*Disheartening Experience at Club Pilates West Chester Location*
I recently attended classes from March until Dec of 2024 at Club Pilates West Chester Location, and I regret to say that my experience was far from positive. Due to concerning matters that continued to occur with the manager, I happily canceled my membership with this location. While I initially chose this studio for its convenient location and promising class schedule, I was deeply disappointed by the atmosphere I encountered with the manager Laura Harris. I would not expect the type of treatment I personally experienced, from anyone who's attempting to run a business.
From the moment I walked in, I felt excluded. However, I attempted to ignore that feeling because of my love for pilates. I also want to point out that the instructors who taught the classes were absolutely wonderful. They were not the reason I decided to cancel my membership at all. If they taught somewhere else, I would gladly take their classes.
However, the manager left an extremely sour taste in my mouth from her outward dismissiveness when it came to concerns such as over charging my card, canceling classes that I had already paid for, her blatant disrespect, and unprofessionalism. She seemed to favor certain members and overlooked others, creating a divide that was palpable. This behavior not only made me feel unwelcome but also raised concerns about the studio's commitment to inclusivity and respect for all clients.
Itβs disheartening to see a fitness space that should promote wellness and community instead fostering an environment of exclusion. I hope that the management will take steps to address these issues, as everyone deserves to feel safe, included even if they are another race, and supported in a fitness setting.
I believe itβs important for studios to provide diversity training and attend it if they plan to run an establishment--to actively promote a culture of acceptance. Until changes are made, I will never recommend this location to those seeking a welcoming and inclusive environment. However, I can say I have been attending a new location and the environment is so much more positive, inclusive, and welcoming. Do Better Club Pilates West Chester.

Terrible management. Extremely over priced. I would highly suggest going anywhere else. They don't care about their members, only taking your money.

I have been going a little over a month. I have never tried it until now. They are amazing. It helps with energy balance and flexibility which I need more of all three! It is worth the membership and worth getting on waitlists for classes. I have never not gotten in if I was waitlisted. I tell everyone to try it. They might enjoy it!

Some months back this happened. Terrible service by older lady at counter. I used to be a member. One day I came in, this lady in a demanding way said "what is your name?" As if I just pissed her off by being there. I advised of my name but I had already checked in. I let it go, everyone and has bad days. Although she was treating the white women with respect. On another occasion I had forgotten my socks. Asked the instructor if I could use my regular socks ,she said no. So I asked same rude older lady if I could borrow socks (because they did that). Very rudely she replied no and I had to buy them the policy changed. I advised I would just go home and come back later on for my other class. As I left and about 50 feet away this lady started screaming HELLO HELLO. I turned around and realized she was screaming at me. I said I'll be back and left. I was so angry. As an old lady if I got aggressive she would have lost that battle. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Spoke with the manager and she was focused on the policy change and simply said would check and see what happened. Didn't care I ended my membership. If I behaved like that I'd be labeled at minimum but I guess being white she could get away with it. Not to mention with this behavior at work I'd be fired.

Their "3 month sign up" is extremely misleading. They specifically explain it to you in a way that makes it seem it is only a 3 month trial, when in reality they will auto enroll you in a membership and continue to charge you until you come in to sign a cancellation form. They purposefully do not explain it to you how the contract reads in hopes to trap you into the membership. The classes were not that great and most of them are distracting as members typically talk throughout the entire class and it makes it hard to focus. I do not recommend trying their free class or signing up for a membership. If you are looking for a serious Pilates studio, look elsewhere.

Iβve been coming to the west Chester location for about 6 months and go 4-5 times per week. All instructors and staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the classes are great for all fitness levels. The owners and staff strive to continually improve the classes and member experience and it shows. Going to Pilates has become a non-negotiable for me. The practice has really changed my mindset of what fitness means, I always leave a class feeling empowered and re-energized. My body has become holistically stronger and more capable while each class also providing a mental break from everyday life. I will forever be an advocate for the practice of Pilates and I really thank the west Chester location helping me both mentally and physically.

Wow.
This studio is poorly managed.
I tried for days to cancel my membership- relocated so this location wasn't convenient anymore. My calls fell on deaf ears, my emails were ignored until they sent me the cancelation form a day after the cut off date to be charged. I was trying to get this form 10 days prior to the charge date and was ignored. Now trying to get my money back has been difficult and bad management.
Classes themselves aren't bad but not worth this headache.

Very unprofessional attitude at one of your Club Pilates, specifically West Chester Ohio. The manager Samantha Thomas charged my account for the month of June, although I made it very clear that I want to cancel my membership and submitted the cancelation form on April 28th. I will be out of town till at least the end of August and won't be able to come to classes. I asked that the transaction made on the 3rd of May to be my last transaction following the club Policy that I need to give one moth notice. However, the manager ignored my request and still charged my account for the month of June!!!!!. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional. I asked her for a refund and still she is ignoring my request and says that this is my last month. I Will Not BE ABLE TO USE THE MEMEBERSHIP AS I WILL BE OUT OF THE US.
You definitely lost a customer and I will never be back to this place!!!.
PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

They misrepresented their contract. They implied that it would be $160 for 3 months of unlimited classes. Instead, it was $160 per month for 3 months. Their verbal explanation was misleading.
Also, they have a strict cancellation fee. They will charge you. Sometimes, their calendar is incorrect and will not show you a class that you signed up for. They will still charge you for missing the class. When you bring the calendar issue to their attention, they acknowledge the problem, but still charge you for missing the class. That is ridiculous.
So far, pilates has cost $400 more than I was led to believe when I signed this 3 month contract. I will not be continuing the contract. The customer service is terrible and excess charges are ridiculous.
Read the contract very closely before signing up. Don't listen to their verbal explanations. Don't expect their customer service to help when problems come up. They will just charge you and say too bad.
