Immediately very warm and welcoming place. Extremely chill. Makes my hippy heart happy. Imagine walking into a vintage anthropologie-esque yoga studio and that’s what abide yoga is. Loved the slow beginning to the class and by the middle had warmed up well to do the harder stuff. It’s a come as you are, wear what you want, do whatever you want, kind of place. (As opposed to the wealthy-lululemon-wearing intimidating vibes of other places). They have tea and water and extra mats and every kind of prop that you could imagine. I’m definitely going to sign up for a membership.

I've been coming to Abide for over a decade, and in all those years I have never found a community centered studio that comes close to what Hope has created. The studio is sliding scale to make yoga financially accessible, on any given day you'll be surrounded by people of different body sizes, ages, and backgrounds. If you can't physically make it into the studio, there are virtual classes to join. There's a community tea bar for people to get cozy and make conversation with each other, and a clothing rack for people to bring/take what they need. There are so many amazing teachers who all teach in their own authentic ways, and invite you to find softness in your body. Abide is the embodiment of community care.

Yesterday was my first time visiting and I have to say that I was very disappointed with the level of cleanliness displayed. I was instructed by the guide to grab 2 pillows and a blanket for props. Once the class was over I asked the guide( I believe her name was Hope) was there a place to put the used pillows and blanket I used during the practice. (I used the pillow under my head, under my feet, on my back and in between my thighs durinb the practice. ) She informed me to put them back with the other pillows and blankets informing me that she washes them every 3 weeks. The level of cleanliness and sanitation displayed here was dissatisfing and against my cleanliness standards. I am still disgusted knowing that I laid on used dirty pillows and blankets.

a place i've gone back to many times over the past four years, definitely worth mentioning how inclusive this space is and how lovely each of the instructors are. Hope and her team work so hard to create compassion in their space while continually learning and dedicating themselves to understanding how to best serve the needs of their community, wether that be through events and gatherings or sliding scale fees, truly some of the best people i've ever met.

I’ve been going to prenatal yoga here for a few weeks now. Really helps me stretch out and get my body feeling better for the week ahead.

Love this place. My family has gone for years. So happy they are in the neighbourhood! My Mom probably does 5-7sessions a week & she swears by it. She said today that she’ll always go there. Her friend actually drives 45min a few times a week as well just to go to Abide so clearly they are doing something right! …whether your looking for a new yoga home or just wanting to poke around & see what it’s all about Abide is a great place that offers a lot of variety & flexible options so I’m sure you’ll find what your looking for. It is a very homey environment…come as you are.. there is water & tea & they have a clean bathroom if you need to change! As well as everything else you need for the session so don’t worry if you forgot your mat or don’t have one. They also supply everything else including balls & sticks & blocks & blankets (weighted too). Today I tried the Moving Forward it was cool, our instructor Missy (I think) was very creative, All of them have great energy & flow & are very passionate about making sure you get what you came for, whatever that is. I couldn’t do much today & was just there mainly to work on my feet & ankles which are super sore & sensitive from Physical Therapy. I feel much better After going. …BTW I’m so glad they survived Covid!…if you can’t make a class or like being at Home they also offer online Zoom Classes filmed live from the studio.

Hope and her team are the best! Years ago, after some negative and competitive experiences, I stepped away from yoga discouraged. In 2019, a friend brought me to this studio, and I’m so grateful she did. Hope, Annie, Danielle, Margaret, and all offer thoughtful and engaging classes each week. The transition to Zoom classes hasn’t left anything missing. I’m still so glad for this resource and to participate in these classes. Thank you all!

Dropped into three different classes. 3 different instructors. All great music and flow. Such a comfortable place, like being invited to a friend’s house to do a little yoga. Easy parking location. Classes aren’t intense or intimidating so if you want to try yoga or relax a little I’d highly recommend.

If you have not tried a restorative yoga class before, I highly recommend the classes at Abide. The atmosphere is serene and Gwendolyn has a way of speaking that is very warm and calming. It is not a workout type of yoga, but feels like a slower, therapeutic stretch to the muscles that also rests the mind. There is plenty of time to settle into poses and is a unique experience.
I wish I lived closer because I would go all the time!

I visited this studio for the first time yesterday, and attended Sunday Slow Flow, led by Danielle. It was amazing, and made even more special that it was held outside. I'm excited to explore more classes using their $30 for 3 weeks new student special.

A warm and welcoming environment located in a old building in the artsy Larchmere community. The decor has a hippie-type and informal vibe to it. Tibetan flags along the width of the room with cloth tapestry wall hangings covering entrance ways. This was my first visit to Abide Yoga. I met the owner, Hope, and found her to be a friendly and caring person. Classes were free all day as this was an Open House for the community. I participated in 2 classes. The first class, a slow flow, was taught by Julia. Julia is sweet and friendly. She gives easy to follow directions and I felt comfortable with her. My second class, a Yin flow, was taught by Hope. A relaxing session. The room was filled with yogis. I forgot to ask Hope about the connection with The Dude from the Big Lebowski, lol... My one issue was that the music was louder than I would have liked and, you could hear the chatter and background noise from the front counter area as there was only a tapestry separating the class from those entering in the door. There was complimentary tea, pistachios, oranges and cookies and free yoga books too.

Yoga for all levels of skill, no matter if you are looking for flexibility, strength, or relaxation. Hope is a great instructor. She shows you and explains how to do the movement. The soundtrack keeps things interesting. Good atmosphere in the studio.

If you are looking for a local, community-oriented yoga studio, check out Abide. There is a variety of types of yoga classes available and the teachers take the time to make you feel comfortable in any of the classes. I'm proud to call this studio my yoga home!

Abide Yoga is one of Cleveland's best kept secrets. This studio located in the Larchmere area offers a mixture of yoga styles from restorative to kundalini and more. I recommend this studio to anyone new to the practice or anyone who has practiced for several decades. There is a space for you. Namaste

Over the past month, I've gone to Abide once or twice a week and have come to really enjoy Hope's classes. So far I've stuck with the Abide Vinyasa - All Levels class and have found it to be both accessible and the right level of challenging as a yoga novice. "Pay what you can" Karma classes are offered periodically throughout the week and are of the same high quality as any of the regular classes.

As a teacher, Hope does a great job of guiding students through the poses and suggests adaptations based off of personal preference or needs and is very accommodating to students of all levels. The studio itself is bright and clean, and provides blocks, belts, rugs, or mats as needed and tea is usually offered before or after class. The music for each class is never quite the same, and I get the feeling a lot of thought goes into each session.
