I have nothing but positive things to say about Lionheart! I’ve been coming here since 2023 (I believe) and have worked with Josie specifically, and she is so wonderful. They have definitely revamped the aesthetic of the inside and it is really well organized. As working out can sometimes become monotonous over time, I always know we’ll be doing something different when I have a session!

When I first stepped into Lionheart in the beginning of summer 2025 to get my free consultation, I was greeted by Jose, where he asked about my fitness past and goals. I told him about my aspirations to lose the fat I gained through college, have more muscle than I even did before I stopped lifting and playing sports in High School, and that I was in Columbus only for 10 weeks for an internship, so I needed to maximize my time. I also told him how many times I was able to attend per week, and how much free time I usually had on non-lifting days, as well as flexibility with my diet. Lastly, I explained that I had prior wrist and shoulder injuries from hockey, and struggled to do certain workouts. Spoiler Alert: by the end of summer, I could bench heavy, no problem. He was extremely friendly and understanding, and promptly got to work. He worked with me 2 days a week, but still gave me dietary advice to maximize my results, cardio plans for days I did not lift with him, and even invited me to run with a group once a week, as he truly does establish an amazing sense of community at Lionheart. I made great friends with other clients and trainers that I met there, and had a great time all while putting in hard work. It made me look forward to any chance I could get to be at Lionheart, or just run with the group. Not only those great perks, but any time I had a dietary or fitness question, Jose was happy to answer as quickly as possible, even on rest days. Now to the fun part! In just 10 weeks, Jose helped me achieve greater results than I could have possibly imagined, and I plan on continuing this fitness journey through the rest of my life. I lost 15 pounds and can bench 70 more pounds, can do 3+ pull-ups now (which I lost the ability to do over the years), and have knowledge about fitness I never thought I would have that will benefit me for the rest of my life. LIONHEART IS WORTH IT!

Great atmosphere with great trainers! Josè is my trainer, but every trainer at Lionheart is professional and kind. They tailor workouts and diet suggestions to your personal fitness goals. I've been working out with Lion Heart Fitness since fall 2021. I'm a former long distance runner, cyclist, and triathlete who stopped exercising consistently in my mid and late 30s. I'd get in great shape and then life would get in the way. Training with Ryan has led me to be consistent, and I've grown stronger than I have been in a long time. Gym owner, Jose, is also great, and the clients are a good group of folks to work out with. It's a serious gym teaching serious powerlifting and bodybuilding techniques with a focus on longevity--but it's accessible to all who want to join. I had no prior powerlifting experience and had never deadlifted when I started.

Best decision I have ever made for my health! Amazing people, community, and programming.
I was trying to get into strength training for my health and kept feeling that I was tweaking something and honestly was in a lot of pain after workouts (i.e. low back and knee pain). I am currently a medical student and have a pretty busy schedule.
Lionheart made everything super simple for me. They met with me and did a whole free first session mostly focused on assessing my training history, concerns, and goals. Since then, I have been working with Jose on a plan focused on my goals and have made so much progress.
My pain has greatly reduced and my lifts are getting stronger (went from minimal deadlifting experience to currently hitting a 355 lb 1 rep max in 9 months). I look forward to my workouts now and get to try something new every week (e.g. banded exercises or different barbell types). Also, I can always fit it into my schedule whether it is at 6 am or 6 pm given their incredible flexibility as a staff.
Additionally, I truly value that they are willing to adjust my plan with me. Whenever my pain or tightness does flare, they work to assess it and modify my routine to ensure I am rehabbing appropriately and activating accessory muscles to provide proper support.
Most importantly, they have become a great community for me. Jose and the rest of the staff truly treat you like family and I have never had a negative experience. There have been so many sessions where I have stuck around to do random exercises like boxing or just chat. I have loved it so much that I convinced my sister who is at Ohio State too to come to train at Lionheart with me.

I’m so happy that I found a gym like lionheart fitness. It’s perfect for someone looking to learn the basics of weight lifting in a comfortable & casual setting. Josie has become the highlight of my days and she really focuses on the functionality and safety of lifting while still pushing you to reach your highest potential.
I’ve joined countless gyms and workout programs and this, by far, has been the most valuable one. Jose is the owner and he really makes you feel like family. It’s a tight-knit group of people but it’s not at all intimidating or overwhelming. The laid back chill atmosphere makes me look forward to working out every week. Most of the time it’s just me & Josie in the gym utilizing the top-tier equipment. She monitors my form and adds weight when she sees I’m ready to level up. Being a novice in weight lifting Josie gives me peace of mind in knowing that I’m lifting properly at a weight that is challenging & effective, yet safe. I started working with Josie about 1 year after having a baby. When I met with her for the consultation, she made me feel safe and I felt like she fully understood my goals. Josie helps me feel like a badass. For the first time ever, I feel confident in the gym and I feel strong. I come to my workouts feeling excited and she’s always there cheering me on. I cannot thank Ryan Enough at Lionheart fitness. I started personal training with Ryan a little over a year ago. When we first met I let him know about a back injury that I had and that I did not know how to lift properly with that injury. Since then, I am the strongest I have ever been and my back has pretty much no issue now. I cannot recommend them enough. Not only do they care about growth but they care about getting you there safely. I used to hate squatting and deadlift because of my back issues and now those are some of my favorite days. I had never lifted before Lionheart. When I first went in for the free trial session, they asked what I could bench and I had never tried. Despite knowing nothing, the trainers were really great, explained what they were doing, and I made fast progress. My trainer way Ryan but I occasionally had sessions with the other trainers who were also awesome. Great place, great trainers even if you're starting from knowing nothing and being out-of-shape!

I've been training with Ryan at Lionheart since March '23. Before starting at Lionheart, I had never formally trained, so my experience going into it was minimal. Ryan set up a customized plan to ease me into it and thoroughly explained things along the way. He ensures that you know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how to do it safely (as do all of the other trainers). Overall, it has been a great experience; I highly recommend checking them out.

I'd highly recommend Lionheart Fitness. Despite working out for years, I never saw the progress I was looking for due to my injuries being aggravated by lifting incorrectly and not knowing the most effective workout movements.
After starting at Lionheart, I learned how to lift with proper form to avoid pain and lift heavier weights. They also helped me build consistency with my workouts and held me accountable. Highly recommend training at Lionheart Fitness! I’ve been working with Jose two days a week for the last 4 months and it is the most confident and comfortable I’ve ever felt in a gym lifting weights and strength training. Jose is so knowledgeable and always explains the purpose of the exercise and training programming. Not only has my physical strength increased, but chronic shoulder pain I experienced for almost two years has completely gone away.

When Beyoncé wrote the lyrics “a diva is a female version of a hustla,” she was talking about Marissa. Unlike the yellowing peace lily plant at the gym’s front door, Marissa brings life to Lion Heart. Her keen eye for engaged lats is unmatched. And, as vulnerable as I feel with 170lbs on my back, Marissa’s coaching gives me great strength. If you like a side of Tennessee Whiskey on the aux with your workout, she’s the trainer for you.
Realer talk- the team here is awesome. Their approach to strength training is effective, challenging and fun. I’ve struggled with lower back pain for years and 2 months into joining it hasn’t been an issue. I highly recommend this group!

It’s worth every penny. About 3 months ago, as covid restrictions started to lift, I realized that I’d essentially been inactive for over a year. I decided I needed to get back in the gym. But I started thinking about how I never really got the results I was looking for, largely because I would just lift to lift without thinking about how I was doing it.
I decided to reach out to Jose the owner of Lionheart. I knew Jose in grade school but hadn’t seen him in years. He brought me in for a consult to discuss my goals, experience, etc.
He set me up with Ryan starting out 3 days a week. From day 1 I started learning the proper way to approach each day and how to lift with a plan to get the best results. Jose designs each week differently to challenge different muscle groups, and the staff actually follows the same weekly plan that the clients do.
In only 3 months I’ve started to see noticeable changes and I’m setting personal records just about every day. I just added on to do a 4th day because of how pleased I am with what I’ve seen so far.
Five stars. I’d recommend to anyone whether experienced or starting for the first time. Just avoid Jay. He’s weird.

Lionheart Fitness is a great place to go for someone who is ready to make a change. I knew I wanted to make a change and get into better shape (especially after months of sitting around during the quarantine). Like most people, I’ve had weeks of working out and solid streaks of healthier living only to throw it away due to a lack of motivation and knowledge.
But at Lionheart, Jose broke exercising down for me. He taught me proper forms, which exercise hit certain parts of the body, as well as a daily dose of motivation. With knowledge came gym confidence which I’ve never really had before.
It’s a great space where you get to focus on you while the great trainers assist, educate, and motivate you throughout your workout. Having a trainer waiting on me kept me accountable and didn’t leave me room to blow off the gym for the day. On top of all that, I could tell the trainers cared about my goals as much as I did. Jose individualizes workouts to fit my goals.
It’s a great comfortable space to work out and the trainers/clients that share the space create a great vibe that makes working out not feel like a chore. Can’t recommended this place enough.

Jose is an amaaaaaazing trainer who provides amazing results, but the reason I love him is the dude CARES. He’s a dynamic human who cares about his clients personally just as much or more as he cares about their results.

I was never one to go to the gym as it’s never felt comfortable to me coming from fat kid life. My experience with José from day 1 had me feeling comfortable enough to keep coming back 4 days a week for 5 months now. I honestly will say I’m not going back to anything less to help myself. I can feel my body getting stronger and looking a lot better than it ever has in my entire life thanks to José’s methods. I’m also getting injured far less at work ever since I’ve strengthened my body with him. There isn’t a trainer out there that I’d trust my time with other than José and anyone being trained under him. I started working out with Jose 3-4 x a week 6 months ago and my body has transformed! I had already lost 180+ lbs prior to working with him but needed to put on muscle and tone.
