At Goldfish Swim School - Strongsville, we teach children how to swim and build character through guided play. My 7 year old Grandson is surely making so much Progress!! Only a year ago he would scream if he got his head and face wet in his bath. Now he advanced to the Pro2 level doing all kinds of float techniques and using flippers which helps him swim on the "bottom" of their 4 feet deep water from one side to the other just like a fish!! And he loves Diving to the bottom of the 4' pool for diving rings. It is so amazing!! Love how small each class is too! It's almost like they are getting a Private lesson with the teacher!!

We've had our kids (6 and 2 years old) at Goldfish for nine months, and we've had a tremendously positive experience. The confidence our kids have now in the water is light years ahead of where they were nine months ago. Kids rotate teachers often when they level up (master all skills of a tier), and each teacher our kids have had have been wonderful people who our kids easily connect with. Every teacher seems to enjoy working with kids and responds with patience. The rates are reasonable, and the school is incredibly flexible with various issues that come up (fellow parents know what I'm talking about). They get kids, they get the hassle families have to go through, and they respond with empathy and a customer-focused approach. We are grateful for the time here and the care Goldfish has provided our kids. We highly recommend the school!

Not welcoming, did not help my pool anxiety 3 year old get used to the place or the water. The teacher didnβt even greet us or try to help my daughter or ease her fears. Just didnβt feel like a great place for a young, anxious new swimmer. Disappointed.

I purchased an 8 month swimmimg package for my granddaughter and paid in advance on my credit card. Every month since then this organization has added fees to my credit card even though I was paid in full Day 1. Be careful. I have had to call every month to get my credit card refunded. If you pay in advance I insist they delete your credit card. They need help

My baby had a great time here, but itβs a money pit. Itβs literally more than $2 a minute here, thatβs insane. They end the class a few minutes early because the next class starts AT THE EXACT TIME that the previous class ends. How is that fair? Thatβs like taking $7 out of my pocket and throwing it in the shredder. $160 a month for a total of 2 hours (well less than two hours bc like I said, they cut the lessons by 2-3 minutes) is NUTS!!!!! If they change this Iβll CONSIDER coming back.

I wish I could give a higher rating but I could not.
I had to cancel my son membership frustratedly and regret taking him to this location. I understand my son is a slow learner when it comes to swimming but he was never afraid of jumping in the water.
He got trauma from a short drowning (intructor was trying to push him to be better but it backfired ). Since then, he never recover from it and his progress keeps getting worse. I tried changing his class and it does not improve. I heard he was yelling from the outside on his last day and that was the last nail in the coffin that I need to cancel his membership. The 30 day policy makes it worse because he refuses to go and we're stuck with all these makeup tokens that we could never use.
I hope he will recover one day.

We have had Abby on Sunday mornings since my daughter was 4 months and she is THE BEST. She knows how to make the mini class fun and enjoyable for the parent and child! She also is great at explaining each skill throughly and effectively. Sometimes when there are substitute teachers it seems like they do not know the mini class curriculum and do not enjoy teaching it either. I think thatβs the only area that needs improvement. Parents pay for these classes with their hard earned money and deserve quality lessons. I think attitudes and knowledge is very important ESPECIALLY in the early classes. (Mini 1 and mini 2) A baby class canβt be taught with blank expressions and lack of enthusiasmβ¦but with that said we love Goldfish, I am confidant that my daughter is learning how to love the water. As she gets older I want to feel confident that she will be safe in the water, and with continued lessons here I know she will!

My daughter has been taking swim lessons through Goldfish for years. She started Goldfish swim lessons as an infant at a different location. We switched to Goldfish Strongsville in 2021. She started in the Junior 1 class and she is currently in Swim Force (since summer 2023). She is always excited for her lessons and loves all the staff members. Every time she walks in, they always greet her by name. Strongsville is definitely the superior location: friendly staff, excellent instructors, clean environment and fun extra events.
This summer, we enrolled her in the Technique Clinic for Swim Force swimmers. This was exactly what she needed! One hour a day for five days of improving her strokes. Each day they worked on a specific stroke. Her instructor, Colin, was amazing! He helped my daughter fine tune each stroke to improve her breathing and speed along with other skills for swim meets. We would enroll in this clinic every summer!

The instructors were highly skilled and knowledgeable, providing clear and concise instructions throughout the lessons. My son was timid and wouldnβt go into the water without a float before the Jump Start Clinic. After one lesson, that fear was eased. By the end of the week/clinic, he was swimming independently for about 5-10 feet. He still has ways to go with form, but the confidence and knowledge he gained in one week has been unbelievable. 10/10 recommend looking into the Clinics - especially if you have timid swimmers. PS - Big shout out to instructor Ben as well; He was so patient with my son and knew exactly had to shift his technique for a successful week.

My daughter is 4 now and has been going to Goldfish in Strongsville for a year. She was in Juniors 2 for 6+ months, which we were a bit concerned about, but consistently progressing. I really need to call out Grace, the swim instructor. Once she was put with my daughter, I feel that she really started to make great improvements. Within a week of making it to Juniors 3 she progressed to Gliders 2.
The point being, the progress my daughter has made in the past year, from getting more comfortable with the water, learning water safety, front and back stroke, back float, etc. has been tremendous. You definitely need to pay a premium at Goldfish but the 4:1 student to teacher ratio is fantastic. There have been numerous times it's been 2:1 or even 1:1. Make up classes and family swim are just added bonuses. We are thrilled that my daughter was placed in Grace's Gliders 2 class! She's fantastic but almost all of the teachers have been so patient with the kids and provide solid instruction.

After taking my daughter to her weekly classes for a year starting around 4months, the confidence I see her in the water is truly thanks to Goldfish. After coming for so long to her classes and swimming at their family swim, weβre always greeted nicely at the front desk. Itβs nice to hear from the lifeguards, and staff be greeted even with our name.
When classes are ready to start they have this area where kids can color to buy time and their front desk rotates toys to take home weekly.
What really makes me want to write this 5 star review, is really how the staff and lifeguards are to the kids and parents. If my daughter is sick, misses a class theyβre so easy to redeem a make up class with no hassle. Everyoneβs polite and Iβm a big believer on first impressions.
The cleanliness of the facility, the changing room, and showers are up kept, and always have a stock full of soap to wash.
I will 100 % recommend any parent to get their child in the water at a young age. My daughter is almost 2, and for the small things, climbing out of the pool, jumping in the water, allowing me to dunk her and dive under water with no crying is really thanks to you guys.

For years, our kids took classes at the local rec center. They never acquired new skills to be promoted up to the next class, they would always just age out.
We started Goldfish a couple months ago and my oldest can already swim across the pool and tread water for more than 30 seconds. The difference is just unreal.
The instructors take time to make sure the kids are comfortable in the water and teach them practical skills. They know just the right amount to push them to gain skills, but keep them feeling safe and in control. These classes are easily one of the best investments we have made. Thank you Goldfish!

My girls love to come to their swim lessons. They enjoy that the instructors remember them. Everyone treats them like they are their kids or friends. Lessons are going very well. After 6 months or so, I just cancelled. A complete waste of time and money. The kids barely learned a thing, unbelievable.
The teachers are very often different from class to class, the teachers literally did the exact same thing week after week, nothing new, didnβt push the kids to challenge themselves, same thing week after week (here is what they do every week: floating in the water, putting their head in the water, and here goes again, I kid you not!).
The teachers are basically high schoolers, so I canβt blame them, the teacher responsibility is on the management of course.
The facility is clean, convenient, and looks good.
But the bottom line is: after almost 6 months, and spending a fortune, the kids can float and put their head in the water. Thatβs is.
Bottom line: Save your money and time and go somewhere else. Oh, and when you do want to cancel? You have to fill a paper form (canβt be done online) and pay for another full month!!!

The manager reached out to me, they want to fix the situation and was very very polite and respectful. I was very surprised how much they actually care that we are happy with the school and they offered a way to fix the situation. Iβm pleasantly surprised and truly appreciate the response. I will update this in the future after I see how things going, but the fact the manager reached out means a lot.

My 1 year daughter went for her trial class and unfortunately, she didn't want to go in water. The teacher was not interested to attract my baby in any way. The teacher didn't show any professionalism at all. I don't recommend to visit this place because you pay your money for what you can get for free in different places.
We paid for my daughter's first month before she had her trial class. Since she didn't want to go, we lost our money for entire month + membership fee. If in that place there would be honest people they wouldn't charge you, but ....

The teachers and the overall environment has allowed my daughter to excel to levels I didn't think would be possible in such a short time. Not that i didn't have the confidence in her but she was extremely stiff and now she really just can't be pulled from the water since she is so fluid with her swimming now. βThe Goldfish instructors are always smiling and praising the children during instruction. They are patient and encouraging while not being too pushy when they show the children some new strokes. The pool is well surprised by life guards and others. The bathrooms and changing rooms are always clean. The people at the reception desk and those answering the phone are always polite and informative when answering questions. I also like attending the family free swims. The pool temperature is comfortable for the children and I love the area where the parents can watch the instruction. It is a very positive experience for leaning a new skill. My 8 yr old was really scared of learning how to swim. I brought him here and he loves it! He is not afraid of the water anymore and after a few weeks, he learned enough to keep himself afloat in water. It is a bit pricey but for me it was worth it to help him with his anxieties. Also, all the instructors we interacted with were very nice. Would definitely recommend this school for anyone looking to teach their child to swim. (I think they offer lessons for up to 12 years old)

My 3 year old son has been in lessons since this location opened (March '21?) and hasn't moved up in skill level at all. Unfortunately, a 25 minute weekly class with a 4:1 ratio of students to teacher doesn't leave time to individualize the lessons. For $100 a month, I would hope for progress in 6 months. My daughter attended classes at the Fairview location and regularly assessed and moved up appropriately.

Our experience with Goldfish Swim has been amazing! We love the small weekly lessons, flexibility of makeup classes and family swim options! We have been members since opening day for our 8 year old and really enjoy the weekly lessons.
We just started the 5 day swim clinic and it has been an incredible experience from the start! Our 8 year has loved the one on one attention and has built confidence and skills in just 2 days! Our 3 1/2 year old has never wanted to go in the water and has sensory processing disorder. As a nervous Mom I wasnβt sure how this would go. From day 1 his swim instructor Belle has been a dream come true!! She is so patient and calm, just what he needed! No tears at all, she was able to get him in the water and even laughing! We would highly recommend Strongsville Goldfish swim to everyone!! When you walk in, everyone working here is so friendly and great with kids!! We live in Medina and it is worth the drive!!

Miss Delaney is absolutely the BEST! She makes sure every time our son is ready to swim, there are balls for him to play with and she makes sure he is well taken care of. I couldn't have asked for someone better to help watch over him. We feel 100% safe with her. She should be given high recognition!
