Overall pretty lovely place, definitely one of the better Y locations in the Cinci area! However, the women's locker room showers consistently have a "wet dog" smell, and there are always a dozen used bandaids lying around the edges of the pools. I think more regular maintenance would be really beneficial, and it's especially important in a wet environment like a locker room where foot fungus can be transmitted!

I went in for a first visit before registering with the Blue Ash Y. I got a good tour, had my questions answered and I was very pleased with all I saw there! I didn't need the classes. I'll start working out Monday morning.

I took a TEX class for the first time, the class was great and very interesting. I was able to do most of the moves without any difficulties but felt the workout the next day but worked it out and felt great two days later.
It would be nice if this class was at least twice a week. π
TRX workouts utilize a suspension training system that leverages body weight and gravity to deliver a full-body workout, improving strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability. The TRX system, developed by Navy SEAL Randy Hetrick, uses adjustable straps and your own body weight to perform exercises, making it versatile and adaptable for various fitness levels.

My kids and I visited to take advantage of the outdoor pool. It was nice and heated to an enjoyable temperature. It wasnβt at all crowded but the pool is very large as well. I enjoyed the music that was played and they provided adults only swim time which is nice. Will visit again for sure.

Derrick would never.
I am deeply disappointed with the current state of our athletic department, largely due to the poor leadership and lack of organizational skills demonstrated by the athletic director. Communication is inconsistent, schedules are often last-minute or incorrect, and there appears to be no clear system in place for managing teams, events, or resources efficiently. This kind of disorganization negatively affects both student-athletes and coaching staff, making it difficult to plan and prepare adequately.
In particular, the alignment of the soccer teams is completely unbalanced, which reflects a lack of thoughtful oversight and understanding of player abilities. Some teams are overloaded with experienced players while others are struggling to stay competitive, leading to a frustrating and discouraging environment for athletes. These imbalances could have been easily addressed with proper evaluations and more attention to team formation.
Overall, it's clear that a significant change is needed in the leadership of the athletic department to restore fairness, structure, and faith in the ymca sports department.
Hopefully sooner than later, blue ash ymca can return to the stellar program it use to have.

I had a very discouraging time the last week of March and first week of April at this Y so much so I don't plan to return.I would go to the last swim of the day that starts at 8PM,and on those weeks the swim lesson instructor ran 15 minutes late ending her lessons. On the app an even the lifeguard we talked to it was stated if i was signed up which I was I would of had a lane 8-8:45. It had been a very difficult week for me and the instructor and parent seemed only to care about their time and money. All I wanted to do was get my full swim in to try and relax and get some exercise at the same time. Hopefully the higher ups will talk to the swim instructors and say everyone who walks into the Y deserves to have their time respected we all pay for a membership, and lessons shouldn't consistently run over into lap swim time.I really don't think how I felt or that I was burnt out mattered at a Christian facility.

The staff always greets you when you come it. I saw someone mention that all the weight are mismatched -they're in good order and nothing is missing on the wall by the machines. There are additional small weights on the other end of the room and kettlebells in another area.
They have medicine balls, yoga mats and squishy mats for you to stretch on as well as the inflatable exercise balls + 1 Bosu.
Lots of treadmills, multiple stair machines, 2 rowing machines and multiple bikes. I have never seen all the cardio equipment full.
Weight machines seem to all work well. I don't recommend visiting "after school" time unless you like vying for space with high school athletes.
I use the sauna almost every day and sometimes the steam room. The locker room is clean and well kept with private changing areas. My husband swims multiple times a week, alternating between pools in the separate buildings and likes them.
The basketball court is well kept.
The outdoor pool is being rebuilt as of this writing (March, 2025) and it looks like it will be incredible.
There is plenty of parking, the exception being when there is a swim meet.

For such a stiff monthly fee this Y has a lot to be desired. Total count of treadmills is 12, 2 stairmasters, the weights are all mismatched and truly no one who goes in there cares about what it looks like. Kids are in the fitness center area taking up the already lacking machines. Canβt even get a good workout in.

The locker room shower floor is absolutely disgusting.
I have told 3 separate people and all three said they would tell someone who is responsible for keeping the place clean.
So now I am going to post pictures of the floor and show everyone what the men and boys have to step through in the shower room.
Maybe they will clean it some day, but I doubt it.

They weren't very welcoming. I let them know that i would be moving to the area. And i wanted to come, look at the facility. They stated, "i would already need to be a resident." That's weird . You would want people to feel warm fuzzies about your city. But someone warned me about folks in the city.

We played YMCA soccer this year and it was a really great experience for my daughter. They coordinated a snack plan with parents with ease, and they had a great portal that kept parents updated with any changes or new events, and the current game/practice schedule. Their athletic director Derek Mast is top notch and cares about the quality of the program as well as the fun that the kids have while playing. It was my first year so she didn't know much about soccer but we have some solid understanding now on the fundamentals. Looking forward to playing a YMCA sport again with this location in the future.
