I am not the type of person that post negative comments often so please read this review carefully before you make any decisions on a gym membership with this facility….I been going here since 2023 and I quit going after a year because this place is a mess. Some windows are boarded up, and both the old and “new” equipment are outdated or barely work. The billing system is terrible, and canceling only leads to more fees. Save your money. This gym is NOT WORTH IT. If they upgraded the space and equipment, they wouldn’t need to charge for everything.

I never signed up for a membership. Never stepped in the building until today, but I have being charged monthly. I was also charged an annual fee yesterday and was told since I canceled today it can't be refunded. If I never signed up, fees on my behave should not have been taken; time to call my council.

I did a 7 day trail and on the first day noticed all the weights for any lifting bars were ruined. This makes it impossible to know what weight is actually being lifted. They also stated they had boxing but instead it was kick boxing. The best part about this gym is that it is very close and I could walk there. I would have still signed up however like most gyms should I need the cancel the process would be very difficult. Even though I wanted to pay the whole year in advance. I see people were still getting charged after their term expired if they don’t walk in or write a letter for cancellation. That seems very sketchy since it shows 1 year on the website. I’m more skeptical of gyms due to the hidden fees and misleading advertising. This gym is no different. I give it two stars for confidence and pricing. The staff tried to spin words saying boxing and kick boxing is the same and that they would repair the equipment but I knew that time wouldn’t come within the year if I’d signed up.

I paid for the year only went for about 5 months. I told them when I was signing up do not renew membership , they renewed it automatically anyways. Me and my wife had to go in and sign papers stating to cancel. One month later still getting bill when I contacted them they said that was the last one eventhough I have net been there. My wife and I went here to do personal training years ago when we lived in Columbus. We had a great time and the kids watch was convenient for our little one. I kind of miss it and we had to move once my time was up with my employer and decided to head back to Florida.

I love this place. It's not the newest, fanciest gym; it's more like your favorite pair of jeans: comfortable, well-loved, fits just right. The owner and the manager are good, knowledgeable guys, and their rates are reasonable. I appreciate that it's not all skinny blonde people working out here, but rather normal people of all walks of life who want to improve/maintain their fitness.

There are multiple classes, plenty of machines, free weights, a basketball area, TVs, child care, saunas, and coming soon will be a spin class. Check it out!

Giving them a star is due to how I have shadily charged and when I realized I could get a better offer else where and asked to cancel, I was charged over 100 dollars despite being charge for that same month. Now that's sad and pretty much unfair. I will never use here again, and I would advise if you want to use them, do not get into any form of plan, pay as you go if there is that option, if not go else where..

Great gym to go and get a good pump, it's a smaller gym so you see the same people weekly and you make friends pretty easily. Plus they have a great basketball court to either shoot around or play 2v2 or 3v3.

If you have been in any other gym you would know that this one is pretty sub-par. True you cannot beat the price of $10/month, but that is only a deal if you can overlook cleanliness, worker enthusiasm, and broken equipment.

I've more than once brought up the sauna condition to who I can only assume is the owner. Gum, bandaids, months of dirt and dust are caked on its heater system. The tile around the drain, that is higher than the floor so they can not hose out the room, is crumbling. The fix, a rubber mat over the drain for over a year now. The shower are pretty horrible as well.

Some equipment is missing pins even the connectors for different bars so they just sit there. Found gum and a wadded paper towel in one of the cardio machine, told the people at the front desk and it didn't get cleaned for weeks.

Those that are working are too envolved in Facebook, eachother or getting a quick workout in on the clock to refill the spray bottles or paper towel despensers.

Like I said can beat the price, but greatly lower your expectations. I hope that they close and another, more reputable gym moves in. ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAD TO.

I recently moved to a different state and in all the chaos I forgot to cancel my gym membership! I called to cancel over the phone, obviously since I don't live in Ohio anymore, and they will not let you cancel over the phone. They said I could send a handwritten letter and cancel through mail and that was my only option besides driving six hours back to Ohio to cancel a gym membership. Very poor customer service.

Gym is cool, but they’re shady about charging you after your first year. Also, you’re allowed to bring a guest but they will harass them mercilessly about joining. I brought a friend who is an undocumented worker and it made him really uncomfortable. Very high pressure, just like when you check it out for the first time and they pressure you to join. When I joined I paid a year up front. I was told that my credit card would never be charged, they just needed one on file. Year was up in March. In June, I got texts saying there’s a problem with my payment and to come in or call to remedy it. Since I’m at a new gym, I blow it off. Then comes my June statement, they took it upon themselves to charge multiple charges in a single month. Called to cancel, but no, I have to come in. Guy says “corporate won’t let me refund the money”. LOL, this is the only location; corporate? Huge pain, now I have to dispute the charges. Avoid these guys. Thank me later

After reading some other reviews I do not feel so alone in the way I was manipulated to sign up. Firstly I am disabled and a senior. I went to their gym just to find out prices and how it worked, I am on a fixed income and even an extra 10 bucks a month has to be somehow worked into my budget.
To make a long story short I was pressured and manipulated to sign papers that I couldnt see or understand ( cataracts) and pressured for my debit card info with the promise nothing would be taken out for a month. It was taken out immediately I learned after going to the grocery store and have my debit card declined because of it so had to skim by without milk , bread, and what have you for that week.
Canceled card so no more could be taken out and called to cancel.
Two years later getting collection for over 300 dollars and wanting me to come in to cancel pay the 300 plus 75 cancelation.
Anuway now being pressured to pay all this money for something not used or even wanted now. I do not bend to high pressire sales tactics or threats of collections. I am making a report to the ohio dept of aging over this matter.
Why would someone make this up? I have nothing to gain but they do.

Went into the gym today, looking to be see the feel of the gym, I’ve relocated and it’s close to my home. For the few months that I will be here I wanted to get a new gym membership. They wouldn’t allow me to do the pass because I had an out of state ID and wanted me to pay 15 bucks for a day pass! I had read bad reviews about the gym and wanted to see for my self,l. They are money hungry, auto renew your contract , so there is no end. Small businesses like this should be ashamed of them selves. As a government employee, I would never go bs i here ever again . the fact that I had a 7 day pass and they didn't even enter it into their system so I didn't get my full 7 day. The locker rooms are low key gross, the sauna is atrocious , looks like it hasn't been washed for years. The staff is lazy, there are weights everywhere scattered. Good gym for $10. No pool, just two halves of basketball court on concrete with low ceiling.

Why I gave it one star: If you're going to stop going there, don't simply stop paying/or showing up. I found out the hard way that most gyms, including this one locks you in an extended contract even if you originally signed up for one year. You have to physically go in (not just a phone call either) to cancel your gym membership.

I received $70+ in a notice to pay from collections because I'd changed my card I used to sign up originally. I called the gym and asked them why I owed this amount since I paid everything up front when I signed up in the beginning of my contract. They responded the charges were for the months past the original one year contract. They stated I had to speak to a representative in order to have it cancelled. Long story short, I paid for months I wasn't in that gym and the prorated amount. Never going back.

I actually think this gym has the ability to be very good but the most of the people commenting are right. I never see them cleaning the machines and when a machine breaks down you better believe its down for a long time. half the time there aren't even spray to wipe down the machines and there are only about 4-5 paper towel dispensers for the whole gym. I don't use the shower or the sauna so I can't speak to that. Other than that this gym isn't bad for 10 dollars a month. I went to crunch fitness(aussie fit) and I was impressed. You can tell they are more dedicated to their gym and had paper towels in the restroom. The reason I go is because of the location of gym.

In August I terminated my membership with California Fitness due to my foot issues. Not working out has been horribly challenging for me emotionally and physically. It is only made worse by the fact that they charged me the September membership fee....but now they are charging me a yearly membership fee even though I am physically unable to use there facilities. CalFit 10 on 161, is one of the best gym that I have joined. They are very motivating they always encouraging me to keep coming and not to give up. There was a time when I stopped coming and they called me and asked when I was coming back in. That let me know that they cared because they didn't have to because I was paying them each month.
