ISI is a special place! I’ve tried working out on my own for years but this community keeps me coming back. The encouragement and support for my own unique needs is unmatched. Love the diversity of skill and age in the classes. We are always encouraged to elevate our own skills rather than compete with the person next to us. The team is so knowledgeable about fitness and keep things fun in the process! 10/10 recommend!

I've been her for about 3-4 months. Hand down the friendliest staff at any gym I have ever visited. I mostly go at 530a with that crew and we're done in ~50 min. I have not done too many boxing classes, but those look fun too. Classes are usually 4-8 folks, more on the weekends I am told. Clean bathrooms, if that matters to you. Also has personal training, if you want that 1v1 attention. Location is also clutch. Who isn't 10-15 from Norwood?

This is THE BEST strength training gym in the Cincinnati area hands down! Although I have not been to all of Cincinnati's gyms, I can confidently say I have been to at least 20 of them. From small boutique gyms to chains and Iron surpass them all. Main pros; staff is amazingly knowledgeable, you get the most personalized attention, great equipment, friendly and welcoming environment. Some cons; location and lack of showers. Honestly, if you want a personal trainer without the cost, an amazing workout in a small group and be challenged...this is the gym for you!

UPDATE: I have been taking the boxing classes regularly for 3 months, and they are always SO good. I always feel so challenged, mentally and physically. The community is fantastic and they encourage me to keep pushing. The instructor has a way of making each class unique and fun. I am hooked!
Iron Sharpens Iron is a total game-changer if you're looking for health and supportive community.

Can’t be more grateful for having my son come to iron sharpens iron. After working with Eric with agility training my son was able to get the starting fullback position his first time playing football. The coaches said his footwork and speed are levels above anyone else on the team.

LOVE this gym! Switched here recently and wish I did years ago. Great workouts, lots of variety and ability to scale up or down the intensity as needed, clean and well equipped facility, welcoming and knowledgable trainers, and just an overall great vibe.

I absolutely love this gym. The owner and the other trainers are incredible. They are kind, loving, caring, invested in YOU, and knowledgeable. It’s a comfortable, friendly, and safe space that I as a mom, feel so welcome and am always glad to be. Come! Try a class! I promise you will laugh, feel encouraged, believe you can do hard things, hear some good music, and just want to come back.

This place is really fun! Circuit style workouts that feels like a blend of CrossFit and boxing. I didn't do it, but the pilates classes look pretty cool too!

This place is amazing. The works outs are super challenging and I appreciate the thought the trainers out into making sure every part of the body gets worked through push AND pull motions, HIIT, weight bearing movements and more.

Love this gym. Was looking for a positive, faith based gym with like minded people. Was thrilled when a friend mentioned Iron Sharpens Iron. I typically attend the 5:30am Early Burn and the time is perfect to work out and then make it to work. Alex the trainer knows everyone’s name, is ALWAYS positive and motivating. Jen and John the other trainers are always awesome and fun when they teach as well. It’s definitely made me want to work out knowing I get to see people who have become friends!

I wouldn't work out anywhere else. The trainers meet you where you are and encourage you to grow. The atmosphere is amazing and supportive. The variety of classes makes it easy to find what's right for you! Definitely recommend.

So thankful I found this place and for the environment and community they’ve created! I am always pushed and challenged in my workouts, but also met with acceptance and patience as well. The facility is always clean and has all the space and equipment you need for a great workout. Alex, John, Jen, Emily, Joey and Chelsea are all very knowledgeable and always willing to help.

It's hard to describe what Iron Sharpens Iron does differently from other High Intensity Interval Training places and at first glance the classes are very similar but it certainly feels different. There's a real sense of community and mutual encouragement instead of only focusing on competition and personal improvement. Don't get me wrong, it'll still challenging and it will be an amazing exercise. The coaches are awesome and they really help you grow but what makes ISI special is hard to pinpoint. What I'll say is that I've never been able to stick with a Gym or exercise routine before and I've been going 3 months to ISI with no plans to stop. I don't know that would have happened anywhere else

If you’re looking for a gym where you will leave feeling encouraged, Iron Sharpens Iron is your place. If CrossFit has injured you and you want more sustainable HIIT that still kicks your butt, this is the place for you. There’s no mirrors, no body shaming, just some really amazing people who want to feel healthy and live with passion and purpose.
I was surprised by the price at first, but I will tell you that it has been worth every penny for me. When it comes to a gym, you will get what you pay for. First class is free though so come check it out for yourself!

I have tried just about every group fitness gym in town (Sweat+Training, Cincinnati Fitness Boxing, multiple Crossfits, CycleBar, VHS in my living room, Cincinnati Functional Fitness, etc)......Iron Sharpens Iron beats them all.
Let me set the scene:
1) huge space
2) energizing Rap & R&B music
3) 2 HIIT circuits per class, exercises rarely repeated
4) 2-3 Hype Men (and soon to be 1 Hype Woman) leading the workouts, getting you excited, pushing you without embarrassing you
5) Free towels AND water

They're also partnered with Lulu Lemon, and even have a boxing class.
The Saturday morning workouts book up before Fri night, so get on that stat. But in terms of bang for your buck (~$13/class, great music/fun trainers, guaranteed sweaty butt), it's tough to top ISI.

At 52, I hadn't realized how much strength and balance I had lost over the years until I started working with John at Iron Sharpens Iron. In addition, the pain in my hips and back have been significantly reduced as my core muscle strength has increased. I have not historically exercised much, so I appreciated that John was able to start at square one with me and didn't mind my lack of skill or previous training. It was a really great experience, and I'd definitely recommend these guys!
