The staff who signed us up for a package lied about how progressing to the next class works. When they called half way through the 12 weeks and I voiced my concerns, they said they’d let the instructors know. The kids get all of maybe 8 of 30 minutes per class in the actual pool between walk in, taking turns, and end of lesson update. It’s the same 5 things for 12 weeks on repeat without progressing so you have to pay more money no matter if your child is ready to advance. Additionally, they charged my credit card without consent and incorrectly via their own policies and I had to fight with a disrespectful staff member to have the charges reversed. There are more affordable, better options. Don’t be taken advantage of like we were.

We’ve had both of our kids attending goldfish for a little under a year now and have absolutely loved it!! Our daughter(1yr) had Emma as her teacher for alot of it and we just loved her and how great she was with our girl. Our son (3) had Kaitlin most of his experience thus far and she has been so patient with him and has truly got him to love going to swim school. He struggled at first being in swim class alone and she truly helped him get over that and love going to swim. Both are moving up now and we look forward to getting to know their new instructors!
Edit: we’ve been going to goldfish for 2 years now and we still do absolutely love Kaitlin. Bella is also an amazing instructor. However, a lot of the staff currently just don’t have any enthusiasm nor seem to enjoy working with children and as a parent of young children you need to bring the energy to keep them motivated. It gets hard sometimes to keep them enrolled when there’s only a few really great instructors.

This Goldfish is okay. My kids like it here and the staff is great. But the cancellation policy is way stringent, even in circumstances out of our control. And it is pretty pricey when compared to other options. In all, it's fine. Just not stellar or worth the higher prices.

My daughter has been attending Goldfish since 2019 and the experience has been incredible. The teachers are great and build a relationship with the swimmers from secret handshakes to cheering them on when they are testing to move on to the next class.

My daughter started swim school here this year and she loves it. She has learned so much in a short amount of time. Everyone there is so pleasant and helpful and Bella our swim instructor is amazing. The facilities are always clean too. Highly recommend taking your little fish here to learn how to swim.

Goldfish is okay... my daughter loves swimming and had fun with the classes but its way overpriced ($30 for a 30 min class) and everything feels rushed. We much prefer The Natatorium in Cuyahoga Falls. Only reason we ended up here is because Goldfish offered class times that worked better with my schedule. We did about 6 classes, and I was over it so we canceled. Be aware of their cancelation policy. You have to give them 30 days notice... ridiculous 🙄 anyway I will be using PTO just so we can go back to The Nat. If you have a membership or you're a resident of CF it's $54 for 6 classes, slightly more if youre not.
P.S. Goldfish also doesn't have actual showers. They only have a place to rinse off at in the open pool area. Super disappointing that we weren't able to take a real shower there after swimming given how pricey it is.

I dont leave alot of reviews but i feel compelled to after so many negative experiences my friends and family have had. Firstly...The turnover in this place is insane. Don't expect the teacher that your kid falls in love with to be around long because it's only a matter of time before they quit. (Look at employee review sites like "glassdoor" on this place if you don't believe me.) The owner Kristin treats her employees like garbage. She ignores issues when they are brought to her attention and allows subpar teaching and bullying amongst her staff. I recommended them like crazy because they were local, and I have never been so embarrassed that I did. So in conclusion, If you are looking for CORRECT swimming techniques taught by professional and experienced swimmers and not random high-school and college kids who could care less, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I donot recommend gold fish swimming for your kids. Staffs are good but the company itself with policies are wired. There are other several swimming classes done like , yamc , natatrium Cf, Akron general hospitals swimming and all these are worth with time and money
Let’s compare
Gold fish 30 mins $30 per class
See now others are cheaper and pro than gold fish.
Cleveland clinic : 30 mins $80 ( month) 4 weeks
Yamc 6 weeks $70 (6 weeks )
Natatorium: way cheaper and many water slides and water fun park inside for kids . Even they take care of child during your facility uses.
Sorry guys, I really don’t know just to pretend ok with others, I have seen sacral comments in the comment section but the comments are on pressure. Feel free to review . It’s your right. This is all gold fish is getting because of the phone conversation that they did with me last two months ago. Thank you .

Not worth paying $30 for 20 mins classes. They say it’s 30 minutes but they call out 5 minutes early and let in 5 minutes later. They are crazy of making money which they need 30 days advance notice for cancellation. Nobody is prepared 30 days in advance what will happen next. My son won’t be available due to school activities but goldfish told me they need 30 days notice. He cannot attend the classes. They are ruling my money . I will call my bank to hold the amount that they took in their pocket which they charged me for not attending classes. I have officially wrote an email before the month ends but they did not care about it at all. MY RECOMMENDATION PLEASE FIND AND JOIN OTHER RESOURCES RATHER THAN GOLDFISH.

They have a very bad cancellation policy. I requested a cancellation of the classes for my son because of after school activities, they did not . All they want is money, money. I have no choice . My son cannot attend the classes any more and they charge the full amount. At least they should have consider some. I totally do not recommend the Gold fish. There are many more swim schools in the area , which are cheap and worth it . Gold fish is not worth at all for paying $30 for 30 minutes classes.

My daughter hated coming here. I had her stick it out a few visits, but after seeing that she was only getting about 6 minutes of attention in the 25 minute class, watching her shiver because the water is so cold, and cry because going under water was giving her anxiety, I decided it was not a good place for her to be. I canceled our enrollment not realizing there was a 30 day notice required and they charged me another month. When I called to request a refund, they said it was a strict policy and the best they could do was give me credit to my account. The manager was nice and found some classes for the month that didn't have any other kids scheduled yet. But this policy is just terrible. The structure of 4 kids in one class is too much. They say they are 30 minutes but they are 20-25 max with the time it takes getting in and out of the pool. So you are paying $30 for 6 minutes and that's no exaggeration my friends. With how much money they make off us, it's a very poor policy to keep people on the hook another 30 days that they do not want to be there.

I highly recommend this swim school to all swimmers, especially beginners. My 3 year old was fairly terrified to go in the pool without mom or dad and refused any other adult. Goldfish lifeguards and instructors are so patient and encouraging. Staff provide follow up phone calls to ensure satisfaction and help with advice if needed. My beginner is no longer afraid to get in and has made so much progress in just 4 sessions. Goldfish is amazing!

Awful customer service. Imagine receiving an email confirmation congratulating you on enrolling in a class, only to arrive and learn that you’ve been waitlisted instead of enrolled. It’s a franchise matter, explained the general manager, taking no accountability. Even if you had been enrolled in the class, your child can’t participate in the lesson because we don’t offer 1:1 lessons under age two, we were then told. Hard to understand after having a conversation with a person explaining what we were looking for, who actually suggested the 1:1 class in the first place. Now we’re headed home with immense frustration and disappointment, on top of having to explain why to our daughter that she can’t go swimming after all. Thanks for ruining our weekend Goldfish.

I take my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter to Goldfish weekly. She has gone from not liking baths to not being able to get her out. In addition she loves the shower. Her confidence in the water is amazing. We love the repetition of safety skills each week. Nora tells me what they are going to do next! The instructors make swimming fun while teaching valuable skills! We can’t wait to swim outside this summer with her. Whenever we drive by she points out Goldfish and talks about going to class. We are very pleased with goldfish.

This place will reschedule your appointments for maintenance multiple times a month and then if you don't keep reappling and paying for lessons they will not let you use what they call make up tokens when they are the ones who reschedule. You lose money and they don't give it back. Real scummy business practices.

Surprised this place gets as many good reviews as it does. During swim lessons our child swam a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds each class. The entire class was 30 minutes long. Absolutely ridiculous. When I brought the issue up to management they brushed me off and told me they would “watch” the instructors and told me to try a different instructor. We had this issue with 3 separate teachers so it’s not an instructor issue, it’s the way they run their classes. That was the ONLY resolution offered. I would never recommend wasting money here. There are PLENTY of other local swim organizations that actually spend time with your child to teach them swim skills for longer then 2 minutes.

Update: I want to give kudos and many thanks to my son's swim instructor Rosa. You are very kind, gentle and fun with my child. We love you and we will miss you as we are taking a break from swimming! I stopped by today to fill out a withdrawal form due to family schedule conflict this summer. Not because of the instructors. They are patient and gentle with kids. Then I learned that my glider 1 will have a new instructor AGAIN! This is the third instructor in less than a month! My child has terrible anxiety, by the time he gets used to an instructor, they change to another! I have to update the new instructor again on what my child struggles and fears! There is no continuity if we are constantly having new instructors!

The Goldfish Swim School in Hudson is fantastic! The instructors are welcoming, insightful and supportive! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, they have a baby changing station with diapers and wipes as well as blow dryers for the little ones. I recommend bringing your little fish to this school.

My kids have become amazing swimmers - a huge thanks to Goldfish! Now 7 and 5 years old, 6 months of swim lessons have taught them the skills that now set them a part from their peers at school swim. All staff are professional and friendly, and very accommodating with changing family schedules. My kids love going to swim class each week!

You guys have the magic formula! Where he was previously frightened of putting his face in the water, you folks have him starting to swim like a fish and diving for rings without a moment's hesitation. Very grateful momma here!

My daughter is finally swimming and she enjoys going to her lessons. Thank you for having small classes and friendly, knowledgeable instructors. It’s nice when the instructors try to get to know her a bit, it makes her feel more at ease in the class.

My 1yr old daughter absolutely loves this place! The staff is always so friendly and they seem to truly care about each child individually! If you can’t make it to your regular class, you can just make it up at a later time. They’re so helpful and accommodating! Would recommend Goldfish Swim School to all parents who want their babies to learn to swim!

The staff are great with our four year old. We also love the facilities. It makes it easy to manage a wet preschooler who can sometimes be hard to wrangle :)

While we had lessons there the place was amazing. However we joined a different club in March and they are still trying to process monthly payments for me! (It is May)I have called them directly three times and yet they still take my money. I guess it’s a good place if you never try to end lessons.

We love Goldfish for the water temperature, small more individual class sizes (student, teacher ratio) & teaching the proper technique and swim strokes. Thanks!
