We’ve been a loyal members of this gym chain for years, but it seems as though - ever since many of the other locations were bought out, this particular branch has gone completely downhill. What used to be a clean, reliable, and well-managed environment has now become overcrowded, understaffed, and honestly unhygienic.
Today’s experience was the final straw. The sauna — a place meant for relaxation and wellness — was in an unacceptable state. The bench was visibly dirty, the floor tiles were stained and grimy, and it genuinely looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. I was entirely hesitant to sit down because I didn’t know what kind of germs or bacteria I’d be exposing myself. So much for our membership fees, the bare minimum I’d say, should be daily cleaning and basic sanitation of shared spaces.
No one seems to be monitoring the cleanliness of the locker rooms or spa areas anymore, and it shows. Members deserve better than this—especially those of us who have supported this chain for years. Today was deeply disappointing.

Just left the gym and went immediately to review in order to bring attention to the lack of cleanliness especially in the locker room. I quickly noticed I am NOT the first and definitely NOT the only one who has notified you of this!! The woman’s bathroom is either out of toilet paper, paper towels or Soap- or ALL THREE! I have seen wadded up toilet paper in floor as well as FOOD wrappers?!?!? The stalls literally smell and I’m assuming it is from the feminine waste cans not being emptied. How can the entire gym be remodeled but the bathroom are LESS than basic health code standards???? PLEASE ADDRESS and let us members know WHAT is actively being done for these negative reviews AND PHOTOS that are shared!!

The only reason I had a membership was because of the basketball court. I really don’t understand why they got rid of it considering other gyms don’t have one and it made them stand out and be unique. I almost renewed my membership because on the website it says they have a basketball court now. If not for my friend who has a membership telling me they don’t. I would’ve wasted my money. I really don’t understand why they got rid of the court but I really think they should consider making a new on.

Absolute dump. Hot water has been broken for 3 weeks now, so you can't even shower after your workout. Every single day they keep claiming "it's scheduled to be repaired tonight." I'm quitting tomorrow morning and joining another gym, but I want to warn others not to make the same mistake by joining this totally crap place where all they care about is taking your money. The "specials" that they offer are full of deceptive trade practices that shield the real price that you'll pay. STAY AWAY!!!!

Equipment is great and they have a lot of different machines so the workout part of a workout is nice but man the locker room and more specifically the showers have a lot of room to improve. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. No hot water as of last week. This has occurred multiple times in the past year. MULTIPLE LIGHTS OUT IN THE POOL AREA. LIGHT OUT IN THE MEN'S BATHROOM FOR OVER A YEAR. Since they do not complete normal maintenance, it will take about 6 weeks for them to fix. The the Hot tub is also down. Update 9/10/25

Multiple months later since last review and still no improvement! Hot water is gone again, 3+ days in the still don't have an update or estimate on what is even wrong. Should be getting a discount on membership at this point. Locker rooms are still not very clean. Wish they would remove the water bottle filling stations because if you are filling up your 64 oz water bottle you think you would be sweating and actively working out but no just leisurely on your phone paying zero attention and not doing anything! 👎👎👎

Still no improvement here months later, photos uploaded this time around. Showers are not draining, still smells in shower area as well, both have to be a health violation. Then using a tarp with a water hose is the permanent solution for the leaking roof? Really??? Hope they have good attorneys on speed dial when something collapses and injures someone!

Freshly remodeled gym with all brand new equipment, treadmills, bicycle, cross trainer and cable tension machines. But that is where the good part of the review ends. The amenities appear nice until you actually use the gym. Locker rooms have same old smelly lockers just now without the musty old carpet. Now just tile floors that dirt and dust bunnies constantly float on. Zero proper ventilation in shower area causing a cesspool. Showers have mold everywhere, rotten egg/manure smell, count on a cold water shower if more then 2 people are getting a shower at the same time. Health dept will be contacted if things are not addressed in a timely manner. Ever since the Bridgewater location closed this location is extremely busy at all times of the day, parking lot is literally full, cardio machines are full and a line to use some machines. Why replace the old machines that there was 3 or 4 with now 1 or 2 and wonder why they are always busy? Who is running this gym/company? Also to you people that sit on your phone and not doing the machine, do it or MOVE! What is going to happen on the first of the year?? Are they going to expand the parking lot and add more machines to keep up with the influx of people coming in? Utterly ridiculous how fast these gyms are going downhill. Without drastic improvements it will also become a furniture store like Bridgewater before you know it!

I just joined this gym back in March, but my experience thus far has been amazing!! The Operations Manager Paul as well as management team Nick and Dustin always stop me to say hello and ask how I am. I have the training program as a part of my membership. My trainer Matt is so awesome and is giving me the greatest gift, my health back!! I am very grateful to all of them. If I could I would rate them 10/10. Love them so much!+

There is almost never soap at any sink. Paper towels are often gone and trash cans are regularly overflowing. Edit Aug 2025. It has gotten worse! Still rarely paper towels or soap, trash still consistently overflowing. But now it is filthy dirty. Mold in showers and shower curtains. Trash everywhere. Hot tub water is gray and murky.

Beware! This gym is SO hot and there is ZERO airflow. Since joining I’ve never been sick so often! People complain to staff constantly about how hot it is and they act like they don’t know what you’re talking about. The new remodeled basketball gym is nice but it has no heating or air so it’s either 100 degrees or 5, and again NO airflow. This gym isn’t just super unpleasant to workout in. It’s a dangerous petri dish!

I’m reaching out to express my frustration regarding the repeated inconvenience caused by your club not opening on time.

Today, once again, a group of members — including myself — waited outside for almost an hour and a half, even though Google Maps and other platforms showed the gym as open. The doors remained closed, with no notice, explanation, or staff communication. This is not the first time this has happened, and it’s becoming incredibly frustrating.

As paying members, we rely on accurate hours and expect a basic level of professionalism and communication. Repeatedly wasting people’s time like this shows a clear disregard for your members’ schedules and commitment.

Please address this issue seriously. Update your hours across all platforms, and ensure that your facilities open on time or at least provide timely notices if there are changes.

This place has come a long way from where it had been a few years ago in terms of the vibe inside the club. The staff has always been positive and welcoming. The biggest thing has been the re-emphasis on fitness and athleticism. They redid the entrance area for warm ups, aerobics, and personal training - that was key. They upgraded the machines and dispensed of some outdated equipment and they reorganized the machines. Most recently they converted the basketball court, which didn't really fit the aesthetic, into an area for advanced lifting. The final improvement that still needs to be made is with the staff on the floor. Ideally, people would just police themselves, and most do, but there are still too many members that monopolize the equipment and zone out on their cell phones which slows things down and destroys the vibe. Generally speaking, L. A. Fitness is a great business and a terrific value.

The gym is decent overall — it has good equipment, it’s fairly clean, and you can get a solid workout in. However, the biggest issue is the heat. They don’t turn on the AC, and during peak hours it gets uncomfortably hot. If they fixed the AC issue, the gym would be much better.

Consistently late opening. It doesn’t matter if it is during the week or on the weekends. Management does nothing to address the issue, meaning they are part of the problem. Why would ownership invest so much money into a renovation, and then let the gym slide back downhill? In addition to the frequency of employees not opening the gym on time, it is often dirty and unkempt.

Avery was very disrespectful and don’t know how to handle customer. She should not be staying in front desk if she doesn’t know how to deal with customers. We had a very disappointing experience due to the blatant disrespect shown toward us. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with an unprofessional and dismissive attitude. Our concerns were brushed off, and any questions we asked were met with impatience and rudeness. It felt as though our presence was an inconvenience rather than being valued customers. Respect and basic courtesy should be the minimum standard in any interaction, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to anyone expecting to be treated with dignity.

This is bitter but very true, they’re promoting free skims trying to get more members to join the gym but often very important and essential common things are ignored:
(1).The gym facility should be well maintained including filling up supplies in locker rooms and bathrooms the wipes towels and water filters replacements on time.
(2). Fixed the broken plumbing and proper cleaning in bathrooms and toilets time to time.
The Bathroom for Handicap members is a argent issue in bathroom shower head broken from last more than four weeks and its totally down need to fix immediately.
(3). Proper and designated areas needs proper Floor Mats at for wiping feet.
(4). Instead the Manager all time seating in front chair takes certain trips in the facility, lockers, drinking water fountains filters, bathrooms and toilets inspecting the things working okay including Hot Water in the Bathrooms.
(5). Wall Clock:
Men’s locker area missing wall clock after the renewal lockers area it’s very important and essential to watch the time, needs to have Wall Clock.
The existing wall Clocks never shows the correct Time it should be adjusted time to time.
This is the Key to attracting new customers Quality Assurance and maintaining good customer service will bloom the Gym and current members will bring new customers.
Hope someone read this message it’s very important to apply.

The manager is very irresponsible today very cold water and have no signs in locker area or entrance of the shower rooms many members including me waited for more than 25 minutes to get hot water and that what happened before when I called the office manager he said I put the sign on the front desk wich is not visible.
Need good maintenance, good service and working manager.
Very disappointed.
Today March 3,2025 at 12:05pm I called three times to find out “They Fixed For Hot Issue ” hot water problem fixed but no one answered. This manager is very poorest customer service too.

Only real downsides to here after the remodel is it's REALLLLLLY crowded between the hours of 430-7pm. Also the men's bathroom roof is leaking by the sauna. But when it comes to the equipment and floor layout, it's A+ since the remodel. Personally, them turning the bball court into a rack room with plenty of Olympic bars and plates was the best part and kept me coming back. Could use another Smith machine though.

They do not open 5am. It's whenever an employee decides to get there to unlock the door, then we have to stand at the front dest to wait for them start up there system to sign in. The older lady is on time to open but when she is not there it varies when the doors open. People having to wait till 6:15 to get in is ridiculous.

I went in when someone came out to get her name and she wasn’t at the desk so I patiently waited, she walking up to the desk and about 20 feet away she yells at me what are you doing in here!!! Everyone in the gym heard her! I said I want your name and managers name. I’m not giving you my name you’re not supposed to even be in here!!!
I said I have the right to ask you for your name…and what do you mean I’m not supposed to be in here my friends are still working out! She said I don’t care who you are or how long you have been with this company nationwide!! Things have changed around here!! I asked since when?! The young lady was the closer on the night of 4/1/2025!
Her boyfriend was waiting for so it seems he was taking he side. I have went to this companies club all over the country and The United States of America 🇺🇸 pays for military all military service men and women’s memberships! I paid additional to be able to bring 2 visitors $300!
This employee totally disrespected my as a customer and totally handled the situation without any regard whatsoever that she is working and representing LA Fitness/Esporta or the main corporations that employ her.
I request that the employee be terminated immediately!! I want a written statement put on the door of apology to me for a month plus. I want a check for $300 written to Robert McGeorge for the extra that I paid to be able to bring 2 visitors each time I come and not lose what I paid for!

If you like to workout early in the morning, do not spend your money here. I had only been a member for 4 months and in that span of time, there were at least 4 days where I showed up to the gym, only to be forced to turn around and go home because the gym didn't open on time. Keep in mind, I also didn't try go every day so my guess is that there were probably at least 3 or 4 other times where this happened, and I just happened to be at home that day. The facility has been upgraded with good equipment, but the management of the facility is poor.

Nice job on the Fairfield (Tylersville Rd) glow up! Good value for the price. But very disappointed with the closing of 3 of the larger facilities that had more amenities in West Chester (Union Town Ctr), Montgomery, and Symmes. The remaining locations are now overcrowded, and during prime hours there's almost always a wait for popular machines. That could be remedied in part by extending hours, especially on the weekends. Also, the photos are somewhat misleading. They appear to be from the much larger Symmes facility, which is now closed.

I can’t believe they spent millions of $$$$ and the place already looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. Pleeeeaaase hire people or companies to keep up with the cleanliness of the gym. This place just continues to go down hill. They switched to really cheap paper towels that are like toilet paper, the dispensers are always out of them anyway. Constantly out of soap in the mens locker room, always out of disinfectant spray, etc.

Edit after remodel that nobody really needed:

Top down mismanagement, new equipment with the SAME problems. Constantly out of soap, out of terrible wet wipes, only TWO leg extensions and ONE leg curl which was a HUGE problem they just didn’t fix. Its clear why every other location has closed, you don’t listen to your members at all.

I’m so happy about the remodeled gym floor but the bathrooms are DISGUSTING. No matter the time of day they look like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. Terrible smell, overflowing trash cans, no TP or paper towel left (9am on a Monday), absolutely nasty floors, and I can’t even use the restrooms they have stains and smell terrible. They just recently remodeled the gym
and put in all new equipment. I didn't see one old piece of equipment in there today. The staff are very nice on the way in and out. I've been working out there only a couple times as a guest, but when I saw it today I immediately wanted to throw down for a membership. I love this place. Thank you!

The gym is remodeled. Basketball court is removed and transformed into free weight section. There are now 10 squat rackets. 10 of them!! Whole bunch of new cable machines too! Never have to wait in line again!! Also the Machine for hip thrust! This is amazing!!

While I understand there is complexity with keeping a swimming pool running and safe for users, I literally called the gym before arriving and asked the receptionist, "Is the pool open for use?" They were just closed for a remodel so I wanted to ensure the pool wasn't on a different timeline of opening as the rest of the gym. The receptionist gave me a confident, "Yes." I arrive 15 minutes later and the pool is closed and had been the last two days.

I triple checked to make sure I had the correct phone number. This is extremely infuriating!

This gym could use a serious face lift. They closed the really nice gym that was clean, with nice treadmills only to leave us with this one.
The hot tub is disgusting! It is old, peeling and full of suds. The pool doesn't appear to have enough chlorine to keep bacteria out. One day a woman was fully clothed in street clothing, swimming in the pool.
The staff sit around on their phones and no one is cleaning the equipment or locker rooms.
It's just icky. Esporta can do much better.

If you are looking for a gym for the new year, DO NOT JOIN! They routinely do not open on time for various reasons and there has been no change. Whether the key wasn’t put back for the opener, the worker sleeping in, ect. Instead of investing a new way to open (electronically) they decided that putting in a dozen new tv’s were more important. A very poorly managed operation and it shows, there are at least a dozen regular members that are planning on leaving after the latest rounds of late openings….as a follow up to my previous review from a month ago…it is 5:43 and still not open, absolutely terrible. They should legitimately think about offering a discount or free month given the amount of times they open late

needs a lot of work, they're closing down the basketball court to open up an expanded free-weight area which is great, but there's paint peeling all around the pool area, crickets found often around the pool deck as well, Plates aren't put away and a ton of unnecessary plates found on the green area that clutter it up. It's hard enough to get up at 4:30 am to go to the gym. But it's now 5:16 am, and not an employee in sight. This is a consistent them. Add insult to injury they closed just about all other locations. Now they are shutting this location down for 10 days. Had they done this with Fairfield still open, it wouldn't be a problem. But the closest location is 30 minutes away, so I the paying customer would have to wake up at 4 am. Unacceptable

I have been a member at this location since the day it opened years ago. Over that time, I have seen the good and the bad, mostly influenced by who the current manager was at the time. There has been a steady decline the last year or two, but the last few months have been horrendous.

What do I mean? The cleanliness is appalling, much of the equipment is in disrepair, and the crowding is way up due to other Esporta/LaFitness locations in the area closing. Last week the place was over three hours late unlocking the front door in the morning. The spinning room has been unbearably hot, so much that it is dangerous for many of us to even attend a spinning class (and don't tell me the AC is maxed out, I have seen it work fine on plenty of hotter days in years past). This morning I walked in and the "receptionist" had her head on the desk, barely awake.

I hate to leave a bad review, as I really want this place to survive. But the reality is that this location is eating itself alive, which is unfortunate for all of us.

Was a good gym for the price, but cancelling the membership was a hassle. We went in person and was told the manager was not in, so we had to cancel via email. We then got a call that said we had to come back in person. After that we finally were able to cancel a few days later. Hi, my name is Rodriguis Hampton and I’ve been a member of LA Fitness now Esporta for a long time now and I must say I have had enough of the spin class being super hot. Really hot. There were fans in the classroom but even then there was only a few, well those have vanished and now it’s just extremely hot. I’m in the spin class at 5:45am on Monday and Wednesdays and it’s horribly hot. I pay good money to be a member of this gym and even supported you guys during Covid. It’s sad that out of all the areas in the gym, the spin class in the only one without AC. It’s ridiculous and pretty embarrassing. Especially in West Chester!

Just wanted to post this update as of 8-19-2024. After I wrote this review a month ago, I was excited to know that the AC in the spin class in Dudley ESPORTA spin class was fixed. Thank you ESPORTA for reading and addressing my concern. This truly show that you all respect your customers and their experience! My spin experience today was awesome!!

This wasn't the best esporta in the area, but since they closed the other two, it has gotten much, much worse. It is always overcrowded. You always have to wait for equipment.. You even have to wait in a line of five people for the drinking fountain. They try to keep it clean, but no one puts away their equipment when they are done using it. Trip hazards everywhere. Broken equipment... No clocks on the walls, not even in the pool or outside the sauna, where it is really needed. They tell you to take your phone into the sauna... But you really shouldn't put a lithium battery into that kind of environment. I could go on and on. Bottom line, they don't care about their customers.

It is awful! Stay away from esporta/LaFitness.

I was there for yoga today. The yoga room has no working air conditioning. This has not worked right for months. The lights in the yoga can not be turned off without a manager doing it. Several of us ask that the lights be turned off today but it never got done. When I left I ask the manager (first day on the job) why they didn’t get turned off. He acted as if no one had ask them to be turned off. For a manager I was not impressed. By the way he is not brand new. He came from another ESPORTA gym.

Today, 7/22 arrived at 6am to see a bunch of cars in the parking lot, all with lights on. Think to myself, well this isn't a good sign. It's not 6:45 am and still not unlocked!!! I've been a member here for 12 years or more as it's been various named fitness clubs. Over that time I picked up many nuggets of information on lifting correctly positive encouragement, and friendly advice from the staff. I've see many people I thought improperly lifting and even some of those with trainers who didn't seem to care. I hit a plateau a few years ago, and had the opportunity to workout with a personal trainer. I expected the same shabby results these other people were getting, and poor diet plan that I wouldn't follow.
I was Amazed that the trainer I worked out with was opposite of those, things she was knowledgeable and experienced, knew the value of proper form over heavy weights .. deciphered broke apart and upgraded my personal workout regime, and built me a Excellent diet plan focusing on keeping the foods I enjoyed in moderation throughout the plan.......... NOW I'm getting better results than I've gotten in a long time I'm building muscle, and burning the flab maintaining, and building! I can't thank Jordan enough for her simple direction and suggestions that were easy to apply to my routine and life... I implore anybody to reach out to her Specifically because she's knowledgeable she's been in my shoes and Knows how to help get you the results that matter to you, and without feeling uncomfortable by the program....Thanks Jordan for taking the time with me and others trainers get a bad image , but with you their image can be reshaped molded and transformed by your knowledgeable guidance to help give the customers results that matter!

I have been a member for almost 15 years. I have always enjoyed the classes. Especially Zumba. I don’t know who made the decision that it makes sense to keep the air conditioning off when there are no classes going on in the classroom but now that the temperature has gotten warmer the classroom gets very humid and the floor is getting very sticky. I worry that I will injure my knees trying to do Zumba. I really would like to continue coming to Esporta but thinking it may be time to look at other gyms in the area!

Very easy things to fix that they just don’t:

-They have 6 bench racks but only 3 barbells. Whenever I’ve asked how long until they will order more, the workers just grin and smirk at me saying “Oh I don’t know”. It’s been like this for 3+ months

-The music sometime glitches to the point where there’s just a loud buzzing noise coming from speakers and it will be literal days before someone even bothers to turn it off

-They have no 7.5 or 12 lb dumbbells

-They only have one rope for cable machines and it’s completely frayed

-they have one single sanitation wipe station for the whole gym

-instead of standalone benches that can be adjusted to be flat or elevated, they have ones that cannot be adjusted, contributing to their shortage.

-The drinking fountain filter light has reached red multiple times

-they only have 2 v grips for their cable machines and one is broken

Preface: this is a bad review for esporta in general, not this location specifically.

I've been coming here for over a year and generally have a good time. Recently, esporta closed the location at route 4 up the highway from this one and the last location in the vicinity to this one. Effectively this doubled the number of people at my location. To start, there was barely enough equipment for the people that came before the other one closed, now it's nearly impossible to find a piece of equipment you need. You'll wait 10 minutes for a bench on a regular day let alone a busy one. Not to mention the attachments for the cables. People are having to buy their own to bring and then waiting 10 minutes for a cable to open up. Then there's the insufficient AC. It's always hot in here and so much so that it's pretty unbearable when it's warm outside too.

You'd think with the other one closing, they'd make sure there was enough equipment at this location for the influx of members. I'm really disappointed with the decline since I've been here over a year. I love the people but really disappointed in esporta's management.

This place sucks. The only reason i got a pass here over other places is because the basketball court. Idk If coach carter works here and somebody needs to get their grades up but the basketball court always has a padlock and chain on it. Its been close all week for repairs but nothing is being repaired, which leads me to my next criticism.

Nothing ever gets repaired or replace. There an elliptical that been broken for months. The wet dryer sheet dispensers are always out.

One plus is that if you have a kid there is a daycare. I don't think i ever seen it open but its there.

I have been here for around 2-3 years.

Paying around $40 + tax per month, yet it is poorly managed. Water fountain has been on the red twice this year so far, showers seem to run out of shampoo, bathrooms would not have paper towels.

I have never ever been to a gym where the water fountain's filter hit the red.

When I first came here, I enjoyed the amenities and never had an issue with the gym, but the quality of life has been going downhill since 2023.

Reminder that Crunch charges 30 a month for a member with unlimited guests.

This was my first time coming here , cause I’m traveling for work. By far the worst LAF/ Partner Gym ive ever been too.

Water in the showers mad cold( No hot water, testes multiple showers)

No hand soaps dispensers on some and the very few that had any empty. Floors are dirty like if they don’t have a cleaning crew or something. Specially the front has mas stains when you walk in. A lot of rust everywhere that has metal.

Wall bubbling up like id water is leaking from the walls or something. Drywall in corners almost to the metal frame.

Hot tub flooring and sitting area needs redone, it’s extremely rough.

I've been going here for two years, 3 times a week. There is a good variety of machines and equipment and I've never seen it so full that people have to use a time limit so others have a turn.
However, this location is always out of hand sanitizer and wipes. I've noticed that the floors rarely get vacuumed, as shown by the same things on the floor every time I get on a machine. Before the winter, I swam laps every Sunday and there was a corner of trash, hair and dirt that was never cleaned, even after weeks.
The staff is friendly enough but the facility is gross and I have to make sure to use hand sanitizer in the car and shower when I'm home to feel clean.
