This is the best LA Fitness in Cleveland maybe the country. The one in Westlake is cool but this one has 3 flat benches and 3 incline benches. I say it is maybe the best in the country because it used to be a Urban Active so isn't the cookie cutter ones I've seen in Rochester Philly, Jacksonville or even the one on Tiedemann rd. Only thing is they need more Olympic bars, 10's and 35's. Just went there today 9/9/25. They were installing new equipment. I didn't look to hard because they weren't done installing it but its there trust me.

10/5/2025 (Sunday, mid 60s temp and clear day) - Supposed to open at 8am this morning, but at 8:15am there's still no one there to open the doors and about 15 people outside waiting. Unacceptable when an organization doesn't abide by their own publicly posted hours! Get your stuff together!

This gym is okay, not great.

They have a good amount of cardio machines, but several of them are broken in some way. They have a good selection of barbell benches, racks, and free weights, but then the plates are always scattered around and clamps are scarce. They have a lot of weight machines, but there are torn pads and missing/broken parts. The locker room is well laid out and spacious, but then many of the lockers are broken, toilets and paper-holders are beat up.

I’ve been an avid lifter for about 15 years now and I have been going to this LA Fitness for about a year now and I can comfortably say that this franchise and location are in the absolute shitter. First and foremost, in the past year, management has completely changed THREE separate times. The gym has had the same equipment ever since its initial opening, and they invest absolutely nothing back into the gym itself.

Now I LOVE vintage and well worn gym equipment, both machines as well as free weights, but the state of half of the machines are in absolute shambles. The cable machines break every other week, the free weights are worn, the benches barely work, not to mention all of them are SCREWED into the floor, meaning you can’t adjust their positioning.

If you’re an experienced lifter, or even just an amateur, do NOT join this gym, you’re better off going to a Planet Fitness over this location. What a sad excuse for a gym.

This place sucks lol. In a beautiful area, and they think it allows them to charge more. It’s comical they want $45-$55 a month. The bathrooms are disgusting. The equipment is old and pretty limited. LA Fitness UNFAIR fee charges- be aware

My husband and I have been members of La Fitness, at the Esporta Legacy Village, Ohio, 44124, for five months now. (Since October 2024).

My husband changed job and his new employer has a different policy regarding wellness and we had to change our membership scheme.

On February 24th., even though my previous membership was still valid, We went there just to change scheme.
We were told, no problem, we will sign you again, you just have to choose your plan. We did it and  the regional manager who was training a new sales person, said you have to pay:
*initiation fee, plus
*your monthly fee plus
*your annual fee.
We were surprised to be asked to pay again initiation fee and annual fee as we were already members!
The regional manager said it doesn’t matter you have to pay again.

I personally believe that these charges are unfair, why do we have to pay initiation fee if you are already a member?
Why do you have to pay annual fee when you already paid it when you enroll for the first time?
He didn’t offer other explanation, rather than it is the way it is!
We even complaint to “customer services in writing and we were told “this is an international company and this is the policy that we follow” we cannot waive those fees, every time you change a contract you have to pay all the fees again, it doesn’t matter if you change it in the same year or just few months after.
They even dare to say, If you do not agree we can cancel you contract and you can go to a gym that doesn’t charge initiation fee! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
With those extra fees you are paying the equivalent of 4 months of membership, meaning in reality you pay 16 months on your glorious membership!!

This is the worst LA fitness I’ve ever been to and unfortunately there are not many in the area. First off, the shower stalls were filthy I stepped on old soap and body hair. Second the steam room and sauna both did t have lights, the steam room was not in service but no signs indicate that it was. Been coming to this gym for years from LA fitness to ESPORTA then back again.
It’s really been on the decline recently- locker rooms are normally filthy, locker doors always broken and never fixed, basic maintenance never upheld, 50/50 chance toilet paper is stocked.
there’s always machines that need fixed or repaired, sometimes there’s signs so you know, sometimes not.
The classes they have are always blaring their music
Sometimes you can use the replenish bar, sometimes it’s randomly closed.
Nobody ever picks up after themselves, weights and dumbbells laying all over the place.
The water fountain sometimes works, sometimes it doesn’t.
Never managed a gym before but I really believe it can’t be this complicated- especially if you’re trying to attract new members.
Why is the ESPORTA in old Brooklyn light years better than this one???

I could tell you what happened to me and the way that they treated me was so poorly. She never apologized for one of her employees that were extremely extremely rude to me. The rugs don't get vacuumed daily. The lockers have doors missing and falling off the hinges. The swimming pool doors, ceiling and towel racks are rusted. Membership is relatively cheap. ITS A 2-STAR GYM. If you don't mind dirt, filth, and older equipment, and want a cheap gym membership, this is the place for you.

Fairly inexpensive membership and has all the key equipment I need that cheaper gyms tend to lack.

Feels like this gym is horrendous if you're a woman or new to weightlifting. Literally no one puts their weights away, so the benches, racks, and other plate machines are always loaded with 200+ lbs. Dumbbells are just littered all over the place, and sometimes you have to clean up a nest of dumbbells just to use a bench. Basically, 25% of the gym is unusable for a lot of women and gym-newbies because of this.

I have been at this gym for over 5 years and it has gone completely down hill. Almost all of the machines are broken and old. I have not seen one update or improvement made since joining. Its extremely hard to stay motivated when you have to hop from machine to machine just to find one that works properly. There are safety hazards everywhere and no one seems to care. The owners of this facility need to do better. For this gym to be in legacy village it is a dump.

This is the gym if you're really about the "workout." I mean, that's what the gym is for, right? No offense to those who like a few fancy amenities. I'm "good" with this indoor track, small yet satisfying pool( it's a half lapper), racquetball room, and all the free weights and machines you can handle. They've recently closed the half court gym and put equipment there. I'm not sure why, but ok. Spinning is a must with several class options and dance if you dare, with several options for moving to the music for adults. I almost always see women. Men, where are you?? I'm sure you'd be welcome. And, there is a daycare still for those who need someone to watch the "little ones" while you get a quick workout in. I'm not a fan of the locker room smell, but I haven't been to many gyms that didn't have that. I'm a man. Is it just us ladies?? I always feel like they should never have carpet in there and should clean a little more frequently. There always seem to be a few machines out of order, but with a hefty selection, something is almost always available from what I've noticed. I can't give this gym 5 stars because it definitely needs a few "tweeks." I can say that it gets the job done if you're all about the workout. Oh, and how could I forget to mention the shakes and smoothies available near the entrance. Service is always good, and the drinks are yummy and decently priced. Overall, maybe 3.5 stars that I can personally stretch to 4, I guess. I don't think I have the half star option, and it's definitely better than 3 to me.

The instructors and classes are great and everyone is friendly. I would give five stars except for the fact the the gym is not cleaned and the locker rooms are absolutley disgusting. Paper towels and bathroom tissue everywhere, mirrors and floors are disgusting, soap is always out, and don’t get me started on the smell of the locker rooms. And I wouldn’t use the showers on a bet ~ absolutely gross. I’m surprised the owners don’t take more pride on how the club looks and the cleanliness. sad because it is a great space and facility.

Edit: for about the last month (end of March 2024 to now), the cleanliness has gotten MUCH better. Floors are clean, mirrors clean...the women's locker room should probably be tiled instead of carpeted, but at least the space is clean. Don't know what they did, but they must have listened to the customers. Also, side note: Tiarra's Saturday morning kickboxing is phenomenal. She is a ray of sunshine, make the intense, laborious workout somehow a joyful experience. Take the class...you won't regret it.

Update 11-04-21: After my review a year ago, it still looks the same. Dumbbells are awful looking, 10 lbs plates can be found and the rest are in horrible condition. Completely unacceptable!!!!! Update (04-09-24): In town visiting family, so I thought I give this location another try. It's still the worst Esporta/LA Fitness location in Cleveland, OH. The old beat up dumbbells were replaced but good luck trying to find them. There is no rule enforcement or re-racking of dumbbells or plates by anyone. It's a disaster! Missing dumbbells were found in the aerobic room, upstairs, the other side of the gym, or not found at all. SMH! Also, good luck trying to hear your music in your headphones. They leave the aerobic room doors open during classes and the music blasts at unbearable levels. I have Beats over the ear headphones and I still had to turn my volume up to high levels to try to drown out the aerobic music. Insane!!!!! Your better off going to Brooklyn or Westlake's location or Lifetime. I won't be back to this location, even though my family lives on the eastside!!!!!

The gym equipment is old, but overall ok. The part that make this place unbearable is the fitness classes on the weekend. I came in to workout, and I can't even hear the music in my headphones bc of the loud, annoying music blasting from the group fitness room. They prop the doors open, to make matters worse. The teacher of the class has her microphone up to the highest volume too, and is constantly yelling out and making annoying "whooping" sounds. It's the absolute worst experience I've had at any gym.

I have been a member of this club for the past ten years. I attend the club in Lyndhurst, Ohio. I enjoy the variety of group fitness classes. They have some amazing instructors. Some of my favorite classes are the Bootcamp with Beverlee; total body work out. She challenges you and encourages you to do work at your own pace and level. Awesome class! Zumba with Verlenia is a party!! It’s a Med/high intensity workout. Zumba with Janice and Tiara are awesome too! Tiara also teaches other formats. If you enjoy group fitness, this is the place to be! Fun classes!

Midwestern values all the way. Coming in from Las Vegas, I needed a new gym. I arrived at the Esporta Fitness Lyndhurst, And at the front desk I was welcomed into the club, with a friendly smile, and a professional attitude. I asked for and received a tour of the facilities by the knowledgeable GM Arthur, after my tour I then met Conor, the personal trainer who was on duty, clearly knows what he’s doing as a personal trainer, he seems well suited for the position. Really it’s such a convenient location at Legacy Village with tons of parking easy access, so yeah of course I joined! The crew at this gym is amazing, the gym itself is huge, two floors, tons of machines and a entire floor of cardio, lots of classes, plus a smoothie bar and an Olympic sized pool!

I joined Esporta in December of 2023 and for the most part, I enjoy working out at the Lyndhurst location. I think the staff member are friendly and the environment is welcoming but the cleanliness of the ladies locker room from December 20, 2023 - March 17, 24 wasn’t the best. Since March 18, 2024 a new cleaner by the name of Miss Amari has done an amazing job of keeping both the women’s locker room and the equipment clean. She is friendly and is doing an amazing job!

Lastly, recently the mat was taken out of the dark room and placed into the old basketball court room. Can the mat be added back into the dark room? I dislike people watching me struggle to complete my ab workouts in the other room. I know this is a personal request but it was peaceful in the dark room.

This is honestly a horrible gym with tons of unhappy members. The ONLY reason people come is because it has a sauna and steam room. As of now, 12 treadmills (that I've actually tried to use) are either broken or dysfunctional and 1 of the cables is broken (which happens very often). The gym already closes early. NOW they've started closing the sauna and steam room 30 minutes early at 9:30 p.m. The gym itself is just dirty. There aren't any paper towels unless you go to the restroom upstairs, the wipes to clean equipment is always empty, you'll see the same stains on the same equipment for days to weeks. If you dont see stains, you see actual trash. I'm really considering canceling my membership. I'd rather go to Planet fitness or pay double or triple at Lifetime. Idk if corporate will do anything, but I'll definitely be in touch with them.

Not impressed at all by this gym 👎🏽.. to begin with, the bathroom toilets are filthy, there is never any soap. They leave a ceiling fan on packed with dirt and debris, which according to the janitor has not been cleaned in months. Half of the treadmills are broken. The staff members are very unprofessional and offer little to no help when it comes to requests.. While getting in the steam room I was poked by an outgrown screw due to a broken bench, after taking the front desk they never fixed it. I was also swindled into and membership under the false pretense that I could train my clients.. This place is horrible for its location and I wonder where our monthly dues are going since none of it is apparently being invested to upkeep the facility..

This spot can be much better than it is. I been her since it was Urban Active, La Fitness. The only thing I see that needs to be improved is the locker room should have tile floors not carpet. After awhile moisture makes it smell like Mildew. It’s a little dusty, it needs to have more tender loving care, and the machines needs updated a little. The Brooklyn gym I been to once. It’s beautiful. Lyndhurst one should be even better than that. Please get it back together like it use to be. I been here too long and I wanted to speak up.

I joined ESPORTA looking to be dedicated to my weight loss journey I was greeted.by Kaylen and DJ they were amazon DJ literally sign up 3 people at the same time having all of us feel like we were his priority! They both smile and greet us daily DJ even let me know he appreciates my dedication by coming daily it really made me happy after a long day of work. Gym closes 15 mins before stated closing time and closing staff was very rude to me. Tell staff they have to stay and work until 10 mins after closing so they don’t kick people out early. Ruined several of my workouts. Also old men in the sauna completely naked with no towels. GROSS!

Love this Gym!! I’m home for the holidays and had no idea where to go to stay on routine, and ESporta did not disappoint! Wide open space, clean, and rarely crowded especially in the mornings. Hello, I have a lengthy but SPECIFIC story to share about Esporta fitness (South Euclid):

First off, I would like to give Curtis Sims a big shout out. Curtis is the director of personal training at Esporta Fitness in South Euclid Ohio. I initially signed up for personal training 6 months ago (July 2023) — Curtis was great then and deserved a google review at that time. Nonetheless, I recently had a total knee replacement 2 weeks ago. Curtis was pivotal in keeping me informed as he spoke with both upper management & I several times regarding placing my personal training fees on hold.

Secondly, Matthew Wenzel, the district manager of all Cleveland & Toledo, OH clubs was involved in the whole ordeal of trying to get my personal training memebership paused as my surgeon requested that I not participate in further personal training for 2 months post surgery. I had 4 encounters with Matthew at the South Euclid location and none of them were successful until I got Curtis involved. Encounters were as follows:

1. I spoke with Matthew over the phone (12/6/2023)

2. I spoke with Matt by phone again (12/11/23)

3. After having my total knee replacement surgery, on 12/12/23, I had to visit the Esporta club with my son to assist me and speak to Matt in person (12/15/23)

4. I once again visited the club on 12/19/23 (as I had still not received any email or notification that my personal training account had been paused) and at this time I spoke with Curtis — within two hours. The issue was resolved with an email to verify.

I understand this review/message is quite lengthy, but I want to bring specific light to the good and bad behaviors of specific individuals associated with this club.

Once again, huge shoutout to Curtis Sims. He truly does care and wants the best for all of his clientele. For anyone who is looking for personal training, I would highly suggest going into Esporta at Legacy Village, and speaking with Curtis — you will not be disappointed. Happy 2024 new year to all!

Absolutely love this gym! The spacious layout is a game-changer – no waiting for equipment even during rush hours.
There are so many added perks like the sauna, pool, even a cardio/stretching room inside a movie theater. It makes me feel as though I’m in a luxury gym for quarter the cost!
The women’s only lifting room is a thoughtful feature as well. Plus, the basketball and pickleball courts and the track provide a variety of workout options especially for the days I want to switch my fitness routine up.
Esporta exceeded my expectations!!! Highly recommend. worth every penny. (and the workers are super friendly!)

This gym has so much potential but it doesn't seem like corporate puts a dime into it. More than half the treadmills either don't work or have a loose tread and they need to rip up all the old nasty carpet, especially in the locker room.
Update: Just went to work out and no one was there still 15 minutes after they’re supposed to open and last time I was there, even more treadmills were not working and half the wipe dispensers were empty. This place has zero pride.

I’d rate a 0 if I could. I normally go to the location in Brooklyn but I was in town today and decided to stop at this location and honestly I wish I never have, I should’ve taken the 30 minute drive and went to my original esporta. This gym is absolutely horrid. As soon as you walk in you get smacked in the face with a terrible smell. The women’s locker room looks/smells worse than a zoo. Every stall was dirty, the mirrors are dirty, the amount of weights that were all over the floor, there was a stall with a broken toilet seat and part of the seat was in the toilet. The toilet seats are yellow. There’s stuff splattered all over the stall walls. I took a shower and the drains smell like urine. When I went to go do leg extensions the machine it was busted. I walked around the gym to see if they had a stretching station, I seen none. I go up to the front desk and ask politely if they have a stretching area. I get told “ no we have random mats all over the ground and that’s where people stretch”. I’m confused on why there is no stretching area?
On top of everything the sauna wasn’t warm at all. There’s a big gap on top of the door that’s letting out the heat. Biggest waste of 30 minutes in my life.
