I have been to all the Lifetime gyms in Columbus, and I can say confidently that pickerington has some of the best trainers. It's very clean and respectful. The only downside, no steam room. However, there is plenty of space and enough equipment that it is unlikely you will have to wait.

It's amazing how I've been with the Pickerington location for 10 to 11 years and they tell me they appreciate my loyalty. Which I now know is a lie because I used to pay $35 a month for my membership there but now I pay $84 a month. Only get access for one other gym that is so far I won't even make the drive to go to that location. Thank you for showing your loyal customers so much disrespect with price hikes.

I am at this club several times a week and it’s great. The class schedules fit with basically any schedule. The trainers and group fitness instructors are really knowledgeable and good to work with. There’s a perfect mix of people, too. Families, people at the beginning of their fitness life, and already fit gym folks. It’s worth the price to have access to the equipment and levels of help, instruction, and encouragement I feel like I need.

Pros: Clean facility with friendly staff. Variety of fitness classes that are amended to most fitness levels. Accept Silver Sneakers. Pleasant, polite members who will say hello but pretty much keep to themselves - which I like.

Cons - philosophy appears to be highly motivated to upsell memberships to private trainers. Multiple employees refused to assist with answering questions about machines or workout adjustments. All employees that I approached (6) immediately suggested additional consulting fees when all i was asking was how to use a machine and suggested weight levels. You're really on your own with machines or workout regimen unless you want to pay an additional $50+ per hour.

Final tally: The classes are great and led by instructors (I met 8) who really cared and assisted participants who needed to either increase or decrease the intensity.
If you know what you're doing and prefer to work alone on your machine/weights program, this is the spot for you. If you're like me, a beginner, stick to the classes.

Pickerington location does not have a pool, hot tub, steam room, and is missing many more amenities than other locations yet costs exactly the same monthly price. This is not okay! Either expand and add these amenities to this location or decrease the price of this location specifically. Giving access to other lifetime locations that are 30 minutes away does not justify the price.

Besides price everything else is perfect about this gym. For what this location offers, it should not be more than $30 a month.

I did the Monday night 6:45 class with Dana and had the time of my life! I felt like I got in a great work out and had energy after to finish my day. Highly impressed! When I moved from across Columbus earlier this year, I was most terrified that I wouldn’t find a new gym that I loved. This location goes above and beyond. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, and a large variety of options in equipment and classes. If you are located in the pickerington, or Canal Winchester area, I highly recommend! And I even got my husband to join who’s never really been a gym person :-)

Unprofessional staff member: Female staff member was following a Highschool age male member around as he was working out. Elizabeth’s Yoga class on Thursday eve is truly a great class . Shout to her for having great communication through out the class and also Creating a zen environment. Also, training classes for Gage , Zack and Joseph are highly recommend as they have helped not only loose like 40Lbs but they are all professional and truly care about their classes.

Thank you to Tyler at the front desk, Josef with personal training, Bridgett for yoga classes, and everyone on Brandy's team in the safe and clean childcare room- especially Drew. The people make it great. Facility is large, not a fan of the carpeting in the weights and cardio areas, but the main group class and yoga rooms are nicely renovated. Great group class offerings and in the few months I've been there more things have been constantly added, with new promotions (GTX free to try, bring a friend free for certain weeks, etc ).Note, 1-4pm there's no child watch or group classes. Plentiful easy parking outside and quick check in process. Free use of work out towels and lockers. The dry sauna in locker rooms are large and seemed pretty clean. If they had a pool, this place would have it all!

My complaints are mostly things that have nothing to do with the actual business, and more so the amount of people who don’t put away weights, sit around while “using” a machine or weight lifting area and not actually working out. It’s a small gym. Have good etiquette during busy hours. Do what you need to do and move so everyone can get in a good workout.

Nice and convenient for me. Equipment is in good working order, although some of them are unavailable due to covid restrictions. The staff is always actively cleaning the equipment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Monthly fee is very affordable if you are over 65 silver sneakers is accepted there. I haven't tried any of the group exercise classes but there is a huge variety of classes available.

Wouldn’t let me put my membership on hold without coming in person during a Pandemic. It’s a gym membership not canceling a bank account. Heck people can cancel TV service and electric/ gas utilities over the phone. But no can’t do a gym membership. What a scam gyms got going on. Just figured they understand during this time.
Called corporate number and guy was able to put membership on hold no problem. Took like 5-7 minutes on phone to do this. But sale manager guy at Pickerington lifetime just didn’t care.

Every summer my work sends me to a different location in the United Stars. And every summer I get to look around and find another gym that’ll meet my needs. Last year I was in Ohio and I chose Life Time. It wasn’t until this summer while I’m trying to find a gym in Alaska did I realize how special Life Time really is. Their management and staff are incredible. Always greeting you at the door with friendly faces. I’m not one who really liked personally training sessions but I really enjoyed the session that came with my membership. They have all the weights and machines you could ask for. Their facility is the cleanest I’ve ever been to (gym section and locker room) and I’ve never felt so welcomed. They charged me what they said they’d charge me and helped me cancel when I needed to. No surprises. I’d recommend this gym to everyone and would choose it over the gym I use in my home city. I’m thankful for their commitment to excellence and thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Staff in kids area don’t know how to be around kids. I witnessed staff being physical front of me with my child I was shocked to see that behavior and make me think what they do when parents not around. I called in and was told someone will call me back, and I’m still waiting. It begs the question that maybe it’s because I’m a minority that’s why I’m being treated this way. If someone’s skin color is right then they get all the services.

I am very disappointed in the customer service involving the child center at this location. They advertise for ages up to 11 years with enriching activities and this is just not true. The space is very small and the staff doesn’t engage in enriching activities it’s quite the opposite. I thought maybe my bad experience was an isolated incident but it’s not. I have spoke to another family that has had a terrible experience as well that involved mistreatment of their children. I do not recommend at all. Very disappointing.

Needs more space for free weights and greater equipment variety for glute workouts, especially during peak hours, things can get cramped and you often have to wait for equipment. The kids center is great, and the ladies who work there are wonderful and caring. It would also be nice to see a water filtration system installed. If you run out of water your only option is city water, which is not a healthy choice anywhere.

After being with them for about a year and a half, I have to say that I appreciate the regular upkeep the gym owners, provide. In addition to regular cleaning, replacing weights and picking up after members leaving towels/napkins/water bottles around, there's regular renovations going on. Recently, they replaced the flooring in about half the first floor sections. I'm not sure why, I didn't notice anything wrong with the old floor. BUT, I like new things, even if they are useless to me. So new floor...I'll take it. Cardio equipment regularly gets replaced, such as recent new treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, and leather padding on weight machines gets replaced quickly. Two new squat rack platforms that thankfully are not reserved for training sessions. Today, I noticed a pin on the leg calf machine that was previously bent outta shape was replaced and going in smoothly. Staff are nice and overall experience is A+ as far as fitness clubs go. I will still knock a point for the magazine fiasco mentioned below but aside from that, 5/5 (for a gym).

PS: I do wish they had a filtered water ElKay EZH2O filtered water fountain like most other gyms around the world, but the tap water nozzle is okay for now.

Realized today that they have been charging $2 per month for a garbage fitness magazine I never signed up for. I was not told about this second purchase I was making when I signed up to buy a GYM MEMBERSHIP. When I called for a refund, I was told that it was mentioned in the membership agreement. Sorry, I signed up and paid for a GYM membership, not some extra weight in my recycling bin. Only got 6 months refunded. Never expected a brand like Life Time to have to stoop to such trashy business practices to milk a couple extra bucks from members. If it were mentioned during sign up it would’ve been fine. The gym is good, truly. It’s kept clean, machines are fixed quickly, it’s really great. But because of this, it loses all points in my book due to dishonesty and deception. It’s not about the money, it’s about the principle. Zero stars.

Worst company ever..... let’s start with the fact that I have medical issues I discovered while I was enrolled with them. Found out the reason I have problems working out is due to several medical conditions. I’ve spoke with multiple people at this location who said I could use my sessions with jimmy any time. I tried contacting jimmy numerous times to use the three sessions I had with no contact back . This is $150 worth of sessions. I take my medical papers in they say we can put your account on medical and it will suspend the account for 9 months. Ok great! Now today with no notice AT ALL. They withdraw $52.31 from my account. I’m on medical restriction I literally have not set foot in their facilities for 9 months. I’m a single parent and they just feel entitled to my hard earned money. They have now taken over $200 from me and for what ??? Nothing. I even reached out to their corporate offices months ago to no avail. If I do not get some resolutions today or my money back I will be contacting the BBB, corporate offices and 6 on your side regarding their horrible policies

I am proud to be a lifetime member! The gym is very spacious with excellent equipment. The staff feels like family and will talk to you as a friend to make sure your doing well. And lastly, the people are the best!!! When my buddy and I were just starting lifting, people would go up to us and help us if our form was wrong. Only bad part about lifetime is that making my account on there app won't really work. It is buggy and says I have already used my card # on an account previously. But other than that, it has been a wonderful experience!

I've been a Lifetime Fitness member since 2004. Most of the time, I don't have any problems with them. Except when they do cleaning during busy morning (11am-12pm) hours. Running a vacuum next to me doing exercises, is not cool, dusting air fans over my head, is NOT cool. I think the management has to reconsider cleaning times.

If you're not a member and coming as a guest you're treated like dirt. Very rude once we let them know we were using a guest pass and signing me up after. When we brought this up with a manager he let us know that it is company policy that only members come to the gym and we are probably just having a bad day. I quote, "guests make the gym too packed so it's only fair to members not to bring them more than once." I have decided not to sign up until this concern is addressed.

Best gym in town. The thing I really hate most is that the trainers will take up entire areas for their classes, leaving the rest of the members fending for themselves. There are plenty of times that they will take up the entire Olympic lift area as well as two whole rows of machines. I pay to come to lift at the gym on what ever I want, yet there are specific times were you are not aloud.

Very friendly staff! However, I was disappointed at the facility's failure to address safety concerns when it comes to practicing yoga upstairs. The staff do not control the number of participants entering the yoga studio. It is too small to hold 30 bodies or so in the room. I got kicked by this gentleman once as I was simultaneously trying to dodge him a few times while trying to practice yoga. The instructor saw the man freely took over my yoga mat while I tried to squeeze myself to the side, but she did nothing to intervene. There should be a guideline to stop people entering the room after 10 minutes being late. This person just created a spot for himself that was not safe for him nor for others around him! It was supposed to be a relaxing morning turned out to be a disappointing one.

They don't have filters on the water fountains in the gym, or they have never been changed so the water tastes like nasty chlorine swimming pool water. I'd avoid re filling your water container at this gym unless you bring your own gallon of water. It's like filling your container up with bathroom faucet water. Might as well be toilet water, and the employees do not care because they never drink from the water fountains.

I would give 5 stars but no pool or basketball court. Other than that I live this Gym. I've been a member for about a month now, and haven't regretted my decision at all. Great staff who is very welcoming. I'm leaving to go to the Air Force soon, and I'm staying here until I leave. Especially with the the reasonable price of just over $30 a month. Super clean. I went to the Easton location, also and this one is better. I can see the childcare center from almost everywhere in the club. Plenty of towels, clean sauna, lots of antiseptic wipes, the machines work, and I don't feel like the trainers are pressuring me to buy their services.

I see people from all different levels at this club. Serious bodybuilders, wrestlers, retirees, business people, parents and teens working out together, and very overweight people. I see the same people at about the same time and the treadmills have personal televisions, which Easton does not have.

The assistants at Life Time Fitness include young women, young men, and older people who say they have been in this business some time. I don't know who the manager was who was an ass, but my neighbor is respectable and he sells Kia cars. So, that nasty remark is offensive. The general manager is very nice at this club and I toured Planet Fitness.

I never worked out before coming to use a fitness center. I am sold on this club and recommend it to mothers with young children, retirees, teenage girls, and so forth. If the current general manager goes away and the place gets dirty, machines are in disrepair, patrons ogle shapely women, talk dirty, and whatever, then I might revisit this review. People are not doing bad things like that yet.
