Great gym, great people! I’ve been going to this gym for a number of years and really enjoy the workout programming, flexibility of classes with my schedule, and the community. I’ve achieved many strength goals with the birdtown coaching team’s guidance and support.

I’ve been at Birdtown Strength for about five years now, and it’s hands-down one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. I had never done any CrossFit-style training before joining, but the coaches guided me from day one and made everything feel achievable.

What really sets this place apart is the community—everyone is friendly, encouraging, and genuinely wants to see each other succeed. It’s the kind of gym where you actually look forward to showing up. Plus, the membership cost is more reasonable compared to other similar gyms in the area, especially considering the quality of coaching and programming you get.

If you’re even thinking about trying it, do it. Birdtown Strength is the real deal.

Birdtown Strength is an excellent community-oriented gym. They have knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help you scale, adjust workouts, but also push you when needed! I appreciate having a place to mix in barbell lifting and HIIT-style workouts; there is just the right amount of competitive spirit!

Birdtown Strength is a great fit for anyone looking to start CrossFit, seasoned CrossFit athletes, and everyone in between. All the coaches are so welcoming, knowledgeable, and promote both physical and mental health. The box has a really unique location in the Lake Erie Building, and the space is really big. BTS also has a wonderful social community and is queer friendly.

I live out of state, but visit lakewood often for family and work. Whenever I’m in town, dropping into Birdtown Strength is a must. The people are welcoming and friendly, the workouts are challenging (in a good way), the equipment is in great condition, the coaches are knowledgeable, and the gym is in a really cool space. Sometimes dropping into CrossFit gyms from out of town can be intimidating, I never felt that way here. Visiting Birdtown Strength is definitely one of the highlights for me when I’m in town, I highly recommend checking it out.

The hardest part is finding the gym your first time. Park on the side of the building, walk straight thru the loading dock, and up the stairs to the 3rd floor, you’ll see signs along the way. These stairs will become your nemesis after a leg intensive workout.

Birdtown Strength is a great gym with great people: the community is very welcoming, the coaching is thoughtful and encouraging, and the facility is well equipped and well laid out. Birdtown is great about meeting you where you are and listening to your goals. If you want to focus on the sport element of crossfit and do all RX workouts, the support is there for that; if you're more interested in being more physically active, they'll give lots of scaling options to make workouts accessible. If you're looking for a crossfit gym, I highly recommend Birdtown.

I love this gym! I’ve been a member for 6 years and I can’t say enough about how great it’s been to be part of such a supportive community that makes it easy to commit to fitness. This gym is all about doing the workout that’s right for you and your fitness level, so it’s a great place to be whether you’re a beginner or more experienced athlete. The coaches and members are all very friendly and welcoming, and there is no pressure to overdo it or be super competitive. The coaches always offer amazing support and personalized advice that’s helped me stay consistent at the gym through two pregnancies and continue working out safely while navigating new life stages. I highly recommend this gym!!

I was so resistant to joining a CrossFit gym until I went to Birdtown. This gym meets you exactly where you are in your fitness journey and the people are the absolute best. I love the gym and the people in my various classes, but the owners need to communicate a little bit better, I am still waiting to hear from one of them. So let me start of by saying that I actually, from the bottom of my heart, love this gym. I will admit though that at first I was skeptical, solely based on what I've heard about cross-training gyms. I figured there would be some meat heads and alot of judging, but I was so so wrong. The trainers have a passion to actually help people achieve their goals and become the better versions they are seeking to be. Then the classes are full of hard-working individuals, of many different lvls, struggling through the workouts like everyone else. People cheer you on and engage with one another in a positive way. They hold events to hang out with one another and just enjoy each other's company. Truly a great place to learn and grow. Give it a try, yesterday.

if you are still wandering around and thinking which CrossFit gym would be the best fit for you. Look no further my friend! Birdtown crossfit is the best option you would ever find.

Since the day I joined coaches were very helpful. They walked me through each workout and made sure my technique was adequate to perform better and faster.

Workouts are super challenging but do not worry because there are plenty of scaling options for everyone ... yes ... EVERYONE!

BTCF community is simply the best out there, people will treat you like you are part of a big family because they want you to feel comfortable and ready to kill it in the WODs.

Do you really need more? Just give it a try... you’ll thank me later.

I can not say enough good things about Birdtown CrossFit! What you will notice right away is how EVERYONE is so nice and welcoming! Coming from a bodybuilder background I can tell you this is very refreshing! The coaches here are amazing and while they want you to challenge yourself they also do not want you to injure yourself. They are always watching out for you and making sure you are comfortable with the movements. I have learned more about form and why it is so important here at Birdtown more than I ever have with any bodybuilding coach getting me ready for stage!

If you are of the mind that CrossFit is cult-like or the gyms are non-welcoming, you've never been to Birdtown CrossFit.

The coaches are all of the highest caliber. They're personable, timely, caring, and knowledgeable. Each one has their own area of expertise or interest within the fitness sphere and can contribute to your personal growth. I've never felt stupid here asking a question.

I've never felt like I was looked down upon by other members for being less experienced as those who have been working at it for years.

If you don't have CrossFit experience, there's a two week series of fundamental classes you go through before going to regular classes. After you're finished with that, the coaches work with you to remember and learn new movements.

The two owners, Jillian and Tricia (also coaches), are superb and strive to constantly improve classes and gym space for members.
