I have been lifting and taking cardio classes at Carter for over 4 years now. It is the longest I have been consistent at any gym and I have been so happy with my results. The coaches all push and motivate me and as a result I am lifting heavier than I ever thought I could! The evening/Saturday cardio classes are challenging but fun, and I genuinely look forward to attending. But the best part of this gym are the people I've met. The community is great, everyone is friendly, and we all cheer each other on. If you want to see results and meet some great people who love to work out, invest in yourself here!!

Carter fitness is the best gym around! The coaches are so knowledgeable and will work with you at any fitness level. I love the structured workouts that keep coming to the gym different and challenging. Everyone in the gym is welcoming and fun to workout with. I’ve tried a lot of gyms over the years and Carter’s has by far been my favorite! They have helped me come back after knee surgery and I’m stronger today than I ever have been. I have been a member of Carter Fitness for just over 4 months now, and I have nothing but exemplary things to say. My fitness journey over the years has waxed and waned given lack of motivation at times, and I have been a part of many “corporate” gyms in the past, but the one thing I love the most at Carter Fitness is that I have never lost the motivation. Not once. It has only strengthened. Never in a million years did I think I could wake up for a 5:15am strength class 2-3x/week. Carter Fitness changed that. I feel a yearning to go to the gym because I am held accountable by my coaches, and the sense of camaraderie amongst the members is something special that I have never been a part of. It is just incredible. Unlike prior gyms, where I was not held accountable and would sort of come and go as I pleased often with weeks in between, I did not thrive and quite honestly just gave up. I now feel great every day whether I work out or not because I am healthier, more motivated to take on the work day, and more focused on my own health and maintaining that level of health. I eat better. I sleep better. I manage stress better. My work-life balance is better. The coaches (Jimmy, Maria, and Greg) are truly exceptional at what they do. A basic difference here at Carter Fitness is that good exercise form is very important to achieve one’s goals as opposed to just lifting heavy and risking injury with crap form. Simply put, I can’t thank these guys enough for fundamentally changing the way I view the importance of good health. I now have a better relationship with exercise and diet and these guys helped make that transformation happen! Thank you, Carter Fitness!

Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts! I wanted to share my recent experience with a 30-day Challenge Event to reduce bodyfat by 2% in 30 days. This Challenge was organized and led
by Coaches Maria and Katie and included a weight training regimen, dietary intake assessments through a user-friendly Cronometer App, and ample support via group chat. What
I want to share is what worked for me. I have long been disciplined about calorie intake and working out. Yet reducing body fat composition proved elusive, especially with age. But in this Challenge Event, I learned two things previously unknown. First, my diet was woefully deficient in protein. Second, my body responded much better to a 6 day a week workout routine (3
weightlifting, 3 cardio) rather than my normal 5. These two simple, but powerful, discoveries made all the difference and prove to be my personal Rosetta Stone. I made my goal and I have been able to stay on track and continue my progress! Thank you Coach Maria and Coach Katie! Connie H.

I have been going to Carter Fitness for about 3 years now mainly focusing on the strength training and it continually gets better. Carter Fitness has, in effect, been my “go to” Health Insurance for 5+ years. Having trained with Jimmy Carter prior to launch of his practice, I quickly joined. I say “practice “ as it’s a very learned expertise that is applied to all his training. Regardless of gender, age, or sometimes specific (and varied) health conditions his clientele bring to Carter Fitness for exercise , strength training, or even training “around a condition “ (whether that be temporary or ongoing) —- one can be assured you’ll be set-up with a program tailored for you.

I came into his gym (again, to me, a “practice”) under the watchful eye of a Doctor who had “regrouped” me after I unwittingly developed a back condition attributable to Rowing Crew for “too long on one side.” Jimmy learned my past and developed a program for me. All I’ve done every day since is progressively gotten better, stronger, and more agile — all without incurring further injury or regression on my back condition. In fact, I am not even sure I would describe myself as having a “bad back” anymore! That is 90% attributable to Carter Fitness pushing but not straining, driving without being overbearing. As I said, to me, it’s a “learned & applied” training practice.

The Gym attracts old & young alike and all groups (regardless of age or gender segment) seem to excel and have FUN keeping in shape. I’ve witnessed many friendships originating from bonding during regular workouts.

Truth told, when I begin my personal budgeting process ever year, Carter Fitness is one of my first mandatory line items—I suppose right after Food!

I highly recommend anyone checking out Carter Fitness as a place to get in shape, maintain it, or stretch oneself to peak condition.

I’ve been going to Carter for only a few short months now and was referred to this gym from a friend. I can only speak as a Fit AF member but it’s been totally awesome. This is a place where anyone can feel welcomed and encouraged. As someone who’s had memberships at a ton of different gyms, the vibe here is definitely different in a great way. You see the same friendly people and everyone’s working hard together. Nate is incredible as a trainer and really helps clients work toward their goals in an effective but super caring way. There’s the environment of accountability with trainers for sure. The thing I love the most about the HIIT methods here is that I don’t have to think about anything and can be in and out in a super efficient time and know that I had a great workout. I’ve been attending Carter Fitness for the last 4+ years. The team here is fantastic! I’ve participated in both the strength and cardio programs. The cardio classes (Fit AF) are quick and challenging but adaptable for all levels. The strength program is my favorite, I’ve seen great results and am never bored in class. Jimmy and his team recently worked with me through my entire pregnancy and helped me stay in shape up until the day I delivered, and now they are helping me recover post-partum. I highly recommend this facility and team!

I could write a blog about all the great things at Carter FITNESS but I’ll try and keep it short! I’ve been a member of carter fitness for 3 months now and the facility, management and training are among the best I’ve experienced. I am currently enrolled in their group intense cardio training referred to as FitAF, living up to its name, and personal strength training where you have hands on training from experienced, credited trainers to include the owner himself. I think it speaks volumes when the owner himself has a hand in every aspect of what’s going on within his facility.
I am a single mother of a teenage boy who works a full time job that requires much of my time. I balance motherhood and work, while also trying to squeeze in time to be healthy and active and actually enjoy working out! I choose to do my strength training in the morning and Carter offers a variety of accommodating times to work around everyone’s busy schedules. I’m able to workout, get back home to make breakfast and still drive my son to school everyday! I choose to do the FitAF classes in the evenings when my schedule is free. I would not be doing cardio like this without the great motivation behind the amazing group of men and women who are members and the coaches, Monica and Nate!!! They are encouraging and guide you and push you to keep going when you want to quit. I’m so happy I found this hidden gem (no pun intended)! 🏋🏻‍♀️💪🏻

I started coming to Carter Fitness when I was using class pass to checkout other gyms and studios in the area. I was already at another gym but felt like I had reached a fitness plateau. Once I went to one Fit AF class I was hooked. I love how they incorporate weights into the HITT class and every workout is different.
I waited way too long to pull the trigger and start the lifting program in addition to the HITT classes. It’s been two months since becoming a member and doing both 3x a week. I can’t believe how much of a difference I can already see in my physical appearance but more importantly I feel so strong and confident. I can’t wait to see what I’ll be able to accomplish in another 6months!
If you’re on the fence about joining, I highly recommend it. Everyone here is amazing. Not only the trainers but also the other clients here give it a “family feel.”
