I am in Bismark on business and have been to this Planet Fitness twice so far. Its a great experience to use their facility. Clean, spacious and gives me the opportunity to get my workouts done before my work day starts. Its open 24 hours a week for most of the week which is awesome.

I have been to a few other planet fitness gyms around the country and this one ranks among my top three gyms including my home location in Allen, Texas.

If I am ever in the area again for work I will definitely visit this gym.

What's that? You want to cancel your membership?

All you need to do is come in physically to cancel or mail a letter saying you want to cancel and they will cancel you...

Problem is that college kids do not mail anything and when they live in another city, they are not available to cancel in person.

So a year goes by of Planet Fitness hitting my son's bank account for $15 a month without recourse.

Be warned. This is how Planet Fitness does business.

A primary concern is the discrepancy between the advertised 24/7 access and the actual operating hours. The gym is only open 24 hours for three or four days a week, which can be inconvenient for members relying on consistent anytime access.

Furthermore, it appears there may be an issue with staff retention, possibly due to compensation. A high turnover rate can impact service quality and consistency.

Regarding facilities, the tanning beds are in need of maintenance, specifically bulb replacement. Most critically, the lack of functioning air conditioning is significantly impacting the workout environment. With temperatures consistently around 78 degrees, the gym becomes uncomfortably hot. Despite speaking with two managers over the past two weeks, the issue persists with the explanation that they are awaiting corporate approval. Prompt resolution of the AC issue is essential for member comfort and safety, especially as warmer weather continues.

A fascinating experience in every sense of the word- I journeyed to this pf from out of state, curious about the potential difference in experiences between my usual pf and this one. One one hand, it's a pretty average size. The layout includes all of the typical aspects of a standard pf, like the yellow zone for "30 minute workouts" and the smaller area for abs, stretching, and other such exercises. It was relatively clean from everything I saw, and had a huge area for the black card members. The ladies room had some things out of order- a hand dryer, a few missing soap dispensers, and all but one of the mirror lights were out. Obviously the bathroom was still functional, just something to note. In regards to the equipment, I was able to max out a few of the machines I would usually have 50-100 more potential pounds to load and lift on, (like the leg press machines went up to 300 or so where as typically at our pf they'd go to 400). Some of the equipment also seemed shifty, but all in all, it was not the worst experience one could have.

There are many machines that don't work because they are broken or need maintenance. I think it's because there are a lot of teenagers that don't know how to use the machines and it's also dangerous that the gym allows it without the supervision of a trainer. I have been to several planet fitnes in different states and this one needs more investment in maintenance and personal trainers.

Came from fargo where the new planet fitness has better equipment and red light therapy, cryotherapy, relaxation pods, hybrid tanning/ red light therapy combined, and much more so I feel Bismarck needs to at least upgrade there services to include some of these choices.

I love Planet Fitness gyms but every time I have to go to the Bismarck location my experience with staff is absolutely degrading and horrible. The latest way they're being rude to guests is refusing to hand them coins for the massage chair and instead having to walk them over with you like you're a toddler. Then when you just want to relax they keep talking to you while the chair is going and if you say anything they get bitchy and make it incredibly awkward. And that was the manager's behavior 😲😳. This is the worst location I've ever been to only because of staff issues. It's sad to see how far down hill this gym has gone due to poor management. Seems like the staff is always rude to guests about something everytime I come in it's a nightmare experience I actually dread when I have to go to this location. I wouldn't advise anyone to go with this location anymore until they fix their staff issues.

Men's locker room has the following STILL in place for over 24 hours: pill on the counter, underwear on floor, leftover soap bar, and showers have a nasty yellow scum buildup. All were this way yesterday. Both hydrostorm machines broken. Staff is great, super friendly.

Mid-size PF in terms of square footage. Great variety of machines with duplicates of the most popular ones. Locker room is smaller than expected, but the whole place is very clean. I showed up around noon on a Wednesday when Google Maps showed "as busy as it gets", and to my surprise, the place was nearly empy.
One of the best locations I've visited.

I've been here a few times now passing through, and it's a really great location! The front desk staff are really nice and excellent listeners and very engaging. The gym is laid out perfectly and very efficiently. However, the Smith machines are way too close to the wall, and there are not enough 45 plates to go around. There are many nooks and crannies in which to hide and exercise and stretch and do your own thing. I was in tanning bed one both times, and the bulbs are very strong!

like the space - parking lot is huge! This location has been super clean as of lately with new staff and management. I recommend planet to many because the YMCA is too crowded to lift or utilize machines most days. Saves me time and energy with my black card I get to use the massage chair and hydromassage daily too!!! Plus when I’m back in Denver I have my gym membership!! Denver has several locations!!

I travel a lot for work (Military) and have utilized PF’s all across the country and hands down Planet Fitness (Bismarck ND) is the best. The managerJT and his staff are extremely professional, always greeting members and non-members alike and making them feel welcome. The gym is meticulously clean, the amenities (Black card spa) are cleaned after every use even though the patron is “Supposed” to clean after themselves. Though use of clubs outside of your home club are supposed to be limited in number, they let me come twice a day for the 31 days I was in Bismarck, faaaaaar exceeding what is normally allowed. To the staff of PF Bismarck a gracious thank-you to you all! Best PF I’ve been too!

The place is clean and new. The trainer there seems to love her job. She is Very happy and that can give inspiration to members and possibly future clients. People in general are polite and mind their own business. All types of bodies come there and everyone has their own goals. There is no judgement or p*ssing contests (yay). This place isn't packed full of steroid-heads and I appreciate that. One the other hand; The "seasoned" staff (the tall gentleman), rubs off on some as arrogant. He should smile more.

Update: Most of that has changed. People are dropping weights loudly. It seems like a p*ssing contest. There is usually a flock of men by the free weights. They lift weights, drop them loudly, strut, peek around, chatter, then do it again.
I saw a girl wearing an extremely thin crop top and thin biker shorts. She might as well not have worn anything at all, as we could see everything.
The staff seems pretty chill. Maybe too chill as the customers are not being reminded of a few values the cooperation has.
The trainer that was previously spoken of, hasn't been there for quite a while now. Shame
I lowered the stars due to this. I left a few up there because it is a clean gym. Some of the equipment in the "black card membership area" needs to be reupholstered. The channel changer to the Television is missing back there too.

It’s nice for a facility with limited free weights. The complaint is with the staff. In Minot they greet everyone as they come and go, and are friendly towards everyone. I feel like at this gym they offer no assistance to struggling clients, and they have zero customer service. For the lack of having any personal trainer type employees at this gym, you would expect people to be more friendly. Being a more in shape guy and not feeling welcome here is a problem. Imagine someone just starting out, that’s a dream killer.

Plenty of machines and spacious to be sure. The patrons are respectful of one another and everyone is good about wiping down machines. The entire place is quite clean and feels safe and comfortable. I hate that they don't stay open 24/7 on the weekends but they have a fair selection of workout equipment. The maximum weight you can workout with is capped pretty hard though. All in all, I'd say it's a great bargain for what you get.
