What's the point of the new app with fancy notifications, if you don't use them consistently? I had to call to get the holiday hours.
I love the staff and the gym. Management has done a good job recently getting things back in order, very commendable. But I still think there could be some innovative solutions about 24/7 gym access. Have members only badge access, maybe charge an extra 24/7 fee even, just make sure all the offices and the locker room is locked until staff arrive during normal hours.

Their βlaundry β keeps breaking down and no towel service. I come to workout & have to go to work dirty & sweaty, or be late. Either have reliable towel service or donβt have it at all. Itβs happened at least 3-4 times already. Ughhh

Just got all new weight resistance training equipment. All top notch equipment. Hardly ever have to wait to get on a piece of equipment, if you go at off-peak times during the business day. Also a variety of fitness classes throughout the dayβsomething for everyone.

This is the prettiest gym I've ever worked out.
Free coffee in the morning.
There's not free parking unless you come at early morning hours, or mornings on the weekend.
Renovations and new equipment added in December 2024.
Intermittent child care available for members. Before the renovations, the machines were getting dust heavy + sometimes breaking.
It can be busy at peek hours, but if you're flexible about how you work out and lift weights, you'll find free weights and machines here.
There's a TV and sitting area. It's popular for drinking coffee, watching sports, watching news, and catching up with other members.

Lovely facility, with several floors of equipment and spaces to exercise, including a pool on the lowest floor.
I used the walking track on the top
Floor and enjoyed the workout. The track is a bit odd, with a curved entry (feels almost like a bicycle track), but does the job.
Can be tricky to park. Seems that meters are free before 8am, but after that most available parking has to be paid for (unfortunately).

Visiting from out of town and wanted to squeeze in a workout. The Central Parkway team was great and offered a free guest pass for first time Y visitors.
A good gym with plenty of equipment and dumbbells that go up to 100lbs. Very clean and updated, too.
Looks like theyβre about to get a slew of new Hammer Strength machines, too, so this place is going to get a big upgrade!

Good location except for the fact that they are completely incapable of communicating when the pool is closed. The amplo alerts app goes unused, email goes unused. Iβve shown up to swim only to find out the pool is closed more than a dozen times this year alone. Unacceptably poor communication.

The lap swimming here is constantly fully booked and no one ever shows up making it difficult to plan a workout around. When entering the pool during a fully booked time (which no one showed up for btw), the lifeguard refused to let me swim and said that they'll have security kick me out if I enter the pool without a reservation. Its a shame that this location is muddled by poor management

Terribly managed. I joined in Decmeber and quit in January. Since then I've been charged every month. I've called dozens of times unable to get ahold of management. I'm not sure what to do but do NOT go to this gym unless you want to pay in perpetuity.

Trash! No Christlike character here! I told them that I am homeless so that I could get a free membership and shower here, and the person who answered the phone blew me off! I guess I am forced to pay for a gym membership elsewhere! Thanks (sarcastically) for adding to my problem!!!

Update: There are so many broken machines on the main cardio floor that it's become unreasonable. Out of the 6 treadmills on the right, 3 have issues where they won't start at all or the screen on the machine is glitching out and flashing so it's not useable either. Membership dues here are high... why don't they fix and maintain the equipment???
The night front desk workers keep locking the front door *significantly* before the actual closing time. Like they close at 8:30 pm during the week, and the door is often already locked at 8 pm!
This facility already has *extremely limited* hours in the evening and night. It's a real PITA to show up for your workout during business hours and find the door locked, and then *see* the night front desk worker just sit there ignoring you trying to get again, because someone wants to get off work early or whatever.
Please keep the hours that you advertise and stop locking the door before you're actually closed! This is very maddening as a paying member to not be able to use the membership during normal hours just because some front desk worker is cutting corners trying to get off early! Management please address this recurring problem!

I visit the YMCA every Saturday morning for my workout routine, and I must say, itβs been a delightful experience. Ana, Mouhamed, and lifeguard Gracyn are always friendly and helpful. Gracyn saved my day when I didnβt know about the pool reservation rule. The energetic atmosphere at the YMCA sets a positive tone for my weekends. I have been a member for 6 years and am disappointed by the direction the Y seems to be going. The staff is friendly and I love the friendships I've made with other patrons. However, the changes made recently do not reflect what members want. Taking away the studio area that was consistently FULL of people and leaving them with no available areas to work out (upstairs studios have classes in the morning and evening and are not accessible) to put in a child care area is very upsetting to the large amounts of people that used that space. I wish the y staff would have come taken into account the current member demographic, rather than make changes to try to attract new members. This location is in OTR, people are not bringing their kids with them to work out here. Additionally, something is ALWAYS broken here. From incomplete weight sets, broken saunas, staff being late to open in the morning, thermostat set to 80 in the cardio area, broken coffee machines, and homeless sleeping in the locker rooms, there is always an issue. Membership goes up every year, but I feel we are getting less and paying more. If there were another gym in this area I would have switched.

One of the nicest cleanest and well-run YMCAs I've ever visited. Great equipment and excellent classes with a basketball and top of the line weight room. My only complaint is the street parking. Since there's no included parking you have to pay for parking with each workout. However it's certainly worth it, and I'd highly recommend this Y

I really like this location- probably my favorite out of all of them. But you guys REALLY need a parking lot, even if it's just for members. I drove all the way there for a fitness class and realized I didn't bring my wallet. (I got ready in a hurry and honestly, who thinks to bring a wallet to a fitness class). It was early, and my half asleep mind had forgotten all about the parking situation. I had my phone but there is no way to use Apple Pay for a parking lot. Super frustrating because at that point, I just had to go home and miss the class. All the other YMCA locations have their own parking lots. Other than that, very clean facility with nice equipment.

Firstly, the staff that I met: Courtney (reception) and Stan (pool) are excellent in their roles. Warm, welcoming and efficient. Very professional.
The facilities are above average, with plenty of up-to-date equipment, free weights and immaculately clean training spaces. Sanitizing spray bottles and paper toweling are everywhere, within reach of most machines. The mens locker room was also spacious. The 25yard, 81Β°F saline lap pool felt like swimming in the South Pacific on a calm day.
Located about a 15min walk from the Ohio River Banks area and downtown Cincinnati. I'll definitely return here for future workouts.

Horrible billing experience. I had a credit card stolen I had to cancel. I called to update my payment information and the employee I said I had to come in to do it. I ask the front desk attendant when I arrive to update my payment and they told me they were busy and to come back later. Then my inactive credit card gets charged and they apply a $20 returned payment fee. And come to find out I could actually update my payment information online. Their employees are continuously misinformed and have a lack of knowledge. I was also told that when my membership was suspended during Coronavirus that Iβd be notified when it was activated again. The notification didnβt occur and I was automatically being charged again. You canβt trust anything the employees say and this YMCA is way too overpriced to begin with. They wonβt even open up the basketball courts. Iβm getting little to no value from this place

I used to go to this gym on a regular basis. The gym itself is great. Plenty of free weights, assisted machines, a cardio section, lots of fun group exercise classes. The staff is always friendly and super upbeat! The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star review... little to no convenient parking! The gym used to have access to the lot across the street but that changed about 1 year ago. There are plenty of pay to park lots around the gym, but who wants to pay to park every time they go to the gym? I would recommend this gym to anyone living downtown within walking or riding distance.

There's a lot to like about the YMCA and there's also a lot to like about this facility in particular. The biggest part of it is the restorative work that's been done on an old iconic building. It doesn't look like a traditional gym, the people that designed the place struck a nice balance of creating a classic modern vibe while also putting in an abundance of first rate exercise machines. The lengthy cardio, stretching, low impact, and exercise machine room near the entrance faces Central Parkway, offering stellar views, while also separating you from the city.
There's also a nice and under utilized lounge area with nice leather seating. A good place to do a bit of work or to make some end of the day phone calls.
The Y offers an exceptional value. If it weren't a non-profit memberships would likely be around $100, so it's also a gym for everyone. That's the good part.
Now, the other part. Although, they have their own connected parking lot they don't offer a membership which includes parking. The cost of parking is $5 for a couple of hours. If you're going in three or four days a week, well, its no longer a stellar value. The place is largely unsupervised. The men's locker room, the sauna and steam room needs to be upgraded. Important services, that could increase their revenue, like massage therapy and personal training aren't really featured.
The place closes at 9P! The place closes at 9P on week days. Nobody should be rushing to the gym after getting out of work at 6Por 6:30. Open at 6A and stay open until 10P. Members should be able to enjoy their membership.
