Lexis is a very passionate owner/coach at CFPC. She's always encouraging people to push that little extra, because she pays attention to everyone and is a great judge of what people are capable of doing. They always thank her at the end because they are so proud of pushing forward and accomplishing something they didn't think they could do. She also has great ideas for alternatives, so you still feel a part of the group for that day and not off on your own.

Sal did a great job. The kettlebell technique Sal covered was very helpful. It helped eliminate the kettlebell from smashing into your forearm when you snapped up into your clean. The scaling options for the pull-up was also good to know. The inverted rows were just right for what I needed.

I enjoyed how Sarah was encouraging in a gentle enough way I didn't feel guilty and yet she also made me feel like I could give myself the push I needed to do my best. I didn't realize I could do so much. I love how inclusive the class is despite my physical disabilities, I didn't feel out of place or less than anyone else. If only more gyms could help those handicapped to be able to exercise as fitness is important no matter if you have mobility issues or are fine with the standard way of doing things. I'll definitely be looking forward to going again and practicing what I learned at home!

After slacking off for a few weeks, I walked into class today feeling a little out of place, but Stella welcomed me back with nothing but support and zero judgment.

What I really appreciate about Stella is the welcoming culture she creates. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or brand new to CrossFit, she makes everyone feel like they belong. She takes the time to explain each movement clearly and thoroughly, which makes a huge difference, especially for those who are like me, and are still building confidence or learning proper form.

Listen up fitness folks! If you're looking for a gym that feels more like a second family (minus the awkward holiday dinners), CrossFit Port Clinton is your spot. I came here thinking I'd just get a workout, but what I got instead was a community that cheers louder for your first pull-up than most people do at the Super Bowl.
First things first – let's talk about Sal and the coaching dream team. Sal isn't just a coach; he's like that wise fitness guru who somehow knows you have more reps in you even when your arms are saying "nope, we're done here!" His attention to detail is incredible, and he has this magical ability to explain complex movements in a way that even my uncoordinated self can understand. The other day, he spent 15 minutes helping me perfect my snatch technique, and now I'm moving like a slightly less graceful Olympic athlete (baby steps, right?).
The community here is something special. Where else can you find people who willingly wake up at 5 AM to suffer through burpees together and somehow still smile about it? We've got everyone from former couch potatoes (like yours truly) to seasoned athletes, and everyone supports each other like we're all going for gold at the Games. There's no ego here – just a bunch of people trying to become better versions of themselves while occasionally questioning their life choices during particularly brutal WODs.
The programming is thoughtful and challenging, but scalable to any fitness level. Trust me, I started out thinking a clean and jerk was some kind of fancy car wash, and now I'm throwing weights around like I actually know what I'm doing. The coaches make sure every movement is safe and properly scaled, so you never feel out of your depth.
And can we talk about the celebrations? PR board updates here are treated with the same enthusiasm as winning the lottery. I've seen people get more high-fives for their first rope climb than most people get in their lifetime. It's this kind of supportive atmosphere that keeps you coming back, even when your muscles are plotting a revolt.
The facility itself is well-maintained and has all the equipment you need to torture yourself – I mean, improve yourself. From rigs to rowers, everything is clean and well-organized. Though fair warning: the assault bike still remains undefeated and shows no mercy to anyone.
Bottom line: if you're looking for a place where the coaches (especially Sal) invest in your success, the community becomes your second family, and fitness goals become reality, CrossFit Port Clinton is your spot. Just be prepared for your vocabulary to include a lot more CrossFit lingo and your camera roll to be filled with PR videos.
Pro tip: Join the 6 AM class if you want to witness the most energetic people on earth somehow functioning before sunrise. It's both inspiring and slightly suspicious – I'm pretty sure they're all secretly powered by something stronger than pre-workout.
Fun fact: You'll start measuring life events by CrossFit benchmarks. "Oh, that happened right after I got my first double-under!" becomes a totally normal way to mark time.
Would I recommend CrossFit Port Clinton? Absolutely. My only regret is not joining sooner. Now excuse me while I go ice my everything – those overhead squat snatches today were no joke!

I love coming to the 10a class with coach Kristin! She is patient with instructions and demonstrates how to complete the movement or modifications. Kristin teaches me ways to improve my form, which reduces the chance of injury. She creates a welcoming environment for people at all fitness levels.

Crossfit has been a life changing experience for me. I used to be an extremely busy athlete growing up, as the years have gone by, working out during the day became a hard task to find the time and motivation. I am usually a 5/6am attendee at crossfit since this works best with my work schedule. Starting the day off with a workout makes you more motivated and awake the rest of the day. I have now learned to prioritize my classes along with getting enough sleep and rest when I can. Crossfit has given me a community of friends who all have the same types of goals, to be a better, motivated, self fulfilled human being. They give us the tools to get there & the people around you give you the push you need to get excel. I am so thankful for the community Crossfit has welcomed me into. It was a scary jump but I have no regrets and can’t wait to continue this health journey with my friends at Crossfit.
