Amazing place! The palace of gyms! Caring, attentive staff. Phenomenal facility. Very clean. Classes are great!

Gym is no where near worth $280 a month for a family of 3 they are going to price their self out a competition.

I came here to try it out, and was aware that the cost of a day pass ($57) was obviously exorbitant compared to other gyms, but I wanted to see what they had to offer.

The front desk staff was quite rude and very unwelcoming and most of the other staff I saw throughout the gym were sitting and conversing with each other or on their phones.

I was extremely surprised by how outdated all of the equipment was. It was also absolutely filthy. They had a class going in the middle of the weight area, which is fine, but it was ridiculously loud. I had my noise suppression headphones up full blast and I still couldn’t drown out the noise.

If I had a good experience I would have considered joining, but this place was completely underwhelming, especially compared to other gyms in northeast Ohio. For this being considered a premium priced gym, I was expecting it to be clean, updated and staffed with friendly employees which wasn’t the case at all.

Just joined Lifetime Beachwood. Imagine my surprise when they charge 14 percent more than the $179 monthly price? FEES of 14% without any itemization is just bad business. Tax should be 8% max. Just raise your rate and be honest. Shame on you

Not surprised by the current rating, the gym isn’t what it used to be. I was a member for almost 10 years and watched the steady decline in customer service, equipment deteriorating, all while prices continue to rise. Sure aesthetically it’s an attractive place, but that’s surface level lure, once you’re in you realize it’s a gimmick. The staff is snobby, rude, inconsiderate and off putting most days. Energy is everything and this place doesn’t have a good vibe, at all.

Joined a year ago for $220 a month for two people. Now, a year later, the rate is $260 a month. This location has no business charging this much. The Stairmasters near the weight-lifting area are crusty, old, and barely work. For the ones that do work, you have to push the touchscreen buttons multiple times for them to register. The treadmills are nice but poorly cleaned—if you look inside the holes below the screens, they’re filled with dust. There’s a special GTX open workout area that plays extremely loud music during classes—and since the workout space is open, the entire workout floor has to listen to the loud music. The gym doesn’t provide basketballs for the basketball court—you’d think for $260 a month that they’d be willing to do that. I’ve been to the location in Schaumburg, IL, and it’s so much nicer and cleaner than this Beachwood facility. Plus, the equipment in Schaumburg is newer, and within the past couple of months I received a push notification that the Schaumburg location is upgrading its equipment.

I strongly advise avoiding this gym due to multiple issues with billing and poor customer service. I was charged $650 in addition to my monthly $200+ membership fees without any explanation. Trying to resolve the issue has been incredibly frustrating, something I would expect from a discount gym like Planet fitness, not a luxury organization charging $200+ per month

Reaching someone from their membership staff has been nearly impossible - calls and messages go unanswered for several days and there is little to no back and forth conversation or accountability. When I have reached front desk Staff to ask for help with billing they are rude and have an unhelpful and entitled attitude.

For example when I called today to follow up when my call wasn’t returned from earlier in the day…’we know who you are and someone will contact you back when they are available, you don’t need to keep calling’ was the response I received.

No cold plunge ..

Drove 45 mins bc google specifically said the beechwood location has a cold plunge.

A. Any decent gym as a cold plunge in 2025

B. Any decent gym is on the same page with Google in 2025.

** when asking a staff member they claimed i searched the wrong gym. After pulling my phone out and showing searched results. The answered changed... to "well, we have the capability "

Very nice gym. Quite dated though. 3* because the staff will literally talk down to you like they're not desk clerks lol. Not the most serious gym. More of a place for people to socialize and kinda work out. When I asked if they had preworkout, they looked at me like I was a savage. Maybe I'm spoiled by my home gym. I just felt like I was being talked down to for asking if they had things every other gym has. No tanning, no real massage beds, no good energy drinks, no decent water fountains. They said they don't have those things because they're unhealthy, but offer you other unhealthy alternatives lol. Def more of a day club than a gym for people. If you lift heavy you're for sure in the wrong place.

Too many children.
Old entitled people.
Too crowded. All the time too crowded.
Creepy old men stalking the gym equipment.
Can’t enjoy the pool because there’s too many kids.
$130 membership fee for one person/ month. $200 for two people/ month.
The GM Michael Thorsten is too rude and too young to be in that position.
There’s nothing good about his gym.
It’s the daycare of Beachwood.
You can go to 3 other gyms for the price of this one.
Old equipment that has never been replaced.
ZERO STARS!!!!!!!

I was a member years ago and decided to come back. Its clean, roomy and have alot of nice equipment. I come and do my thing and I'm out! I'm basically here because i love swimming all year long and love the hottub and steam room. Water theraphy is good for you! You can't beat it! The pool outside in the summer is the bonus! It's fitness paradise, lol.

I had the pleasure of being serviced here and I am very impressed. The hairstylist, Doris is absolutely amazing! She is very professional, as well as knowledgeable. As she treated and styled my hair, she enlightened me along the way. She allowed me to feel not only comfortable, but welcomed as well. She skillfully restored the health and beauty of my hair. After having such damaged hair prior to Doris, I am elated with the results. I'm so happy and relieved to have finally found my new hair salon. The outstanding quality and remarkable service that I received has given me motivation to recommend this stylist to any person searching for hair services. Thank you very much, and I will be back soon’

I initially got this membership because of the quality exercise equipment and the cleanliness of the facility. However, I’ve noticed mold growing above the treadmills upstairs and have reported it to employees multiple times. Unfortunately, not only has it not been addressed, but it has also continued to grow over the past few months. As a paying member, I expect the facility to be maintained to high cleanliness standards, especially considering the cost of membership. It’s frustrating to see this issue go unresolved, and I hope it is taken care of soon.

Front Desk Review: I can't say enough good things about Skylar, who works the front desk at Lifetime Fitness. Every time I walk in, she greets me with a friendly smile and a welcoming attitude. Skylar is incredibly approachable and always ready to assist with any questions or concerns.

What impresses me most is her knowledge of the facility's rules and her ability to enforce them without ever being rude. She strikes the perfect balance between ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment and making everyone feel comfortable and respected.

Skylar is truly a trustworthy and reliable presence at the front desk, and her positive energy makes each visit to Lifetime Fitness even better. Highly recommend! (LDF)

I truly need to find a gym with similar amenities or Cleveland quickly build one. This place is terrible outside of some of the machines. I pay high rate to constantly be stolen from and the staff and management is the worst I’ve experienced. Locker has been broken into 3 times. 4 year old boots stolen but the latest theft takes the cake. Literally stepped in the sauna came out 5 minutes later and my shower bag was stolen. Smh. It was later in the evening and a few guests were there. This is petty as it gets. When i asked the staff member cleaning up did he take it, he was basically like eff it wasnt him. Showed no care at all. Youre in the wrong place if shampoo and soap have to get stolen from you. Visit a lot of lifetimes across the country and this is by far the dirtiest, unfriendliest staff, mismanaged and theft ridden one by far. For the rate that keeps going up, definitely way overvalued location.

I use the pool everyday. For the past 3 weeks they have had major problems. The temperature was 79 degrees. It is the rec pool and is meant to be 86/87
We (other members) call daily and are constantly making the staff aware. I have witnessed many people leaving. With health conditions this is NOT acceptable!!! I have heard excuses but nothing has been done. The rates went up and I do not have the pool I pay for!!!

The lifeguard is always late. The 911 phone is broken. I was there on a Friday morning from 5-6:30 am and NO lifeguard at all!
I no longer attend Lifetime.

One day they gave me the portable and asked me to watch the pool. I can’t swim!!!

I like the equipment but nothing else, the worse staff members and leadership sending a bunch of emails everyday and trying to control everything. I was told that they'll cancel my membership because I didn't check in for awhile. I travel a lot and I go to other locations nationwide and I don't see how this will be their problem if the membership is paid, I should go back to Ohio just because they wanna see me? I called the facility and asked to talk to a manager but every time I tried they had a meeting so I didn't get an answer and for sure nobody called me back. They should take care of the facility and other problems, it's not their business how many times a member is working out if they collect the money anyway.

I went there for the first time, I had a Guest pass valid for 1 week from my Friend in LA, California. And they denied me to enter saying the Main member should be present with you while there’s nothing in the policy saying that the main member or employee should be present !!!!! Also they were so rude to me and aggressively asking me to pay $45 for one day pass as they are trying ways to suck up your money by any means !! I have no clue why they were so rude and unprofessional like this though I was so polite with them “reception guys”!! Terrible value now!! Been a member almost since opening and the club has just absolutely gone down the tubes over the years in every way. The women's sauna is always broken and never gets hot enough even when it's working. The weight machines are all faded and the hand pads on many are worn and torn and never get replaced. The jacuzzi jets are all mostly broken now and barely shoot water with any force at all and have not been repaired in years and the water does not get half as hot as it used to. Complaints are rarely addressed but they sure know how to raise rates and spend money on massage and cryo chairs that no one wants to pay for. There are long disgusting hairs plastered all up and down the shower walls and despite the restroom attendants constantly in your face spritzing down the same surfaces 100 times an hour WHILE you are trying to use them, the hairs and other gross things remain. You used to be able to join all the classes with a normal membership and now you have to pay even more to get certain classes. They don't even give you tampons for free in the bathrooms! There are much better values in the area. But if you like screaming classes taking place in the middle of the gym with loud speakers blasting over your headphones while you are trying to do your workout in peace, this is the place for you!🤣

The clubs upkeep/cleanliness is abhorrent. The locker rooms are beyond filthy. There is hair absolutely everywhere with chunks being in the showers and all over the bathroom floor. The shower doors are always wide open with scum all over them and inside the shower walls. This membership is NOT cheap and I expect better from the Life Time brand. It's a real shame how there is a total disregard for customers comfort evidenced by how filthy this club is kept. Management should be ashamed.

★ 2

As a member who has been with Lifetime in Beachwood since its doors opened, along with my spouse, as of today 11/25/23 I am disappointed in the new changes to the gym. Even though I have watched our membership fee increase for a family of 2 we are paying a "pretty penny". The current setup and remodel of the gym are clearly moving toward an environment of the "haves and the have-nots" and making members become "signature" members and pay an exorbitant amount of money for the same gym that was at one time CLEANER and open 24 hours etc. in order to take advantage of services that are now taking over the gym which are services one can even have access to unless a "signature " member.

The entire vibe of the gym is becoming very interesting. I can clearly see that the ultimate goal of a lifetime is to make common services unobtainable to certain groups of people and I will leave it at that. Signed a long-term member and other family members who are weighing other options!

Lifetime is becoming like the Sentiments of Lululemon "“[Lululemon is] trying to become like the Gap, everything to everybody,” he said. “And I think the definition of a brand is that you’re not everything to everybody. You’ve got to be clear that you don’t want certain customers coming in.” .......I feel Lifetime no longer want certain customers.......

Source: Google

★ 5

Lifetime has great amenities despite being very expensive. The locker room area is kept clean with an unlimited supply of towels to members. The showers are nice because they have a glass door which is better for privacy instead of curtains. The showers are supplied with shampoo and body wash for people to use and it smells amazing and it’s very effective to clean your body.

The Lifetime Cafe food is one of my favorite parts of the gym. I order a kids cheese pizza from there whenever i go there. It might not seem as healthy as you think, but the food is still pretty healthy and is good to go before, after, or even during your workout. The food comes out fresh and flavorful just like how you would expect at a restaurant.

The pool is one of the amenities I use the most. The two hot tubs are huge and can hold up to nearly twenty people. They are usually very hot and feel refreshing, especially after a tough workout. The pools are regulated at a normal temperature and can vary each day. One day it might be very cool and the other day it might be very warm, which is another thing I like.

The weight area and the gym itself is huge with tons of equipment. There is a big amount of bench presses and mostly cardio equipment. I have yet to try the gym equipment, but I’m assuming it will be a great experience.

A LifeTime membership is worth it if you’re going to be using most of the amenities. I use some of the amenities the gym has to offer in order to make the best use of the membership and is well worth it if you’re experienced in the gym. I love going here to be active and I’m going to start lifting at LifeTime.

For its cost compared to other lifetime locations this branch has gone down hill. The staff is hard working but management seems to be cutting corners anywhere they can. When I started coming here it was 24/7 and 40$ cheaper per month, now they close at midnight and 10 on weekends. Still milking the changes that came from covid regulations. They have even significantly lowered the water pressure to the showers in the last year to save on costs. Though just recently it seems there's been an improvement in water pressure. The sauna is always broken or not hot enough in the locker room as it needs to be at least 185 but preferably 200 as per the regulars that sit in there. Many guests I've spoken with are ready to leave.

The club downstairs felt like a run down 24 hour fitness. Our Colorado Springs club has a much more upscale feel.

The locker rooms were pretty gross with towels everywhere and it didn’t quite look like they care as much in there

Great I got my 40 minute run in but would not get a membership to this club if this was my home location.

I only use the gym to go swimming. I use the indoor pool that is closer to the locker rooms. The pool and everything is nice, but a lot of non-lap swimmers lack pool etiquette. There is a lane, I guess lane 1, where people hang out on the steps and often get in the way of people lap swimming there. A couple of people were sitting on the steps one day and the person that was lap swimming splashed them as they were swimming. They didn’t see the people sitting on the steps and when you have your head under water and do a flip turn, you don’t see anyone around you. When the people on the steps got splashed, they were upset and threw a pool kick-board in the person’s lane because they thought the person that was swimming did it on purpose. Why go into the water and expect not to get splashed or get wet? Lifeguard saw it and did nothing other than take the kick-board out the pool. Not only that incident, several incidents I’ve seen where kids just jump in lanes that people are using and are playing around. Where are these children’s parents or why doesn’t the lifeguard do anything? Another thing, the pool area and the pool itself is dirty and needs to be cleaned. There are used bandaids everywhere and one bandaid has been under the pool lift safety machine for at least a month. One day there was popcorn around the pool area. There are all kinds of dirt and debris and other junk in the pool. The pool also smells like urine. In conclusion, if you are a serious swimmer, this might not be the pool for you. I’ve swam at many different pools and never encountered anything like this. You pay too much money per month for problems like this to happen. They claim to be a luxury gym but I’ve seen some YMCAs that were better. I already canceled my membership and going elsewhere to swim.

The pool area was disgusting. They also have decreased their cleaning services after 6 pm. The pool area was closed due to resurfacing. As I entered the jacuzzi, I began to cough. I immediately exited the area for fear of toxic chemicals. There were no signs in place. It was horrific. When I initially became a member, there were no issues. Now, it has really gone down. The bottom line is this, they are cutting corners in order to save money. The pool area should be closed until the work is complete. I will contact the regional manager with my safety concerns. Will add photos tomorrow. This event or experience occurred on July 26. 2023 at the Lifetime in Beechwood.

So back in the day the basketball court I believe his name is Blair and I said can I shoot hoops over here, Blair then proceeded to come at me very rude and said “okay let’s start this conversation off right” almost treating me like a child”. Nothing will probably get done but just wanted to post this hope everyone has a blessed day 🙏 it’s sad because the basketball court used to be open anytime during the day now they have turn it into a kids playground lifetime is going downhill, that’s all I gotta say.

The lady I dealt with today was so rude and nasty in a professional way. Tried to reopen my membership she gave me a really hard time and made me feel so uncomfortable. I met plenty of staff over the years that came and left but that lady is not lifetime material . Most staff treat u well but that lady made it seem like it was her house and I wasn’t welcome . I had to leave and call the location in Columbus just to get help. I’m not giving the gym 1. Star just that lady

I will update my review later today. However, this place is equipped with untrained staff that are a liability, and who are also uneducated on the rules and regulations at this establishment. Unfortunately, the clients have to suffer from the poor decision making and policies of this establishment. I will update with more depth when I have time. I was nor pleased with my expirience today from the front desk staff. Very unwelcoming considering I've been coming here for around a year at this point. Avoid this gym. Find somewhere else, trust me- you'll regret spending your time or money here.

I would like to say that this gym was very rude. It has good workers and stereotype workers. I am Black and I was turned away because they claim that my membership was not a membership. I have had this membership since Aug of 2020. Ive had the same membership. I asked the guy is there anyway I could workout that night. And then next morning I could talk to a GM. He then told me no that's not possible. I cant let you in. He then went into telling me that Lifetime is its own chain, and I would have to contact corporate. Terrible service I will never step foot ever again in here. No Thanks

I have to change my review from a 5 star to a 3 star. The gym advertises that they are open until midnight, yet lock the doors around 11 so you can’t get in. The lights are on, people are working out upstairs, but the doors to get in are locked. This has happened multiple times now on nights that they are supposed to be open until midnight.
For what people pay to go here, stay open until your posted time. Individuals have different schedules, I can go in at 1115 and knock out a great 30-40 minute workout and be out the door by 1150 or 1155. At the very least, notify those paying to go here in an official email that this will be the policy from now, rather than employees ignoring patrons at the door. Not to mention, there was recently a rate increase as well. Very disheartening and disappointing.

It is currently 4:40 AM and the gym was supposed to open 40 minutes ago and it is currently locked for the price of the membership a month. I do expect the gym to be open at its stated operating hours.

Update. : 5:08am the doors open.. a young employee allows everyone in doesn’t scan anyone.. when asked “hey what time the gym opens be held up 4 fingers and said “FOUR.. but not today though” so there’s that.

I think the amenities are fantastic, and with the price increase, I was hoping to see less people there, or more equipment. However, it was explained to me via the sales rep that there was no value-added equipment for a childless lifter/casual athlete. Essentially, I went with a $50/mo option (Old School Iron) with less customers / more advanced equipment and added Esporta (LA Fitness) on Tiedeman for their sauna/pool/hot tub for $45/mo. With two memberships I have more flexibility and save money. Plus, it is closer to me here on the west side of Cleveland.

I am located near the central/west side of Cleveland. If I didn't ahve to come here before work it would be a higher value for me. However, for someone commuting to Beachwood it was a stretch for the pricing. Also, I travel monthly for work, and many of the locations I travel to require a "higher " membership with even more costs associated thare are not included in the "VIP" upgrade. So in the end, I won't discourage anyone going here, but I wouldn't encourage going there unless it's close (~11 min), you make $90k+, you don't travel for work, and you take full advantage of weekly use of classes, aquatics, and are okay with trying to game plan/scrimmage your way through the machines.

Way over priced. There is nothing wrong with being a little more than the competition because you are offering a little more. This place is priced 4-6 times more expensive than all the other gyms in the area and still charge for some extras. I remember being at the mall when they built this place and we're doing a sign up drive, people were literally laughing at them and the cost and walking away. However, we all know some are silly enough to think cost and status go hand in hand and they'll pay the crazy price just to say they're a member.

The good: The gym itself is very, very nice. Most of the employees are very friendly. The indoor pool is nice.
The bad: The gym is overcrowded often times. A number of the personal trainers never correct people's bad form, and have horrible form themselves. One guy had a woman doing deadlifts and was just watching her butt the entire time. They just don't seem to care. They have childcare, which I initially thought was great, but the employees there are hit or miss. Some are great. Last time we went, however, a toddler was hitting our baby in the face with a toy. Our baby was screaming while the employee was sitting there on her phone. We brought it up to her and she basically ignored what we were saying. They have a small café there but it's crazy overpriced—like $9-10 for a smoothie. And this gym is quite overpriced as well! These problems are completely unacceptable when paying this much. After the childcare incident we finally had enough and canceled our membership. We won't be going back and we do not recommend this place.

Childcare is not even close to as it is advertised. No one even looked at my child all 1.5h she was there and when I came to pick her up she was sitting alone in the corner with the childcare workers doing something & talking far away from her. There were no other kids. I felt bad that I left her there. They could at least offer her to draw/play next to them but she said they didn’t try to talk to her at all. Dissapointed.
