Love this gym - I use Active and Fit Direct through my employer so I have access to quite a few gyms but choose Metro as my go to. I love the abundance of equipment (pretty much never waited to get a set in) and how friendly the community is.

Plus, nothing beats ending the morning workout more than saying good morning to all the silver sneakers class attendees :)

This place has really gone downhill in the past few years. As of December 2023, nearly half the cardio equipment (already limited number of machines) is out of order or not fully functional. Overall the place just feels dark, dingy, and uncared for. Staff is friendly and it’s usually not too crowded, so that’s a plus.

their dumbells are not screwed on properly and feel like their loose. because their loose, you get your hands pinched.

also kind of dirty and stuff doesn’t get wiped down.

if u are okay with that, then then the 30-something gets you the free weights u need.

I am not a person who usually writes a review or gets upset with the situation this easily. We signed up for Level 1 class for both of my girls. We reached there & the instructor was absolutely clueless. I explicitly told her my daughter took classes pre-Covid and needs a refresher. I repeat they haven’t been in the pool for 2 years. She told them to be in a separate swim lane all by themselves without giving them any refresher. My younger daughter was almost drowning as she reached middle of the pool by herself. She was scared & sweating as No was next to her. Luckily my other daughter who could swim a little helped her little sister out of the pool. This instructor made NO effort whatsoever to help my kid get out of the pool. This is dangerous and absolutely unacceptable. This instructor stayed on her side of swimlane. Even parent with another kid mentioned my daughter was drowning.

The reason I m writing a review is that this should not happen to any other kid. Now my kid has a fear of getting in the pool. They need to give training to their instructor how to deal with human life.

They have one dedicated bench for flat bench and a guy that insists on taking it for two hours. If someone is doing squats on the other rack, you are SOL. If you need the elevated platform for a spotter, you are SOL. Just go to Worthington

My daughter took 10 private swim lessons here. The pool area and family locker rooms are absolutely disgusting. It's as if they've never been cleaned. Scheduling isn't very buttoned-up or very user friendly like it is at Goldfish school. We started with a teacher and after 1 swim lesson he was out of town for the next 3 weeks and then after the 2nd lesson he was booked with another student so we had to switch teachers. The teachers are pretty young (high school and in college) so they don't always know how to handle a young child.

Completely disorganized. Two weeks in a row we were trying to get into semiprivate swimming lessons, took time, drove to the place just to turn around and leave. All possible excuses for missing the appointed time. Avoid this place if you count on somewhat good service

I used a free pass before getting a membership. This gym is not handicapped or disabled accessible. The front door leads to a flight of stairs. I called before going and was told there was an elevator but when I arrived, the front desk staff said there was not. The pool only has ladders to enter, no steps for anyone with limited mobility. The staff was very disinterested in me. I wasn't offered a tour or any information on the gym itself. I had to ask where everything was and where to get a key for the locker room... The whole experience was very disappointing.

Older gym but cool layout and has pretty much everything you'd want/ need for lifting and other activities. Added bonus, I told them I was staying at one of the hotels down the road and my lifting sesh was free!!

Update: they were absolutely atrocious to deal with during the pandemic. I love the gym itself and staff, but management is awful to deal with.

Indoor track is my favorite, weight area has little congestion because of many machines, but nice and clean place to workout in Dublin, Ohio. I recommend this place for workout and swimming.

Management is wonderful to work with and Personal trainers are also outstanding. I have belonged to other gyms and this staff and facility is very member friendly and they are locally owned which is an added bonus compared to these huge franchise gyms. Not to mention this is the most affordable gym around WITH NO LONG TERM MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS that is super clean can HAS A LARGE POOL. Thank you Doug, the club manager, for helping with sign up and not make a some high pressure, long term contract situation. I highly recommend checking out Dublin and Hilliard Metro Fitness- it's a great place!

Old and worn down but has all the equipment you need to lift and workout. Plenty of cardio machines. 20 lap mile track, couple (3 or 4) lane indoor swimming pool. Nice locker rooms. Doing renovations which will hopefully give it a fresh facelift.

Be warned: they charge you an "equipment fee" of $50 two months after you join in addition to the monthly membership dues. They claim that this fee is an annual one that "maintains and updates the equipment." However, it is obvious that the equipment at this gym has not been upgraded in a long time! It is old: handlebars are missing from exercise machines, free weights are dated and have no rubber grips, treadmills and bikes are out of order. The pool and locker facilities are pretty decent, but overall this is not worth the price.

Decent for the price.
Last I was there they locked up the kettle bells and the heavy bags. This is the only location I've been to that does this and it's incredibly annoying to not be able to use all the equipment without being supervised like a child.

The Dublin metro loop location is by far the best gym I have belonged to as an out of shape millennial. Between a friendly and helpful staff and the presence of any and all workout equipment necessary for any exercise type, it is worth the monthly expense of about thirty dollars. There are numerous workout rooms, a track, a pool, and an amazing sauna in both locker rooms that must be mentioned. With all the gym necessities included, it hosts a broad range of patrons who are all infinitely cordial about sharing the space and also conversational when prompted. Alongside the patrons and regular staff, the personal trainers are very talented and ready to assist anyone seeking guidance.

If you haven't found a recreation center that works for you, or the whole family, this establishment in Dublin will fit anyone looking to get into a fun exercise regime of any frequency or intensity.

My most effective work out is Bruce Black's spinning class, and than a few laps back and forth in the wonderful pool. Best cardio fitness work out around.

I joined the gym about 3 years ago because it was right around the corner from my office. I started taking the spinning classes with Bruce which have changed my life and body. They are by far the funnest group classes I have ever taken and now I take Bonnie's spinning classes too which are just as tough and fun as Bruce's! I have met so many good friends through these classes too; it's like we're a small family! The gym's pool and running track are nice but the other equipment can use a face-lift. The staff is very friendly but the gym can be better kept up with as far as cleanliness and better working equipment. Overall the gym is affordable and convenient!

Metro Fitness Dublin is a a great place to work out for bodybuilding, physical fitness for young and old, and serves as a great "third-place" where people meet other people and find commonality.

I received access thru my health insurance, so it was at no cost to me to visit. The pool is great, always clean and always available during the day (no classes interfered when I wanted to swim on Friday's). Sadly, our company insurance is changing and I won't have this benefit anymore. So, I don't know how much it costs to be a member here. If the cost is the same as other nicer places that have a pool, then my suggestion would be to remodel the men's locker room. It always had a dank musty smell. That smell is probably in the carpet, and only new carpet and paint would take the smell away. But if that remodel would drive up the cost to be a member there, I would change my suggestion to install auto spray air fresheners. Another reviewer noted that the equipment was old. I would agree, but who cares? I don't need brand new equipment. The equipment was all functional and evidently well built as it has stood the test of time. Replacing all the equipment with new equipment would probably drive up the cost of membership and possibly cost you to lose paying members. I say, stay with the equipment you have to keep the membership cost reasonable for your paying members. I do miss the hot tub, I would use it after a workout. Maybe get an above ground hot tub to replace the in-ground one you filled in. All-in-all, it is a nice facility and I enjoyed going there. I have equipment at home to work out on, but will miss not being able to swim in the winter, but it's not worth it to pay for a membership just to swim in the winter. Thanks for keeping a nice facility for me for the past couple years and please keep it going for your other paying members.

Some of the equipment is a little old and the place is a bit too warm for my tastes, but they have a wide selection of equipment for use. The massage therapist is fantastic. I have not used the pool or racquetball court, but they seem to be a very popular. The yoga instructors are great and I really enjoy the class. They even have tanning beds, but they're very old and another feature I have not used. Overall, a very nice facility with good amenities at a reasonable price.

This is definitely the nicest location for Metro Fitness in Columbus. They have raquetball courts, indoor track, indoor swimming pool, sauna, massage. Plenty of weights and machines. The locker rooms are pretty nice too!
