Hector and Jay are fantastic! I’ve been working with Jay for the past two months, and I’m so happy with the results. I’ve seen noticeable improvements in my body composition and an increase in my overall strength. As a runner, I’ve also seen some significant improvements in my pace and endurance as a result of my training. Jay is knowledgeable, encouraging, and customizes my workouts to meet my goals. A welcoming place to train. Hector and Jay are both great trainers. Jay is a great motivator that makes each session challenging, but rewarding. He gives you the motivation to push yourself which allows yourself to feel more confident to keep going to watch your overall body transformation. Jay’s sessions are always different; therefore, it gives motivation to show up to the next session. I’ve been with Empowering Fitness for 5 years, and with Jay for the last 6 months. He keeps me accountable and pushes me beyond what I think I’m able to do, while still taking caution on old injuries and preventing new ones.
I’m the strongest and fittest I’ve been in a long time, and I only commit to 3/30 min workouts a week. My 15 year old daughter trains with me sometimes and my son has trained with Hector and Vic. You’re in good hands with any of these guys!

If you get a chance to train with Jay I would strongly suggest you do. I’m a seasoned gym goer but learned new techniques, lifts, and strategies from my time with Jay. He was open to feedback and customized exercise to fit my goals and even physical restrictions. Jay also taught me how to push myself harder than I would have on my own. He exemplifies the word “personal” when it comes to training.

I recently started to train with Jay through Empowering Fitness after hearing positive things about his training style and watching him with other clients. In a little over a month I already notice results! He pushes hard but also focuses on form and technique. Every workout is different so I’m never bored. I had not been active in a long time and realized it was time to make some changes in my life. I was doing cardio a few times a week for 3-4 months and knew that I needed help to move on to exercises that would help improve my overall health and functionality. I joined a new gym and started working with Jay two times a week. That was a great decision. Jay listens to my goals and concerns about my limitations. He offers alternatives or modifications for exercises I’m not able to do yet, focusing on balance and strength training to help me become more functional. Jay and the rest of the Empowering Fitness Team are always friendly and encouraging - even when I’m at the gym working out on my own. Jay takes time to explain the why behind techniques and provides lots of ideas for overall wellness. An added bonus is he’s a really nice guy and I enjoy our conversations! I’m really glad I made the decision to work with Empowering Fitness.

It has been a joy to join the Empowering Fitness family! I have known Hector for a long time and finally got motivated to get back into training again. I am grateful to be working with Vick three days a week, as he has crafted a plan for me that understands where I'm at as a person and physically. The workouts are demanding, and he is great at infusing humor and wit into his motivations so that you blink and the workout is over - which is what is the sign of a great trainer and a great workout: tired, feeling the workout in your muscles and saying "wow, it's over already?!" This spring I enlisted in the Navy. I was pretty out of shape, and really needed to get my health back in order. I’ve been training with Jay for 4-5 months and it’s made a huge difference! He knows what I need, and helps me get there. If I ever move back to Columbus, I’m definitely gonna hit him up again. Our sessions are gonna make the next two months of basic training much, much easier.

Jay was a great trainer and teacher and I have nothing but kind words to say about him and empowering fitness. There is nothing I like more than someone that breaks down the workout and shows what muscles it works as well as making sure you are being pushed to do your very best.
