Training at Altered Gym was a game-changer! From day one, I was introduced to proper form, movement mechanics, and a mindset that set the foundation for where I am today. Working with Rhett made all the difference. His coaching, attention to detail, and belief in my potential helped me develop into the collegiate athlete I am today. I am so thankful to have found Altered Gym. I needed to level up my workouts and Altered Gym was just the place. The trainers are patient and encouraging as are the other gym members. I love Altered Gym. The coaches are great and my into session included meeting with the owner of the gym (Rhett) to see where my mobility and comfort level with workout moves is. I was able to jump right into a group class the next session, but they have intro classes that explain each movement. Logan, Rhett, and Anderson are great coaches a reason why I look forward to coming to the gym. The community is so great and the altered gym family is really accepting. They took time to get to know me and I look forward to workouts more than I ever have before. There are people of all ages and levels and you should give this gym a try!!!!

I had a fantastic experience at altered gym. The strength coaches were all very personable and knowledgeable while pushing me to get stronger each session. As a student-athlete I felt that the training I received from Altered Gym truly took me to the next level. All of the coaches are very supportive and create a motivating atmosphere that pushes me to be a better athlete. Logan is great to work with. He pushes me to try exercises I’ve been intimidated by and go beyond the limits I set for myself. Highly recommend him. We’ve also been working on knee exercises that have gotten me back to running after a knee injury and my knees feel better than they have in the past several years. If you have knee issues, go see Logan.

Personal training with Logan has been a great experience! He accommodates workouts to your style and makes them personal to you, something I didn’t find at big box gyms. Didn’t have a lot of experience with strength training and he really takes the time to make sure I’m learning how to perform exercises correctly.

The coaches at Altered Gym seem very nice and supportive. I am a larger guy that has struggled to lose weight in other programs, but that has not been the case here. Logan, one of the trainers, is very knowledgeable and put together a program that has not only taken away my back and hip pain, but also helped me lose 40 pounds and keep it off! He is friendly and encouraging so I don't feel judged. I highly recommend Altered Gym to anyone considering joining a gym community.

Altered got me into using barbells, which I never thought I would do! Initially I was nervous about the injury potential, but the coaches are wildly competent and I felt like I had enough adult supervision to give it a go. They’re great at teaching new movements, keeping your form in check, and making sure you aren’t pushing yourself into dangerous territory. They are also great about providing modifications to exercises if needed - they worked around some wrist mobility issues of mine without skipping a beat.
I started classes out of shape and was worried that I would feel judged for having to use light weights, but no one cared at all! The classes themselves have a lot of variation in programming which keeps things interesting, and it feels very purposeful. There are two class structures to choose from every day - a cardio/strength class that changes daily, and a strength class that’s part of a bigger ~monthly arc which really highlights your progress. The classes are challenging, but it isn’t over-the-top “do 5000 burpees until someone throws up” nonsense. Six months in I feel soooo much better than when I started.
Final comment I want to make is that I love the community at the gym. The coaches make an effort to get to know you, the members are really friendly, and there’s even a book club that meets every month!
In summary – love love love this gym, you should totally give it a try.

Coaches are awesome, programming is fantastic. They provide well rounded workouts that aren’t boring or time consuming, and are very accommodating for different abilities. I didn’t have any experience in strength training and stuck only with running/cardio before joining two years ago, but now I’m a strong believer in having a solid gym routine too! It’s made such a difference in my health and body, and I feel so much more confident and capable. I love going to altered gym. The programming is awesome. When I was doing CrossFit type workouts with certain movements that would always leave me with pain everyday. Such as muscle ups, handstand push-ups, snatches, so on and so on. I feel less aches and pains and more gains. We still do those type of movements. Just not all the time. I don’t compete anymore. Nor do I want to. If I do it will be with a team and for the memories. If you want to be fit and be around like minded individuals of all ages. And I mean of ALL ages! It’s not just a young persons gym! Then Altered Gym is a gym you should come out and see!

Altered Gym offers both classes and private personal training. I’ve used both. I like the classes because we follow a specific program, so I don’t have to guess and come up with my own routine like when I used to go to Big Fitness. I also like the class format because it keeps me motivated and having others around makes me push myself more than if I was trying to work out on my own. If you want a small supportive class structure, workouts designed to be powerful and efficient, and knowledgeable coaches I highly recommend Altered Gym.

I have participated in almost every kind of group exercise known to middle-aged women. None helped me build strength like Altered has. Every class is like a group personal training session. You always know the coaches are there to correct your form, guide you with alternative movements, and count if you try to cheat yourself. This place is GREAT! I've been a member for 6 months and I can't believe I didn't join sooner. It's a really supportive and communal atmosphere with a challenging workout plan that changes regularly enough for me to not get bored. The coaches are both knowledgeable and relatable, I've never felt like I didn't belong or didn't have enough of a fitness background to be judged, just support and encouragement. The best part of GCCF is all of the great people you will meet. Shortly after my wife had a baby the coaches would actually hold our son during class so we didn't have to stop early during the workouts. Amazing box with truly incredible people!
