It was a fine gym. Obviously mismanaged, but fine. But corporate decided to shut it down, gave a few of its employees a notice, my girlfriend found out it was her last day today. It was news to her. I only heard about it through her. Really scummy of them, I wont be supporting them in the future. Membership cancelled.

Air conditioning has been totally out of service for several months, no cooling at all. It is May 31, 2002 and temperature is 90 degrees. They offer no information on date to get it running.
Totally apathetic about their members.

Used to be a good gym. But it has really slid in quality. Multiple machines not working or dirty. Locker rooms smell like a cave - wet and moldy. Staff not as approachable as they used to be. Recently did the paperwork to cancel membership. We will see if they do actually stop billing me - as other reviews have brought attention to that.

For $10/month (plus some yearly "fees") this gym offers everything you need for cardio and weight training. Some of the equipment is old and the locker rooms are in need of both cleaning and updating, but if you want a high end gym experience and outrageous dues then LA Fitness is right across the street. There can be weights strewn about the floor at times but honestly that is what you get in any gym if the members are lazy and lack gym etiquette... it is not the staff's fault. Fitworks is just right and offers what you need to get the job done.
Update 5/13/22:
I REALLY want to keep enjoying this gym, but it is getting harder each month. HVAC has not worked in 5+ months, multiple machines have been broken for several months, equipment and locker room are filthy, weights are missing and thrown about, membership seems to have dropped A LOT, and the staff is dwindling. Location / convenience and a few familiar acquaintances are about the only reason why I have not gone elsewhere, but that may change soon. I simply cannot get over how much this gym has changed over the last few years, and covid cannot be blamed because it was packed for months after it reopened. If you are looking for basic free weights, machines, and some cardio equipment without any frills or crowd, and live close by, then I recommend this gym with reservation. Otherwise, Esporta, Kettering Rec, Planet Fitness, and Everybody Fitness are very close and provide a better atmosphere for only a little more in membership fees. Really hope to be able to update this review soon with more positive info!! C'mon, Fitworks!

The same pile of hair has been on the carpet for a week. Half the treadmills don't fully function. Fox news on half of the TVs. I have never seen anyone wipe a machine down when they are done. Trainers can claim equipment, not in use, meaning you can't use it either. The equipment is decent. We get what we pay for here. Be diligent in cleaning and do your floor work at home.

While out of country, I received a message that my annual membership was up and the monthly payment would be charged. Despite telling them I was out of the country, I was told it was 'their policy' and i had to come in person to cancel. When I got back home I went in and the paperwork was basically the signup paperwork with survey questions included. They ended up charging me those two months as well as the $41. Absolutely the WORST customer service! Trust these reviews and find another gym.

Unclean bathrooms, sinks dirty, no toilet paper. Stuff laying around on floorβ¦ workers just see it and move on not even trying to upkeep. I am looking for another gym especially in this time of pandemic. If I had pics I would post but I didnβt capture.

I never used my gym and when I went to cancel it on 2/29 they said they need 30days notice and would charge me again on 3/13 for another month of use to end on 4/13. All they care about is your money and not the service they offer. Worst gym membership I have ever had!!!!!!!!

Not that this place cares whatsoever as I'm reading very similar reviews to the issue I'm having with cancelling my membership, but seriously find somewhere better to to if you're reading this and thinking about joining this gym. Weights were always strewn about (if you can even find any) and the staff cared very little along with broken machines that were never fixed etc. I had to move across the country for work with very little notice and have been fighting them cancelling my membership for months. It is well over my initial year and should not be this difficult. I'm given the run around over the phone and told to email the manager with no response after multiple calls and emails and continue to get charged month after month, PLUS they just charged me for another years worth of fees. I'm literally going to have to close my bank account and open another one so they stop charging me as I've done my absolute best to cancel the right way. They do not care about customer service or being honest, they just want money and I'm done giving them mine.

Dishonest staff, Ridiculous contracts and inconsistent software.
Personal trainer was given verbal notification of cancellation due to us moving. Trainer said that was fine, and that was the end of the conversation. Trainer did not give any indication of a required written cancellation.
6 months later, the gym is still charging us. We log into their online system which says our policy is non-renewable. We call and get notified we have to cancel in person 30 days in advanced.
While in person, the worker refused to provide us contract forms (to check for auto renewal and verbal notification). The worker also refused to look up personal trainer credits (6 months of non-spent credits).
When businesses have to result to such shady tactics, you know their service/product is subpar. Save yourself the hassle, go somewhere better.

Machines are in poor shape and the facility is not very clean. After one year it took several steps and loopholes to cancel my membership. They said it was cancelled but I was charged the following month. I had to dispute and block their service since they never followed up or completed the cancellation. Never going back again.

When I was at this gym, a developmentally delayed man fell and was laying on the floor 15 feet from the front desk. The owner and the manager were standing at the desk, they saw the incident and they did not move a muscle to help this man. He laid on the floor for at least half a minute before I had to stop my treadmill to go help him up. Honestly says a lot about this gym's ownership.

The gym is okay - a good majority of the treadmills donβt work. One day I had to move 5 times because all five werenβt working.
The worst part is that they deal with ASF payment solutions for their billing and they are the ABSOLUTE WORST. Messed up my payment for SIX MONTHS and charged me late fees each months because they couldnβt figure out how to bill properly. It was the worst experience. One day I had to spend (and Iβm not exaggerating) 5 HOURS on the phone with them while the called me βsweetieβ in a condescending tone.
I wouldnβt join this gym solely because they work with ASF payment solutions.

This place is terrible... Also if you try to cancel they will continue to take your money! 6 months after I left they were still taking money out of my Bancorp I kept calling and complaining asking for it to stop they credited my account one payment. So basically they decided to keep the five months they stole. Iβll find out soon if they take out another payment. Iβll be going in demanding my money back !!!

Great place to workout. Super friendly and helpful staff. Brett, Jimmy and Houston are some of the excellent and knowledgeable trainers who help keep you motivated to keep coming back. They offer an excellent varierty of classes from Yoga, zumba, X2, spin classes etc. If you want to watch a movie while you do some cardio they even offer a cardio theater with new and old movie mixes For parents they even have an awesome play area for the kids.

I showed up at 830am to sign up. I was told I couldn't join until 9am when a manager was there. I contacted the gm who said it wasnt worth the time to sign people up before 9am and after 11pm and the desk employee in between wasnt trained to do so. He said he'd been there 13 years and knew what he was doing. I would encourage everyone to steer clear of this gym. They clearly have no interest in helping you despite being a 24 gym. There are many way better options in the area. Chad didnt care at all to work with me and basically said his business model worked and I needed to accommodate him. Guess I'll spend my money elsewhere.

This is not the best gym in town, but for the price you pay, the fact that youβre not scammed into a 5 year contract, and itβs for the most part open 24 hours with all the basics I would expect for a gym itβs pretty fantastic. As someone with a schedule who doesnβt allow them to go to the gym earlier than nighttime this gym is great. The staff is very friendly, and Iβve never had any issues with any of the gym members being anything but friendly. A few complaints are the locker rooms are in pretty bad shape, some of the machines are outdated and not working well and they advertise 24 hours, but thatβs not really true when it comes to the weekends which is kind of obnoxious. Overall for the price you pay and the customer service I highly recommend this gym.

Iβm someone that enjoys my workouts and now recovering from a hip injury have specific workout needs. Iβve been looking at gyms and decided to check this place out. They have no trials at all you have to either sign up with a year contract to get $9.95 a month and no free trials. I asked for a paid week pass.. which costs $30! Makes no business sense when most gyms give a free two week trial!

I had been a long time member for many years. I began working 2 jobs and I called to cancel my membership. I was informed I had to come in which, with all my personal issues, I was unable to. I had been paying a membership fee of $21.30 and had not been in the gym for months. So, I go in to cancel and not only will they still be charging me for this month, but also a $41 fee for equipment. That I have not even been using. I am so disappointed with this business and I will be sure to let everyone I know about it.

Honestly you get what you pay for and a little will go a much longer way. This gym ALWAYS has broken equipment and weights all over the place. I was a student and got the summer plan and got it to where I could bring a friend; however, every time this blonde haired fat lady, ironic right, would always make us go back and pay extra if I wanted my friend to come. I had a chance to use the month extra for my winter break. Didnt even waste my time but i sure did waste my money.

I have only toured and tried out the three day pass. After my first of three days, I notice a lot of equipment is quite old and not functioning very well, if not out right broken. There is some pointless equipment shoved in as well. The floor is crowded with a lot of machines. Upon closer look, things are also not very clean, especially in the "stretching" area. It is nice that they have spinning and group fitness, however the classes I would want to attend occur outside the hours of the childcare facility. I doubt I will be joining this gym.

I couldn't in good conscience give this gym 5/5 stars, despite how much I enjoyed working out there for a little over a year. My tl;dr summary is that you cannot beat this gym for the money, but it's just short of perfection in my personal opinion.
The good: Let me be very clear about this point-- The staff is AMAZING. I worked with two different trainers and both were fantastic. Everyone is always cheerful, friendly, and happy to help if you have any questions. They also have a huge selection of machines and free weights. You will be very hard pressed to find a better gym for the money!!
The bad: The gym is a bit dirty and some of the equipment isn't in great shape. It seems like one of the several cable machines is always broken, many of the machines are missing the weight selector pins, and some of the pleather on the seats and seats and benches are cracking. Other than those minor gripes, the weights and machines are perfectly adequate.
The ugly: If it weren't for this issue I would've given the gym 5/5 stars, but this really upsets me. Before I moved out of the state I asked someone at the front desk how I should cancel my membership after I leave the area. He told me to call a phone number he gave me in order to cancel. Sounds easy, right? Well, when I moved out of state and called the number they told me that I either have to cancel my membership in person at the gym, OR SEND A LETTER TO CORPORATE ASKING THEM TO CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP. In this day and age I think that's totally unacceptable! and I can't help but feel like this is designed to make it harder to cancel your membership.
Overall I'm very pleased with my experience at FitWorks and would recommend it to others...with the caveat that they seemingly make it difficult to cancel your membership.

Awesome people at this gym. Both the staff AND the clientele are very friendly. I've been to a lot of different gyms, and so many of them have a ton of attitude, but here everyone's friendly. I know half the crowd that works out at the same time I do. The equipment is solid. You can't beat the price. Open 24hours during the week. Awesome.
My only complaint is the men's showers. I've been in third world countries with cleaner showers... So if you don't want to come away with MERSA, don't use the showers. But for all else, I highly recommend this gym.
-EDIT- They have since remodeled the showers so it's been a lot better. Changed my rating to 5 stars, so thanks to the staff and please keep it up! :) RE-EDIT the bathrooms are supes nasty again :'(

I started here with my fiance a couple of weeks ago and so far we LOVE it.
They are very transparent about payment options and the contract, which is refreshing given the reputation gyms have, and their staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The spin class instructor we had had on Wednesday was amazing and very helpful.
The cardio theatre is a super cool and unique feature.
We haven't really had to wait for anything we want to do.
Great gym.

I've been to most of the Fitworks locations throughout the Cincinnati area and this is byfar the worse of them all. The staff was friendly althought. The gym is dirty and most of the equipment is ruined or outdated. The layout is also poor for during busy times. The dumbbells are shoved into a small corner for some reason. Even after the reopening it is still rough.

This place is great! I'm not a buff body builder or anything, but there are plenty of those type that live here.
PRICE: extremely affordable at $9.99 per month and no contract (but they do auto-withdrawal it from your credit card). Keep in mind that there are multiple levels of membership and the cheapest one doesn't allow you to bring in a friend, but I think it would make financial sense to get a work out buddy and split the cost of the more expensive plans, which really aren't even expensive. The personal training is around $80/ month and is well worth the cost.
STAFF: very friendly people who say hello and goodbye. They even hold the door open for you. The nice manager gave me a thorough tour and explained their pricing and perks very plainly. He wasn't a schemer and wanted to help me, not steal my wallet. Jeremiah, a personal trainer, helped me to pick a plan and gave me a good initial workout. Rich is another wonderful trainer and he has decades of experience and it shows! He holds educational seminars about working out and he has certifications and some higher education. Most of all he's super experienced, kind, funny, inspirational and encouraging.
ENVIRONMENT: The air doesn't smell like a gym at all. I frequently see people cleaning and vacuuming. There are lots of machines, 2 cardio movie theaters, spinning class, yoga place and a large free-weight area. This isn't a Hollywood-level, mega expensive place, so it's not the most up-to-date place and the equipment isn't all new. A ritzy fella may even say it's run-down. I'm here to get in shape though, not critique them for an article in Good Housekeeping. I'm glad hey aren't wasting my money on re modeling the place because it's FINE how it is. The machines are rarely out of service and seem to be repaired fast. The locker room is clean and has showers and a sauna. I've never seen this place too crowded to work out and only rarely do I have to wait for anything to be open. They are open 24 hours/day Monday thru Fri and close earlier on weekends. I really wish they would truly operate a 24/7 schedule.

Credit where credit is due: several months ago I made my original review and gave the place 2/5 stars, based largely on how unclean and messy a lot of the gym was, as well as it not being 24 hours and a few other minor shortcomings. I do not know if my review had anything to do with it, but I have certainly noticed a welcomed increase in cleaning and maintenance, especially in the locker rooms. The locker rooms are now clean, the drinking fountains aren't leaking, and the trash isn't piling up. Overall it's now a well-kept gym and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. As of now, my only complaint is their closing a little early on the weekends and the apparent inability of some patrons to clean up after themselves in the free-weight area, but I suppose that's out of management's control.

Friendly staff. The gym was very nice and clean. We went around lunchtime and it was not very crowded at all. I loved the movie theater cardio rooms. The only complaint that I have is the surprise fees they throw at you when you decide to get a membership. They advertise as 10 dollars a month per member for the basic membership. There is a 49 dollar enrollment fee which is just fine...however, when we agreed on this membership, while we were in the middle of getting things set up she told us about how there is also a yearly charge for all members of 40 dollars. It was just a bit of a shock to us....she explained it is to help with maintenance of the facility and every member pays it, it just would have just been nice to know about this charge when we were discussing the different memberships, not after we decided to go with the gym.

I first started with physical therapy at Fitworks. Even though I was doing therapy and not a member of Fitworks all of the Fitworks employees were so nice and helpful whenever I needed it. Once my therapy was over I decided to join the gym. And again, all the employees were so nice and helpful whenever I needed it. I now have a personal trainer twice a week and all of the trainers are so helpful and really put you through a workout. I still have limitations from an injury, but the trainers are very knowledgeable and are able to work around my limitations to still give me a good workout and help me to get out of having limitations. I would recommend Fitworks on Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek, Ohio to anyone. The place is a great place to workout at and make new friends.

Extremely friendly staff. Lots of cardio equipment unlike other gyms that get full. 2 full station cable machines instead of one. 2 empty rooms to do anything you want from HIIT to stretching along with the weight sessions. Stand up tanning beds and 2 MOVIE cardio rooms along with a Sauna??? All for $10 bucks a month... Awesome gym... You can have something similar some where else, but triple the price... Screw that... Fitworks is the gym I've been looking for.. $10/month for their base plan, all the free weights I need, and no commitment. Most gyms will lock you in for a period of time and you might not realize it's in the fine print. I made sure with Fitworks that "no commitment" really means "no commitment". Not that I have any plans to leave soon anyway, but it's nice to know there's no hidden contract!
