I have been coming to this gym for the past 5 months. The staff has been great I do want to announce that I notice more so when Edwin is working the place is much cleaner. Come Saturdays and Sundays when Edwin is not working the place seems to have a funny smell. The paper towels are never stocked, but when he is working the place genuinely smells cleaner. He also likes to associate with the members makes people laugh and also motivates them. The gym needs more staff like Edwin.

If you're going to sign up for a membership at this place, just beware and proceed with caution!! I went there to get a day pass just to see if I would like this gym. THEY DON'T OFFER DAY PASSES!?! You can only get a month or a year membership. How will you know if you will like this place if you can't try it out first? I've been to a lot of gyms and each one of them offer day passes. So, from the looks of their other 1 star reviews, I didn't miss much!

Bravo to Ian! What a positive transformation he has made to this gym. Ian has the place so clean and organized, I’m so impressed with the hard work and tireless hours he has put forth. Proof positive to what one man can do! I hope his perseverance is appreciated and honored by the owners, they got a good one!

Went and took a tour of the place before and after they said they made changes to cleaning it. Still one of the dirtiest gyms I have been to. When this was the OMNI, it was one of the nicer and cleaner gyms in the area. Since this other management has taken over it's has went way down hill. When you add on the predatory membership practices they employ to make it difficult to cancel. I would ignore the pictures they doctor up to make it look good and take a hard pass

Really, comfortable environment. They have lots of space and equipment. Very clean. Many improvements made recently. There is no other gym with the amount of equipment this place has it is the biggest club in this area, and it’s all available because the place is so big you can always find something available!

Extremely rude front desk worker, Mike, would not tell me when my yearly renewal would be billed. Memberships are either yearly or monthly. If you get the monthly you are locked in for the full year. It's very expensive for old, dirty equipment and no option to bring a guest. It's sad because the place is huge and has so much potential.

I just got a free membership through one of their promotions and I’ve been there for 2 days and I really like it. The reason I’m leaving a 3 star review is because I like gyms that are fairly clean. It seems like everything I touch there has a layer of grime, rust, or dirt lingering.

Some gyms prioritize being clean by hiring good cleaners that keep everything nice and fresh. This gym isn’t one of them. This is my only complaint but everything else is really nice in my opinion. Don’t take this review as all negative.

I have noticed a few reviews concerning the cleanliness issue. I suggest that you give this place another look, its improving exponentially. They have really stepped it up its much cleaner now !! Also, this remains, in my opinion, the best facility in our metropolitan area. The club is huge, never a wait for a piece of equipment. They have at least four lines of fitness machines, no other gym comes close. No surprise "club improvement fees" or any other non-sense. You pay the fee that's stated plain and simple. This is a great club, and no I don't work there. I'm just a member who loves this place. I've been coming here for many years, I've looked at other gyms none of them come close.

UPDATE 4/1/25: Do not be fooled by the latest super positive reviews... none of the issues that members have mentioned in the low-rated reviews have been addressed by management. Management is not active in the gym, making the account management (cancelling membership) process incredibly frustrating. They auto-cycle you into a new contract without any notification or signature from you. Members are not given a copy of the paperwork when signing up initially either. Also, the cleanliness issue alone should make you want to run in the opposite direction.

——
This gym has gone downhill, especially on weekends. There’s little to no staff presence—no greetings, no assistance, and phones ringing unanswered. When staff are there, they’re on their personal devices.

The biggest issue is the overwhelming presence of outside volleyball teams. They take over the basketball courts, leaving paying members with no space to play. The players are often rude, waiting for members to scan them in, and their stray volleyballs make the gym unsafe—I was hit while on a cardio machine, and I saw someone get hit using the assisted pull-up machine on the basement floor (mind you, the court is on the 2nd floor- two floors above)

To make matters worse, many young volleyball players wear extremely revealing shorts, which is inappropriate given the gym’s primarily adult membership.

It’s clear the gym prioritizes revenue from team rentals over its paying members. It makes it hard to love this gym as I once did. If things don’t change, I wouldn’t be surprised if many members start leaving.

This Gym is amazingly huge and has something for everyone! It's so nice to work out knowing there will always be something open or a machine available! This facility feels one pool shy of being a rec center with all the amenities they offer! Most importantly being a female who prefers to work out before going to work in the morning I need a gym with a good locker room. This gym has a actual clean spacious locker room so I can get ready in the morning and save myself a trip! This gym is perfect.

No employee around again Saturday morning. Doors locked. It's really disappointing that the owner doesn't care. The place is dirty. Bathroom areas filthy. Locker room space is blocked to a very small space. No maintenance done on equipment. And that's just the start on how bad everything has gotten in a once very high standard gym

Have to say I recently joined this gym and the reviews on here about cleanliness are 100% spot on. Also, you probably don’t need to pay the membership. The last four times I went the door is propped open so anyone can get in there is no staff at the desk, they do not offer day passes so people can’t look around and try out the machines before joining, which is absolutely ridiculous. Only positive is it’s very large and not overcrowded But if you are a beginner go to a gym that can offer you some assistance in using the machines properly. Also find it odd that the only reviews the owner responds to are the positive ones.

The gym has absolutely fallen off. Nothing is ever sanitary, if you wanna use the basketball courts good luck being able too they are always rented out to volleyball. Bathroom upstairs is absolutely nasty and smells like sewer. And the showers literally have mold growing in there. Also wouldn’t be surprised if I got kicked out for writing a true review. Just would like to see things turn around here I love the place

I’ve been a regular member at Cleveland Fitness Club and usually enjoy my experience, but there have been ongoing issues that make the gym frustrating to use on a daily basis:
• Staff Absence: On one occasion, there were no staff members at the front desk, leaving phones ringing non-stop with no one available to assist members.
• Limited Basketball Access: The courts are frequently occupied by teams, preventing regular members from playing. I’ve personally seen frustrated members turned away.
• Safety Concerns: Volleyballs frequently fly into the cardio area, creating a safety hazard. I’ve seen multiple near misses while using the machines, and I witnessed another member on the bottom level get hit in the head while using the assisted pull-up machine.
• Broken Massage Chair: The massage chair has been out of order since it was installed. When it was first noticed that the remote was broken, instead of replacing it, the remote was just removed entirely, leaving members unable to use a brand-new amenity.
• Member Experience Overlooked: It often feels like outside teams are prioritized over paying members, which is disappointing for those who rely on the gym as a place to relieve stress and stay active.

I understand the need for revenue from team rentals, but there should be a better balance to ensure all members feel valued and safe. I hope the gym management takes steps to address these concerns and improve the overall experience for everyone.

Basketball courts are rented out 7 days a week to youth teams (I am not exaggerating the schedule is attached to this review). The courts themselves are also poorly maintained with ripped basketball nets and bent rims that never get fixed. Court floor is also never cleaned. Steam room has also been out of commission for weeks. Could easily give a 5 star review if these issues were fixed, but I most likely will have to cancel my $65 a month membership if I'm not able to use what I'm paying for.

★ 1

I would not recommend this gym… You can only sign up for a year, paying in full or by month to month. When you cancel if you’re on a month to month basis, you have to pay out the remaining month’s ($10 fee per month). So 2/12 months is a $100. That’s not the terrible part though, they don’t notify you or let you know when your year is up, they roll you into another cycle unannounced. They also don’t give you a copy of any paperwork when you sign up, they keep it on file, but when you ask for a copy at the desk they can’t provide it at the gym, you have to reach out to their HR department off site.. this is also true for canceling, you can’t cancel your membership at the gym.
What you’re paying overall with this gym is less traffic and various amenities that other gyms don’t have. If you’re going just to get a good workout in, it isn’t worth the price.

Read the contract before you sign
I did not read the contract when I signed but I decided to trust what the girl in the front desk said. We told her that we want to do monthly so, if we Don’t like it we can cancel and we didn’t want to be tied to a contract but she did not elaborate anything on it. She left us understand that we were right. I have used the gym only one time under this contract on the first month. I asked to cancel the membership and now I have to pay 160$ extra to cancel. This is very unethical and unprofessional.
I wish I read the contract before I signed.

Leaving this review to warn others of CFC's awful membership/cancellation system, which is so bad that it feels like a scam.
I signed up for a year, and enjoyed going but didnt use it enough to justify the $650 annual fee. My membership automatically renewed, which I should have seen coming, my fault. This is where the fun begins. You cannot cancel your membership in person or on the phone, even if you are able to reach a "manager". They direct you to a customer service email. After emailing back and forth for about a week, I was able to get my money back, but they charged me about $200 in fees. Whatever, the fees are crazy high, but not too uncommon for a gym to make money off of unfair fees. One more year goes by, and once again I see a charge on my credit card for $650! I was able to successfully reverse the charge by emailing CFC to cancel and after recieving no answer, letting my credit card company know the charge was erroneous. I am still not sure if I am off their list, so I will probably have to get a new card with a different number.
The gym itself has some nice features, but if you sign up, please pay in cash, do NOT give them your credit card number.

-1 star for zero guest pass policy. If I want to work out with my buddies they shouldn't need to spend the $60 a month I do to join me for a day or so.

-1 star for general attitude of one of the employees.

Other than that, they have some raggedy old weights in the basement that you can lift. That's all I need.

Their policies are outdated though and they're blaming covid. It's mid 2023... not a relevant excuse anymore.

The convenience of their location is the only reason I chose to go here.

I don’t see why this place has any bad reviews , it’s the best gym in northeast Ohio and the amount of equipment it’s offers is like no other. There is no wait for machines because there’s 2 more on just about every floor so that’s an upside and I’m not sure why I’m seeing anything about equipment not working when I have been going here for the past year and have never seen one thing that I might need to use not working. Owner is very rude. She wouldn't let my 7 yr old watch the basketball game that was going on, because there was a new "no kids rule" when we have been going for the past year to watch the games. I explained to her that we have been coming here but she didn't care to explain why there was a mistake or whatever the case was because I was confused why all of a sudden my daughter couldn't watch..she walked away and told one of her employees to get "us" out..They said I had to buy a membership, so I agreed and then they changed there mind and asked me to leave again!! Membership is over priced anyhow.. There are better gyms to go to with better customer service.

Also,
The Owner also has people leave fake good reviews to try to weed out the bad.

The gym isn’t bad but if you are a parent and the daycare is one of the reasons you are interested I’m telling you now it’s not worth it. The daycare is NOT RELIABLE! Best gym in town. Some say it cost too much but they have more stuff than any other gym in town. 4 floors loaded pool sauna steam room and hot tub. Indoor track and all the free weights and nautilus. Cardio machines galore. Many classes free to members
Basketball courts and roomy locker rooms. Opens at 3 am 365 days a year. You get what you pay for.

Source: Google

★ 3

The place is decent. As mentioned by other reviewers, some of the equipment can end up having issues that takes CFC weeks or longer to address.
The men’s restroom upstairs next to the tread mills, the hand soap dispenser has been broken and not dispensing hand soap for over a month. Guys go in there and do there business and can’t even wash there hands afterword. This is gross when you think that they likely get onto the machines afterword.
Another unsettling issue is when they have basketball games going on it can get so loud in the basketball courts that it becomes a major distraction trying to work out in the cardio room that is right next to the B-ball courts. It can get so loud that you can hear it over and through your headphones! A lot of the basketball guys also come into the cardio room and bounce the basketballs through the cardio room. This is also very distracting from your workout.
I was in the middle of a 30 minute, intense workout when all of a sudden the elliptical machine I was working on came to a sudden dead stop. What happened was a basketball had rolled out of the B-ball room and rolled directly under the elliptical machine as my leg was coming down with the machine which caused it to sudden stop. This is so dangerous beyond belief that this happened.

I paid my 1 yr dues November 2015 and they got Silver Sneakers in December 2015.
I asked the manager if they had any Senior Citizen refunds he said no
without a good justification.
I have had my Silver Sneaker card for 2yrs..
Now I can't use it until the end of November 2016.
This is bad business.
Good way to take advantage of a Senior Citizen.
Freedom of speech!
They don't even have any Handicap Access.
How can you advertise Silver Sneakers.
Disabled People good luck walking up those stairs,

I have been a member of CFC since it began, formerly OMNI Fitness, and I have seen many many improvements and alot of new fitness equipment there now. The staff really care about keeping the latest exercise equipment and machines, and they a variety of fitness classes available, a super daycare center, a women's fitness area, an abs room, an inside track, Olympic-sized swimming pool, sauna and hot tub and so much more... it is very much worth going there. They also have a free trial membership available too.

I have not signed up for this gym as of yet. I went in expecting to be able to utilize a free week trial, at the very least a free day pass and was told there are no free trials. That alone made me severly question this gym. then i was told that i would have to pay for half the month of march just to work on on march 30th, and 31st! i was willing to sign up and they were forcing me to pay for 2 days instead of allowing me to sign up. couldnt believe a business would turn away a paying customer for 2 workouts? rediculous.

I have been to several gyms and this was by far the best!
The girl who showed me around was really nice, everyone was very welcoming. I felt at home right away. No one stares or bothers you. They have everything i have ever heard of and it is all the newest & best equipment. They even have a workout room just for women. The start up fee was only 22. Yes $60 a month seems like a lot, but it is more than worth it.
