A colleague of mine, who is an Athletic Trainer, recommended Athletic Performance Training Center when I told him about some back pain, shoulder pain, and an overall need to strengthen my body as I push toward 60 years old. As a beginner in the world of weight training, I was intimidated at the thought of working out with male trainers, and I imagined walking into a gym full of burly dudes and skinny chicks in sports bras! Still, I gave Brian a call, talked to him about my needs and concerns, and he invited me for a free session, just to check it out. I haven't looked back since--I love it! I don't feel uncomfortable at all, and when I recently went on vacation, I was surprised that I really missed doing my workouts! Jeff is there to SHOW me exactly what to do and how to do it without hurting myself. He keeps track of everything so I all have to do is do what I'm told--the decision-making is out of my hands. I have been working out twice a week for 5 months now, but I saw a difference in how my clothes fit after three weeks. I'm amazed what spending about 45 minutes twice a week has done for my body, my mood, and my fitness level. I'm confident that I am continuing to progress and get stronger every week! Look out 60!

I have always been intimidated by gyms, until I went to APTC. Not only do they put you at ease, they really work with your situation. I’m getting older & noticed that my desk job was taking its toll. I feel stronger & with their small group sessions, I know I am doing the exercises correctly. I also love the high five when I’m done!

With all the small gyms aka personal trainers out there. This was a perfect match for my daughter not only did she enjoy going when we could make it around her busy schedule, she got stronger and I saw a difference in her game! I highly recommend this place for your work outs

My wife and I began working out at APTC almost 5 years ago. We are currently in our early/mid 60's and it has made a significant difference in our overall fitness level. The workout rotations focus on different muscle groups and change every week to keep it interesting. Brian and his staff do a great job watching over us and providing just the right level of encouragement and "push". While they do train a number of young athletes, there are many of us older folks too. We highly recommend APTC, even if you are just starting out on your fitness journey.

My daughter had surgery to repair her dislocated patella. Once physical therapy was complete, she had range of motion but she wasn’t 100% ready for sports. A friend suggested APTC. Brian and his team are so kind and helpful. After only a few sessions I could see improvements in her strength and speed. She is overall a better athlete now and I can never thank APTC enough for all they have done.

Joining APTC was one of the best decisions I made. It allowed me to exercise at least twice a week for improved balance, strength and consistency.
The environment is pleasant and encouraging. The trainer’s are always engaged and motivating with a very positive attitude. How can you not stay positive with that service.
Recently due to years of repetitive shoulder abuse, APTC addressed my concerns and apprehension about my shoulder pain. With a series of exercises each week I now have increased mobility, flexibility and the absence of pain. The outcome is short of a miracle! Thank you, APTC staff.

I began training at APTC when I was 10 years old, nearing the end of 5th grade. My older brother trained at APTC, and I wanted to try it out since I played various sports at the time. I started with the speed and agility camp because I wanted to get faster, and then I started strength training as well. This was my first time lifting weights and working out in an organized, purposeful way. One issue that I have overcome at APTC is patellar knee pain. I started practicing knee-specific exercises in addition to my regular workout that have made my knees strong and healthy again. Another concern I had before I started training at APTC was that I was too small and would get pushed around on the soccer field. Since training at APTC, I have become a much more physical player. I have gained muscle mass that allows me to use my body to my advantage. I have seen growth in my performance on the soccer field since beginning training at APTC. I feel much more confident on the field than I did before. Coming to APTC is always one of my weekly highlights. Coach Brian and Coach Jeff always greet me with a smile and help me through my workouts. The other customers are very friendly, and I often find myself chatting with them throughout the workout. I might come into a workout feeling tired, but I always leave with a boost of energy and a feeling of productiveness that I can’t find anywhere else. Choosing to train here is one of the best decisions I have made, and I would not be who I am today without APTC.

I started working with APTC prior to Covid to get in shape, lose weight and feel better about myself leading up to my wedding, I was able to accomplish all those things according to my timeline and was happy with my results.
With all the changes and challenges in 2020, I took time away from ATPC and my focus on improvement also took some time off. In 2022 I sustained an injury, looking back the injury was the result of an active adult not properly training or preparing for activity. Coincidentally, Brian reached out to me to see how I was doing, and with that call, I decided to get back into training with APTC in the fall of 2022.
I am currently still Training with Brian and Jeff at APTC and I am more than satisfied with the overall state of where they have taken me. Friends have noticed the change of my physique, I am as strong as I was in College and I feel better about myself and what I’ve accomplished with their help and guidance.
Finally, Brian and Jeff are very professional in their approach, they invest in every individual and they are as invested as much as everyone is, if not more. They provide a culture of community and friendliness as well as hard work and structure. All workouts are customized to the individuals’ specifications and or limitations
As a side note, I needed surgery to repair the injury from 2022. If I had not been working with APTC there is NO WAY I would be able to get around my house, get to the car or even get in and out of the doctor’s office without a wheelchair. I am forever grateful!

My daughter, who is heading into high school, has been a client for over a year now. We cannot say enough good things about the staff and her experiences at APTC. Brian and his staff are knowledgeable and they not only build strength, but they do it the right way! If you have not checked this business out, you are missing the boat!!

My daughter and I both train at APTC. We followed Jeff from a previous location. Jeff and Brian are so personable and encouraging. I go mainly because I do not like doing strength training on my own and my daughter plays high school and club sports. Her lacrosse shot speed had increased by almost 20 mph after training with Jeff and her footwork had improved with his agility training. There is also a focus on injury prevention with their exercises for their athletes. Would highly recommend!

I have been training with Mr. Lebo and APTC for the past ten years. I am currently entering my senior season of collegiate volleyball at Nova Southeastern University. Back when I was 12, I went to APTC looking to get stronger and improve my vertical for volleyball. Not only did I find a facility to improve physically, but I found Mr. Lebo, who I consider family. The injury prevention exercises coupled with landing mechanics has kept me healthy throughout the entirety of my collegiate career. When I did obtain a traumatic hand injury at school, Mr. Lebo had exercises to help strengthen my grip and mobility of the hand as soon as I returned to APTC. Hang cleans have been a big obstacle for me throughout my training in college. To combat this, APTC implemented hang cleans into every workout which has gotten me to where I am at today. Mr. Lebo and APTC have been a huge part as to how I had the opportunity to play collegiate athletics. I not only got physically stronger, but also mentally. Pushing through tough workouts especially when I was tired, sore, or did not have much motivation, has strengthened my mental toughness. Mr. Lebo and the APTC staff and facility have had a profoundly positive impact on my life, for which I am forever grateful. I am so blessed to have been a part of APTC and to have met Mr. Lebo and the rest of the staff. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in my personal and athletic development, providing me with the tools and confidence to overcome challenges and achieve my goals.

APTC is a phenomenal place for all looking to train. I am a senior women trying to ward off the evils of aging . Brian and Jeff worked flawlessly with me to increase my strength and balance in a nonthreatening manner. I trained alongside folks of all ages and received individual attention supporting my mission of feeling better physically and emotionally.

Brian and Jeff have been great working with my son. He's getting stronger and more confident in working with weights now. The facility and coach to athlete ratio is perfect! We love that it is not too crowded and the coaches can assist and guide my son with form, correct weight and understanding what the movements are doing to help him get stronger.

Staying strong as an osteopenia patient is the key to preventing further bone loss and accidents that lead to broken bones. At APTC stability and strength training are key for my personalized training program. Unlike other gyms or even physical therapy your trainer at APTC stays right with you as you go through the workout, correcting your movements and evaluating the weight.
I appreciate the 1 on 1 that I get at APTC as well as their knowledge on physiology and the clean environment.
A great place to go to LEARN how to PROPERLY lift weights and to get motivated for a life of healthy workouts and good food choices.

I am a 50yr + male and former college athlete. I discovered Brian and APTC about 5 years ago while looking for a place for my daughter to build her strength, improve her speed and enhance her agility for HS soccer. After observing a few sessions, I believed it was time for me to also get back in the gym and change my “Dad Bod”!
Brian and his team helped my daughter learn to enjoy weight training, train the proper way and stay healthy throughout her HS career. I continue to be a part of the “breakfast club”, a dedicated group of adults who train regularly.
The benefits have been long lasting. My overall health is better, it relives stress in a positive way and I sleep better while enjoying some really good people and young athletes who continue to motivate me in the gym.

We were excited when APTC opened in Youngstown. My son is a young athlete that was interested in strength training. He’s been going the past two years and loves it. And as a parent, I love the focus on avoiding injury in sports. The workouts are fun and challenging and everyone there has been amazing!!!!

My high school athlete needed help learning how to weightlift correctly, but also how to keep his muscles balanced to prevent injury. APTC has taught him all those things and more. He loves his coaches and is always excited for his next training session.
