The AC has been broken all summer. Iβm currently canceling my membership. To cancel in person, you have to talk to a manager, but the manager in Maumee is never in. You have to go to the Holland Sylvania location and talk to their manager between 9am and 5pm. Or you can sign into your account online andβnot even kiddingβsnail mail a cancellation form to corporate. ΰ² _ΰ²

How this place has 4 stars is quite astonishing. The Esporta AC doesn't even work, and they keep saying they are going to fix it, here we are two months later still no AC. Half the equipment is either damaged or has not been cleaned in a very long time. I actually have never been to a dirtier gym than this Esporta Fitness. I've been to over 100 gyms in America and this is by far the worst gym I have visited. Im reporting them to the BBB. If I were you, I would spend my money elsewhere. There is no one else to blame besides management. If you would like some corrective criticism from a long time consultant, I'm more than happy to help your team. Otherwise, GOODLUCK with your current business model.

Called to cancel my membership and was told on the phone "You cant cancel without speaking to our operations manager who is out of town next week, OR you can MAIL a forum to our office in California" O AND the manager is out of town for a week so I need to coordinate my schedule to fit the mangers schedule so I can cancel a basic gym membership .........LOL WTH ????PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE TO SIT DOWN WITH YOUR MANAGER TO CANCEL A MEMEBRSHIP ITS A FRICKING GYM MEMBERSHIP NOT A BLOOD CONTRACT. Giving it a 3 because even though the facility and amenities are awesome, the management needs work. They will charge you a fee every month if you need to freeze your account. They advertise childcare but the childcare was never open when I wanted to go. The cardio theatre is really cool though, and place is very clean!

This place is a joke! The only reason I even have a membership here is for Monica the Zumba instructor (and formally Malcolm). Joe (somehow the operations manager?) at the front desk is a negative Nancy. Not a nice bone in his body. Constant snide comments and looks when checking in. However, let's get to the reason for this review: I've been a member since 2015 and I pay more than new members and I've never used guest privileges before. So, I called before I came and after checking my membership, the staff told me, I could bring up to 2 guests. After arrival and checking in a guest, I began my workout. About 10 minutes into the elliptical, I was pulled off the machine by an employee and informed my membership does not cover guests. So, even though I pay more and the fact that I called ahead of time, I had to cancel my existing membership, wait up to 30 days to apply for the new membership and pay $15 per guest per day. After arguing and arguing about this ridiculousness, Monte, made the needed calls and fixed the issue. Too much red tape! Monte is a good dude. Joe, not so much. And thanks Esporta for ruining my evening! I spent more time arguing than working out!

This gym is AWFUL. From the trash customer service and management, to the steamless sauna, to the workout equipment straight from the 2000s. Something that caught my eye when driving past was the ellipticals in front of the window. When you get up there, there are TV screens on each machine that blocks the view outside. The equipment is old and outdated and the staff refuse to acknowledge this. The members were very friendly and they offer classes, but after being shamed by 3 different people for simply wanting to use the 3 day pass to get a feel for this place (plus genuinely ancient workout equipment) this place gets a hard NO. Absolutely terrible employees (except one lady who helped at the front desk.) Everyone else had a genuinely terrible attitude and was delusional to the fact of better equipment being available. Like their ellipticals plug in π€£ that's how old we're talking

First off the gym has been okay for me. Staff the been fairly friendly. The issue I have is the cancelation process. I went during the week after 6 and was told the counter staff could not do it. That I had to come back 3 days later when they and appropriate staff to do it. So I basically had to come back to cancel when it is convenient for them. A convenient way to make it inconvenient so they can keep billing you. Long story short I couldn't make it back for almost a week because my work schedule only allows me to fit into their convenient schedule once a week. When I went back in I was never taken to these offices I was told I had to go to before. I sat at the counter for a minute and the worker scanned my card and said I should get an email tomorrow. Which by the way I have not received one. So who knows if it is really canceled or if it is being stalled again so they can bill me twice. Seeing how what I was told needed to happen didn't happen.
Now I am just left wondering if I have really canceled my membership.

This gym is poorly ran and the customer service is awful. They have a ridiculously difficult cancelation process for no reason. I attempted to cancel my membership by mail (which is how I was told to do it) because I could not come in between 9a-5p when a manager was present. A whole month went by and my membership was not canceled. I tried to call the gym to figure something out and the guy was extremely rude and told me I needed to take personal time off from my job to come in person and cancel my membership. They did not even have me sign anything. This easily couldβve been resolved over the phone instead of dragging it out for a month. While I was planning on renewing my membership once my work hours lessened, I now have no interest in ever being affiliated with an Esporta Fitness again.

They also don't have consistent hours of operation so it's hard for people that work full-time jobs to pin point when they can go. A lot of equipment needs to be replaced or fixed. Very poorly ran

The hours of operation ( most especially weekend hours) prior to the pandemic were asinine and not conducive to most working Americans with families.
There are 8 gym/athletic centers nearby that are open 24 hours.
It is no wonder this location is failing financially when the business model is aimed for the convenience of management . working hours are more for the unemployed portion of the population and those people Without families.
I wasted two years of membership due to hours of operation.
I would give 4 stars to the workers, 4 stars to the equipment, and 1 star to the management.
When I first joined , on my second visit....the cardio theatre room was β brokenβ for 3 weeks partly because the manager was on vacation. They donβt have an assistant?
I get that an empty or nearly empty gym for that square footage of operation is losing dollars during THAT time. But instead, up your marketing and fill the gym across a larger spectrum of hours... especially during a pandemic when you shouldnβt have a population funnel because of greater viral spread.
Aim your marketing towards healthcare professionals , parents, 2nd &3rd shift workers, and all the features that you have over the βmass marketed fluffyβ gym companies. Geez, go out into every surrounding business and market a package for their workers. Your gym has more to offer and looks better/cleaner. There is no reason not to be able to grab a client base from all the businesses in a 3 mile radius. Do things to bring lasting clientele in and you can hire more employees and management to cover those extended hours.
At least be open 5a-9p (10-11 p would be best 6 days a week)on weekends if you are not going to at least try to compete with area alternatives. Many families with kids have athletics and extracurricular activities ... so they need outside the box hours to workout for themselves.
I looked this gym up as an option that is a half of a mile from my home when I saw the new name attached... but then I saw the same β catered retailβ hours posted so I will be checking out the other options. Again.

people out throughout your open hours Anyways now that we have a pandemic . I repeat, Narrow business hours means more packed people and spread as it creates a heavy population funnel ... and it is just the nature of the industry ( panting lol)means heavy exhalation and aerosolized particulates in the air.

I think the location is well equipped and the staff good. I've used LA Fitness all over the country (from Texas to Ohio) and believe there are better options in the market place. If you change your debit card they are quick to call you to continue their revenue stream but no follow-ups when you have other issues. In Texas one attended tried to pull me off a spin bike because the desk was busy and I didn't check in. He followed me to my class .... I was astounded by the behavior and wrote to the company about it and never heard a thing. Big impersonal business that only cares to preserve their revenue. (I am no longer a customer)

I would go to another gym in the area if I was you. I was a member here for about a year pretty much because they trapped me in with the contract. The gym never got a new piece of equipment my whole time there and probably only was cleaned a handful of times within my year there. Its dirty, the locker room smells, the sauna never reaches full temperature, they only have 1 squat rack, machines break and stay broken for weeks, they dont even have a machine that fills up water bottles. Out of all the members that belong here, I personally never saw $1 go back into the gym.. I dont understand where all the membership fees go to. I could go on and on why this is a bad club. Then, i tried to cancel my membership and the staff refused to get back with me and tried making me jump through a bunch of loops to do so. Dont support this gym.Join Maxx fitness, they actually care about their members

Don't make the mistake of joining this gym. Although the outside appearance is nice. The equipment looks like it hasn't been updated for years, is quite dingy and the customer service is terrible. I recently joined but soon found better options in the area with significantly better equipment for the same price. Trying to quit is where my problems started. On trip # 1 I my wife, as part of a joint account, was told that she could not cancel the account as I needed to be present to do it. On trip #2, I was told that I could not close the account as I had to do it in person from 9-5 M thru F even though I work those hours and originally signed up in the evening. After a argument from me, I was told that my account would be canceled with a note to the manager to call me later in the week. Two weeks later, after receiving no call, I noted that my credit card was still being charged my membership fee. So trip #3 commenced to get a refund. On trip #3, I was told that I could not get a refund unless I spoke to the manager who once again is not available by phone and can only be seen during the week from 9 -5. Later this week I will be at 4 trips to simply cancel my membership. Most businesses typically try to part on good term to win back potential future business. Not the clueless folks here!

I am a member at LA Ditess in Maumee Ohio. This would be a good place to workput if they have the equipment i need but they do not. I need the exercise bike that you sit down in as opposed on, as i have back trouble on all and connot use the other bikes. They only have three here and they are always taken and i can not often complete my workout. I asked the manager about this and the possibility of getting more and the response was "what we have is ehat we have". NO WILLINGNESS TO LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER AT ALL. I will be finding another gym that actually cares about their members.

Got ripped off Of my membership monthly. I called and asked for a quote to add a membership into the account and I refused and turn it down somehow it charge me in my account for three months. I Called to ask for Reimbursement back to the accounts but it have never been handled. Could not charge people without signing the contract The associates too greedy just want people money and itβs hard to get it back. Donβt like the way they handle the business there. This is a place where you can really diversify your workout. Compared to any other gym, LA surpasses all with a great selection of equipment, classes, pool, sauna, movie cardio room, kids klub and many other amenities offered with the purchase of a membership. The staff is always patient, friendly, and upbeat. There mission is stood by strongly as they really are passionate about your fitness results. I would not choose any other gym in the country to workout at in order to achieve professional results.

I did a 5 day trial of this gym, had to meet with a sales person and discuss my intentions before he "let us work out." Gym is nothing special. There is a lot of equipment, most of the freeweights are old and some broken, but not in the good warehouse gym type way. In the people don't take care of things type of way. The freeweights area was dirty every day I went.
The sales guy will not stop calling me now more than a month later. I had to block their number.

I am a member, but I will not continue at this facility. The ladies locker room was filthy! The showers and bathrooms looked as if they had not been cleaned for days. The carpet in the workout area was dirty, and the machines had not been cleaned recently. The floor in the free weight area was torn and was unsafe. I used the pool, but only because I was assured by another member that it had been cleaned that morning. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Definitely not what I expect from LA Fitness!

Completely disappointed. I was impressed with this place when I first joined, but when you need to cancel that's when it is sketchy. I called and stated to the girl I wanted to cancel my membership. I was advised it would be taken care of over phone. I also asked if I'd be billed for the next month since I wasn't entirely too sure how close I was to the next payment date. Was told I would get a call back but didn't. Decided to not worry and expect that payment. Then the month after that next month I was hit with another payment. I called and was advised by someone else I could only come in person to cancel, and this girl had falsely documented that she had told me of the cancellation policy. All in all it fell on me even though i wasn't advised of the correct procedure when I called. Make sure you read the fine print when you sign up is basically all I got. Also if they tell you the initial and then monthly fees are all you have to expect, think again. I was even told by an employee they are not supposed to tell about an extra charge they do after a year. You're supposed to read the fine print to know that too. Fooled me even after I thought I asked the right questions. They just avoid the full answers.

I've never met disrespectful people like the manager and one of his coworkers that has a little muscle. LA Fitness, please make sure you hire the people who make you earn more money, not people who let the customers hate this gym. Additionally, the manager was making new rules that are different than LA Fitness rules. My advise to anyone who wants to get a memebrship that is way cheaper and way respectful staff plus it is 24/7, you have the best option which is Planet Fitness. It is a very long story that has happened with the manager and his spoiling muscular kidπ. Reviews through Yellew Pages, My time, Facebook and other websites have enough real reviews to show the real color of this gym.

I just wanna say what is in my heart and what I feel about the experience I have had in Maumee La Fitness, I had been working out for so long and one of my relatives came to my town for visting and I had told him to join my work out with the Week Card Pass. Unfortunately, one of the staff was yelling and screming so loud with no respectful asking us to leave by saying some bad words and so loud voice. What made me sad is that I showed a great picture about Maumee LA Fitness although that staff with a big body in the manger section had showed that the opposite is the truth.
I still love LA Fitness but that was the only not good thing and embarrassing moment.

I recently visited this gym NOT joined and I was extremely disappointed. My first initial impression of the young lady checking customers in was terrible. She was rude, disrespectful and just very nasty I felt. You would think since she was getting me checked in she would at least try to put on a happy face since I was visiting there gym but that wasn't the case. I proceeded to tell the gm and he had a issue nonchalant attitude, and told me to pass the information on to someone else...Which I understand businesses have a system as to how they run their company. But he was very nonchalant. And I'm sure the young woman did not receive any correction. Also...the equipment looks very out of date to the point of rusting. I was on a machine and did not feel safe at all. The hours are not the best prefer something that is 24 hours and the price.....no comment. I hope this helps...Customer service is so important no matter where you work and we all deal with customers that are difficult no matter the job. But a customer should never be disrespected because your having a bad day or whatever the reason is. I really hope they are able to get their staff in order.

Clean facility. Well kept. Lots of machines, free weights, swimming pool, track, and group fitness. All items are included with membership. I wasn't happy about the fees, they seem a bit high. I still joined and am happy with the gym
