My daughter's volleyball game was here today. They had 4 courts set up, but the seating availability and the parking can both be a little hectic.

I run the Fair Play Volleyball Leagues in Fort Wayne. But this might be my favorite indoor location to use. I love how the community, and local businesses, come together to help support this facility. Tim does a great job, and we always feel welcome here. I wish our experiences with facilities in Fort Wayne were as good as our experiences here.

I play volleyball, basketball, and softball there year round. They always have balls to practice with and good concessions.

When visiting this facility I was struck by the smell of mildew in the main entrance. Water stains are visible where the roof has been leaking. Clearly an older facility. Upon entering the gymnasium I was surprised by how little space there is for spectators to watch the games. Two games going on at the same time, both half-court, side-by-side. Only one foot separates the bleachers from the court boundary line under each basket. And only 2 bleacher benches available on either end. We were practically a part of the game!
The organizers need to get refs that are unbiased. In 3 of the games our team played here, our players were fouled to the point of injury yet no foul was called on the opposing teams. One of our players had his head stomped on when he was pushed to the ground then was kicked in the stomach. Again, no fouls called. One teams players AND coaches were actually cussing at our players (these are 4th grade boys) and when brought to the attention of the refs it was ignored with shrugged shoulders. One ref in particular would only call fouls on our team and not one single foul was called on the opposing team for the entire game.
When brackets were made for the tournament the play-in team was placed to play the 2nd place team. 3rd place played 1st place. This shows the bias of the facility to give their team (the play-in team) better odds of placing well in the tournament. I will be recommending to the team coaching staff for our school that our kids not be entered into this league in the future. They have clearly shown their disregard for fairness in the game. From what I witnessed they teach the kids that being a bad sportsman is the way to win and winning is all that matters, no matter how you do it.

Nice people, but this place needs air conditioning.
