After seeing a drowning on the news about a kid my sons age. We wanted our kiddo to learn how to swim.
We chose aqua tots and have been extremely happy and satisfied with them. The building is clean and well taken care of, the pool is warm, and the staff.... Amazing!
There have been so many fantastic staff members (Noah, Gracen, Jayda, Vanessa, Katie, Page, Nathan, Abigail, the front desk staff, list goes on). I love how they all treat the kiddos and how excited my kid is to swim now. My son has improved so much with their help. Highly recommend this place.

A great place to learn to swim. We love Noah and Alyssa for their clear teaching, smiles, and making swim fun and approachable. We had one lesson with a newer coach who hadn't learned my kids names yet (this has never happened before with the 5 previous instructors we have had .. there's only 4 kids in each class). According to my kid she didn't listen to them (kept shushing them - to be fair my kid talks a lot and has been known to interrupt) - I am hopeful it was just new teacher nerves and/or my kids were just getting used to a different teaching style, which is fine! It sounds like she was doing her job. At the same time, I'd love to see my kid smiling like he does with the other teachers. The interior of this location is looking a little run down in a few places, but it is kept clean. The staff are all kind and helpful and we got lots of swag when we signed up, which was fun. Overall, I'd recommend this location of aqua tots.

Aqua Tots is the place to take your kids! Our son was open to swimming but hasn't been open to going under water. After just 3 classes he is Excited to go under and learn more skills!

He tells us constantly that he wants to go to Swim School!

Can't wait to continue his swim education with Aqua Tots!

Our kiddo has been attending swim lessons here since he was 6 months old, he's 7 years old now and he swims like a fish thanks to the coaches at Aqua-tots!
Swim has always been a required activity in our family, we like to take vacations to the beach, or go to KI to cool off in the pool during the summer, and it's great to know that our kiddo knows how to swim and that he's perfecting his techniques to become a stronger swimmer.
Plus, he absolutely loves swimming and it's great to see him excel at something he loves!

We’ve been going to Aqua tots for almost a year! The coaches are super awesome and great at encouraging little ones, my kiddo is 17 months now and I’m so impressed with how much his swimming skills have grown, since we’ve been attending. Coach Rylie and Coach Elena are particularly fantastic and they always say hi to my son when they see him, even if they’re not teaching him that day.

Both of my kids have been doing swimming lessons for over a year at Aqua-Tots. My kids are getting comfortable with the water and learning the basics of swimming. We love the instructors and staff. My oldest kid had Coach Ezra, she’s amazing with her. My youngest kid has Coach Elena, she is the most patient and kind teacher. Highly recommend Aqua-Tots in Springboro!

We enrolled our son in Aqua-Tots when he was eligible at four months old. He is now almost nine months and we are still in love with the program. Our son loves his instructor (shoutout Liv!) and we do too! The staff has always been accommodating, greets us at the door, and has a selection of class times if our usual time doesn’t work for us. We recommend Aqua-tots to anyone who is looking for a swim school. Their small class sizes cannot be beat!

We have been enrolled for a month or two at the springboro location and have run into multiple issues.

We do not feel safe attending anymore. There have been multiple classes where the instructors just do not teach or tell you what to do. They also are usually not paying attention and have even verbally stated they don't want to be there. Having an infant getting used to water, and reading your website about safety I am very surprised at the lack of attention these instructors are giving. Multiple times we have attended and the water has been so cold our infant has shivered, parents shivered and we had to get out of the water it was so cold, one time a makeup class was offered, and another time it was not. Multiple parents complained and even the instructor thanked us for saying something because she was really cold.

Talking to the GM Jaclyn got us nowhere, and she offered to move him up to the 1 year-plus class, but that does not align with the methodology I understand from your website and we do not feel comfortable doing that. Also, even though we are picking classes with specific instructors they seem to always swap them out.

Also, while talking to Jaclyn on the phone she was very rude, interrupted me would not put me in contact with the owner because "they own multiple locations so that isnt possible" and hung up while I was talking.

I would highly suggest any other place if you have an infant looking to take swim classes.

Very disappointed with our experience. Classes are cancelled frequently, sometimes without even 24 hours notice. Make up lessons are offered… that expire.

Classes are often ended before the scheduled time.

Instructors only leave notes regarding progress occasionally.

After the third cancellation in 2 months (that’s 3 out of 8 lessons) my wife and I decided to cancel enrollment. After cancelling I was informed that I still have to pay for the entire month of September even though the only lesson so far had been cancelled. Apparently 30 days notice is required for cancellation so I can’t get my money back.

My son has been going to Aqua Tots in Springboro for over two years now. He was terrified of the water at first, and I honestly didn’t think we’d make it past the six-month mark. But the instructors were incredible—so patient and understanding. Now, he's moved up to the next level, and swimming has become his favorite sport!

Really fun place, most of the staff is great. Good facility for sure.

If you want to see your child swimming make sure you get here early, otherwise the front row is occupied by parents on their phones. Like what’s even the point of selfishly occupying the best seats if you’re just hunched over on your phone the whole time.

Do not recommend taking your child here for swim classes if you want to be on a regular schedule. Our child’s assigned instructor is often “sick” and no substitute instructor is offered- instead class is simply canceled. This is horrible for parents who have children who thrive on schedules. They are also closed Fridays and Sundays, so when class is canceled and you are offered a make-up class, parents who work typical full-time jobs cannot even use the make-up class. Therefore, you end up paying a high price for classes your child can’t even attend. Do not recommend swim classes here- other local swim schools, such as the Dayton Goldfish Swim School, are open more days per week.

Unfortunately, I was unable to go to any classes with my daughter, as the classes that I had chosen, which were the only classes our schedule worked with, were indefinitely cancelled within 23 hours of making the lessons. The phone staff was nice, however, the manager was unble to resolve the issue, offering only a dofferent class time or a 30 day cancellation. I had to file a dispute to resolve this. Bummed to have to give 2 stars as I've heard great reviews and was looking forward to taking my daughter here.

Aqua-Tots in Springboro is wonderful! Our son has feared the water since he was young, so we decided swim lessons might help. We enrolled in classes a year ago, and it was the best decision! Our son is getting more comfortable in the water, and his coaches have been incredibly patient along the way. They genuinely care about their students, and go above and beyond to make connections. Aqua tots has been fabulous for swim lessons for my two and six year old. We started out at the Y but classes were being canceled frequently due to staffing issues etc. and we felt like we were just paying for lessons and not really getting much out of them. We switch to Aqua-Tots and the schedule has been extremely consistent, staff have been very friendly, the water is very warm, which my six-year-old definitely appreciates since the Y was in the cold water pool for her age and whenever we need to cancel there are lots of make up options available. Our children have seen vast improvements in a short period of time since switching to Aqua-Tots.

We did not have a good experience at Aqua Tots. They are unable to staff the classes, and they cancel them day of (frequently). I asked multiple times that they refund my money since they cannot provide the classes and they would not. Jess, the manager, would not work with us. She simply told me to read the policy. In my opinion it is a waste of time and money. They take your money but won’t provide the services.

Terrible terrible experience; we used to go to goldfish school but thought to give them a try this summer since they are closer to home. In the month that we attended so far, they canceled class on us twice due to chemical imbalance; and when I tried to reschedule the makeup class they gave us due to this (since my daughter was sick) they told us no. Seriously!! So you can cancel classes as you please but when my daughter is sick I can’t reschedule her class that you canceled on us in the FIRST place… I am so glad we only have one class left at this place… biggest mistake.

Awful! I tired lessons here once when my son turned 2. Cancelled and was told I’d get a credit for the unused lessons. We re-enrolled my son, no credits were given. Then when I tried to cancel they “lost” my notification 4 times. They literally just tack on 30 extra days of fees to squeeze you for every dollar. The one swim instructor said they keep kids in a level for at least 6 mos even if your kid is ready to move up. Again, more ways to squeeze a buck from parents. Totally unethically business.

This place used to be so great. New owners and management and driving it into the ground. We used to love it and planned to stay until our kids graduated the highest levels. Sadly, we will be leaving instead. We miss the Aquatots of the old owners.

TLDR: Used to be good, but no longer. May still be good for beginners/babies. Costs rise, you get less for your money, outdated practices make them hard to work with.

It is nearly impossible to find class offerings for levels above beginners. When a lesson gets canceled, you get a credit for a make-up lesson. Same for holidays. However, it's nearly impossible to actually schedule those lessons.

Scheduling and status report method is way outdated. Everything has to be done in-person or on the phone. No online scheduling or calendar of lessons. Progress reports on paper, only available in person.

Status report cards are unreliable. Sometimes a student may have "stars" erased as they near completion of a level. Or sometimes have big jumps. Almost appears status is tweaked to level load the number of students in each level, but who knows.

Recent renovations are not improvements. Everything used to be kid/family centric. Now it is efficiency and staff focused. Lobby layout got worse. No more toys and magazines for siblings. No more tables for parents who did work while kids swim. Eliminated the bell kids got to ring when they passed a level.

Every day staff is nice and effective. We'll miss them. Problem is clearly at the management/owner levels.

Addendum: New price increases and added expiration to the already near impossible to use make-up lesson credits.

Run away from this place. We were paying for swim lessons for a year and a half and they didn't even teach him well enough to advance a single level. They don't answer calls or emails, don't let you change payment information, and automatically billed us even though we had a voucher for private lessons for WCDD.

The swim lesson instructors were always very nice, especially Elie - so I give them 5 stars. Management is terrible.

My son has always been scared of water before coming here. The staff are fantastic, patient and just so welcoming! I would like to share an experience.
My son’s coach has been working on trying to get my son to believe in himself and to jump in the water. We have spent months trying to get our son Sam F to do this! Well last night September 23 we got Sam to stand at the edge and with the help of his coach and the two receptionist’s cheering him on, we got our son to finally jump in!!! This was awesome and such a boost for Sam! Aqua Tots is more then a swim school, it’s a place where they encourage they kids to believe in themselves. I can’t thank the staff enough for what you have done for Sam!! Every staff member there should be recognized for their teaching, their devotion and for their positive attitudes that they show to the kids!! Great place to learn how to swim. The way they teach the kids with so much warmth is simply amazing.

Aqua-Tots Is teaching our grandchildren how to swim and be safe and comfortable in the water. We were taking lessons elsewhere and did feel the children were making progress. We are very pleased with our experiences at Aqua-Tots and would highly recommend them to other grandparents and parents.

My daughter has gone from nervous around water to being a pretty good swimmer in less than a year thanks to the patient and caring instructors and staff at Aqua-Tots Springboro.

Not for your toddler. There was a lack of respect, no care, and little patience. Here's what happened...

We signed up our three year old son for a free swim session to try this out. He had never been in a pool without us before and was already a bit nervous.

From the very first word spoken to him, Alex was very stern, unfriendly, and abrupt (perhaps she was having a bad day). She gave him no explanation before counting to three and dunking him under water... By the second dunk he was shaking crying and scared by the whole thing. This was met with rolled eyes and an annoyed look followed by more dunking.

Perhaps 3 years old is to early to for aqua-tots swim, but in this case it was a lack of respect, care, and patience for a young child learning how enjoy swimming...

This is not a place I would recommend for your young child. Period.

I had a horrible experience today at my free trial. My son is three and has only had one other swim class last year at another rec center. He is a beginner and is very uneasy about the water. He was the only child in his class and I was NOT impressed with the instructor (ALEX) from the beginning. She had an attitude from the start and all she did was put my child under the water with little to no warning. After he came up sputtering, shaking and crying the second time I went in and told her to do something else and to STOP forcing my son under water... that he was a beginner and was not used to it and he did he know how to go under and she did it again. Needless to say we did not last more than 10 minutes in that class before I took him out of there. How dare they treat my son with so little respect to keep dunking him when he is showing obvious signs of distress. And no respect for the parent when I told them to stop. My son was so traumatized his nose started bleeding. This has never happened before and I will never go back. Parent use caution before sending your child there.

When we started lessons with our daughter, we started her at the YMCA at 6 months, in the 4 months we were there we learned nothing. We then learned about Aqua Tots and she learned more in the 3 months we were there than she ever would have learned at the Y. We came back this spring for lessons, she is only 22 months and is in the level 3 class and we started our 5-month-old son in the mommy-me class and it is going great! I recommend Aqua-Tots to everyone! The instructors are great, they know exactly what they are doing, they are fun, and great with the kids!

Everyone is very friendly, informative, and genuinely cares about my daughter and her success of becoming more comfortable in the water. We did a trial class at Goldfish Swim School the same day as our trial with AquaTots, and it was a night a day difference. Goldfish seemed to be newer and not as busy, but the personalized attention my daughter received from the moment we walked in the door at AquaTots, made our decision so easy. We are so happy with her progress already and she has only been attending Jordan's class for one month. Thank you!

My daughter has learned more in one month of lessons here than she did in an entire year of lessons at the Y. I'm blown away by how fast she is learning there and how comfortable they have made her in the water. Not to mention how amazing the facility is, it's always super clean and a great setup if you have other little munchkins to chase down while you're bigger kids are in lessons!

Our son has had a wonderful experience here. He had a difficult time with his first lesson and we were called the next morning to discuss what can be done to improve his experience. He is not only learning how to be a safe swimmer, but how to be an excellent swimmer.

We've been coming here for a year now, we love it!!
When we first stared, our son was terrified of the water and needless to say there was a lot of screaming and crying. The teachers and staff helped him (and us) ease into things and within a couple of weeks he was far more comfortable. They really know how to make kids feel comfortable around the pool. Each week he improved and now he can't get enough pool time! :) All of the staff is friendly and very accommodating. I love the fact that all the scheduling can be done online and it even sync's up to my phone/calendar so we're always up to date.
I'm so glad we found Aqua-Tots!

As a former instructor, I find aquatots to be a life changing experience. The staff is very efficient, helpful, and kind. Kids are learning how to be safe in the water, which is a very important skill to have. I recommend anyone to come to aquatots and learn how to swim.

Aqua-Tots is a great place to take your kids. All they do is teach swim lessons. Don't be fooled by their name- they teach adult lessons as well. They have been a wonderful addition to the Dayton area.
