Not the typical gym. Ryan and the staff are very attentive to each client's individual needs. They provide 1 on 1 personal training with a strong emphasis on slow, controlled movements utilizing lighter weight and proper form. The workouts are challenging and very effective. They have both male and female trainers and there is never any sense of judgement at all on the gym. Very welcoming environment.

I have been working out with Heath at Cleveland Biomechanics for the past eighteen months.The workouts are endlessly challenging and innovative.They are tailored for whatever your specific functional issues may be. My results have been remarkable. I have been able to stop all medications for joint pain. I am significantly more toned and have decreased at least two clothing sizes. Importantly, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. without ANY intimidation sometimes felt in other gyms. Last thing I want to mention- this is the cleanest gym I have ever been in. Clean like your own home clean.
I could not recommend Cleveland Biomechanics and Heath more highly.

I feel like i was in such a weird place in my life when I reached out to the team at Cleveland Biomechanics. Joining and starting my training with Heath changed my life and the way I think about everything. It took some time but i was able to open up more personally while also learning to listen to my body a lot more.
Within the year of working with Heath I was noticing basic things in my life improving, things like just walking. I never paid attention to the muscles I engaged while walking down the street.
Heath and Chad strive to not only make the gym comfortable but they made an engaging and safe community for all members.
Now that I have moved and I’m unable to go to Cleveland Biomechanics, I have never felt more appreciative of all that i have learned and everyone I’ve met.

I really love working my trainer, I woke up today feeling a very nice healthy soreness in my lower back thanks to the workouts we did, that’s how I know we’re doing it right! To add to that, I came into the exercises after a practically sleepless night of a lot of work, so I was really feeling tired already, but thanks for the exercises, I left the gym feeling rejuvenated! Wow. I received way more than I ever anticipated when I joined Cleveland Biomechanics. They are thorough, professional and considerate. Not only did my body change, but the unexpected effect on my mind changed my life as well.
I was informed that I might uncover some trapped emotions as we opened up muscle tissue that had been bottled up for so long. I didn’t think too much of it to be honest. When I did have that experience, it led to mental clarity which enabled me to make some much needed changes in my life.
I am now unbelievably confident in my own skin and for the first time I can honestly say I am living an active lifestyle instead of just “working out” almost a year later. I also do yoga and roller skate - at age 53! I feel amazing inside and out - for the first time in my life!

I absolutely love training at Cleveland Biomechanics! I started training with Heath about 2 months ago. Heath is Awesome! He has helped me in so many ways. He has made feel comfortable coming here. The Team at The Bar Athletics provides an unparalleled experience. I couldn't be any happier as a client. Heath and his team have by far, gone above and beyond in helping me overcome injuries that I assumed were part of getting old. As a 41 year old that lived life on the road, eating poorly and working heavy physical jobs, I found myself riddled with injuries. Within a few months of personal training I completely eliminated a shoulder injury I had for years, back pain that dwelled daily since my 20's. I've built up muscles I never knew existed and had a lot of fun during the process. In my 9 months doing personal training, I've found great value in Heath's expertise custom tailoring a program for my skill level and constantly evolving as they learn new methods. I started at The Bar Athletics 3 months ago with the intentions on getting healthier and stronger. Heath is my personal trainer and has made me feel comfortable and he strongly encourages me during our sessions. The goal of my training is to learn how to integrate all of my different muscles to work together as one. This gives me the knowledge on how to efficiently and safely exercise. This requires patience and hard work which is exactly what Heath promotes. I love my experience at the gym. My coach and staff are amazing individuals. They are very knowledgeable and gear the training to your specific needs. My goal as a 65 year old woman is strengthening, stability and overall firming. I am accomplishing all these goals. I have never felt better in my life. The gym is large and very clean. I recommend this training experience for all ages. Any type of training you are looking for is available. Honestly can't say enough great things about The Bar Athletics. The Coaches are amazing and really listen to what your goals are and will go above and beyond to help you achieve them. They have a caring and compassionate nature about them as well.
I always dread walking in to a "Gym" and feeling intimidated, which is a big reason that I stayed out of them. However, The Bar is totally not like that. All the members are friendly and encouraging you to push through.

The Bar Athletics is a phenomenal training center that provides many avenues of benefit for any person. I began personal training last summer with Ryan. I had total replacement of both hips in 2020 and was looking to strengthen the muscles that support those joints. The training I am receiving is improving my posture, strengthening my core, drastically reducing the number of headaches I have and equalizing how I use my hips. I have been going to The Bar Athletics for almost two years now. I've gotten stronger, addressed some nagging injuries, and have successfully completed my racing goals so far. Coach Heath explains each movement so well and knows when to push me to reach a little further. At 50, I'm fitter than I've ever been. My husband and I decided to join The Bar Athletics team approximately 1 year ago with the goal of improving our running performance. So the first meeting with coach Heath was amazing, he welcomed us and we had a nice chat where he explained so patiently all the programs they offer and also allowed us to get to know each other better and know exactly what our goals were.
We had 3 sessions of private classes with coach/doctor Sara and Brian, both very knowledgeable professionals, to explain the movements and prepare us for the group classes, as that was our intention.
The group classes are amazing and fun. I can say that we really improved our running performance and health because of these classes. I want to give special thanks to coach Kyle and Health who always teach us, correct us and cheer us up.
The Bar Athletics offers lots of equipments, a large space, varied of classes, access to videos with tips on the week's exercises and health, it also offers InBody scan to help us achieve our goal. It is an extremely clean and well structured place.
I have never regretted joining this family that I call my second home and I recommend this place to everyone of all ages and fitness levels.

I can’t say enough about the amazing team at the Bar, they have encouraged me from day one. I’m 57 and fell off my workout routine after tearing my rotator cuff, about a year ago. With the coaches help in showing me the proper form and specific stretches and modifications with each workout I can say that I am getting stronger each day and was named athlete of the month!!! 💪🏽😁.
I also have to give a big shout out to Meredith, I attended her 6 week nutrition program and learn so much about different habit setting goals. She is so knowledgeable and kind.

After my consultation, I was paired with a PT that would best suit me. So far, it’s the best experience I’ve had with a gym. The community and environment overall is very welcoming. The PT is extremely knowledgeable and encouraging! He understands my limits but also knows when to push me a little more. The training has been very beneficial for me as I have learned so many new movements and just have a better mood overall. It’s been the best start to my day to say the least. Even if you’re starting from ground 0, there is no pressure to do anything other than what you’re able to do and just learn as you go. Having PTs that are veterans is a huge plus for me since they know what is expected of me in the service and just how technical some movements need to be.

I’ve been a member of the Bar nonstop for three years. It’s a welcoming facility with a well-trained and friendly staff, and overall positive atmosphere.
Although I’ve been a fitness nerd all my life, I’ve still learned a lot during my membership—new things to do and better ways to do things I’ve always done. The staff’s expertise includes gymnastics, weight training/olympic lifting, bodybuilding, functional fitness (Crossfit), OCR, strongman … and I’m probably missing some areas.
Ownership is always looking to expand the value of the membership. There are multiple program options (which have evolved since I joined), personal training, new and updated equipment, and new services. They recently added an In-Body body comp scanner and are using it to help members set more informed health and fitness goals. It’s all very scaleable, so whether you’re experienced or new to it, you can feel quite welcome. Just come in the door wanting to get better, and I think you’ll feel at home.
I have a fairly well-stocked home gym (which I do use regularly), in addition to a Y membership. But the Bar offers benefits I can’t get at either place. And that’s why I keep coming back.

After a long period of inactivity I had knew I need to get back in to gym I was pushing over 270 the heaviest I have ever been and was only getting worse. I joined the the Bar on my first class it was a struggle to get thru the class the people around me were positive and the coach mike kept with me helping me thru the first class after two weeks of doing both BURN and the FHIIT CAMP classes. I could now make it thru a hole class with out having to skip exercises. I'm now down to 250 and have noticibly slimmed down from being tight in a size 40 jeans to have space in a size 38. All the coaches are there to help you and the people in the classes bring a very positive attitude that makes going to classes fun.

I'm a regular drop in at The Bar Athletics :) I've been a drop in for years now when I return to my hometown area to visit. Typically, I drop in for Power Hour (formerly CrossFit) but this past weekend, I decided to give the new BURN class a try - and I am SO GLAD that I did! Only a 30 minute class and I left having had a GREAT workout, sweating like crazy, and feeling great for the day ahead! The class is based around the Concept 2 Rower - a great idea and piece of equipment for ALL levels. The rower is difficult and challenging, but also is great for all level and ages - as a non-impact piece of cardio equipment, everyone can get a great workout! Our described "workout" at the BURN class last weekend was a 20 minute workout of sprint intervals - a real challenge, but I think all of us left feeling good and having enjoyed the workout. If you are looking to start working out or just need a change of pace, PLEASE give BURN a try - you won't regret it!

I've been a member of The Bar Athletics for about a year now. I had the same workout routine for years and hit a plateau I couldn't get around. In less than a year I am in some of the best shape of my adult life after joining The Bar. All of the coaches are so good at pushing you to your limits and understanding your limits. I needed that push and at times I needed to know "how to push" and they are so good at putting you where you need to be. I am a big fan. -Kevin Cichon

I have attended a fair share of boutique/specialty classes and The Bar Athletics is my top choice of places to workout. The coaches take time to get to know you, offer guidance to ensure you are reaching your fitness goals while minimizing risk of injury, and keep the workouts interesting. There are a variety of classes that even someone who hates "formal exercise" can enjoy. As a physical therapist, I have selected many of the techniques and exercises that I have learned here and implemented them with my patients, as the workouts build amazing functional strength that carry over to day to day activities. If you are in a rut with your workouts or looking to try something new, I highly recommend the Bar Athletics.

I joined Bar Athletics one month ago today. I’d been at another gym but never saw much results. The staff at Bar are incredible. As someone who is naturally very shy, and slightly self conscious, I’ve never felt like people were staring at me. Whatever you have a question on, they can answer it.
They’ve taught me many fitness trchniques and are very patient. The fun atmosphere, amazing and uplifting members make you feel comfortable. It’s the true “no judgement zone.”

SO much more than what I originally came for.
Like many people, I had danced around the idea of joining a gym for quite some time. I had joined other gyms in the past on trial basis when they had specials, and had even joined a couple of times with friends as a way to keep each other motivated
I needed to do this for me this time
I had spoken to some friends and colleagues that were doing CrossFit and asked them for some feedback, and it seemed like a good fit.
I originally visited once on a Satruday, and postponed joining, and finally quit thinking and decided to go ahead
My goals we to begin to live healthier, lower my overall body fat percentage, and to bulk up in where needed to look well proportioned and fit
After about 3-4 months, I had cut my body fat percentage by around 7% and had shed about 18 lbs. The progress there really took off when I had Coach Meredith put a meal plan together for me
ALL of the coaches want to see you succeed at whatever goals you have and they will also have you stop immediately if you are not doing something correctly. They will INSIST that you are safe in all of the movements
The progress is great and the original reason I joined, but what I got in addition was beyond anything I would have expected
The community here is incredible. The friendships and relationships that I have developed with some of the other members has been great.
I am beyond grateful for the personal growth that I have experienced in my time here, and my levels of inner peace have never been higher. Exercise (especially running and jumping rope) were never anything that I particularly enjoyed in the past, but I have come to a place in my life where I know that I need to go at least 3 times per week. 5 is preferred though, and whatever workout they have set up for us is fine. I know that it's going to be effective
I know that doing the work is what helped me get to this place now, and I know that I will continue to discover new things about myself throughout my journey
Thanks to Heath, CJ, Kyle, Meredith, Brian, Chad, Mike, Scott, Josh and all the other coaches that have pushed me and thanks to the rest of the members that have either directly or indirectly pushed me and made me better
