant amount of staff turnover in the past couple of years, which has impacted the overall experience.
From conversations Iβve had and what Iβve observed, it seems that leadership, particularly the new director, Cory has played a role in this instability. Itβs disappointing to see so many department leads leave, and as someone who runs a business, I know that kind of turnover often points to deeper issues with management.
Iβd recommend checking out other options like the YMCA or Edge depending on your location. Consistency, leadership, and a supportive environment make a big difference, and unfortunately, thatβs been lacking here recently.

Tons of workout equipment with enough space to get a good workout! The indoor walking track is very nice on cold or rainy days! I love how many fitness classes there are, and offered during multiple times of day. There's something for everyone and every type of exercise! The staff are always friendly and diligent in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

As someone who usually doesnβt write reviews itβs hard to thank a place. But Family Wellness deserves it. Through a breakup, I was more than willing to go out of my way to spend time at the gym. The staff is friendly, the amenities are great, and although I wonβt be in North Dakota again, family wellness deserves the praise.

My husband has had 2 hip replacements within a year, with his physical therapy twice a week, he is on way to recovery quicker than anticipated. I credit this place as well as his hard work in getting him back to work.

I absolutely love this gym! I have a toddler who is pretty attached to me and doesn't like many other people, but she LOVES the childcare here! She runs right in and is always having fun when I pick her up! That gives me time to work out without worrying about it she is having a good time or not! I am so grateful for this gym!!

Family Wellness is like my second homeβif my home had top-notch equipment, awesome classes, and people who actually motivate me to work out! The place is so clean, I almost feel guilty sweating on the machines. The staff? They're like personal cheerleaders who donβt charge extra. If youβre looking for a gym thatβs as fun as it is effective, this is it. Five stars, and Iβd give it six if they added a post-workout snack bar!

If you want or need to use the pool go somewhere else it's a waste of your time and money to show up and not be able to use the pool due to uses not listed on the schedule, events spaced on the schedule and availability of swim lanes when you show up to swim

Everything is top notch from the facility, equipment, pool/saunas, cleanliness and especially childcare! Loved that I could workout and know my kids were in great hands. We miss Family Wellness! Our kid missed last Thursday's swimming lesson due to illness. Since it was the last class of the session, we immediately called Family Wellness trying to figure out if she passed, so we can enroll her to the next session. No one picked up. We left messages and called again on Friday and Saturday, still no one pick up, And we left messages again and emailed. No response until Tuesday. I saw there are still openings so I stopped by and was told it's too late too enroll even though this week is the first week of this session. Worst management I have ever seen!! Don't sign up for swimming lessons.

Family wellness is a great place to get a gym membership. They have great walking areas, plenty of machines, and great classes. They also have very nice racquetball courts and a nice big locker room. The hottub is out in the pool area which is nice to sit in and watch your kids in the pool. The steam room is in the pool area as well and it's very nice. My few issues, the sauna is just not good enough. It's huge and since it's out in the pool area it's unisex, but they won't let you put water on the rocks so it's not very hot at all. Stick to the steam room. Also as a swimmer, there are times where they don't have any lanes available for lap swim and that was tough. Also the start of one side of the pool is only like 3 feet deep so there isn't much for kicking off and pushing very far without being very close to the bottom. Lastly you can't take kids there to play on a jungle gym without checking them into the childcare. This was different from the YMCA in fargo

Family Wellness is an absolutely fantastic recreation center! I've lived in multiple states and it's my favorite of them all. Awesome and large running track/gym/lifting/cardio area, great locker rooms, clutch childcare, and a wonderful aquatics center. Special shout out for the steam room and water slide!

We were scouting out a rec center to use for our family. Staff were happy to answer our questions. LOVE that it has child care! They allowed us to tour it without paying a fee. Facility was clean and orderly. As a person with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management I also am so excited to see their wellness kitchen!! Food and Fitness go hand in hand! We will definitely be back!

Great place to work out! I was lucky to come as a guest for a few days while I was visiting family! Great equipment and unique machines I hadn't seen at any of my local gyms, such as the hip bridge. Really enjoyed the sauna, pools, and hot tub! Gym was really clean and the staff were extremely friendly.

After using this facility for around 10 years on and off, I had an issue at the pool with the way the children were being treated by a lifeguard. She finally scolded my child for playing with her sibling and I asked what she had done. I ended up calmly telling the employee she was a little strict, she sarcastically replied, "Want a card, you can call my boss." I made a complaint that ended with an email from Todd Peters of Sanford Health, " I'm sorry you had a negative experience at the family wellness pool. The lifeguard you talked about actually informed me of the situation on Saturday afternoon. We do expect our lifeguards to enforce all rules to ensure the safety of pool users. I'm sorry if you felt her behavior was overly harsh and i will discuss the incident with her further, blah blah blah." I feel this email was more patronizing than productive. If your rules include demeaning children in front of crowds for acting like children then you won't get my money.

The staff are friendly and courteous. The guests are a great group of people. Everyone is very conscientious and clean their equipment when they are finished using it. It is a very positive culture, and the people are so encouraging.

Itβs a nice gym to work out at if you get there early morning definitely a more motivated crowd working out! lots of machines to choose from. They have a wet sauna and dry sauna a nice basketball gym, a couple, racquetball courts and more. price is definitely higher than a lot of gyms sometimes itβs hard to find a worker if you need something.

It's a good place to work out, as long as you don't mind being looked at and judged from time to time. Great for families! Lots of options. If you plan on canceling your membership for any reason make sure to check your bank account. They're not good at processing paperwork.

Ok gym. But we pay $136 a month for a membership for myself, my husband and daycare for our 2 little kids. My husband doesnβt use the gym often but they told me this is the only way to get unlimited child care. And I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and need the child care so this was the only option. The equipment is nice but i asked about bringing a friend thatβs visiting the area and they said 3 guest visits every 6 months. There are 2 adults on our account so I thought Iβd have 3 guest visits every 6 months and so would

Awesome gym, excellent value! Closes a bit early on weekends at 8pm. Nevertheless, I always feel great visiting and refreshingly healthier walking out. The place carries a motivating atmosphere to exercise in, which in turn makes for better workouts each visit. Sauna & steam room are great, especially for the chilly winters in Fargo!

Probably the best "health club" in Fargo/Moorhead area. Towel service, sauna, steam room, hot tub plus usual assortment of weight machines, free weights, cardio equipment etc. Very friendly front desk and reasonable monthly rates (currently $63/month adults). The lap pool is a little lame with only 3 lanes and frequently occupied by non-lap swimmers but if you have time to wait for a lane to open up you can get some laps in. The weight machines have the usual problem of folks "hanging out" on a particular machine while they do a short set, then sit on the machine while they check their phone for several minutes, then repeat this sequence 3 times. Again, if you don't mind waiting for a weight machine to open up you will be fine.
