I’m here for the Pool.
The pool is small for the community.
My suggestion is to add 45 mins of adult swim in the evenings Monday-Thursday from 7:45pm -8:30pm then close Y at 8:45pm, especially during winter swim team season.
As a couple, we are unable to do morning adult lap swim due to our work schedule.
The hot tub jets have been fixed & working in 2025 !!!

We joined so that my wife could participate in the water aerobics program. She found it very enjoyable. I wanted to rent a locker, but the staff was unsure how to accommodate. The facility was very clean, and the pool ph was monitored closely. The hot tub was very nice. The water temperature was very warm in the pool.

They need a handle on the hot tub so you can flush it. The sauna was slimy and disgusting. The locker room was water puddles with green stuff growing in the shower. I didn't even stay. The jets were broken in the hot tub and I called before I went and they said it was working. I'd rather drive to Gahanna, Grove City or Hillard and I only live 3 miles away from this location. The outdoor pool is totally green and closed. They don't have soap for the showers which is one big room without separate showers. The equipment is coated in dirt and boogers. Somebody was even at the front desk complaining somebody walked up and stole their stuff right off the gym floor. This place needs to be closed down by the health department. It's disgusting. It's shamefully disgusting. They need to change the name from Jerry Garver to Louis Pasteur. I would say this is probably the most contagious place to go in Columbus if you want to get sick.

The team at Garver take great pride in their swim lessons. We live across town but Garver was recommended as one of the top Y's for swim lessons. My daughter has had Paige and another young lady as instructors and comes out better each session. Very proud of her progress and owe it all to the aquatics team!

Yesterday was our first time at this ymca. The staff was friendly and we will be back because it is convenient. I do however have some feedback. I love that there is a pond on the property and wanted to sit outside. I noticed there was a picnic table but as I approached it was surprised to see it in terrible condition. The table is missing a whole piece of table top exposing nails that someone could hurt themselves on. I find it hard to believe that that table was not immediately replaced. I know this is a ymca but these tables are on sale for $89 at Lowe’s as we speak. The community deserves to sit and enjoy the space as it was intended. Having somewhere to sit on the deck would be nice and I’m sure increase the use of the space. There was also visible bottles and trash floating along the sides of the water. I really do hope that if nothing else, this table is replaced asap so the community can enjoy the spring and summer view of the wildlife in the water.

This used to be my preferred Y location for about 20 years because it’s close to my home & met all my fitness needs; it is now my least favored. They close too early, if you get off work at 5 & have to pick up children & get through city traffic to get here, you’ll be lucky to get a 45 min workout cause they close promptly at 8pm. The staff is rude & pushy and could use a lesson on professionalism. The YMCA used to be a family oriented safe welcome environment for kids, under the new management, they show little respect to the elderly or the kids. The staff is inconsistent with the rules, & when I brought it to the attention of management, the man working the workout space attempted to overtake me, interrupt me & was down right disrespectful. . I will be looking for a new home facility starting this week!

I primarily use the YMCA, approximately 90% of the time, for my workouts and that's what my rating is for. Over the years of working out at the Garver YMCA, I've noticed that the equipment is only rearranged and not updated. Comparing it to the Reynoldsburg YMCA, which I understand is a newer facility, it is evident that the equipment at Garver should have been upgraded long ago. Given the smaller size of Garver's workout facility, it becomes even more crucial to keep it up to date with the latest equipment. I would love to see improvements such as new workout benches, weights, and machines. Considering the growth in our area and the increasing number of people visiting the YMCA, ensuring that the Garver YMCA is just as well-equipped as the Reynoldsburg YMCA should be a priority.
