Seems very cold and dysfunctional, the younger staff are unsure and the older staff don't want to be bothered. Was chunks of hard proteins powder clumps in my shake making it a bad experience.

This place is a JOKE! I am staying in the campground and whoever is responsible for maintaining it sucks at their job. Suppose to have another week of the campground being open. Instead they sent someone with notice to unhook my personal belongings. Therefore leaving us without water.

We LOVE the Gaukler. Easy access to multiple locker rooms, family changing rooms, beautiful new weight lifting equipment, a track to run/walk, swimming pool, and classes. Plus, they even have drinks and things. Good bang for your buck!

With better leadership this place could be top notch but the office staff (back office staff)are extremely rude, no professionals. The front staff are all children with no help and clueless most of the time. The hours for the pool and closing early is redundant considering the high end cost of membership. The building itself is amazing, when the equipment works it is nice, hot tub gets shut down all the time as well. It could be a great place if it had the correct staff both front deck and back office staff.

Biggest item I am looking for when I visit a gym is how many Olympic platforms are available, along with squat racks and free weights. They have two in still excellent condition, which I've never had to wait when in town visiting family. Good to know that spendy day pass is helping towards keeping equipment well maintained! Monthly prices are, however, much more reasonably priced for this facility. Although, if you're a lap swimmer--good luck getting those laps in!

Kind of spendy for monthly subscription especially considering they are supported by sales taxes as well.

The wellness center has been in great shape. All equipment works and is maintained/fixed in a timely manner. The cleaning is ongoing all day so you can feel safer during the pandemic. The only negative would be lack of weights for the bench presses. Gets really annoying chasing weights down from other places.

I work night shift. Not only is this place more expensive than the old gym, the hours are ridiculous. Expecting to keep a gym like that fully staffed by college students results in the gym closing by 9 pm. And even earlier in the summer! This is definitely not conducive to my schedule and makes it difficult and inconvient for me to exercise here. Sure the place is nice, but I can't even enjoy it because we have to be supervised to run on a treadmill. I mean, how hard would it have been to have these brand new doors activated by a membership card that way people can come in and work out as they please like the old gym. If they want to close up shop at 9 pm, fine! Close up the pool and hot tub, don't close the whole building. Pretty irritating.

Double the old gym fee, but now no longer 24 hour building. The pool has weird scheduled hours, what's the purpose of having a pool if it is closed most of the day. Limited leg equipment, I know people have made numerous suggestions about leg equipment needed but still get ignored. Machines easily wobble or rock back and forth. This place has potential, however the staff doesn't really seem interested in listening to the patrons of the gyms to make the necessary improvements.

The only reason I have given even the two stars above is purely because of potential. I have been a patron at the valley city recreational center for 14 years and have never had the disappointment in the facility as i have now. Though the building is attractive, the disconnection with us patrons and the staff including upper management becomes apparent within a few exercises. There has always, as long as I can remember anyway, been obvious bias of management preferring image over service such as displaying new and odd looking cardio equipment at the front while tucking all the aged and cheap free weights and benches in the back. This many long time users and I simply put up with and passed as normal. The reason I speak out now is on 06-16-17 I was rather rudely informed by a employee that there has been a recent hour change and I had five minutes to finish what I was doing and leave. It was 8pm on a Friday. The combination of the "not my problem " attitude and the fact that what used to be a 24/7 facility was now rushing people out the door because of unannounced and unexplained reasons all while still asking its mambers to pay a premium for the service is now too much to bear. I have grown up with this place in my life many members and staff know me by name but it is true that all things come to an end and beauty is only skin deep I wait eagerly for the new TRAC center in Jamestown.

They receptionists don't keep up with what's going on. Everyone is clueless when it comes to pricing and they don't go by their brochures. If they change anything when it comes to prices you won't know it until the day of. People patroning on memberships or drop-ins beware.
