I joined this gym with a one-dollar promotion just to try it out, and I didn’t like it at all. I did everything online, and since I didn’t like it, I tried to cancel because the membership I chose says I can cancel at any time. That is a lie. You cannot cancel at any time, because they are trying to force me to pay the annual fee for a gym I only used twice since I didn’t like it at all.
They say it’s in the agreement, but I never signed a contract where they can force people to pay for something they no longer want to use. They also want to force me to go in person to cancel. Where does it say it is mandatory to cancel in person if, by federal law, I should be able to cancel online? I’m a truck driver, and I’m away from home for months at a time. Now they call every day, twice a day, harassing me to pay.
I’ve been trying to cancel since October, but no one wants to help because they say it’s mandatory to go in person. The business model of these types of gyms is to create a lot of bureaucracy when it comes to canceling so people accumulate debt and they can scare customers with legal threats.
And this gym don't have the new federal law the name is (click to cancel) this is why gyms get lawsuits

Not joining at all. Parking lot is packed. The lockers look like they are made of particle board.

Such awful and basically nonexistent management, gym is never clean, bathrooms are always gross. Shady business practices and predatory personal trainers that never leave you alone. So overcrowded. Literally go anywhere else.

Crunch Fitness group fitness classes has a wide variety of options to help you reach your fitness goals. From Pilates, Yoga, HIIT, Cycling, Barbell 45/30 and so much more! Crunch is equipped to help you keep your summer body. They have top notch cardio equipment and weights. I love coming here because the staff and gym buddies help me to keep going! Deb jump starts my week every Monday with the heavy ride, on Tuesday Tiera gets me together with strength training in Barbell 45 and I round out the morning in Kim’s cycling class. Thursday Deb is back in with Ripped Pilates and she always fires us up on Friday in Barbell 30. Crunch is the best place in the city to workout and even relax in the R&R zone.

Great gym with friendly staff and clean equipment, but the real star is Deb. Her Spin and Pilates classes are the reason I’m here. She’s motivating, knowledgeable, and makes every workout fun. Highly recommend Crunch Toledo and especially Deb’s classes!

Literally 2/3 of the equipment is broken and doesnt get fixed for months on end. Once it finally gets fixed it'll be a week before its broken again.🙃

Update:
I found out that crunch is contracted with a massage beds company and is supposed have a regular actual massage beds like the expensive full body massage chairs not just hydro massages. So this is my way of submitting a request to have them put in or I’m going to get ahold of corporate every week until there is one forced it’s way in there. Crunch responded to my review but, bathroom floors and locker rooms are still dirty, hand sanitizer dispenser are literally empty all over the gym, like every single one and now the water fountain and water bottle station is out of order. Last week only 2 stair machines were working out of the 5 or 6. The massage beds are always covered in salty looking sweat stains that are never cleaned.
I like the gym, but it is too packed, and it is just way too hard to enjoy your workout. There are a lot of machines where there is only one of them and there should be a minimum 2-3. I’m constantly having to watch other people, waiting for them to leave and then the one second I look away it gets taken by someone new. Only reason I’m putting one star is that hopefully this message reaches someone higher up and they do something about it, I’m 1000% positive I’m not the only one tired of it.
I read others post where the owner responded and said idk what to do, how about you buy minimum 2 of every machine. And enforce more cleanliness.

Very bad
I had a 1-year membership from April 2024 to April 2025. After it ended, I stopped going and didn’t renew. Yesterday I tried to renew again, but they told me my old membership renewed automatically and now I have to pay from April to November 2025 even though I didn’t use the gym. They also gave me a collection service number to deal with it — this doesn’t feel fair at all.

Truck driver friendly. Showers not hot but did have a shelf which is surprisingly rare at other locations, locker room very small and probably because of that it smells terrible, dirty stair stepper machine and overall not a clean feeling location and not once did I notice any employee attempting to clean. Decent location and definitely seen worse but definitely seen better

Dont get trapped! Run for the hills!
I was with LA Fitness and apparently signed a contract to be transferred to Crunch which is 20 miles from my home without notification. I was then sent a bill from Crunch in July that i owed them money. I never heard about this company until that day. I called the store. Talked to 2 staff members and asked to cancel the membership. They said they would. This was a month after LA Closed. And i thought that was that. They lied and never did. I now received another email stating that not only do i owe for the membership but i owe late fees. I called and was told i had to make the drive all the way there to cancel and then i talked to General Manager Samantha who said that i had signed a contract that said that Crunch could buy my membership, my personal information, my payment information, and force me into a membership with them without my knowledge and actual consent. And that she would cancel my membership (which she probably wont). And that she isnt responsible if my balance ends up with collections (meaning if my credit gets effected and ruined). All because a contract i signed with a whole different company that shuttered their doors and sold my contract with no notification says so. Because there is no more humanity in the world. To Samantha and Crunch its all about contracts and dollar signs. The rights, will, and consent of the owner of the contract, name, credit, and credit card dont matter as long as the fine print says so.
Im not a person that puts up reviews. First one ever. But im amazed how crunch and samantha are handling this situation. When they know i called to cancel within the 2 months i had to cancel. That i just found out about today.
Go here if you want. But just know these are the kind of people your dealing with. That can care less about you, your information, or your credit for $32.
Now ill be getting up and driving for 25 minutes there and 25 minutes back to be swindled, stolen from, and pay Crunch $32+Late fees that i was never notified about, didnt consent to, and all because Samantha says its in the fine print and it is what it is.
Ill make sure to donate another $32 to one of the homeless shelters on the way just to feel that there was some meaning to this trip im about to make. Because the 2 minutes Samantha would have needed to clear this situation werent in the fine prints.
Dont get trapped! Run for the hills!

Stopped here for a drop-in as we crossed through via 80/90. Had to take a little off route to get there but it was easy traffic.
The Crunch itself was awesome! Large space, all the equipment and clean!

DISHONEST staff and highly unethical management running this place- avoid any interaction with this gym. Who has $900 to spare on unauthorized transactions taken out of their bank account?!?!
Physical fitness is one thing, but they'll mess your financial fitness as well and when you call to sort out the situation, they say they will rectify it, then you'll see the same charges out of your account again.
Who has days of free time to chase getting their money back and fixing issues with the bank?
(They don't deserve the one star, but it wouldn't allow me to post with no stars.)

I will never, ever, ever, ever become a member to this place ever again. You have to cancel your membership 30 days before or else you have to pay for an entire month that you never intended to use. It’s small, cramped, and people congregate at the equipment and make it hard to do an actual workout. If somehow you miss a payment they won’t remind you until they’re able to charge you a late fee. The parking lot is filled with pot holes as well. Staff is (mostly) nice and they have tanning. That’s the only two things I liked. I was a member twice. The second time was a mistake.

Cancelled at LA Fitness in Toledo and somehow my information got transferred to Crunch. I called them right away to let them know that it should not have happened and that I should be refunded. It’s been months, and they still won’t refund the two memberships we had. It’s not even about the money, it’s about the fact they have my information on file and can do what they want with it when I never gave them permission, and when I bring it up they always say “I’ll let the manager know”. Really poor customer service. This review will come down when they refund me my money.

Today I was visiting using the guest pass because I came from out of town. The reviews had me skept to come for a second. I decided to give it a try anyway and wasn’t disappointed. I went at 8am and it wasn’t too crowded, the gym is larger than I expected, the sauna was a perfect temperature, and Kayla was very polite at the front desk.

Very shady and questionable practice conducted by management. Trapping people without an option to exit is not how you get business. I've been trying to cancel a 'membership' I never signed up for, for a month now and was assured the first time I spoke to someone in the beginning that I did not need to worry about it and that they took my information down and that I will receive an email from corporate soon. That did not happen and now I see charges on my credit card. I called and spoke with another representative today and they said 'that's not how this works. You have to come in to cancel a membership. You can't cancel it over the phone.'!! I live nowhere near this gym and even if I did, I shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to get them to stop taking my money without my authorization! The only solution it seems is to close my credit card because they will NOT honor my request or make it reasonable easy to get out of this trap they created. Mind you I have never been to or ever set foot in this facility! Even if I would have ever considered this gym or franchise, I would never do so in the future. How can you trust any business like this with your credit card or other personal information?!

The gym is alright it has everything you need but this one star is for the bathroom. I have been a member for 5 months, I never seen the bathrooms in a good condition! It is not something that you can skip or not see. They are toooo bad and disgusting, I try my best not to use it but you can’t control that all the time. From my own perspective, i think a place can’t be decent if it wasn’t clean, the thing is that I can’t just say the bathroom isn’t clean, it is really beyond dirty. I promise you can’t stand there for 1 minute without throwing up. I am surprised how management doesn’t see this and does nothing about it. Being clean is better than being fit or in shape!!!!

Little blonde front desk reception at 8 am on July 31 was super rude , didn’t acknowledge my existence or help me at all trying to get a membership . I did not sign up here today due to her terrible demeanor. I shall try another day . I used to work at a gym and I could never imagine making a potential member feel like that. Gym very dusty and dirty too. She could get off of her phone and do her job and clean .

The gym shouldn't be open much longer . First I was charged $15 late fee because the money wasn't in my account . Which is fine I understand , but to continue to try to come out of my account n charge me $5 extra each time if the money isn't there . So that takes your bill from 30 to almost $60 n one month. Also they general manager, The regular manager is down to the workers are VERY RUDE with the nastiest attitude. I spoke with Sam (as one of the workers told me her name was.) even though when I spoke with her the first time she said a different name. But once I called back for the name to leave my review I asked the guy on the phone which he said his name was Allen . What is the general manger name that's working right now name.. he said one moment let me grab her. I don't need you to grab her for just her name. That there was a flag because he started to stutter when he was giving me the name, Sam. ..
The manger I spoken with today 7/30/25 at 12:30 pm gave me attitude the whole time like she didn't want to help. She than began to become loud so I hung the phone up because I didn't want to have a screaming match over the phone about my money. So I'll be canceling my membership n this place needs to be closed down for good

It's a nice gym with a lot of nice people that work there. However, myself and a lot of people are getting tired of showing up at 5am when they open to see a closed gym because no one showed up to open. Happened this morning (9-26-23). This is not the first time (or 2nd or 3rd) this has happened. I don't want to cancel my membership, but 5am is the only time I have to go workout. If there isn't any reliable staff or ownership then I believe a lot of us won't have a choice
2025 Edit:
The men's locker room is always filthy, the sauna is down every other month, the toilets/urinals/showers are absolutely filthy. Equipment stays broken for weeks to months. Half of the cables are down, they finally fixed the tricep machine after months of that being down. I understand things break but to charge 60 dollars a year for maintenance fees then have minimal to no maintenance is laughable. The one thing that keeps me coming back are the frequent flyers that I talk to in the mornings.

Someone should call Corporate and have someone open a new crunch around Toledo with new owner. This place is a mess too overly crowded . Needs better equipment.. the locker room and bathroom are a mess . You don’t see employees cleaning anything like you would do at planet fitness . This places needs to be re organized from top to bottom . Also too many riff raff if this place had better management they would have better organization of the gym .. also the trainers stand around and do nothing an wanna charge people a lot of money what’s the point

The gym is fine but this is one of few locations that won’t let you cancel through the app and I had moved away so I called and asked for the best way to cancel and they said they would accept a letter mailed to them confirming cancellation. I had my family deliver the letter I wrote and signed to make sure it arrived. They still charged me the month after the letter was sent so I disputed the charge with my bank. After that I received an email for about 4 months telling me to change my payment method and I responded to those emails saying I cancelled my membership with no responses to any of those emails. After a few months the emails stopped so I figured that was their way of accepting that I was done with my membership. This was about 2 years ago. A week ago I get a call and crunch decided to send me to collections because they won’t honor their own cancellation methods. I called and told them I’m not paying and they ended up cancelling the charges, but blamed it on “improper cancellation” on my part even though the lady acknowledged on the phone that my record had the conversations about cancelling. She also tried to blame it on a “change in management” with very little accountability. terrible billing department and clearly a disorganized office. Make sure you keep an eye out if you’re trying to cancel.

I really did like the gym it’s self here more than PF but I initially wanted to be with a trainer 3x a week for 30min but the trainer wasn’t worth the prices they offered that I signed up with. Yes she showed me how todo other thing I didn’t know how todo but it wasn’t any training really before she ran off with the next person. Half the stuff I was supposed todo I couldn’t even remember it bc it was so much and so rushed .. Way to expensive & at PF the training is FREE.. idk I don’t even feel comfortable going back to the gym now & Toledo only has one location. Your better off going to a smaller gym if your looking for a trainer bc it’s not worth it here & this was my second time trying to hire a trainer from this gym the first one was a male that kept trying to text me in the middle of the night once I got home so uncomfortable..

Great gym but very pushy about things. I’m only here for the summer and needed a gym to use. But they insisted I do the crunch one kickoff, which is cool and all, but I really wasn’t interested, but felt pressured to say yes. And now it’s non-refundable, so I’ll be paying the annual fee, the monthly fee and now the kick off payment on top of that just to be there for two months. They never told me it was nonrefundable for the kickoff.

Went to sign up for a membership, but the two women at the counter were literally arguing over not wanting to take care of me and who should do it. They were extremely rude as soon as I walked in, and they saw I had kids with me. I had to stop them and let them know im just wanting a walk thru of the children's area to see if its good enough for my kids to enjoy. After I said that the girl that obviously drew the short straw between the two became a little nicer. Crazy this is how you allow employees to act (hoping there are cameras)

Warning: Be Cautious before signing up and any promotion
I signed up for a one-month trial based on an online promotion. However, when I tried to cancel, I was informed that cancellation is only allowed after three months and requires a one-month notice—none of which was clearly stated when I enrolled. For the past three months, they've been trying to charge me for their highest-tier package, which I never signed up for. When I spoken with the billing department, I was told I had to pay and that they couldn’t do anything to help.
So basically you have to join and cancel the membership same time to fall under their one month notice and there is nothing like a one moth free trial.
This feels deceptive and dishonest—please be careful before signing up.

I saw there was a $1 deal to sign up here for the month. I figured it might be a good opportunity to go back to the gym. I realized I wasn’t going to use the membership as much as I thought I was going to so I went to cancel today. I drove all the way to the gym because they wouldn’t accept it over the phone and then they told me in person I couldn’t cancel for 3 months?? I was told by the person who gave me a tour I could cancel within 7 days and I was well in the week mark. So basically, they’re lying and scamming people. Absolutely ridiculous

Cancelled my membership in February and they are still trying to bill me. Not only are they trying to bill me but it appears on the site as though they never canceled my membership when I came into the building and signed confirming it was canceled. They will not respond to my attempts to contact them via email as it suggested on the site. Not only was I forced to move from Toledo due to health issues incurred from a house I was renting in Toledo but I cannot use my membership. I had to relocate 2 hours away from the nearest crunch. Check-in history shows the past 2 months of membership was paid without me attending the gym. I have legal documentation showing I had to relocate as well. Then their manager has yet to reach out about these charges on the account. Please contact me back as I have been trying to get this resolved with no response on your end! I used to love going to thus gym but after all these issues from trying to get this resolved, I don't think I will be back as it shouldn't be so complicated to cancel a membership and not be charged for it after cancellation. Then yall tried to charge me $158 for this non cancellation of membership because your worker didn't cancel my membership properly when the membership is about $33 a month. You will not be getting any late payment fees paid so I suggest you send me the membership amount owed in an itemized list thru email with your mailing address and I will send a check. You have my email on file but won't respond to your emails sent to your info email

PARENTS STOP AND READ IMMEDIATELY!
I just left Crunch Fitness, and I will be cancelling my membership immediately. As I was leaving, I saw a young child wandering alone in the parking lot completely unsupervised. I immediately walked him back inside, and not a single staff member even noticed that a child from the daycare had gone missing. This is beyond unacceptable. This could have ended in an absolute tragedy. A child’s life was put at risk due to sheer negligence, and there is zero excuse for it. I will be calling corporate and escalating this immediately because someone needs to be held accountable. A daycare facility, or any business responsible for children, cannot afford one second of negligence and yet, this happened right in front of me. This is a major failure of responsibility, and if you are a parent who leaves your child in their care, you need to think twice.
SHUT THIS DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

Awful customer service. Still awaiting a call back from a manager, have not been contacted. Manager is never there. 1800 number on google is not correct. Edited after response. When I call you toll free number they tell me I have to go in house I've been dealing with the run around since November. It is now the middle of March. I again went to the gym yesterday and was told for the 6th time the manager is "busy". Take my name and number, they will call. So basically this is how yall "try" to scam people is by just not reaching out and not have the availability to cancel a membership. Obsurd. Its a shame 7 people at the desk not one person can help.

If you’re looking for a trainer who will not only help you reach your goals but push you beyond what you thought was possible, look no further than Trystin at Crunch Fitness in Toledo.
I’ve been working with a personal trainer for about two years, and after relocating from Florida, I continued training via FaceTime to stay on track with my goals. While I was maintaining progress, I knew I needed someone in person to challenge me in ways I hadn’t been pushing myself. That’s when I connected with Trystin—and let me tell you, he humbled me in the best way possible!
From the very first session, he reminded me of my true potential. He didn’t just guide me through a workout; he was there every step of the way, ensuring I wasn’t just going through the motions but truly pushing myself. What sets Trystin apart is his ability to educate while training—he doesn’t just tell you what to do, he makes sure you understand why you’re doing it. That level of engagement and dedication is rare in the fitness world today. Too often, trainers seem distracted, but with Trystin, you get his full, undivided attention. He is truly invested in your success.
If you’re serious about becoming the best version of yourself and want a trainer who will not only motivate you but hold you accountable and challenge you in ways you didn’t even realize you needed—Trystin is the one. I highly recommend working with him if you’re ready to unlock your full potential!

****UPDATE TO RESPONSE BELOW****
YES, your facility is busy, but it's not a good fit if I can't do my workout due to limited machines and people spending extended time on those machines when it clear says 30 min workout on the machine. You can at least have two of them so that if one person is on it for 45 mins then another one can use the other machine. I have limited mobility when it comes to certain machines. As the owner you should know which machines are popular and have two of them available. Again, i get it. Just not a good fit for me.
The last time I e-mailed you was two years ago so I'm sure you don't have that email. I left for a year because the place was gross and went downhill 6 months after I became a member, with no towels to wipe down the machines, paper towels overflowing onto the floor, one person working, the bathrooms were a mess so I stopped going hoping to come back at a later date. The cleanliness looks to have improved but the popular machine issue has not which I was hoping had improved.
This place sucks. I've been a member here for two years. It's clean, the facility itself it nice but try and get on ANY of the machines. They remodeled yes, they took out things that people used and added more weight stations for those who can bench press 500 lbs. The 30 min workout machines are ALWAYS PACKED good luck getting on them as people literally stay on them for 45 mins at a time, one machine. Have they added more of those? No, these are the machines that EVERYONE uses yet they only have one of each. I've emailed the company, they don't care, they never respond. I guess I'll go somewhere else cause the average person can't go here to get a workout because there are too many people talking and hanging out then actually working out. Get a clue and maybe spend sometime at your facility to know which machines are constantly being used cause obviously you don't know and I'm tired of it. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Terrible billing experience. Was never told upfront what the actual cost of personal training cost. Originally was billed $135 when signed up for pt Was billed $270 for 6 sessions one week later then 2 weeks later another $270. We were under the impression that $270 was for a month but then when the second card transaction came thru we knew there was an issue. We signed up at the promo rate of .25 for the first month and between all the fees we are close to $900 for 5 weeks of utilization. My fiance has only had 5 sessions of personal
Training. When I called to see what was going on I was told to email the billing department. This was not ok. I was lied to when asked to talk to management that they were busy. I had one of the managers phone numbers from calling me almost daily to schedule my kick off that I repeatedly told them I did not want to do. He answered the phone and definitely was not busy. Did not help
Resolve the issue. Only said he has 10 signatures on file for what my fiancé signed up for. No one in their right mind would agree to $270 for 6 sessions at 30 min. We filed disputes with our bank. We are also filling with the BBB as this company did not do their due diligence in explaining what we were actually getting into. This place is a scam. They are quick to take your money but when asked to help you understand why, you are given an email address. Trying to get healthy should not be this difficult.

Really thought we would like this gym . WRONG. They do a good job selling you with the whole “ tour thing” the general manager gave but equipments dirty. Girls smoking weed in the bathroom. Just wow. Locker room is tiny honestly. Sauna over packed. Almost all workout machines taken. Garbage overflowing outside the gym and inside. Locker room trash cans overflowed. Bathrooms are dirty. Clearly they have no one regularly clenaing this place and the machines. And the other reviews I’ve seen .. we definitely don’t trust giving our money here unfortunately which sucks because I do like the fact they have more versatile equipment but why spend your money here if the place is rundown, appaartnelt the staff cons you and its Overcrowded and mostly a meet fest . Place is trashy. Defiantly a Toledo gym

I really enjoy coming out here to Crunch! My absolute favorite thing to do here is the sauna, it gets my bones feeling right again!! There's tons of cardio and weight machines, a HIIT zone with tons of fun heart pumping opportunities, the sauna, hydro massage beds, tanning, and a wellness pod that features red light therapy. There's different levels to the memberships and you gotta pay more to access the full facility but I signed up during a promo month and honestly feel it's worth every bit of the $30 I'll be paying. I haven't gotten to the point that I sign up for fitness classes, but there are several different types available as well. The staff is overall friendly, (special shout-out to Jem, he's a diamond!) helpful, courteous to us gym-goers.

this gym was great at the beginning but slowly turned into a bacterial infected cesspool. Poor maintenance on the machine, they priortize the fitness class for extra pay and take up any and all free space. The bathrooms are rarely cleaned, there broken lockers everywhere. Lastly, when i attempted to cancel my membership i was told i had to come in person to cancel.... this is ridiculous .

Although this gym has comparatively versatile equipment, the staff at the Toledo location also has significant integrity issues.
First (and this was actually the final straw), I was misled about what my membership included when I joined in October 2024. Apparently, the extra $10 for the "Crunch Kick-off" was actually for a "consultation,” not the program itself. I only discovered the misinformation when I was lied to STRAIGHT TO MY FACE by one of the trainers about what he AGREED to do for me during AND after the consultation. I don't care about the actual cost of the program OR what the membership included. Just don't lie about it.
Second, when I brought the issue to the assistant manager in November, I was MORE than willing to write it off as a "miscommunication." She was generous enough to offer two free months of membership fees, which I did not ask for. However, I woke December 26th only to find that I was charged $53 for the month. (Note that nearly EVERY one star review is about being overcharged for membership fees or ongoing charges after cancelation.)
Third, if you're a female, be prepared for loud "locker room" talk ON THE GYM FLOOR from meat heads that are openly degrading women. The fact than I am a male is irrelevant, and frankly, I don't GAF about your personal views about gender. Sexist or racist behavior is outrageous regardless of who you are, and public discussion isn't the place for it when everyone is paying for a harassment-free environment. What was ESPECIALLY offensive was that staff members engaged in the member’s dialogue. So, the staff not only endorses this atmosphere, but they actually encourage it.
Finally, because the equipment is versatile, it's a busy gym. Fine. However, the staff does NOTHING to address people "using" machines who spend 20+ minutes socializing around them instead of working out....during PEAK HOURS. People have complained directly to those members AND the staff, but nothing has changed.
In short, the Toledo Crunch Fitness is as much about status as anything else. I don't give a damn about that, especially when I’m driving more than a 30 minute round trip to work out. I want to get in, do the job, and go home. If the glamour and glitter is what you want, this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay clear of this gym.
As of present, I’m out of town, but I guarantee that I’ll be in to cancel my membership the day I return from my vacation.💯

As a member of Crunch Fitness since the beginning of 2023, I felt compelled to write this review to address some pressing issues. When I first joined, I was thrilled by the gym’s culture, energy, and facilities. However, over the past few months, I’ve witnessed a drastic decline in nearly every aspect of this gym, and I feel strongly that this must be brought to your attention before it spirals further out of control.
One of the most glaring issues is the behavior of the front desk staff. When I first joined, I was greeted warmly, and the team seemed genuinely invested in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Now, that’s far from the case.Lack of Professionalism: Staff members spend more time on their phones or chatting among themselves than assisting members. Simple courtesies like a greeting or acknowledgment upon entering have disappeared.Inappropriate Conduct: During evening hours, the front desk feels more like a social gathering than a professional workspace. Staff are often seen flirting with gym-goers rather than being attentive to those who need assistance.
The state of the gym has deteriorated to an unacceptable level.Bathrooms: The bathrooms are in shambles. The floors are constantly wet, and tissue litters the floors. The odor is so unpleasant that I avoid using them altogether. Worse still, one of the toilets has been broken for months something that could have easily been addressed in a timely manner but has clearly been ignored.
Gym Floor: Equipment cleanliness has also taken a backseat. Machines often have sweat stains left behind, and cleaning supplies are rarely restocked.
Perhaps the most frustrating issue is the neglect of equipment maintenance. Machines seem to go out of order on a daily basis. For instance, one of the stair climbers has been “on rest day” for over two months, and now another one is broken. A line of treadmills has also been out of order for weeks with no sign of repair. Despite adding new equipment, there’s been a failure to maintain or repair existing machines. For those of us paying monthly dues, this is unacceptable.
These issues have escalated to the point that I question whether anyone in management is taking their role seriously. I don’t know if there has been a change in leadership or staffing, but whatever has happened, it’s clear that standards have fallen dramatically.
As paying members, we deserve better. We deserve a clean, functional gym with attentive staff and a professional environment. I urge whoever is in charge to address these problems immediately before this gym loses the loyal members who once valued it. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before the reputation of this location is completely tarnished.
I sincerely hope this review sparks a change. This gym has the potential to be a great facility, but without immediate action, it’s heading toward failure.

DON’T LET THEM SCAM YOU WITH THE CHEAP SIGNUP. They will rush you through the terms and conditions and you’ll end up being forced to pay about $200 if you don’t like it. They conveniently don’t mention this, I’d bet they get commission for doing this.

I've been coming here for a couple years. They have a good selection of cardio and weight equipment. However, you need to be very cautious, as they are owned by a national LLC and their business practices are focused on getting your money. For example, they require both a credit card and a checking account to sign up (it's possible to sign up with just a credit card, but you need to jump through some hoops). The personal training contracts are sleazy...I was talked into buying 12 prepaid personal training sessions. Went home to think about it, went back 3 days later to cancel, but the manager Alex refused to provide a refund (this is actually illegal, I eventually got the money back, but again had to jump through hoops).

Crunch Fitness
If I could give this location zero stars, I would. My family’s experience was not only unprofessional but outright discriminatory.
Here’s what happened (11/29/24): my 16-year-old son signed up online for the Black Friday sale as a teen. As required, my partner drove him to the gym to finalize the process with his parental signature. Routine ID checks followed—fair enough. But then the situation took a shocking turn: the employee, Justine, demanded to see my son’s birth certificate to prove that my white partner was his father. Yes, you read that right—a birth certificate was suddenly necessary, clearly because my son is biracial. When we questioned this absurd and humiliating requirement, the staff dismissed our concerns entirely and moved on to assist other customers. My partner understandably voiced his frustration before leaving. I then attempted to address this with a manager, thinking surely this was a misunderstanding or isolated incident. But my experience was just as appalling. I was told the manager was busy and couldn’t speak with me. When I insisted I would wait, I was brushed off again and told to “call back later.” I’ve now been waiting on hold for over 25 minutes. Is this Crunch Fitness’ standard for signing up teenagers? Or do your employees feel empowered to enforce racially biased and arbitrary policies when a parent and child don’t share the same skin tone? Im really wondering that because after SCOURING the corporation website and reading all the fine print, it doesn’t state ANYWHERE that a birth certificate would ever be required. Additionally idk what that would prove because we aren’t even on his birth certificate. I’m disgusted and disappointed. This behavior is beyond unacceptable. Crunch Fitness clearly has no regard for diversity, customer service, or basic human decency. If you’re considering joining, be warned: unless you fit their prejudiced narrative, you may not be welcomed. I know we weren’t.
Update: I hung up after 47 minutes

I never leave bad reviews, maybe my first. It was my favorite gym I had ever been to when I lived up in the Toledo area. Josh G the trainer was excellent and definitely helped me improve in many areas. When I moved 2.5 hours away and had to cancel is when things got ridiculous. Wouldn’t let me cancel because the training manager Alex said I had two weeks left of training to pay (for the upcoming lessons. $80 each sessions ; 4 sessions =$320) and I cant cancel my general membership until two weeks. I was fine with that but then I looked at the contract and then my card charges and history and I clearly paid the full duration. Showed proof to my trainer and he agreed. I didn’t have a problem with paying it but when something not true, or not right tries to happen is when I won’t let it happen. That was 4 months ago yet today I just got charged again for the monthly membership fee. They are a nightmare. Both Alex, the training manager, and the head desk manager. Never again will I ever step my foot in here, they have plenty of business but are unethical and if they think they can take advantage of you they will.

This place is a joke, men’s locker room has urine all over it constantly and they just toss a floor fan down and act like that’ll fix it. This is not a one off situation, I was a member for months and every time I went in it was terrible. Literally puddles on the floor… I brought this up the last time I was in and today I went back and nothing had been done so I decided to cancel my membership due to this. While canceling my membership I let them know why and they told me that I would be billed for another month and would have access to a place I never want to return to until end of the next month. When I asked if I could not do that I was told there was nothing they could do and I would still be charged in the next two days. I didn’t want to create a situation in the gym so I just signed my cancellation agreement and thought I would call and explain what I was dealing with but YOU CAN’T. There is no corporate to talk to, the number they give you has a recording that states they do not monitor the line… this is just a heads up to anyone checking these, I suggest finding another gym.

Ive had a membership here for a few months now. I will admit they do sketchy stuff with the membership. They have really weird time restrictions and the payment process is kind of goofy. You cant chsnge your membership for 10 days before or after. Than even after two months in a row of me chsnging it to the low plan because i dont use the sauna or tanning, they STILL are charging 41 bucks a month although im on a 10 dollar a month plan. They intentionally run your card before the date so it bounces and they can recharge u a fee for clicking a button two months ago on your account for autopay. Scammers. They just trick people into signing up than rape them of funds until people quit. Also there isnt any machines. 1 of each. Unleas u wanna work glutes theres a dozen of those. Place is garbage and any place that cant do honest, legitimate business is a snake.

I can update later but first day of 7 day free trial and already horrible gym etiquette everywhere. I will not be signing up after my free trial 💯💯
Same-day update: definitely not taking advantage of the additional six free days here. Horrible spot 💯💯💯
Poor gym etiquette here: wide open mirror and of course people HAVE to stand directly in front of someone using a very small section of it, members will sit their stuff on equipment you are using without asking if you are on it, they'll ask how long you have and then they hover around you making the rest of the workout on that machine awkward.
Day #2: don't forget to track your workout if you are in a time Crunch, zero pun intended. Came in for my second day of the 7-Day free trial, was told the day before. I'd have to sign in through an iPad but the guy at the counter didn't have me sign anything. Went to check on what time I was checked in so I could keep tracking my workout but they don't show me checking in because the guy said I didn't need to sign an iPad. Employees don't even know their job 😂
Probably won't stop at the counter on day three and waste 10 minutes in line just to do nothing and show that I didn't even come in... It's just a cut into my workout time 💯 So happy I'm not spending a penny at this place for my time here lol.
Can't workout legs on cables because the attachments are way to big for your ankles. Feet will slide right out of them 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Well let's just say the locker rooms are terrible 2 showers in the men's locker room been broken for idk how long the bathroom is never clean the shower are filthy the sauna is never cleaned they should also put floor mats down to keep the floors a little cleaner less people tracking in dirt to the showers and sauna rubber mats and runners would be highly recommended.. the bench was also taken out months ago never replaced. The could do a better job cleaning this place .. We pay 30 a month plus a maintenance fee of 50 dollar but yet can't fix the showers or the toilet that has been broken months.. I would say the owner has a tight pocket and cares less to make the members happy... A lot of attention the men's locker room could use a lot of people are getting sick of it!

My friend told me about the gym and how they had the $1 sign up for the first month. So I signed up because the gym that I usually go to was closed for maintenance and before I got charged I went there and asked them to cancel my membership. They said I need to wait 60 days and that I'm supposed to pay the annual fee. When their website shows that the membership is month to month with no commitment. I don't know why gyms are scummy by hiding that information in their agreement instead of showing it directly before you sign up (the picture attached doesn't show that information).

Been a member for a couple years. Love the space, equipment, and variety offered. That being said, some current issues with the gym:
-Inconsistent staffing. I get it, it’s an entry level job for some. Some staff do negatively target certain members.
-Member negative behavior sometimes doesn’t get addressed. It ranges from your clout chasers to those who abuse weights and sauna. Signs are posted, but staff doesn’t monitor or enforce rules.
-Locker room (at least men’s) in constant disarray. Two showers have been broken for months with no updates on when they’ll be fixed. Crunch held an open house where all men’s toilets were broken. Very embarrassing look.
-There’s a rule from owners where if the gym is closed (because of weather or outside circumstance), they cannot post it because “it’s deemed negative.”This is utterly ridiculous. Members have work schedules and babysitting they have to work around. To me, this is seen as disrespectful to them in order to uphold an image.
-Social media posts stock footage of other Crunch gyms, yet passed off as if it’s the Toledo location. Faulty strategy.
I think overall some of these are out of GM’s control. It’s operated by out of town entities that do not know or care about Toledo market. Some of these issues I feel can be addressed by GM. It’s a great value, but these issues have hurt morale amongst members as of late.

I love the equipment, classes and trainers. I have noticed it is not being cleaned as much as it once had. Dirty floors, paper towels on floors. I have heard others comment on this issue lately.
