We have a group of 8 that travels about 60 miles from Cincinnati every week. Playing all the public courses. After 3 weeks of hardly any rain. The course is in great shape. The bunkers were great. The greens are true and hardly any divots. Most holes are dog legs. I would highly recommend this course. We'll play it 2-3 times next year in our rotation.

Course is in very poor shape.
Bunkers are low on sand. Fairways have many areas that are completely unplayable. At $53 for 18 holes with a cart, you do not get a worthwhile golf experience. Go to TPC in Franklin if you want to play a run down course in the area, youβll save some money.

I booked a tee time as a single, expected to get paired with others, but played the 18 by myself in under 3.5 hours. The course is in magnificent shape. Fairways well manicured, greens ran a bit slower early, but as the day warmed up, and I made the turn, they got a bit faster.
There is a practice range available and the practice green is a short walk to the first tee.
Three various tee options for the average/ senior player. I played the blue which were not significantly longer than the white.
Absolutely worth the 1.5 drive from Columbus. If you enjoy a well kept "classic" style layout then book your next getaway round here.

The course I decent, but man. What are you guys thinking with this dumb drop your bags at the entrance ordeal. Itβs literally so bad that me and my golfing buddies will avoid this place unless we canβt get a tee time somewhere else. You have to drop your bags at the entrance. Drive to the parking lot. Walk to the club house. Then walk back to the entrance to get a cart and bags. Then g your going to the range drive a half mile to the other side of the club house. And donβt even get me started about how horrible it is if one person gets there before the other and is already on the range. Now you have to do this whole ordeal again just to pick your partner up. I mean itβs like they are trying to make people not come here because of this silly mess. Whatβs the point of all of it? Why not just let people drive the cart from the club house to the parking lot like literally every other course? Horrible decision.

I was a member at BR during the glory years. I have not been there in 2 or 3 years. I was blown away w the difference. It was obvious that the current ownership has put their $βs and heart into bringing the corse back to the pristine state it used to be. Even the roughs were free of weeds and crab grass like 2-3 years ago. Yes as an NCR member now the greens were slow in comparison but the fairways, tees, and greens were pristine like NCR. The remodeling of pro shop w the outdoor veranda w several tables of nice furniture. The counter to it w direct acess to the bar and the tables inside w TV βs really took advantage of the space. It was crowded and play flowed fine as we walked and used our own carts. When we canβt play at NCR I will really push it as a great alternate. Congrats to the new owners!

bought my husband a round of golf with a friend. booked online and NO WHERE did it say you would be paired with 2 others. if he wanted a 4some he would have brought 2 other people. my husband has played golf over 30 years and was paired with people who had played 30 days, and knew no golf etiquette. MISERABLE time for a lot of money. Course nice and staff nice but golf ruined for fathers Day. Thanks. Won't ever book here again.

I like the course changes over the last few years. Going back to 10 minute tee times is a positive compared to last year and I'm happy to pay more to not be crammed into 6 minute tee times with a stressed ranger.
What keeps me away is the forced cart fee. We walk because it's faster for us and more affordable, but you have to pay a cart fee here. Strongly dislike this trend at some courses. Many studies have shown walkers are faster than carts in groups. This would be our go-to course if we could pay $40 to walk, instead we just drive to Yankee or Pipestone instead if walking.

Played yesterday, course was in great shape. Pace of play was fast, walked 18 holes in three hours. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Pro shop looked recently updated. I thought the rate was fair. My only recommendation would be to give walkers a little price break (same rate for cart and walk). Overall, a great day of golf and I will be back. Thanks!!

Preface this by saying the course is very nice, and have played here many times. My group payed for 18, at 2:30, and were told to start on the back 9. We were told to play quick, and we finished in an hour and 15 mins. On the front nine, a high school match had just started. When we went to get a rain check, we were given half of our rate back, which was not a 9 hole rate since we booked on a deal. So now, we will paying more than it wouldβve for us to have just played 18, and we would have easily finished 18 holes if told to start on the front. I donβt understand this and NO other golf course operates this way.

Great course, great amenities. However our tee time was at 9:15, we were on the fairway on #2 at 9:30. The ramger came up to us and said we were 1.5 holes behind. There was no one behind us. Two holes later the same ranger approached us again and said we were lolli gagging and was once again behind. He got combative with us. We made the turn in two hours and finished in 3:55. Loved the course but you lost 4 customers today. The beverage cart girl just sat in one spot and didnβt move. It was rediculous . Itβs sad what this place could be and what it is.

I've played here a pretty good number of times. The course is usually in pretty good shape. Is it worth $60+, no. The traps need some sand in them, right now they are softball infields with nearly nothing in them. You need to add sand/mix to the carts. Too many fairways with monstrous divots in them, especially of you are going to keep the fairways that wet. But let's get to the meat and potatoes of this review. The new drop area for bags is absolutely stupid. It begs for back ups for people arriving for their tee times. Secondly, drop your bag off, then park your car, then walk over to the club house, then walk back out to the bag drop, pick up your cart and load your bag. This process is so inconvenient, it is the exact opposite of every golf course known to man. Now, the make over and addition to the club house are great, I will give you that, but does it warrant flipping the 9's, absolutely not. You sacrificed a beautiful ending hole, so that people would drive by the bar on the turn. If people want to grab a drink, they know where the bar is, after all it's right next to where we all paid for our overpriced round. You have failed every golfer with these changes just to up liquor sales. Usually golf courses that put food and drink over the playability and efficiency of the course, fail.

Booked 18 for $60 on Tuesday for Saturday and were told when we were checking in it would be $66 because they were busier and had βflexβ rates. On top of that, we were bothered by the ranger about pace of play when the closest group behind us was 2 holes back and never caught up while we were stuck behind a twosome. Absolute nonsense for an ok course that has quickly become overpriced. Be careful booking on a weekend and expecting to pay the same price. What a joke.

If youβd like to be bugged by the ranger 12 times in a round about pace of play, regardless of who is in front of you, this is the place for you! Fairway low spots are constantly soaked regardless of recent rain or not, and tee boxes are tore up and not repaired by players. Nice course layout but every interaction with the ranger made me not want to come back more and more.

The course itself was good and has been well maintained. The new pro shop and patio were great areas. The restroom was placed in an inconvenient location, being located up a set of stairs and in a locker room. Overall, I thought the $69 price for 18 holes was too steep. Similar city courses in the area are around 40-50 dollars.

Played Sunday at 11. Course was in good shape, but thatβs where it ends. Tee time management was horrible. They were letting singles play by themselves, got stuck behind a six some at the turn, and the cart girl found a nice shaded spot to camp out in.

The golf course is good. Simple and fun. I'd give it 5 stars, but for a few notable issues with the way they do business:
1) Brown's Run is *way* too expensive. $50-$60 for 18 holes on a run-of-the-mill, mediocre at best golf course is far too much to ask. It's a golf course I'd love to play every day, if only they didn't charge exorbitant greens fees.
2) Along with the pricing structure, it's ludicrous to not have a walking rate, especially on such a walkable golf course. Golf is supposed to be exercise. Stop charging people a cart fee if they want to walk. It's asinine.
3) More of a personal note, but switching the nines to try to get people to spend more money on food is also ridiculous.
You have a good golf course. Stop trying to squeeze every possible penny out of your customers.

I hope you figured out how to better set Tee Times. Sunday 4/28/2024 was not good. The first nine holes took us over 3 hours to complete. We go to ask if we could get a credit for 9 holes being the back 9 was going to be just as bad, and we got a hard "NO". I wish I took a picture of one Tee Box had 6 carts waiting. We left only playing 4 of the back 9. Never seen nothing like it.

Nice track. Good condition. Many trees need pruning to bring back original design intent of course. Disappointing that walkers have to pay for cart fee whether you want one or not. Too many other good courses around to warrant paying extra $15-$20 to walk there.

Always love playing browns run but something about the older rangers dude rolling up and trying to make conversation and give pointers in the middle of the fairway multiple times during each of my last 3 rounds is very off-putting. Not worth giving a bad review but figured that someone should know. Big turn off! I want to relax while golfing! Donβt want rangers rolling all up on me for no reason in my backswing!

This golf course was a private course that needed to go public. Let me say, it is a hidden gem for golfers in the area. Wonderful fairways, fine greens, most tee boxes are nice, sandtraps were fine. A little hard to find. Need GPS. About 37 minutes from Fairfield. Price $39 with cart. This was weekday. No water holes, no creeks across fairways. Greens guarded by sand. Older trees.

The heyday has come and gone at Brown's Run and it shows, especially in the bunkers and the rough areas. The greens and fairways are still in good shape though. Brown's Run needs some serious work. They've had 5 days of beautiful weather and the rough was super high and full of weeds. The fairways and greens were decent but somewhat hard and there were spike marks all over the green. The tee boxes need some love as they had weeds and longer grass coming in as well. Overall, a decent layout. Not my favorite course to play in this area but hopefully things will improve throughout the summer.

Not worth 50 bucks during the week. Poooooor management, I can see why they had to go public. Don't waste your money, you can golf at a lot better courses for half the price and in a lot better shape. They can't even manage the tee times and groups. They started us our on the back because of a league which was fine back made the turn and bam......they started people out on the front, in front of people making the turn. Long waiting backside. Good luck, I will not go back even for half the price.

This course has potential. I mean, it used to be a country club! When paying for my round, I was told the greens and fairways were in grrat condition. Neither were true. Huge patches of dead grass everywhere. I was also told they had an irrigation problem earlier this year. If so, fine. But don't tell me how excellent the condition of the course is if the entire thing is starved for water. I played 2 courses in Dayton yesterday that cost less and were much better experiences than this course. The layout is great, but if they want to charge $8 more for a subpar experience, I will drive to Yankee Trace or Pipestone every time.
