American Barbell Athletic club is hands-down the best fitness facility in Central Ohio if you value quality and selection of strength and functional equipment, cleanliness, no-additional cost features such as cold plunges and saunas, invested owners, a welcoming and safe environment, and value for money. In the relatively short time they have been in business, they have more than doubled the size of the facility and are in the midst of a major expansion that will once more double the space. They continually add new equipment and maintain their existing pieces regularly. The policies make the space safe and comfortable for all types/styles of members, enhancing the experience for members and guests. I recently saw a small number of poor reviews posted by disgruntled former members who all voluntarily cancelled their memberships after being reminded of standing policies. I guess some folks feel that the rules don't apply to them and being asked to show basic courtesy and respect to the facility and fellow members is a form of persecution? If you want to setup multiple tripods to film every rep of every set and block whole sections of the gym so you can post your clips to your handful of followers on social media, maybe setup your own gyms where you can do whatever you want. Those of us who are long-time members appreciate the fair and consistent policies that make this a welcoming space for everyone else.

I travel a lot, so I have been to many gyms all over the country in the past 30 years, and this is my favorite gym by far. Not only do they have the absolute best equipment from every major equipment brand all in one place, but the gym is also very spacious and clean. The members are friendly, and the staff as well as the owners are exceptionally kind and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this gym to anyone looking for an amazing place to work out. Barbell was a great gym, I enjoyed it when i started my membership. Ive seen the owner get into multiple people/high school kids faces and scream at them over incidents in the gym. yes some things should not happen from his customers but gives him no right to get into their faces and yell at his customers. also banning people and telling others that they have been disrespectful and intimidating others in the gym, which is just a straight lie. this gym was a good body building gym and now its turning into a something that doesn't support self improvement for the people who want to video and take pictures of their progress.

if you are wanting a privately owned gym, i would find something with a owner that respects his customers and not just money.

Dishonest about policies and as a result of a misunderstanding I have called the manager and reached out to get him to answer and now he has said I tried to intimidate him and I am trespassed from the property after not disclosing why I and two other colleagues are banned after we already canceled our memberships due to harassment. I do believe there is racial discrimination here at this gym and it showed in responses. There is no dishonesty on my part seeing as I have recorded evidence ready on command of the treatment I received and this place only has high reviews because they ask you to review for a free shirt lol. Terrible management, was told I can record and kept to myself and my people in there. Was met with a lot of resistance and contest when I would record and I never argued back just complied with the rules they were making on the fly. After weeks of harassment I made the decision to stop recording and just finish out my month and cancel. After I canceled I was met with an email saying my etiquette complaints will prevent me from ever coming as a member or guest. I am befuddled by this seeing as there was no mention of complaints until that and I made sure to treat the staff and others alike with kindness and respect. Terrible management for not allowing proper gym etiquette and ethics. DO NOT go to this gym if you plan on recording yourself !

Absolutely fantastic gym. There is a large variety of machines, but no compromises are made on the amount of free weights and floor space for other movements. The gym never felt crowded and I never had to wait on a machine. The basketball court was almost entirely empty when I arrived, and the staff were very considerate. The sauna was a nice cherry on top of a good lifting session. Overall, though it is a bit pricy, this gym is definitely worth the cost and I highly recommend it.

First time here was a great experience, many different machines i haven’t seen at other gyms. Not only can you get a good workout in you can also win against ur buddy’s in basketball.

This gym has everything I needed, from free weights to machines to bands to recovery options like the sauna and cold plunge tubs. Locker rooms are clean, showers are available, the staff is friendly, and the community of people here are laid back and not derogatory to new members who aren't quite in shape yet. Whether you've been in the gym for years or are just getting back into like I am, this place will have everything you need.

Friendly staff, clean equipment and plenty of room to move. This is the best gym I've been a member of in a long time and have been more consistent in my lifting and weight loss since joining because the atmosphere is just better. 10/10 give it a try.
