I moved 2 years ago and my last visit there I signed all necessary paperwork to cancel my membership and they must have lost it or canceled the wrong account because I noticed the last 2 months I’m still being charged. They have changed managers multiple times over the years and I believe this is their mistake. I have called and emailed multiple times and a staff member said they’d have someone call and have me a direct email and I haven’t heard anything. Looking back I’ve been charged for 2 years which totals over $800. I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Just recently rejoined. I love the fact that there are so many treadmills and other cardio equipment but the only thing I wish is they had an additional biceps curl machine. The last 3x I have been in that particular machine has been for lack of a kinder word "monopolized" by men who use it for almost 20-30 minutes. Other than that I'm enjoying the facility

I like the 24 hour access and the gym has everything I need to workout. There has been alot of paint on the floors from the ceilings, and a few months ago there used to be a guy who would sleep in the movie theater cardio room at night. But i haven't seen him in awhile. Overall i would recommend this gym to workout especially if youre a night owl like me.

I paid for 24/7 access as my work hours fluctuate constantly. The entire gym is in disrepair. The paint is falling from the ceilings, the equipment its always broken, if you put in a work order to repair the equipment they will "fix it" for it to break immediately. There are HOMELESS PEOPLE LIVING IN THE LOCKER ROOMS (!!!) and nothing has been done to correct that. The employees are never at the counter during hours. They leave themselves signed into their computers and business accounts with no one working. The gym itself is always dirty with no accountability for reracking your weights or picking up your trash. If you care for your personal and financial safety, I would NOT recommend this gym.

They will quietly extend your membership without your consent after it expires and instead of calling you to tell you your membership has expired they extend it anyway. Place is a scam.

The gym is very good with a variety of free weights and machines. The only issue with them is the charges. It’s already overpriced and has short hours especially on the weekends. If you want 24/7 access they charge you even more it’s $40/month!!! And they add some other benefits but to most people they’re completely minuscule. There were also MULTIPLE instances of them charging me twice in one month. After I cancelled my membership, they also told me that in the future if I want to come back I can use their student discount, which was never offered to me, meaning they basically stole money from me. This gym is great, but they are not good at promoting offers to customers and making sure that their customers get the best deal possible.

I got bullied here by a lady who yelled at me for walking in an empty hallway and being on my phone. I was looking for music to play during my workout. She cursed at me and when I confronted her she started becoming hostile and walking toward me like she was going to hit me. She told the manager something of which I do not know and he took her side. I guess they knew each other well. He told me I had to leave even though she was the aggressor. I asked for my months payment back and he did give it back to me. He did not handle this situation fairly.

The good: The gym has plenty of benches and 4 squat racks if lifting is important to you. There are also plenty of ellipticals and treadmillls plus a stairstepper. There is also a cardio fitness room so you can watch a movie and workout. The club is 24 hour with key card access. The atmosphere is very laid back and the other members are great.

The bad: Management does not care about this location and we have not had a new piece of equipment in the 20 years that I have been a member here. We get old equipment from clubs they do invest in and about 12 years ago, we got old equipment from another gym in the area that shut down. The air conditioning sometimes goes out and it can take weeks to get it repaired.

The automatic door has repeatedly broken down this summer and the gym does not have the courtesy to let members know when they will be able to workout.

I would avoid unless they can confirm they have these issues fixed.

Gyms are usually terrifying to the average person. Full of crazy looking torturous devices, harsh lights, scary music that turn humans into sweaty piles of goo after a short battle. But, in light of the reopening of society after a long refuge in a cave- this gym served as a motivating, life-altering place. The personal trainers are extremely helpful, attentive, and will provide an invaluable amount of inspiration to help us lowly peasants achieve our fitness goals.

The gym used to be 24 hours. This was nice and fit my schedule. Since covid, the gym hours changed and opening time is 4:30 am. However, the gym is rarely opens on time (pending the opener). For example the last 2 days, I pulled up to the gym between 5:15-5:25 am and the gym was still not open. Once, on a weekend, we watched an assistant manager sneak out the back and walk around the building (and hour after the gym was supposed to be open) so she would not have to open the gym for the members.The last 2-3 winters , the gym sits about 46-58 degrees.

Terrible management! After my two year contract was up, Fitworks kicked me off my deal with no warning! I never missed a payment, never bothered anyone when I did go workout at Fitworks. Management wouldn't make it right. Basically told me I'm screwed. Thank goodness for other gyms.

This is the Most mismanaged gym around. The people that work there do the best they can with what they've got..
There is Paint strips hanging from ceiling thru out the place. The heat is out 3/4s of the time. It's always approximately 20 degrees colder in the back and the front is already cold. The membership attendance down 80 % no one wants go to that place.
I wish someone would buy it and refurbish it. It is shame because it is convenient.

This place is always freezing, the heat is always broken. It is so disappointing, because so many people love this place. But for no reason should the gym be 40-50 degrees. Over the years things have just stopped getting fixed and it is very sad.This location is perfect, it is by grocery stores, GNC, Chipotle, Target, Starbucks, etc. It is really the only gym in the area, it is a perfect distances for people who live in Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, Kent, Munro Falls, and more. From a business perspective I just don't understand why they would be letting a location like this crumple.

I really enjoy the friendliness of the staff. Also the biggest bonus and the biggest reason I can even be a member there is because of their child care! I had to cancel my Planet Fitness membership once I took on my niece because I have no one else to watch her. With the child care option, it makes it much easier to get my workout in!

I enjoy the Silver Sneakers class I take. The instructor (Jen) is great. But the floor is in very bad shape. It is only a matter of time before someone is injured.It is becoming impossible to avoid every “bad spot” in the floor.

Did a free trial here and found it to be a nice fit. I am relocating, though, and don't need a membership. Most of the staff was very nice, but some seemed a bit bothered when I asked where something was. They also didn't know how to handle my request for a month-to-month membership.

The equipment was great for someone interested in power-lifting. The dumbbells went up to well over 100lbs. The place was not crowded, which was a huge plus. It was clean and I didn't have any issues with actually working out, which is all I really cared about. Their prices were reasonable and if I were staying in town, I would commit to a membership.

I’m so glad to be out of my fitworks membership. The facility is a Sauna, especially in the front. It’s very uncomfortable to work out in there. They are not open 24 hours- in fact, they close at 6 pm on saturdays and sundays which is very inconvenient. The price also isn’t that good for the low quality service. We payed $38/month for two people, plus the annual maintenance fee of $80 for two. I am much happier at our new gym where I actually enjoy going to work out!

They advertise it at 9.99 but really it's 15.99 a month plus they also have a "upkeep" fee of 50 dollars and then when we tried to cancel they didn't mention anything about paperwork and kept charging us with freaking late fee! The staff is rude, standoffish and "bratty" on a good day, the 24 hour thing is straight up fabricated, and the prices are an outright lie. The sign may say 9.99 per month, but the actual rate is twice that and that doesn't even even includes the $40 yearly "maintenance fee" that you will only find if you search for it yourself in the contract. The manager is nice enough, the dumbbells are heavy enough, and the equipment selection is diverse, but the positives end there. If they had any real competition, they'd be out of business with their current model. Terrible establishment, but unfortunately it's the only suitable option I have at the moment.

For weight lifters, go to buckeye instead (if you're close enough). For everyone else that's just looking for a place to exercise, grab a membership at snap or the Kent Wellness center. You'll be much happier, I promise.

Use to go here all the time and sweat my butt off on the treadmills up in the front window. The back weight area is a 10 degree difference! The fans are small and don't work most of the time. Finally decide to give Planet Fitness my business. I can get almost all my exercises done there . It's also COOL and CLEAN!

I've been a member and part of the Fitworks since 2008. Since the move from Akron to Stow I've spent many hours in both gyms improving my physical well-being. If it wasn't for the comfortable atmosphere, large space with many machines, and the wonderful Fitworks family I don't think I would have achieved the gym experience I was looking for when I move back to Ohio in 2008. The club offers a variety of classes such as Spinning, Group Power (barbell class), yoga and the instructors are very good. It has ample weight machines and the best equipped free weight section compared to other clubs in the area. There's plenty of cardio equipment and the cardio cinema room is fun, watch a movie and do the eliptical.
