I joined this gym in September and I could not be more pleased with the experience! I am new to working out and I haven’t once felt awkward or uncomfortable here. Everyone I have talked to has been helpful and supportive! Great family atmosphere but still has some guys going hard. This gym gets everything right that other gyms fail at. It’s the perfect mix of grit and chalk (a real gym - you can deadlift, etc.) while being totally inviting to people at earlier steps in their journey. The culture is excellent - warm, open people who want to help each other. When you need plates, clips, or sanitary towels, everything is within reach and ready to go. Jason consistently updates and evolves the equipment without being asked; you show up and just notice new equipment. We all keep the place clean and to an enjoyable standard. IF only I had American Muscle and Fitness at home! Stopped by for two day passes from out of town and staff was friendly, helpful, and more than accommodating. Gym weights and equipment were clean, plentiful, and all in working order. Atmosphere was on point for a great workout, not like a dry unmotivating corporate gym. Cardio, freeweights, HIIT Turf, Bumpers, Racks, Cables, machines, lockers, shower. Had all that's needed. I would literally travel 6 states to come back just to workout!

It's a gym that's all about its people. The owner is a great guy who tries to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. His family has been in this business for multiple generations, so he understands how it's supposed to go, and you'll find him working on the floor so he can get to know everyone personally and make sure people's questions are answered. His full-time employee is kind to each person who walks in the door and offers to spot anyone who doesn't have a spotter. The two personal trainers practice what they preach: they run, lift, do mobility and stretching work, and are genuinely good human beings. We need more gyms that care about their people and create a safe space to build friendships and a support network. Lift well, make friends, and join a gym like this that makes you feel at home and not just like a number.

I have been coming here since I was 16 I’m now 19 going on 20 and still love it here. The gym and bathrooms are always cleaned and organized. Everyone is really friendly and the music is always a good mix for a good workout. Being a collegiate athlete now this gym has all the equipment I need to complete my workouts. Turf, Battle ropes, sleds, tires, agility ladders, jump ropes. The quality of the weights and equipment are excellent. The staff is always so welcoming and being a college student and not having much money this gym doesn’t burn a hole in my pocket to come to. I would recommend this gym to anyone especially if they like a smaller gym with not a lot of foot traffic. But with just as much quality as the bigger gyms.

Truly the best gym I’ve ever been to. Employees are fantastic, environment is amazing and welcoming, merchandise is fantastic quality, each and every machine is well cared for, and extremely sanitary. Sanitation bottles can be found at nearly every machine to clean things off. If I could give this rating ten stars I would. They’ve got just about anything you could ever ask for, and they have a student discount which is amazing for the local high schoolers. The owner, Jason, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Retired Army, living South Carolina and when I visit family in Akron, I look for a local gym to work out during my stay. American Muscle & Fitness is by far the best in the Akron area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The gym has an old school feel (I love) but yet is still contemporary. Rather you are looking for cardio fitness, packing on muscle, increasing power, or functional fitness, this gym has at all. They also have wide selection of protein shakes and supplements to fuel and repair your body after your work out, that are reasonably priced. Definitely check out American Muscle & Fitness for your fitness needs. You will be more than happy with this gym.

First time going to gym and wow was I impressed. The equipment is exactly what you want if you want to move some weight around. Plenty of treadmills for runners as well. Has a turf area to stretch and do abs. The wall art is my favorite part of this place. Speaks the minds of the environment that American Muscle is all about. The owner Jason was very accommodating as it being my first time walking in the door.

I'm really glad that I'm lucky enough to have found and live so close to American Muscle & Fitness. I workout there 3-5 days a week and there are a ton of different options to choose from to suit your fitness needs. Everyone that works there is super friendly and so is the owner. The trainers are great too. I have been going to this gym since June and I'm definitely going to continue going there. They open early, which has really made it possible for me to fit it into my busy schedule. I highly recommend it.

I reached out to Jason the owner about doing a photoshoot for a fitness competition that I am in. He immediately extended the use of his gym to me and set me up for what ultimately ended up being one of my favorite gym experiences of all time. Not only is the gym loaded in terms of equipment, the versatility it offers as far as fitness styles is insane. They have tires, ropes, boxing bags, mirrored rooms, free weights- literally anything you could think of. And the clientele is incredible. I was insanely comfortable in a situation I expected to feel incredible vulnerable in. Everyone was welcoming and supportive of the shoot, catering to what we were doing- which is not something I wanted or even expected but the fact that they did just goes to show the type of environment they have created there. The energy is what truly makes it special and as someone who has previously worked with Jason and Jessica I completely understand how that came to be. I would recommend this gym to everyone.

I came to Akron to visit my family for a couple weeks, and needed a gym to keep it going. I called American Muscle and Fitness and they didn’t hesitate to have me use their facility. They treated me like a regular, and I got plugged in that day. Plenty of equipment available, and all of it is quality and well kept. Honestly I hate that I can’t have this exact gym in my current hometown. Jason and the staff are great peoples(shoutout to Sam for always being available and helpful). I’ve been going to American Muscle and Fitness for three years. I started by working out with a trainer there who is extremely knowledgeable and helped me get in the best shape of my adult life. Since then, I’ve been attending a kickboxing class that the gym offers which is a pleasant mix of fun and hard work. The coaches and women in the class have become a second family to me. I look forward to seeing them each week and pushing one another to be our best selves.
