Can I give 10 out of 5 stars??? I used to attend the Atma Center back in the day but have since moved out of the area. One bright spot from the pandemic? Zoom yoga! I'm so glad to have access to the wonderfully wise teachers at Lotus Flower again!
If you're in the area I would totally recommend going in-studio and soaking up all the good studio vibes and wonderful communal energy from an in-person class. All of the teachers are so well-versed in biomechanical principles of alignment and know how to keep joints safe. And modifications abound! Feeling rusty at Sun Salutation? No problem! There's modifications with a chair, standing, or a wall. It's truly yoga for every body.
All of us in Zoomland aren't forgotten either! We're always greeted, included, and made to feel part of the class. So if you can't make it to the studio for whatever reason - virtual is always there for you.
Edit 7/2/24: I wanted to add that in my experience, most of the classes I've taken at LFYC include some form of healing breathwork and guided mediation - which is soo great for an anxious person like me! LFYC also offers classes where breathwork and meditation is the sole focus if that's something you're looking for.

I was treated just the way we all want to be treated from the moment I walked in the door until the moment I walked out. The class was just right and adjusted to my needs seamlessly. I felt that I was able to practice at the level that was appropriate for me and I appreciate the very professional and high quality teaching. Thanks very much.

Attended a terrific class with Julie. It was a good pace with moves that were helpful. She had a nice message and good sense of humor with easy tips in class as well. I will absolutely attend again!

I practice at many of the yoga studios across the greater Cleveland area, but Lotus Flower is by far my favorite! It's welcoming and unpretentious, and the studio is in a great location on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. Julie, the owner, is kind and sets a wonderful overall tone. There is something here for everyone, whether it's Stephanie's magically relaxing restorative yoga, Liz's vinyasa basics class that will make your downward dog the best it's ever been, or Mary Laura's challenging Ashtanga series and her hilarious commentary.

I attended a restorative yoga workshop with Stephanie and I really enjoyed it. She was informative on how the poses impact certain organs and chakras. I definitely learned a lot. The yoga practice was relaxing and I felt the effects through the day. I plan to return for a class or another workshop.

The teachers here project a warm, welcoming approach and are well versed in yoga and the body’s systems. Alternatives for postures are offered for personal use. Having the Zoom option in addition to in-person classes has been critical to the success of my continuing practice. Great studio, great staff.

"Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name" -- not just true for pubs, also important for yoga studios! :-) Big enough to have a diverse range of classes and teachers, small enough to feel personal and friendly.

Atma Center will always hold a special place in my heart. I have had many wonderful experiences there throughout the years. This was a great way to just connect and talk about yoga, share experiences and learn about new resources.

I love the Atma center! I sign up for a monthly membership and can choose which classes I come to that fit into my schedule. They offer virtual classes which are great when "social distancing." After a yoga class I feel energized, calm, and focused, unlike any other activity or yoga practice I have taken classes from. I am very happy with Atma center, the atmosphere and instructors are all extremely caring and empowering. Thank you Atma for improving my mindset and flexibility and for your practices that relieve my back discomfort, I am so greatful!

The yoga that is taught here is different from what is usually taught in other places. This yoga is for mind and body. You do not need the ability to touch your toes to start doing this yoga. However, if you do this yoga you will be able to touch your toes fairly quickly and painlessly. A greater benefit would come in terms of the calm and steady mind that you would experience over time. Anxiety and stress will no longer cause strain. A clarity of mind like you have never experienced will surface. And like I said before you will be able to touch your toes and move your body in ways you never thought psossible.
The teachers accommodate students of expert yoga background and flexibility as well.

I took an all levels/open to all class last week, and was surprised at how many distractions I encountered. People around me spoke or commented often. At one point, I closed my eyes to try to concentrate, and while staying within my mat space, someone walked so close that I ended up bumping into them. I found it challenging to concentrate in the atmosphere provided, and I usually have no issue getting into a meditative state. There was no introductory offer for new students, so I spent $17 on this class.

Truly yoga for EVERYbody. The teachers all focus on adapting the poses to meet the needs of the students and make themselves available after class to answer any questions. The two studio spaces are well managed and clean, with plenty of props available for students to modify poses as needed. The staff are all wonderful people who greet you with a smile and make you feel at home. The atmosphere in class never feels competitive (there aren't any mirrors in the studios), and I love looking around a typical class and seeing an incredible diversity of ages, races, sexes, sizes, and abilities... I can't recommend the Atma Center highly enough.

The Atma Center is a great place if you're interested in a holistic approach to healing through Yoga. No matter your age, size or health status, they welcome the level that you are currently at. Many of their teachers have a background in medicine, and all poses are modified for your specific needs. They offer private classes and are able to accommodate schools and business as an outsourcing option.
