My girls started dancing at a very young age. When we moved to Lima, we were worried about finding another dance studio that felt like family. After searching and trying out other studios, we finally found A Step Above. From Day 1, my girls have felt welcomed and accepted. They have found their new “dance family”. I danced at ASA years ago before new ownership, and I had a pretty decent experience overall! Though I haven’t seen the place since dancing here, I’ve been able to stay in contact with some of the staff and it is really awesome to hear what Ms Sierra has done with the place! My oldest has danced here since she was 18 months old. This is her 5th season. They have always done such a great job with her. She's now on the comp team at 5 and I've started my youngest in the creative dance class. Ms. Sierra and her team go above and beyond for their students.

This studio has been my home away from home for 8 years!! And over the past two and a half I have felt more at home than ever! The staff truly care about each and every student who walks in the door new and/or old!! In the past two years the studio has overcome some pretty rough situations but they pulled through with some tears and smiles!!

Very toxic environment. My family and I attended this studio for over 10 years up until the pandemic. The studio was doing fine until 2020 when it was sold to a new owner. Ever since the ownership change the place went downhill, favoritism and the lack of growth for students runs rampant throughout. If you’re not family or close friends to the owner you’re given the short end of the stick and treated horribly. Students who stand up for themselves against the unfair treatment of the owner are kicked off the team regardless of being in competition or recreational. Rudeness and stuck-up behavior from advanced dancers to new and/or less advanced dancers is present in this establishment. During the pandemic students were still charged tuition when the studio was completely closed, parents were paying the studio for nothing. This place is NOT a beneficial and safe space for ANYONE..

They started out pretty good then communication went completely south. They only care about money and themselves. Not the children. My daughter worked so hard for them to tell her she’s not allowed to do The Final recital Because we missed dress rehearsal due to no communication. They expect you to go online on Facebook and watch their page every single day instead of contacting each parent. I also paid for pictures that we never did receive. Siblings are not allowed to come in and watch. Spent almost a whole year preparing for one day just to find out she’s not allowed to go. And this was the day before the recital. Talk about a child with a broken heart. They will not return any phone calls or messages on Facebook.

Money hungry! During the covid19 issue this place had the audacity to still charge for the months my child was not attending and the studio was shut down and added on late fees to the bill, who does that when you're CLOSED? Would not recommend this place to anyone! But if your willing to just throw your money away then this is the place to go! You are better off to look outside of lima for dancing lessons!
