Gym needs basic upgrades, more staff and a primary decision maker thats actually responsible for the gym. Would also help if any of the decision makers utilized the gym and engaged with the gym patrons.

The gym itself is great. What isn't great is they are closing this location. The people are helpful and friendly and the sauna always works! They need to keep this location

Somewhat mixed reviews on Google so went in to see for myself! The space itself was decently clean, Caleb showed me around then I worked out. Great amenities for the price. Wasn’t too busy and I didn’t see a single broken or unusable machine. You can get a free 2-day pass online, I recommend this just to see if it fits your needs!

Just got a family membership at this place thanks to their guy, Caleb! Caleb explained all of our membership’s details to us in a heartbeat, and made sure no questions we had went unanswered. After lifting here for a couple of days, I gotta say this place has pretty much everything a gym-goer could ever want. They treat their members very well, as there are plenty of perks to take advantage of, and they offer a way to scientifically track your progress as you grow in their gym. Highly recommend!

I have a condo in Powell and a condo in Las Vegas. When in Powell I sign up for whatever type of membership I need depending upon how long I’m in Powell. Ranges from week to month. I’ve been doing this for 6 years. After the LA Fitness in Powell closed I started going to the Polaris gym. I exercise there at least 5 days a week. My experiences at the Polaris LA Fitness have been very good. And that is because of the staff. Natalie. Caleb. Najma. And Bruce. They have been kind, helpful, and professional. I look forward to walking in and seeing one of their nice smiles and welcoming nature. My resigning up, which I have done many times, always goes without a problem. I appreciate that greatly. If one of the staff does not have an answer to a question, he/she always finds a staff member who does know the answer. I want to thank them for treating me so kindly and respectfully.
I think some of the members need to keep in mind that when they walk in the front door it would behoove them, and be a nice gesture, to say good morning or hello or some type of greeting to staff. I have been shocked by the disrespect, rudeness, and disregard shown to front desk staff this trip to Ohio. Keep in mind, if the staff were not there, members would not be able to exercise at that gym.
Thanks Natalie, Caleb, Najma, and Bruce for all you do at LA Fitness at Polaris. My trip to Ohio has been more special because of your kindness and great personalities!
I would like to add, after reading the post made by Kacey Shelton, her description of the
"boy" named Caleb, is inaccurate. He is a man, first of all, and I witnessed your interaction which was rude and disrespectful.
Caleb was explaining the rules of using a members' guest pass. You didn't like it. I have specifics about your words and behavior yet here is not the place. You were very obvious in your initial interaction with Caleb that you weren't going to like anything he said because you wanted your way. If anyone acted like a child, it was you.
As a member of LA Fitness for many years I appreciate what the employees do for all of us to keep our gym open and staffed on a daily basis. As the older adult, you should consider apologizing to Caleb and any other staff involved, for your rude and disrespectful behavior.

Unfortunately I have to give LA fitness a bad review. I was charged $54 and received nothing in return, after disputing the charge with my credit card it was ruled in my favor and then overturned and ruled in their favor. Wasn't able to make any progress over the phone either.

Yesterday I went to the gym with my husband. I went on his guest pass which is something he has had for years. Unfortunately the facility has changed ownership from LAFitness to Esporta and back to LAFitness. I personally enjoyed it most when it became a gym and was Urban Active.
It’s a shame how it’s so dirty and the experience is soo impersonal.
Anyhow the boy by the name Caleb exclaimed that because of the ownership change, my husband didn’t have the guest pass. Caleb was rude and puffed his chest at my husband saying to my husband that he wouldn’t get the last word…. I signed us up I remember what the membership was and after such a wild experience I’ll never join again. It was like being bullied by a giant toddler. Sad place that gym now and I’d recommend going elsewhere!

Been a member for almost a year. Needs some cleanliness and standards as per the way advertised.

The one thing I hated was the Help desk guy who when asked anything says “He doesn’t know”.

I recently asked him there used to be one weighing machine where is it now and his response was the same. I have seen him since last year and he doesn’t know. At least the person sitting at front desk should be aware of what’s going on. Strange!

One day few months back I remember I asked him to have body wash filled in the bathing spaces as they were almost completely out and he was like I’m not aware of what happens inside and he also replied he isn’t the cleaning person.🤣🤣. He is cool and sounds cool but sounding cool shouldn’t be criteria for the front desk attendent..

I went in the morning around 6:40am with my husband and the door was locked with a chain… we had to walk around to the other side to go in weird?? we walked in and there was no one to check us in as I am a guest. There was NOT A SOLE to check us in at the front desk. This is very unsafe. What if a crazy person walks in and does something to the members at a PRIVATE GYM.

This was outr last straw here. Whoever’s job it is to maintain the gym is doing horrible. There is never sanitation wipes, hand towels to dry, and the equipment is very dirty and ripped. Not to mention the disgusting mats they have for us to use! Unbelievable. Hate to say that we will be changing gyms as it is 5 mins from my house very disappointed

Ngl gym is close to my house so it’s cool but they should clean more everything is dusty, I’ve worked at gyms before and we were cleaning constantly, there’s always a machine out of order and the roof leaks. Bathroom normally smells which I mean it’s a bathroom so like it makes sense but still. Most workers are nice and stuff which is cool, but they asked me to give them phone numbers of people who I know who might wanna join and when I made it apparent that I didn’t want to dude couldn’t take the hint. Kinda annoying don’t mean to be a hater but cmon now. The guy who works behind the desk at night is very positive and nice I hope management gives him credit for being so cool.

This place is a joke. Me and 3 other friends went here on Saturday the 23rd thinking there was also a basketball gym. It was everyone’s first time ever going. I paid for my friend after he signed up for a “day pass”. After I paid with my card the guy at the counter says wow you guys are gonna be here all day just to work out? I say “no we’re just gonna play basketball for a few hours”. He says ohh we don’t have a basketball gym (didn’t use any resources yet) . So I ask for a refund he says ohh I can’t give you that, call again for my manager Natalie on Tuesday the 27th. Me and my friends leave having used 0 resources (in basketball attire). Sunday goes by never called. And Monday the 26th comes along so I call to see if Natalie is there just so I can get this all resolved if possible so I can have one less issue on my plate . I get confirmation over the phone that she was there so I went there in person for my refund and everybody says she’s not there! I have to leave because no one wants to call her to do my refund and she’s the only one that can do it. Okay cool! So here we gooo … Tuesday the 27th comes by and I call and ask for Natalie, Natalie is there and guess what she says. “You only have a 3 day window to get a refund so there’s nothing I can do”. I explain to her everything that has happened again and I didn’t personally fill out the day pass because I paid for my friend and she told me there’s nothing she can or will do because she’s busy. Money down the drain because no one knows what’s going on lol! This place is a joke if I could put 0 stars I would!!

Whenever i call, the manager Phoenix he keeps saying the VIP is taking a look at it and will get back to you and its been a month, no news from them. It doesnt take more than a month to return my PT session which i paid. Hence i would rate it the worst for Personal Training session return session

Came in to do a three day trial pass. First know you have to take a tour if you are going to use the three day pass. Caleb gave us a great tour.

Otherwise, the gym needs a major deep clean, major repairs to a ton of the equipment, and an update in general. It has the bones to be great but the layers of dust and grime on most equipment makes it a no go for us.

The website offers s pool for aquatic exercise. Now it is down and supposedly the natatorium is to blame for the cold temp of the pool water and not the pool heaters. I was in the room recently and the temperature
Was not uncomfortable but the water last Monday 79. If it was the air temp of the room then that should likewise be uncomfortable

It’s not, but the pool water frigid Over a period of 4 days the water temp kept dropping Why not fix an amenity that is offered on your website and stop making excuses

This location specifically is by far the worst Esporta/LA Fitness location in all of the state of Ohio. I'm only a member because it's the closest gym that's a decent price but I cannot wait til my membership is up in June 2025. This location always has a few equipments that are out of service and it takes months before those out of service equipments are back in service. There's almost always a leak somewhere. And the lightning in there is trash, it could be a lot brighter in there. I'm convinced the lights haven't been changed for at least a decade. The locker room is missing doors and hooks in the locker, it's actually embarrassing. The staff kind of does whatever, not welcoming or anything. I don't recommend this gym for those reasons.

I had a highly disappointing experience at LA Fitness Polaris with Ty Elliott, and I feel compelled to share it. As someone actively searching for a new gym home, I was excited to use the 3-day pass to test out the facility before making a commitment. Unfortunately, Ty made the entire process frustrating and unpleasant.

From the moment I walked in, he was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Instead of a warm welcome or a clear explanation of the process, I was immediately told I had to pay $20 if I wanted to work out—which contradicts the entire purpose of a free trial pass. I asked if I could work out first and do the tour later or return on another day, but that request was met with attitude.

The tour itself was unnecessarily long-winded and felt like a sales pitch rather than an effort to make me feel comfortable with the gym. When we returned to his office to go over pricing, he asked for my ID, which I didn’t have on me at the time. I politely told him it was in my car, and instead of handling it professionally, he bluntly told me I couldn’t work out without it, with zero flexibility or understanding. The way he spoke to me made it clear that customer service is not a priority here.

At that point, I was completely over it. I had already driven 30 minutes just to check out the gym, and the treatment I received made it clear that my time wasn’t valued. Instead of wasting any more energy, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I’ll be trying Lifetime, YMCA, and Planet Fitness, where I hope to receive the level of professionalism and respect that was lacking here.

LA Fitness corporate needs to take a hard look at how potential members are treated at this location. A first impression is everything, and this experience has completely turned me away from even considering an LA Fitness membership. If customer satisfaction is important, I hope someone reaches out to address this experience properly.

I feel completely misled by Esporta Fitness. I was told there was a $0 initiation fee, only to later find out that I was still being charged for it—just delayed by a year. When I questioned this, the employee acted like I didn’t understand basic math and spoke to me in a condescending way. This is dishonest business practice and terrible customer service. If $0 initiation fee actually means “you’ll be charged later,” then it’s not a $0 fee. I won’t be recommending this gym to anyone.

I have been a member of LA Fitness/Esporta (or whatever new name it adopts) since this location opened. Unfortunately, I’ve been increasingly disappointed by the lack of cleanliness and the poor upkeep of equipment, including the failure to replace broken machines.

Despite my concerns, I’ve maintained my membership simply because there isn’t another gym nearby. I’ve brought up issues like cleanliness and equipment maintenance politely to management multiple times, but nothing has changed. I was even told several years ago that the gym would undergo remodeling (around 3–4 years ago), but that never happened.

What’s most alarming is witnessing blood on the bathroom floor remain untouched for nearly two years. This level of neglect is unacceptable.

Please prioritize reinvesting in your facility and addressing these issues. Your loyal members deserve a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Every other competitor has classes, programs and amenities; I don't know what I'm paying for at this point. They really need to start up some classes/programs or they're going to continue to decline. Their PT packages are a joke.
Kickboxing, boxing, martial arts would be great and add value to the membership.

Fitness classes are great, pool is wonderful. The rest of the facilities are lacking and run down. My biggest complaint is with the management and personal training services. This club cannot hold on to a personal trainer, and I’m paying almost $400 a month without receiving the service I’m paying for. Any time I have tried to address this issue I get told someone will contact me, but they never do. I finally come in angry about it and the guy still tried to tell me he would talk to his manager after I left. I told him I would not leave until it got straightened out. He was also terrible at customer service, didn’t apologized but instead got defensive and started raising his voice back at me. It’s impossible to get anything to happen and then they act like I’m the problem. The management here is clearly awful because they can’t keep staff here and those they do have are lazy and chain of communication is broken.

Subject: Concern About Sauna Cleanliness

I am writing to express my concern about the cleanliness of the sauna, as I have noticed it is often left dirty and could pose hygiene risks to members. Maintaining a clean and sanitary sauna is crucial for the health and comfort of all users. I kindly suggest implementing more frequent cleaning and ensuring the area is properly maintained throughout the day. Thank you for addressing this issue, and I look forward to seeing improvements soon.

I want to start by saying that I am an extremely passive and non-confrontational type of Customer.

My friend and I signed up for the 3 day pass. We went and were greeted by Tyler who at first seemed very kind. My friend and I worked out and loved the gym. Tyler told us he would be sending offer emails, and to expect prices to go up by Monday, as “the gym is switching back to LA Fitness.” We saw this as a ploy to get us to sign up faster, but it didn’t deter us from joining. The plan was to use our 3 day passes and then sign up.

Tyler called me on Friday, I explained to him that I haven’t had a chance to come in, but we were very interested and I would sign up through the offer email. Later that night, I attempted to sign up with my American Express card. I received an error on the next page. I retried with my routing and account information, signed the documents, and went on with my busy weekend.

The following Monday (4/1) I walk in and attempt to give my phone number because I haven’t received a badge. To my surprise I’m not found in their system. Tyler takes me and my friend back to his office and says that he told us to sign up within the timeframe, as prices would increase. I explain to him that I had. He then asks to check my browser history, as if I’m lying. I show him, which proves I was in fact on the website and received the error and continued to re-attempt. He continued to question my search history and stated that if my search history had shown thecorrect URL that he would have been able to honor the price.

My friend and I both questioned the point of the browser history interrogation, and explained in detail exactly what happened: that I signed up, received the error, and retried, but something must have gone wrong. We asked that he please honor the price as it was a system error and not a human one. He continues to badger us, and tells me I should’ve come in if I had issues. Again, had I known the system wouldn’t process the signup, I would’ve come in; it was a complete surprise that it did not process.

This goes on for about 10 minutes. Where I feel he is completely chastising us, and accusing us of lying, and he offers the jump in price of $29.99. I tell him it’s not about the $5 difference. It is about his treatment of us. That I’m extremely uncomfortable by the confrontation, and because of his conduct, that I’m leaving and signing up for another gym. As we are walking out, he proceeds to call us clowns and walks away.

My friend and I are in disbelief. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully by a staff member, let alone a manager. All for voicing our concerns.

I am dumbfounded and chose to walk out. Again, because I don’t like confrontation.

Because he called us “clowns”, my friend asks to speak to the Gym manager who is on a phone call at the main front desk. She waits. All while Tyler is throwing a temper tantrum right there behind the front desk, in front of all the incoming customers, loudly complaining about the altercation and making snide comments about us, all the while my friend is still waiting for the manager and is standing right there, just two feet away, overhearing all of it. That it itself is unbelievably unprofessional. His manager, who is still on the phone with a customer, motioned for him to stop (multiple times), but he continued. This went on for 10 or more minutes. There were two other colleagues who were there and can attest to this behavior.

I am appalled that someone like this is in a customer service position. A gym is supposed to feel inviting, and that’s not how we felt.

Our excitement for the gym quickly dissipated. I will never sign up for a membership here as long as Tyler is working there. As a gym in such a competitive environment like Columbus, there should be more thought into who you hire and who you choose to keep on. Especially with a planet fitness right across the street.

My friend and I quickly crossed the street, signed up for planet fitness and had a great workout, contrary to how Tyler treated us.

On my first visit, I looked around mainly. It is beautiful. I need to switch gyms since the other one is jam-packed to the point where you don't get a machine you want sometimes. Here, it seems busy times vary, and you still get a good chance at machines at any given time. It's very spacious, and there appears to be more options. 3 FLOORS!
Also, certain machines I didn't see at another are here. Love the healthy vending option.
I'll upload more of the gym soon.
Please reopen the kids' center.

Btw this review so far has 800+ views!
My review for Graceland has 10k! People have told me they look at mine before considering.
Keep in mind that your experience may be different from mine.

I have been a member for about 2 years and have been taking my daughter there for the past 3 months to exercise in the pool only. She is 14 years old in the 7th grade. Today, Tyler at the front desk decides not to let us swim because she doesn't have a government ID or a school ID. School ID doesn't have age, so this makes no sense. Also, she has neither of forms of identification. Will speak with management, Marcus, to see if he can resolve this issue. If not, then I'll be canceling my membership. This issue should have been addressed before I deposited my $50 yearly fee. Seems like there is a disconnect, and I'm hoping it gets resolved asap.

Do not waste your time! 👎🏼⛔

Pros:
- Cheapest membership around (but you'll honestly get more at a place like Planet Fitness).
- Decent selection of equipment
- Suana and Pool

Con:
- Dirty
- Tempature unregulated
- Cannot retain staff
- Group training contracts yet no instructors on payroll / failure of communication for frequently canceled classes
- Pushes quantity over quality of membership

The member should always come first. For the membership price not much is expected other than a clean and suitable fitness environment. If you decide to pay extra for classes and contracts the least they can do is hold true to their obligations stated in the contract. Certainly not a home for fitness with such a lack of consistency.

Very poor experience with this gym! I bought into the personal training program in October and it became very clear by Nov 30th the gym does not have a reliable personal training program. The program changed a few weeks after I signed up and then wasn't available for hours I could attend. Trying to talk to a manager was impossible. Then ... after 6 weeks of arguing with the GM, the Regional Manager said they would refund my unused sessions that had been charged to my account erroneously bc the PT never showed for the session and cancel my last month. Did they do what they said? Again no! Their defense was I did not return the voicemail they left before the billing cycle charged my card again. Bottom line they will sign you up, take your money, and then fail to provide the service promised. They will blame everyone and another including you for what they are not able to provide.
And to add icing to the cake, the equipment provided for personal training is pathetic. Go elsewhere, Esporta does not follow thru on their word or any of their promises!

Run by high schoolers. No clear cancellation policy, will hang the phone up on you when you ask to cancel your membership. Very low value of your dollar here. Go ahead and switch to Lifetime - that is of course after you spend months trying to cancel this membership. They won’t even give you a refund for months you didn’t use their facilities. I tried to cancel for 7 months and they would not refund anything. They’re thieves.

One of the worst gyms I’ve been a member of, and I’ve been working out for 40 years. The staff is highly disengaged and spends a considerable amount of time just hanging out at The desk or playing basketball in the entrance area. The hours are the worst of any Esporta in town, and likely any other gym in town. Every other Esporta stays open until seven but this one is too cheap to pay their staff to stay past five. You can do better elsewhere.

I'll start with a positive...Jake and the young lady that open the gym at 5:00am each morning are great. They are on time, friendly and welcoming.

The gym itself has 3 main issues....
1) Cleanliness - The place is filthy. Floors, equipment, bathrooms, everything. But then again what would you expect when nobody ever cleans the place? I go pretty much every morning and can't remember the last time someone was in there cleaning.
2) Equipment - Constantly broken and takes forever to get fixed. For example, the leg extension machine is currently broken and has been for over a month now. As a previous manager told me, the business plan is to constantly repair and not replace equipment. That's fine, then have a plan in place to be able to fix equipment in a timely manner. Shouldn't be that hard as it's the same equipment needing repaired over and over.
3) Management - They are pretty much just there. They do nothing to make the gym better. When they do make changes they are terrible decisions. For example, someone decided to take all the Hammer Strength equipment and jam it into one small area. The equipment is so close it is basically touching. At times it is difficult to get inbetween equipment just to put on weights. And all this was done to create space for personal training, which 99% of your customers don't use. So great idea, inconvenience many to satisfy a few.

I have been a member at this gym for years now. Nothing ever changes and nothing ever will. While traveling for work I have been to LA Fitness/Esporta in Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, LA. NONE of them have been filthy dirty full of broken equipment. I will never understand why LA/Esporta continues to allow this site to be a dumpster fire?!?

This place is very prejudice. The general manager Jen or Jan or whatever is very racist. The older members are known to be very rude and stuck in there ways while the higher ups make excuses. They also have a thing about talking about members and staff on “the spectrum” and as an advocate for mental health and inclusiveness I was very uncomfortable. If you have the time go to Graceland or broad st.

Plus they can’t keep a personal trainer to save theirs lives. They’ve had a month turnover rate the past year so you do the math if your paying 3-5 hundred dollars for a 4 month program that doesn’t even cover the nutrition aspect of weight loss.

Loved the pool and the variety of equipment. But when I wanted to cancel my membership, it took 5+ trips in person for them to tell me every time they couldn't cancel my membership because a manager wasn't in. I was then told the only way I could cancel my membership was if I mailed something in. One of the managers said he would take care of my account. Turns out he didn't and then I got a phone call saying I owed a balance. Called in and after waiting 2+ hours for a phone call back, the guy said he could waive the fees if I joined the gym again. Then he told me that he could actually cancel my account after telling me I'd have to pay the fee. The staff was always friendly when I came in but I will definitely not join again. They need to have an option to cancel your membership on the app or online. They also bribe you for a 5 star review. They said for a Chipotle giftcard if you left a good review.

If you have any interest in viewing simple video like news or sports, you are in for serious frustration as you go from machine to machine. Be sure to not ask about possible repair schedule you will get childish runaround and then a bit of shame for asking.

Honestly, the condition of the men's locker room is unacceptable. Allow me to start by saying that I use to be a janitor at highly trafficked gym, so I know how to keep a gym and it's locker room clean.
I'm in the gym at 5am. There is absolutely no reason the locker room should look like this when I get there. Towels everywhere. Clogs of hair in the showers. Bottles, razors, bandaids in the showers. Half of which don't have locks on the door or hooks for your belongings. There are little flying bugs all over. They're just dirty. The mirrors are filthy too. And it sounds petty, but walking in to see all the locker doors open, shows that it hasn't been cleaned.
The condition of the gym itself isn't great either. Half of the towel dispensers are empty. Trash is piled up. Keep in mind, this is when the gym opens. What's it look like hours later? We all know that a gym is crawling with germs and friends alike. They should be pristine.
At the very least, the staff is nice. I'm typically greeted with a smile and always acknowledged as I'm leaving. It's also very nice that you are open so early, so thanks for that.
But please spend some time and attention on improving the condition of your establishment.
